The user performs the search on their computer in SwetsWise Searcher, the search is send to the back-end of SwetsWise Searcher and there the search will be sent to the different sources, this ensures the search is performed simultaneously in all the sources. The sources are not grouped and then searched ‘simultaneously’. In the back-end the search query is translated according to the settings of the databases, for example with dates, stemming, truncation. All the results from the sources are all taken back to the back end, which means that there is not a maximum of results per source. In the back-end the results are ranked based on their relevance. From the back-end they are send to the end user. And yes, too read this takes longer than it takes the results to be displayed ;)
