Moses And Exodus
I am going to be talking about Moses and the law it was written in the book of exodus. Moses
was born a Hebrew in Egypt. Hebrews we re an Israelite slave in Egypt at the time when Moses
was born Hebrews started to expand so large that the Egyptians started getting terrified and
saying what if the Hebrews outgrow us? If they outgrow us that means the Hebrew will out
number the Egyptians so therefore if the Hebrews wanted to take over they will be able to
because they outnumber the Egyptians. Pharaoh came up with this idea If he killed all Hebrew
baby boys at birth he wouldn t have to worry about that problem so Pharaoh ordered that all
Hebrew baby boys are to be put to death at birth.
Moses mother had been hiding him for three months she was afraid of keeping him any longer
The reason they hid him for just three months was, because during that period he was able to
remain a bit more silent and discreet, and wasn t very conspicuous to people outside of his home;
but as he grew older, this quickly changed and something had to be done. Not knowing what else
to do because the child was so loud and hard to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One day while Moses was working out with the herds he sees a burning bush which was strange
and approaches the burning bush he hears the loud voice of god saying go back to Egypt and
help free the Hebrews. Moses wanted to know what was the name of the spirit that was talking
because at the time there was many gods that people believed in but god wouldn t give his name
and said I will be who I will be . Moses went back to Egypt to ask Pharaoh to let the Hebrews free
but pharaoh said no because he didn t want to lose his slaves and at the time the Hebrews was
working on a grand building for him.bad things began to happen in Egypt all because Pharaoh didn
t want to let them go and bad things happened until he had let the Hebrew

High Fat Diet Bad For Mental Health
Introduction
For this assignment I am going to analyze the popular press article High fat diet bad for mental
health, may lead to depression featured in Tech Times Magazine. During which I will examine
their claim against the actual, scientific data in the Biological Psychiatry Journal. This analysis will
provide insight on how popular press articles may misinterpret a study and spread false information
to the public.
Summary: Tech Times Magazine
In the article the author, James Maynard, tried to interpret a study published by Biological
Psychiatry Journal on Obese type Gut Microbiota Induce Neurobehavioral Changes in the Absence
of Obesity. Maynard found that mice from the study were fed different types of foods: one high in
fat and the other in normal chow diet. The rats that were fed the fat enriched diet showed some
symptoms of anxiety and forgetfulness, while the other rats were seemingly okay. In these
findings, Maynard makes and Association claim that High fat diets can cause Depression and
other psychological risks. The article does not advocate for a change in diet, but does not give any
reference to other possible causes to the lab results.
Summary: Biological Psychiatry Journal
The study intended to look at the gut microbiome that is naturally present within the gut. The
research team of the Louisiana State University designed an experiment with lab rats to predict how
the manipulation of the gut microbiome with a high fat diet would affect their brain

Mcelwain Argumentative Analysis
Stricklin said the sides reached an agreement in principle to settle McElwain s $12.5 million
buyout, but he declined to reveal details until the deal is signed. This is more than just wins and
losses, Stricklin said. I ll just leave it at that. Florida (3 4, 3 3 Southeastern Conference), which
is still paying former coach Will Muschamp, hoped to significantly reduce McElwain s sum and
likely used his actions over the last week as leverage. Regardless, McElwain s tenure will be
remembered for failing to fix a floundering offense. Three years ago, McElwain proclaimed he
could win with his dog at quarterback. The Gators currently rank 113th in total offense, in triple
digits nationally for the third time in McElwain s three seasons. When

Classroom Management And The Classroom
Classroom Management
Explain the goal of the plan, including the grade level it addresses. Classroom management is
important in Pre K classrooms. The teacher should maintain control in her classroom at all times.
One of the most effective interventions in the classroom is the student s goal. When the goal
between the student and the teacher has met a new goal is created. Teacher should set up behavior
management instead of punishment in the classroom. Many teachers leave their profession due to
lack of knowing how to use the proper management skills. My goal is to introduce a set of rules
and follow the routine of the classroom daily. Poor discipline at the beginning of the school year
will provide students the opportunity to spin out of control. When I have to stop activities to
redirect a student from disruption, it cheats other students from their time of learning. I am
consistent with following the rule when they are broken then and not later. The student outs of
control are dealt with in a less conspicable way. I do not make a scene in front of the other
student. I quietly remove the student from the group and direct him to a quiet time setting and go
over the rule and explain why he was removed. The assistant in the classroom continues with the
activities so other students would feel comfortable and safe. 3 5 years old student is learning,
reasoning and problem solving skills at a rapid pace. Playtime gives students the opportunity to
become organized and improve

