the 5th of August 1930. He
was the oldest out of three.

• His first job was in the
United States navy. He was
a jet pilot he knew exactly
how it worked. Even if they
didn’t know if it worked
he’d try it. He nearly left the
Earth’s atmosphere when he
flew to a height of 18.3
kilometers.
• After that he was a test pilot
for rockets.
5. Lift off
Neil Armstrong, Michael
Collins and Buzz Aldrin all
went up to space in Apollo 11 to
become the first men to walk on
the moon.
Every one in the U.S.A. and the
world was silent, over the radio
