Antonio Vivaldi was born in Venice in 1678 and was baptized shortly after due to health issues or an earthquake. He was ordained as a priest in 1703 and worked as a violin teacher and composer, producing over 40 operas and 400 orchestral works. As a priest, he worked at a school for girls called Ospedale della Pietà. His most famous work is The Four Seasons, which uses the violin to depict different seasons without percussion. Vivaldi struggled financially late in life and died in poverty in 1741.
