All boys spartans

3. Spartans
Real Spartans/ Fake spartans
Spartans most famous for the war against the persian empire
Set standards in history for how to make an indestructible army
Later known for helping Greece conquer Troy in the Trojan war

4. Schedule for a Spartan Boy
6:00-8:30 Physical fitness
Consisted mainly of/
Moving led shields
Stretching
Sprinting in body armor
Moving heavy objects

5. 8:30-12:00 Weapon training with swords
For boys above 10 used sharpened battle ready swords
boys under 10 used hard wood carven (dummy swords)
trained in large groups and would maneuver the weapons
simultaneously
if students (goofed off) would have to fight one who was
obviously better than one who had to fight

6. 12:00-1:00 Lunch
Boys encouraged to to steal from markets, others, houses, etc.
if caught faced death, hard labor for years, etc.
This was only option on other hand

7. 1:00-5:00 Weapon training with shields
projectiles thrown at boys and were forced to block them
Later hand to hand combat with shields and swords enforced
many suffered severe injury if not death with these tasks

8. • 5:00-10:00 P.M. Face off

9. 10:00-11:00 Athletics
almost only running
had little social time to play games
All other time devoted to competition or physical fitness

10. 11:30-1:00 Punishment
punishments/
lashing
hard labor
sprinting
etc.

11. • 1:00-6:00 Good Night
• Straw (home made) bed
