3. Message
from the Chairman
In this ever-changing world, consultancies are required
to find prompt and effective solutions to the new and critical
challenges which are constantly emerging. Through their expertise,
accrued experience and state-of-the-art technology, the staff of
TEAM GROUP are able to meet these requirements and in the
process develop their specializations. This has led to the Group’s
becoming the top-ranked Thai consultant in its areas. To give one
example of our success, faced with the world’s ongoing energy
problems and the need to develop alternative energy, we have
played a vital role in many projects involving clean energy and
energy conservation and, helping to alleviate the problem of climate
change, TEAM GROUP has devised a multitude of innovative
outcomes. TEAM GROUP is foremost among consulting service
providers which assist the public and private sectors in developing
such measures. Our other works include services in
environmentally-friendly buildings, planning and development of
pollution-free transit systems, environmental management, solid
waste and wastewater management, and waste-to-energy.
In 2009, TEAM GROUP was entrusted with a number of
important projects in both Thailand and neighboring countries.
The year thus represented an important phase in TEAM GROUP’s
growth. In addition to our ability to address new challenges,
another key to this success is our capacity to offer integrated
solutions delivered by a professional workforce, focused solely on
the optimal satisfaction of the client. Effective and timely
solutions within budget are always assured.
Decades-long experience and the trust we have obtained
build our confidence in directing the organization toward
international expansion, especially in the Southeast Asian region.
I strongly believe that our highly professional staff will be able to
prove the potential of Thai consultants in the international arena
and, as they have already done in Thailand, steer TEAM GROUP to
the position of leading consultancy in this region.

13. Another Challenging
yet Successful Year
Due to our dedication to realizing our vision and values, in 2009 we not
only successfully completed previously established projects, but were also newly
engaged in far-reaching projects initiated by the public and private
sectors, both in Thailand and in neighboring countries.
In particular, two affiliates – TEAM Consulting and Management
(Cambodia) Co., Ltd. and TEAM LAO Co., Ltd. – had wider opportunities to
become involved in local projects, which added to their experience and
enhanced their potential to be stepping stones into the wider region.
Some of the projects we were entrusted with in 2009 are presented in this
annual report, categorized into the areas of building and infrastructure,
transportation and logistics, environment, water resources, energy,
management and training, and communications and public participation.

SQ Architects and Planners Co., Ltd. is one of two companies in
Thailand that currently introduce the Building Information Modeling (BIM) (BIM) *
to their work* BIM
BIM is the process of generating and managing building data during
its life cycle. Typically it uses three-dimensional, real-time, dynamic
building modeling software to increase productivity in building design and
construction. The model represents the whole building components,
construction procedure, as well as properties and quantity of materials,
thus enhancing the accuracy of cost estimation, building structure design as
well as construction management and facility management planning.

To promote sustainable transport for the people of the
Bangkok region, TEAM GROUP has provided assistance
in all stages of the development of Bangkok’s
mass transit system. This has ranged from master
planning to design and construction supervision.
We have also been entrusted with traffic management

The Mass Transit Master Plan in the Bangkok 20 ( 2553-
Metropolitan Region (M-MAP) requires a comprehensive 2572)
study covering all aspects of the rail transit system, its 8 4
environmental impacts and public participation in the
capital’s mass transit network. The study will lead to the
formulation of a 20-year mass transit system action plan
(2010-2029) for Bangkok and its environs. Featuring a radial
and circumferential pattern, the network is initially divided
into 12 inter-connecting lines. In the interests of the public,
the master plan specifies the creation of an integrated mass
transport network with the use of a common ticket and fare
rate structure. The plan will also act as a master plan for all
agencies concerned.
TEAM GROUP assisted with feasibility studies
investigating alternative routes, new feeder routes,
prioritization of alternative routes, financial and
implementation planning, and environmental impact
assessment.

environmental quality examination for the 18
extension of natural gas pipeline to the Government
Complex on Chaeng Watthana Road and the
National Energy Center throughout the 18-month
construction. The extension covered the areas in

We also monitored the security, health and .
environmental specifications, as defined by PTT.
The main line starts from the existing pipeline
system around Rangsit railway station, runs along
the railway and merges with the Suvarnabhumi-
Phaya Thai NGV pipeline at Phaya Thai railway -
station. There are secondary lines to the Bang Kadi
Industrial Park, the Government Complex, the
National Energy Center and the Royal Chitralada 41.85
Projects. These combine to form a total length of
41.85 kilometers.
The project will have the added benefit of
encouraging more extensive use of natural gas in
transportation, industry and businesses. This is in
response to the government’s policy to promote the
use of alternative energy.

The current installed capacity for electricity generation in
Southern Thailand amounts to 2,485.58 MW. Major generators
include the private Khanom thermal power plant in Nakhon Si 42
Thammarat (824 MW), the Krabi thermal power plant in Krabi (340
MW) and the first unit of Chana combined cycle power plant in
Songkhla (725 MW). To ensure sufficient electricity supply for 2557
economic and industrial development and to strengthen national
energy stability, EGAT planned the construction of a second unit at 860
Chana power plant in 2011 as a substitute for the Khanom power
plant, which is due to close in 2016. Construction will take 1
approximately 42 months. The new power plant, with an installed
capacity of about 860 MW, is slated to operate in July 2014.
Having assessed the environmental impacts resulting from the
construction and operation of the first unit, TEAM GROUP was 2
entrusted with conducting social, environmental and health impact

TEAM GROUP was appointed the consultant for
the master plan development of the wastewater 4
management in four major river basins around
Thailand, namely Mae Sa river basin in the North,
Chao Phraya river basin in the Central part, Huai Sam
Mo river basin in the Northeast and Songkhla lake
basin in the South. Quality of water resources in these
basins has been declined due to the community
expansion and human activities.
The master plan will serve as a framework for the
development of a community wastewater
management master plan and investment. It will also
provide a database for wastewater management in 4 Mike 11
the communities of these four basins. By using Mike 11
software program, the study will provide cause-effect
analysis and solutions to the wastewater management
in each basin to tackle the current water resource
problems and prevent the reoccurrence.
Mike 11 is a software program used in the simulation of water flow. The Mike 11
software models water flow characteristics and levels as well as the flow
of sediments in waterways and flooded areas. This assists in the analysis
of water quality and in flood prevention.
