This document describes three experiments where genes involved in DNA mismatch repair were knocked down in cells. Knocking down MLH1 or MSH2 did not significantly shorten cell lifespan with p-values above 0.05. However, knocking down EXO1 did significantly shorten lifespan with a p-value of 0.0388. Overall lifespan was not shortened when the genes were knocked down and the DNA was damaged with gamma rays.
