THiS Introductory Assembly

6. Partnership between Haydon School and Cambridge University students. A project for year 12 ending in February. A scheme to raise awareness about sexuality and gender in Haydon. You complete mini-projects in groups to educate the rest of the school about an LGBT issue. You choose your group, the topic and the form of your mini-project: Powerpoint, leaflet, poster, campaign, performance, stall. Win prizes, awards and a certificate recognised by a national organisation.
7. 10 January Get thinking about LGBT issues, what you’d like to do and who you’d like to work with. Start researching!
8. 17 January The THiS team will be in to answer any questions you have. Official beginning point of your mini-project.
9. 7 February Coming towards the end of your mini-project. The THiS team will be in for any last-minute help you need and to see what you have created.
10. 11 February Deadline to have send a copy of your mini-project to THiS team (via website), to judge for prizes. Get your creations on the school system!
11. 14 February You get awarded by your efforts towards THiS Project in an award assembly. The top 10 groups will get special prizes!
12. How to be a top 10 group Be passionate about your project. Research well. Keep to deadlines and be organised (in your group and with school). Target your content at your audience. Keep the THiS team informed or ask for advice. Be proud of what you’re doing and why.
