7. Why you should consider Spinal Decompression instead of surgery or medications Surgery may initially bring relief but it may require future surgeries due to added stress to adjacent areas. On the other side, spinal decompression here has minimal failure rates and has short recovery time. It is effective and non invasive. In comparison with medication, spinal decompressions don’t just give temporary relief from pain. It treats pain and prevents it from worsening and recurring. Also, prolonged use of medication with stronger doses may increase risk of addiction, may damage liver, kidney and GIT, and may cause fatigue and depression. Spinal decompression not only targets pain symptoms it also avoids unnecessary side effects.
8. How it works Spinal decompression creates negative pressures within the disc by gently extending and decompressing the spine. The negative pressure produces an intradiscal vacuum that removes pressures pinched nerves and repositions bulging discs putting it back into its place. This is known to draw nutrients, oxygen and fluids into the disc making an environment favorable to healing.
9. Side Effects Most patients do not experience any side effects. Though, for some cases, patients may experience muscle spasm for a short period of time. How long does Treatment last? Spinal Decompression Therapy sessions last approximately 30 mins per session, with most cases lasting 6 to 8 weeks in duration. (starts at 4 days per week for 2 weeks, then 3 days a week for 2 weeks, then 2 times a week for 1 to 2 weeks)