Song Of Napalm Essay
Song of Napalm and my life experiences
It often happens that literature leaves us pondering over things that happen in our life. It
won t be wrong to say that some works leave us intrigued and even intimidated. It varies
from person to person, the effect that literary works have on the mind. When I talk about
myself, few literary works, especially a few poems, have always left me thinking about the
ways of life. Here, I would like to mention that Bruce Weigl s , song of Napalm , has always
been one of my much admired poem and the one poem that I have been able to relate to

Today, I am a 10th grader and work part time in Mc Donald s to earn my living and get a
pocket money to survive because I cannot be depending on my parents for my finances.
Working in Mc Donald taught me how to survive the harsh realities and face the truth. I
often wander back and think about the warm and cosy time I spent with my family back in
Ethiopia. However, my job is a hard hitting reminder of my life s reality.
In the poem, the narrator goes through a huge wave of emotions and memories. He has
used strong words like Scarlett. The word is often used to depict the colour of fresh blood.
However, in the poem it connotes the bloody memories of the poet just like I experience in
flashes of memories running to my brain. Also, my introvert nature makes me never express
my mind just like this soldier who cannot say out things loud but just battles with his
thoughts by taking support of the good things in life, like his wife.
All in all, the poem continues to motivate and inspire me and I as a student can highly relate
to it. This poem is not just about war for me, but also life in general. It is a teacher and

Essay on The Robber Bridegroom by Eudora Welty
The Robber Bridegroom by Eudora Welty
Eudora Welty s first novel, The Robber Bridegroom, is a combination of fantasy and reality while
exploring the duality of human nature, time, and the word man lives in. The union of legend,
Mississippi history and Grimms fairy tales create an adult dream world. Every character in the
story has little insight to themselves and how they relate to the world around them. The antics of
Mike Fink, the Harps, the bandits, and the Indians closely relate to Mississippi folklore. The
blending of actual history and pure fantasy create a much richer form of entertainment. Mike Fink
was an American frontiersman who is said to have beaten Davy Crockett in a shooting contest. The
Harpe brothers were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rosamond is looking forward to the future, to be free from her stepmother and experience love
besides that between father and daughter. The story is loaded with cruel and horrible acts. Mike
Fink tries to kill Jamie and Clement for bags of gold; Clement s first wife dies after seeing their
son thrown into boiling water by Indians, Kentucky Thomas is killed leaving his ugly wife to
marry Clement, an Indian girl is raped and killed by Little Harp, and Rosamond is raped by
Jamie. All of these acts are overpowered, however, by the humor of the characters. The three
main characters represent clear opposites in their own characters. Rosamond is beautiful and
pure but could not tell the truth to save her life. Clement is a planter who is restless and loves to
travel. Jamie is a criminal as well as a bridegroom. Their outside appearance can undermine the
opinions of others. If being a bandit were his breadth and scope, I should find him and kill him
for sure, said he. But since in addition he loves my daughter, he must be not the one man, but
two, and I should be afraid of killing the second. For all things are double, and this should keep
us from taking liberties with the outside world, and acting too quickly to finish things off. All
things are divided in half night and day, the soul and body, and sorrow and joy and youth and age,
and sometimes I wonder if even my own wife has not been the one person all the time, and I loved

The Membrane Of The Cone Cells
Several researchers like (Burakova and Mazokhin Porshnyakov, 1982; Mishra and Meyer Rochow,
2008a) confirmed that the vesicles originate from inflation of the interretinular strands and are
simply extensions of the cone cells. Shaw (1978) considered the presence of vesicles around the
rhabdomere to be a typical feature of dark/lightadaption. The location of the interretinular spaces
suggests two possible functions. The first is to make physical contact with the rhabdomeres
because both of them disappear in the nuclear region. The second, physiological function by
increase sensitivity at the cost of resolution the presence of a palisade, which bodice the pigment
granules away from the rhabdom. Finally, accordingly to (Horridge and Barnard, 1965) this IRSs
have a light guiding function apparently to protect the photoreceptors from damage by the allowing
of stray light to entire the eyes.
4.3.2 Distal retinula cells
The rhabdom is long and wide at the distal start and becomes very narrow at the most proximal end.
(Horridge and Barnard, 1965; Land, 1981; Stavenga, 2003) reported that the long rhabdom allows
the receptor to collect more light and increasing the sensitivity, this feature is common in nocturnal
and crepuscular insects. Although the eye examined here exhibits light adaption, there is strong
evidence that this eye has an anatomical design optimized for vision in dim light.

