The Flag and Anthem are very important for the
Turkish people. The Flag is a respected symbol for the
Turks that should always be on the top.
It symbolises the national independence war made
between 1919 to 1923. The red color symbolises the
blood and the star with moon the independence.

16. The Porsuk River
The county of
Eskişehir is situated
in the western part
of Central Anatolia.
It has a population
of approximately
750,000 distributed
among thirteen
towns. Its average
altitude is 792
meters.
17. The Sakarya River (Sangarius), which flows to the Black Sea, and the Porsuk
River (Tembris) that joins it, constitute the borders and natural structure of
Eskişehir.
Eskişehir has developed into one of the most important educational,

mining individually,

in the world.
Known of since ancient times, this mysterious stone had initially been
used for different purposes.

The early Phrygian
period inscriptions
are found densely in
Phrygian Valley,
Eskişehir. It was
found that
Phyrigians played
an important role in
the spread of the
Phonecian alphabet
to the west.
