Does technology help you save time or make you waste it?

According to the latest requests to people, the majority of them confirm
technology saves them a lot of time, but the rest of people do not.
From my point of view, saving time by making things easier is, actually,
the purpose of technology. But technology can also be a waste of time,
I mean, I get resignedly bemused when I see how people stare at a
computer for more than 2 hours probably doing nothing, as playing or
chatting.

On the one hand, technology is a way of making things a lot easier and
faster just because of the fact that if you need something at the moment
or speak to someone you just have to make the effort of looking for it on
the internet and calling with your phone in minutes.

On the other hand, technology can also be a waste of time since there
are people that most of their time spent at computers, phones is
absolutely needless but as nowadays people are used to living day a
day with this technology and new generations do grow with it, we use it
either if it's needless or not.

On balance then, I feel that technology can be either the worst wasting
time thing but also the best one to save it only if you know how to take
advantage of its good things.
