1. Consider several of the children introduced in the first
 half of Kring's novel, including Button and Winnalee. Map
    out the ways in which these characters are diverse.

   2. Add your conclusions at the bottom (Notes). On the
  surface, the child characters may appear similar. What
types of diversity do you find? What conclusions do you draw?
