What I did… “Monopoly” Game Ideally 5-10 Round Tables  6-8 Customers 1 Product Moderator 1 Speaker (Customer) Product Manager Leads overall session Each customer receives 10M Product Bucks
My Rules…
What Worked… Dynamics No ranting, no grumbling, no bore
What Worked for me… Quantitative AND Transparent $$ had to have Name & Company to be counted
What Worked for Prioritization… $1M on 10 Features or $10M on 1 Feature
What Worked… Most Importantly! Customers took ownership of their features! Customers had to pitch for their features They started answering each other
What Customers Liked… Transparency Year over year, results were published and tracked Customers who got features implemented in past year were the loudest!!!  Happy & Loud 
What did not Work so Well…
What Surprised Me? We have never been surprised! Granted, we did a lot of Customer visits or phone discussions Customer engagement in Community Etc.
What happened next? Expanded to other less mature products Same Success!

  • 4. What I did… “Monopoly” Game Ideally 5-10 Round Tables 6-8 Customers 1 Product Moderator 1 Speaker (Customer) Product Manager Leads overall session Each customer receives 10M Product Bucks
  • 6. What Worked… Dynamics No ranting, no grumbling, no bore
  • 7. What Worked for me… Quantitative AND Transparent $$ had to have Name & Company to be counted
  • 8. What Worked for Prioritization… $1M on 10 Features or $10M on 1 Feature
  • 9. What Worked… Most Importantly! Customers took ownership of their features! Customers had to pitch for their features They started answering each other
  • 10. What Customers Liked… Transparency Year over year, results were published and tracked Customers who got features implemented in past year were the loudest!!! Happy & Loud 
  • 11. What did not Work so Well…
  • 12. What Surprised Me? We have never been surprised! Granted, we did a lot of Customer visits or phone discussions Customer engagement in Community Etc.
  • 13. What happened next? Expanded to other less mature products Same Success!
