3. Step 1: Isolation
Isolation in quadrants utilizing a clamp and rubber dam

Removal of old dentistry

After rendering cavity as caries-free, enamel margins are beveled

Cavity is etched, and a dentin-bonding agent is placed and polymerized for 30 seconds

Flowable composite is placed, then polymerized for 40 seconds

Composite resin is laid out in 2mm x 1mm increments in the light well of a composite heater

The dentin mass is modeled on a cusp-by-cusp bases, oblique layering and
polymerizing each separate cusp to reduce “C-Factor” stresses

Enamel tints are applied. The enamel shade composite is built up.
Each increment is polymerized for three seconds.