Customer Orientation Of Airport Service Quality
Introduction
The aviation industry is one that is consistently changing and the demand in air travel is on the
rise. With the rise in air travel, airports need to be able to handle the traffic. But the problem is
that service quality in an airport declines when the airport has reached its design peak hour or even
exceeded it. This simply means the airport cannot handle the amount of passengers it has thus
customer satisfaction decreases.
Today s air travelers have meaningful choices among airports and there is an increasing urgency
among airport marketers to differentiate themselves by meeting the needs of customers better than
the competition. While passengers perception of airport service quality is only one of several
variables (e.g. routes, scheduling, location and prices) that contribute to overall airport
attractiveness, it is nevertheless an important variable because of the increasing importance of a
customer orientation to competitive advantage in this industry.(Fodness Murray, 2007)
Solving it would result in a more efficient airport which can reduce the amount of delays at an
airport whether is from aircraft landing or taking off or passenger traffic within the terminal thus
giving the airport an advantage over the competition by becoming a preferred airport.
Literature Review
Airports are a place where passengers encounter a bundle of tangible and intangible services in
what Bitner (1992) has characterized as an elaborate services cape . The

Punk Vivienne Westwood Subculture
Subcultures are responsible for the high rising trends in fashion, throughout this essay I will be
discussing punk fashion and the mod subculture. The mother of punk Vivienne Westwood and the
inventor of the mini skirt Mary Quant are both my reference throughout this piece. I will be sharing
my personal opinions and views throughout this essay and conclude it by discussing how the
designers are huge influences on the subcultures.
Vivienne Westwood, born on the 8 April 1941 is a British fashiondesigner that has worked in the
fashion industry for over 34 years. Westwood is regarded as one of the most influential designers
of all time. She rose to fame in the late 70 s due to her early designs that helped shape the punk
rock movement. Despite being portrayed as the mother of punk, Westwood quotes I didn t

She was truly inspired by the punk movement which led her to open four shops in London,
expanding everywhere in the United Kingdom. Both McLaren and Westwood, designed fetish
wear that was sold to prostitutes, the pair loved to shock society, producing clothes and shoes that
were related to sexual practices. After the expansion, perfecting her sewing techniques and
idealising 1950 s punk fashion. Westwood, began to sell reinterpreted versions of Teddy Boy

provided an aesthetic that brought out the punk style in which the fashion style became popular. A
lot of Westwood and Malcom McLarens designs are distinctively responsible for the build up

Essay on Son of the Morning Star
Son of the Morning Star Analysis
Evan S. Connell has a unique writing style. While most stories are told from beginning to end, Son
of the Morning Star: Custer and The Little Bighorn (North Point Press, 1984) begins with the
aftermath of The Battle of the Little Bighorn. It is then followed by numerous events which led up
to this battle. Connell chose this non linear writing style in order to distribute the details he finds
most fascinating and interesting to share with his audience. Using the conclusion of the battle as
the introduction of the narrative creates a suspenseful tone.
In the beginning of the story, the setting is the battle field which The Battle of the Little Bighorn
had taken place a few days earlier. Lieutenant James ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

He also includes a background on Chief Gall as well, providing facts about his birthplace and
family. For example, he writes, He was not a hereditary chief. The family seems to have been
undistinguished, and because his father died at an early age the boy was regarded more with
sympathy than respect. So it appears that not through any legacy did he become a chieftain... (pg.
376)
Throughout the story, the audience develops an idea of the motives of the Native Americans during
the battle. The reader becomes aware of what Sitting Bull was thinking:
If Sitting Bull did indeed call off the attack it was not because of any affection for whites, who, he
hated with abiding and impenetrable rancor, but because he understood how vindictive they could
be. If all the soldiers were slaughtered the whites would insist upon another battle... (pg. 76)
The audience was not only given an idea of what they were thinking before the battle. The author
also makes a point to include a song that the Indians wrote after they had defeated General Custer
and his men, At that time the Indians did not realized they had fought Custer...when they found out,
they sang about him. David Humphreys Miller transcribed one such kill song... (pg. 54)
With the erudition given in the story, the reader concludes that the Native American leaders were
fully developed human beings.

