4. Definition of renewable
source of energy
The renewable energy definition describes how renewables are
an infinite source of energy.
Renewable energy has been in use for thousands of years in
one way or another. An example of this is how our ancestors
used the wind for sailing, and we now use the wind to generate electricity.
12. Hydropower or water power is power
derived from the energy of falling water, which may be harnessed for useful
purposes.
13. Since ancient times, hydropower
has been used for irrigation and the operation of various mechanical devices,
such as watermills, sawmills, textile
mills, dock cranes, domestic lifts and paint making.
17. The Three Gorges Dam is a hydroelectric dam that spans the
Yangtze River by the town of Sandouping, located in Yiling District, Yichang, Hubei province, China. The Three Gorges Dam is the
world's largest power station in terms of installed capacity . In the year of
2012, the amount of electricity the dam generated is neck to neck
with the Itaipu Dam.
