headquartered start up, is the brainchild of 3 first generation entrepreneurs, Ashok,
Subash and Shashibushan, who quit their cushy corporate jobs to embark on this
pioneering effort at making car rental booking easy for customers in India.
The Background
Online travel market has been one of the most exciting ones over past few years
from a growth standpoint with the successful adoption of online booking for flights,
trains and buses in India. However, car rental booking continues to be a difficult,
time consuming, frustrating, harrowing manual experience for customers. None of
the online travel agents in India today offer a nationwide online car rental booking
service. New and old generation radio taxis are also unable to satisfy the increasing
need for personal mobility of customers. The car rental and taxi market in India is
estimated to be in the region of Rs. 10000 crores according to various reports. Online
travel in India is estimated to be in the region of Rs. 8000 crores.
The Service

make car rental booking simple, easy and convenient in India was launched on 9th
October 2010 in Bangalore by 3 first generation entrepreneurs, Ashok, Subash and
Shashibushan.
Ashok Ananthakrishnan, the CEO at the launch ceremony said “taxiGUIDE.in provides
