How do your chosen texts attract their audiences?
This is a very broad question that takes in strands of Marketing/Promotion,
Audience Classification and obviously Audience Appeal

You could analyse the poster and trailer to discuss how this gives an indication of the
different audiences. The two main ones being, people who were the same age as the characters
are in that era and would be interested from a nostalgic point of view, the other key audience
which Meadows discussed targeting people who are now the same age as the characters to
raise issues surrounding racism, adolescence etc. For both audiences Personal Identity is key.
This is a challenging movie that may appeal to those who want a film that makes you think –
discuss the specific appeals of its political nature, its grittiness and how hard-hitting it can be.

Don’t forget that there are some funny bits in this film as well as some excellent and
