These are procedures I use for managing a variety of tasks related to the job
description of Senior Planner. Particularly, in the collection of miscellaneous anecdotal
information, it is important to be able to quickly document and recall critical
information.
Issue Tracking
• Use note taking software that I can search for keywords later on when revising
contracts, developing grant applications, and program development.
• Maintain file folders for saving hard copies of various materials received. Allows
for quick access during research.
• Use Desktop Wiki software to annotate, summarize and describe the contents of
the filing system.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate activities concerned with research and development of new concepts,
ideas, basic data gathering, and applications for organization's services.
• Hold committee meetings
• Collection of data

• Reviewing information and proof reading
• Hold brainstorming sessions using data, reports, survey information, and needs
assessments.
• Work independently, exercise professional judgment
Program planning, reporting, grant proposals/modifications, and monitoring in
conjunction with field and administration office staff
• Development of schedules, procedures, and training of personnel.
• Problem solving with personnel.
• Maintain communication with all personnel

operations.

Bachelor's degree in a related field; or six years' directly related experience and/or
training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Advanced computer skills required for data entry, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals,
financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or
complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business
community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to
prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top
management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

• Appropriate selection of vocabulary and description techniques to convey clear
and concise information.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLSMATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions,
proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts
of basic algebra and geometry.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in
situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of
instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Access to transportation, California driver's license, and minimum auto insurance as
required by law. Must maintain a good driving record.
