Say, “today we are going to learn about idioms. We have all heard popular expressions that have been around for many years. Can anyone tell me what an idiom is?” Wait for any answers from the class and discuss.

I will then click the action button to go over the definition of the idiom again. I will then bring them back to this slide. I will have each group come up with an idiom with which they are familiar. I would have one representative from the first group come and write their chosen idiom on the board in front of the class. I would lead a discussion explaining why or why not it was correctly chosen, and what it means.
