2. eTutoring - Venture-labs.org
The idea was to develop an “eBay of eLearning” – an online
portal where both academic and non-academic subjects could
be taught. The system would provide:
• a virtual classroom environment where learners could take
any and as many lessons from a variety of topics, both live
(collaborative) and on-demand,
• a gallery where trainers could showcase their profiles, their
offerings and their availability, and
• a portal that would manage Demand
and Supply matching; and let learners
rate their learning experience for the
benefit of others.

A prototype of the proposed project has been developed that
reflects some basic features and highlights the value proposition
the solution aims to project.
4. eTutoring - Venture-labs.org
In the prototype, the students are able to browse through a
directory of courses (initially only academic courses, but would
soon be populated with non-academic areas of interest, e.g.
Cooking). The list further populates over the period as more and
more trainers (subject matter experts) get themselves registered
to the website and list their skills and areas of talent.

Once a student gets himself / herself registered for a training,
they can make payments through variety of options (using pre-
paid balance, from escrow account or directly through credit
card). The actual amount to be paid may range from absolutely
free to whatever amount has been set by the prospective trainer,
however, the demand and supply rules may determine the
appropriate market price for the said training. Once a ‘fair price’
has been negotiated between the trainer and learner, they can
meet each other in the ‘virtual classroom’ environment on the
given date / time – all managed through the system.

The lessons are finally delivered through live collaborative
environments (currently being offered through integration with
third party proprietary) which would be developed using open-
source software, while making all content available on available
Learning Management System (LMS) software.

The project has the potential to bring about a positive change
and render great service to humanity. It is a profitable venture
with global reach and addresses large high growth market
segments. Although the current development work is being
carried out with limited available resources, the team behind it is
very excited to take the project to the next levels.
