2. This unit does not correlate to one chapter in the textbook. Start a new section in your notebook titled: “Common Gases and Environmental Problems.”
3. All notes, activities, and assignments are posted on Blackboard. Complete all activities and assignments in order. You may not be able to view the next assignment folder for three reasons. You must complete certain assignments in a folder to be able to view the next folder. (Adaptive Release) You must complete an assignment and earn a certain score to be able to view the next folder. Example: You must score 80% or higher on an online quiz. Certain assignment folders may only be available starting on a certain date.
4. Deadlines to complete assignments will be posted in “Announcements.” You will work at your own pace as long as you meet deadlines posted in “Announcements.” You may work on activities and assignments outside of class.
6. Questions that we focus on and answer include: What are common properties and uses of common gases? What are the root causes of the following environmental problems? Ozone depletion / the ozone hole Acid rain Global warming What gases produced by human activities cause environmental problems? What are common alternative energy sources and how could their use minimize human impact on the environment?
