Reinhold Heuvelmann from the German National Library presented on their work with BIBFRAME in 2013. This included learning about the BIBFRAME model and vocabulary, discussions on mapping their existing formats like Pica and MARC to BIBFRAME, and developing a prototype to demonstrate conversions. Some of the challenges discussed were that the BIBFRAME data was not yet activated, was based on the 2013 vocabulary, and had no documentation. Next steps mentioned included synchronizing with BIBFRAME vocabulary version 1.0, expanding authority representations, and including the BIBFRAME data in regular data releases.