Use of Tone, Irony and Humor in The Hammon and the Beans...
Use of Tone, Irony and Humor in The Hammon and the Beans
Ernest Hemingway once explained, A writer s problem does not change. He himself changes and
the world he lives in changes but his problem remains the same. It is always how to write truly
and having found what is true, to project it in such a way that it becomes a part of the experience
of the person who reads it. The attitude and projection with which the author creates a story is the
tone. A difficult aspect of writing to master, tone is one that transitions a piece of writing from

The second purpose for the inclusion of contradictory statements is to enlighten the reader about the
narrator s emotions versus those of other characters. The impression the reader obtains of how
the narrator views the house and setting is predominantly positive, while the opinion his mother
has of the house is severely negative. My mother hated it, especially because of the pigeons that
cooed all day about the eaves. They had fleas, she said (p.274). The tone of opposition created by
presenting both positive and negative aspects of the ideas in the story, enables the reader to gain a
clear image of the setting, and to examine both sides of the story.
Similar to the way in which two sides are presented to form opposition in the story, two groups of
characters create irony. It is ironic that the soldiers who inhabit Jonesville on the Grande take little
or no notice of the other residents, while the townspeople consider the soldiers a major part of their
lives, and even base their schedules on that of the nearby military post. But whether we taunted or
saluted, the distant men in khaki uniforms went about their motions without noticing us at all, is an
expression of disappointment made by the narrator (p. 275). The sadness the children feel is ironic
when it is paired with the idea that the soldiers exhibit no emotions. The soldiers are both oblivious
to and uncaring about their influence on the

The Holy Bible as a Sustained Allusion Essay
The Bible as a Sustained Allusion
The Bible is a sustained allusion throughout the course of East of Eden, paralleling with the
eternal story of Cain and Abel. According to the Bible, Cain is the quot;tiller of the ground quot;
(Genesis 4:2). Caleb Trask, a farmer at heart, made a vast amount of money by selling beans. Upon
presenting Adam with his present of fifteen thousand dollars, Adam not only discarded the gift, but
caused Cal pain by comparing him to his godly brother, Aron, who graduated high school and
started college at an early age. Adam wished that Cal could have given him something to be proud
of something momentous. Adam s reaction induced Cal with excessive wrath out of rejection. In
the Bible, the Lord quot;had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Adam Trask moved out to California with his pregnant wife, Cathy, to farm the new, fertile land.
With the help of Samuel Hamilton, Adam s benign neighbor, Adam s farm immediately started
to prosper. Samuel took to liking the intent Adam right away, however, upon meeting Cathy, he
felt an ominous chill of calamity. After delivering her twin boys, Cathy desperately tried to
leave Adam, and when he restrained her, she brutally shot him in the shoulder and departed.
While sprawled on the floor, soaking in a pool of his own blood, Adam faintly heard quot;the
monotonous sound that had been there all along . . . the cry of the twins, wanting their dinner.
He had forgotten to feed them quot; (266). The next time Samuel Hamilton dropped by the Trask
s place, he was appalled to discover that Adam had not named the twins yet. Referring to the Bible
belonging to his devout wife, Samuel and Adam arrived at the names Caleb and Aron. Ten years
later, when an elderly Samuel Hamilton stopped by to say goodbye to Adam and his family, Lee,
the Trask s learned servant, told Samuel of an interesting topic that had stimulated him. Since their
conversation ten years earlier, Lee researched the Bible story of Cain speaking to the Lord, and
found it intriguing that the Hebrew word to describe the lesson was timshel, meaning thou mayest.
Therefore, instead of the Lord ordering men to triumph over

Just Lather, That s All
Many have been left thinking and questioning details of Hernando TГ©llez s Just Lather, That s
All . This story depicts the internal conflict of the barber when the most feared military captain
comes into the shop for a shave. The protagonist the barber contemplates, weather to kill Torres
his enemy and fulfil his revolutionary duties, or shave the Captain without letting one single
drop of blood fall on behalf of a good barber. At the end when the Captain is still alive he shocks
the barber revealing that he knew all along that he was secretly a rebel and what he wanted to do.
This piece of writing has many interesting aspects to analyze, but symbolization, theme and
connections were the most meaningful to me. The razor was a very symbolic object according to
many people. If you don t already know, symbolization is when we take a solid object and give it
and abstract idea. The razor symbolizes countless things throughout this piece. It was evident that
it symbolized his profession but, it also could be used as a murder weapon. The moral dilemma it
represented of the barber was the most prominent to me. All through the text the barber was faces
this internal conflict of to kill or not to kill. Weather to stand by his moralityor collective beliefs.
Weather to do what he thought was right or to do what he was told to be right. These opposites
clash and had resulted in conflict. Hero or murderer? His destiny was set on

