Adam Hyde was selected as the winner of the Iron Twistologist bartending competition for his creation of the Sweet Heat cocktail, winning $200 and a promotional campaign. Aaron Pierce was chosen by the audience as the People's Choice winner for his creative flair routine, winning $100 and a year's supply of Spirit Twisters. The competition at The Arch Bar saw seven local bartenders craft cocktails using Spirit Twisters flavor enhancers and other liquors to be evaluated on taste, presentation, creativity and showmanship.

1. Spirit Twisters Announces winners of the Iron Twistologist Bartending competition
Athens, G.A., Oct. 12 – The Classic City was abuzz Tuesday night as seven of Athens’ best
bartenders faced off in the Iron Twistologist Bartender competition presented by Spirit
Twisters™. Athens residents packed The Arch Bar to watch contestants craft signature
drinks while being evaluated by a panel of judges on taste of drink, presentation, flair,
creativity, and overall showmanship. Contestants created their signature drinks using Spirit
Twisters™ flavor enhancers, Svedka™ vodka, and other liquors, mixers, & garnishes.
Adam Hyde, an independent bartender, was selected by the judges as the Iron Twistologist
for his creation Sweet Heat--a fiery but succulent watermelon and jalapeño infused cocktail
topped with Champagne (for complete recipe, see below). For his creation, Hyde won the
title of Iron Twistologist, $200 in cash, and will be showcased in a Spirit Twisters promotional
campaign.
The audience of over 200 selected Aaron Pierce, representing The Bad Manor, as the
People’s Choice winner for his creative flair routine that included juggling multiple bottles and
riding a unicycle on top of the bar. For his originality and showmanship, Pierce won $100
cash prize and a one-year supply of Spirit Twisters.
The Mad Hatter’s Asa Goldberg, impressed both the crowd and the judges by presenting
Sex with Superman, a multi-layered tri-color shot that was as much a work of art as a smooth
taste sensation. Ryan Rearden from the Cotton Club, presented judges the Twist & Shout, a
rich and fruity martini topped with Whipped Cream and a Lemon Drop Spirit Twisters drizzle.
David Asman, from Allgood Lounge, fired the crowd up with his signature cocktail--Hot Sex
with a Mounds Bar, a flaming layered citrus and coconut cocktail. Other drinks were creative
takes on traditional drinks--Billy Hale, from The Raw Bar, delivered an alternative to the
martini, The Mantini, while Matt Dearborn entertained the crowd by rocking a mullet and
creating a Malt Beverage and Spirit Twisters™ Bomb.
Ernie Mitchell, founder of Spirit Twisters™, applauded the creative flair of each contestant
stating, “(The participants) really captured the essence of Spirit Twisters™, showcasing the
products versatility by making cocktails and shots that ranged from Wild to Mild.”

Sweet Heat
1 part Watermelon Spirit Twisters
1 part Lemon Drop Spirit Twisters
1 cup chopped Watermelon
1 chopped jalapeño pepper
Champagne
Muddle ¼ cup of watermelon and two tablespoons of sliced jalapeño pepper in bottom of
cocktail glass. Add 2 oz of Svedka™ Vodka, 2 teaspoons of Watermelon Spirit Twisters, and

watermelon and jalapeño pepper.
