6. Logging in/Creating an Account You can now sign up for an individual account, or log in if you’ve already registered.
12. Navigating RefWorks The Bibliography is used to create a list of all your RefWorks references, or just a specific folder or a predefined list. This is not your references list / list of sources

16. Getting References into RefWorks Choose any database from the list provided …. An example would be Academic Search Premier available via EbscoHost.

19. Getting References into RefWorks Click on Export to export the references you’ve marked In the next window, tick “ Direct Export to RefWorks ” and then on Save .
20. Getting References into RefWorks RefWorks will open up automatically and you will see the importing screen. As soon as importing is complete, you will be able see how many references were imported. Click on View Last Imported Folder to view the references

22. To create a New Folder, click on Folders and then on Create New folder Type in the name of your new folder and click on ok. Organising References
23. You can now select your references from the Last Imported Folder and Put them in your new folder (marked in red) Once you’ve done that they will be copied to the new folder, and you can delete them from the Last Imported Folder Organising References

29. Adding a reference by using RefGrab-It RefGrab-It works with your browser to capture bibliographic information from web pages giving you the option to import that data into your RefWorks account. If an ISBN number, PubMed ID or DOI exist on the web page, RefGrab-It will automatically search various web resources to get supplemental information that may be of interest to you. RefWorks may also locate RSS feeds related to that web page. When you use RefGrab-It on a web page, it automatically opens a "temporary results page" in a new window. You can view the information and additional resources first, then decide if you want to import the data.

40. Create a bibliography: using Write-N-Cite Once complete W-n-C will be a toolbar attached to Word. It will also be a shortcut on your desktop.

42. Getting your reference into Word and writing your research Type your research as you would normally and when you are ready to add a citation, click on the Write-N-Cite icon ~ the RefWorks log-in page will be displayed, so please log in using the Group Code and your username and password .

46. Getting your reference into Word and writing your research We now need to add the page numbers. To do this click on the Edit Citation link to add the page numbers

Getting your reference into Word and writing your research The citation has been added, do NOT worry about the number and the {{ }} or the /s, that is just how RefWorks adds it, when you are ready to print out the final version (once you’ve added the bibliography) the citation formatting will change.
49. Getting your reference into Word and writing your research Once you have added all the citations, and you want to include the bibliography, click on Write-N-Cite again and then click on Bibliography
51. Getting your reference into Word and writing your research You will be asked to choose an Output Style i.e. in what reference format should your bibliography be. Choose one from the list and click on Create Bibliography
53. Remember that you are still responsible for the final editing and cleanup of your references. RefWorks saves you time, but does not do spell-checking or editing of any of the references imported from the databases, manually or from feeds. your references clean
