 GHANA:-
 Ghana , officially the Republic of Ghana, is a
country in West Africa. The word Ghana means
"Warrior King" and is derived from the
ancient Ghana Empire. The Gold Coast achieved
independence from the United Kingdom in
    1957,becoming the first sub-Saharan African
nation to do so, from European colonialism.
 Ghana is one of the largest cocoa producers in
the world, and is also home to Lake Volta, the
largest artificial lake in the world by surface
    area
 FORT CHRISTIANSBORG:-
    Christiansborg Castle was the headquarters
     for Denmark-Norway's commercial activities
on the Gold Coast and it still bears the
monogram of King Christian VII, ruler of the
twin monarchy. The earliest constructions are
from 1661. The trade with Europe was for
     muskets, bullets, gunpowder, brandy,
textiles, iron rods, cowrie shells, etc., which
were exchanged for slaves, ivory and gold,
and other products. In 1850 the Castle was
sold to Britain, along with all the other
     Danish forts and lodges. Today
Christiansborg serves as the seat of
government for the Republic of Ghana and is
not at present open for the general public.
FORT FREDENSBORG
 Fort Fredensborg, meaning Castle of Peace,
was constructed during the years 1736-42.
The fortress was located at Ningo for
strategic reasons: to attract trade on the
eastern coast, to prevent competition from
the Dutch and English forts in Accra, and to
enable trade exchanges with Portuguese and
French ships in particular. Though fairly
small, Fort Fredensborg played a key role in
    Danish-Norwegian trade during the eighteenth
century. The fort was described by
contemporary observers as one of the most
    beautiful buildings on the coast.
 YAK:-
 Yaks are heavily built animals with a bulky frame,
sturdy legs, and rounded cloven hooves. They are the
only wild bovids of this size with extremely dense,
long fur that hangs down lower than the belly. Wild
yaks are generally dark, blackish to brown, in pelage
coloration. However, domestic yaks can be quite
variable in color, often having patches of rusty brown
and cream. They have small ears and a wide forehead,
with smooth horns that are generally dark in colour.
In males, the horns sweep out from the sides of the
head, and then curve forward; they typically range
from 48 to 99 cm (19 to 39 in) in length. The horns
of females are smaller, only 27 to 64 cm (11 to 25 in)
in length, and have a more upright shape.
 God Bless our homeland Ghana,
And make our nation great and strong,
Bold to defend for ever the cause of Freedom and of Right.
Fill our hearts with true humility
    Make us cherish fearless honesty,
And help us to resist oppressor's rule
With all our will and might for evermore.

 Hail to they name, O Ghana.
    To thee we make our solemn vow;
    Steadfast to build together
    A nation stong in Unity;
With our gifts of mind and strength of arm,
Whether night or day, in mist or storm,
In every need whate'er the call may be,
To serve thee, Ghana, now and evermore.

 Raise high the flag of Ghana,
    And one with Africa advance;
Black Star of hope and honour,
    To all who thirst for liberty;
Where the naner of Ghana freely flies,
May the way to freedom truly lie
Arise, arise, O sons of Ghanaland.
And under God march on for evermore.
 The Ghana Cedi is the unit
of currency of Ghana. The word "cedi" is
derived from the Akan word for cowry
shell(Cowry shells were once used in Ghana as
a form of currency). The new Ghana cedi was
introduced on 1 July 2007 at a rate equal to
    10,000 old cedis.
 One Ghana cedi is divided into one hundred
    Ghana pesewas.
 A number of Ghanaian coins have also been
    issued in Sika denominations. The
word sika means "gold". The Ghanaian cedi
symbol ¢ is a letter C struck through with a
    vertical or slightly angled bar.
 Ghana is a country located on the Gulf of
Guinea, only a few degrees north of
the Equator, therefore giving it a warm climate. The
country spans an area of 238,500
km2 (92,085 sq mi). It is surrounded by Togo to the
east, Ivory Coast to the west, Burkina Faso to the
north and the Gulf of Guinea (Atlantic Ocean) to the
    south. Ghana lies between
    latitudes 4° and 12°N, and longitudes 4°W and 2°E.
 The flag of Ghana consists of red, gold and
green horizontal strips with a five pointed
black star in the centre of the gold stripe.
The color red represents the blood of those
who died in the country's struggle for
independence: gold stands for the minerals
wealth, while green symbolizes the rich
forest. The star represents the lonestar of
    African freedom.

     the English language.
 Language classification
Older classifications group them as Kwa, Gur, and Mande:
 Kwa languages (Akan, Bia, Guang in Tano; Ga and Adangme)

 Football (soccer) is the national sport in Ghana. The
Ghanaian National Soccer team, the Black Stars, has
for decades been one of the top teams in Africa. The
Black Stars have won the Africa Nations Cup four
    times (1963, 1965, 1978 and 1982). The team made
its debut at the FIFA world cup in Germany in 2006,
reaching the second round after performances against
Italy (lost 2-0), before beating the United States (2-
    1) and Czech Republic (2-0). Other popular sports
include field hockey, volleyball, track and field, tennis,
    and boxing.
