Adverbs
Add information in relation to circumstances of manner,
time or place. They answer the questions . ‘How?’, ‘
When?’, ‘Where’
For example:
Ken snores loudly.
In this example the adverb(loudly) is said to MODIFY the
verb, and it is called circumstance adverb.

4. An adverb phrase
Consists of an adverb preceded optionally
by a degree adverb.

5. ADVERB PHRASE
Can be formed by one or more constituents. For
example, in:
Ken snores loudly.
Ken snores very loudly.
Loudly is the circumstance adverb (Adv) and very is a
DEGREE ADVERB (deg).
Other degree adverbs include words like quite , too ,
highly ,extremely ,more ,less.
Degree adverb is to modify or limit the sense of an
adverb.

- Can appear in a range of sentence positions
- Express an attitude or evolution
-They include words like frankly, certainly, Actually , perhaps,
unfortunately.
