1. What is the difference between a
teaser trailer and a full trailer? What
is the idea behind a teaser and a full
trailer, what should it do for the
audience?
3. • A teaser trailer aims to give as little away as
possible, they are often released to entice the
audience to watch the film but sometimes
used for sequels so that ‘die hard’ fans can see
that the sequel is going to made and gives
them some sort of aspect as to what to
expect, without giving away any details about
what actually happens throughout the film. A
teaser trailer can be anything from 30 seconds
- 1.5 minutes long.
4. • A ‘full’ trailer is used to advertise a film.
Showing the majority of the twists and giving
away as much of the plot without spoiling the
film. A full trailer can be anything from 2-4
minutes long and usually features a
soundtrack that will be from the film itself. A
full trailer is designed to reel in a much bigger
wider audience to be played in cinemas and
on TV.
5. • The idea behind a teaser trailer is that it
‘teases’ the audience. Giving them a tiny
segment of what the film actually is, this helps
to create fans of the film, sometimes before it
is actually made. The idea behind it is to reel
in a fan base and to also make the
viewer/audience want to follow the whole
production of the film and watch the entire
film itself. The teaser trailer will show
favourite/main characters which are often
well known to also help build an audience.