Comparing Odyssey And Perseus Of Homer s Odyssey
If I were to summarize Clash of the Titans, it would be that Perseus, son of Zeus, watched his
entire family die as a result of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, as a result of which he
pursues the gorgon medusa in order to use her head to defeat the kraken. My summery of the
Greek version would be that, Perseus; son of Zeus was cast out on the ocean with his mother in
a trunk. After being discovered by a fisherman, Perseus grows up accepting his godly half, goes
after medusa to save his mother s marriage. In the process he saves a women who soon became
his wife using the head of the gorgon, Medusa. Though the story and movie were from very
different time periods there are still several similarities. Several similarities between the movie and
Greek version include, Perseus saved a women using the head of the then slain gorgon medusa.
Another similarity would be that he and his mother were found in the ocean floating in a trunk in
both versions. Yet another similarity between the versions would be that, Perseus refuses to live on
Olympus with his father. In both versions, the reason for the princess being sacrificed, result from
the queen insulting the beauty of the goddess Aphrodite. Another big similarity between both
versions would be that Perseus unknowingly fulfilled a prophecy.... Show more content on

The Importance Of Slavery In America
South Carolina was one of other numerous states in the United States of America that supported
slavery. Many citizens that lived in southern states during this time were in support of slavery
because the southern economy was based on it during this time. Slaves traveled to America from
West Africa through the Middle Passage. In addition, if they survived the travel through the
Middle Passage they were placed in an auction in a few days after they were cleaned and fed. The
West Africans were brought to America because of their knowledge on how to produce and
cultivate rice ( African Slaves on South Carolina Plantations ). On the southern plantations the
slaves did most of the labor on the plantations. Even though they did most of the work they were
often treated harshly by their master. Slaverylasted for over hundreds of years until Abraham
Lincolnpassed the Emancipation Proclamationduring the Civil War. Although he passed the
Emancipation Proclamation the slaves were not freed until years later after Reconstruction. In the
South Carolina many people owned plantations and slaves. The slaves had strict rules to follow and
often were treated harshly. In an attempt the make the African American lives better Abraham
Lincoln passed the Emancipation Proclamation in order to set all the slaves free and give them
equality, although for many this did not happen until years later.
All throughout slavery, slaves were abused by their masters. Once slaves were taken to the

The Consequences And Effects Of Safe Driving Saves Lives

Safe Driving Saves Lives
Safe driving seems to be very hard for us now. There so many accidents now due to the lack of
us being careful and not following the rules. We may think what we are doing isn t bad, or we
haven t been caught yet, so we must be good at it. The reality is that we need to think twice about
these things before something happens that can change our life or the life of someone else entirely.
We may think we can control the situation, but in reality, things can happen so fast that we wouldn t
even be able to react to them. The main reasons that cause fatalities and crashes are, driving under
the influence, speeding, texting while driving, and not wearing a seatbelt while driving. It doesn t
matter how long we have done it or if we haven t been caught, when it does happen it can be a very
bad outcome and can happen in a split second. I personally feel that these things have really become
a major factor and find it incumbent that something should be done to stop them from happening.
An article I read titled, Can Automation and Tougher Laws Save Lives? by Ellen Kennerly talks
about some of the causes of fatalities and crashes we tend to have so much of now. Kennerly
states, Nearly half of the 2015 fatalities involved an unbelted passenger or driver and about one
third were alcohol related. Wow, that is a big number. This quote clearly shows us that wearing our
seatbelt can save us from

Letter Writing By A Letter
Letter writing is a large part of this chapter playing various different roles. Bechdel first brings
up the use of letter writing when she sends a letter home addressing the fact that she might be a
lesbian. Although she was unsure of the truth of this statement she still sent a letter home
hoping to get a positive response back. This letter triggered a chain of letters between her and
her mother. Later in the chapter on page 77 she gets a letter from her mother. Bechdel uses a
whole panel to show the letter allowing the viewer to read most of it. This letter looks to have
used a type writer and unlike other letters in this chapter seems less personal. Another use of
letter writing in this story is when her father was in the army. Bruce and Helen exchanged
various letters back and forth during his time in the army mainly discussing the book she had
sent him. The way Bechdel incorporates these letters into the composition is an interesting way
to fill a panel. Some of the letters take up the whole panel focusing on key parts of the letter.
Some letters are part of the panel as a speech balloon. There are also full letters that occupy a
large space in a panel. On page 62 and 63 these examples are present. A square panel on 62 shows
only Bruce s handwriting. The handwriting represents a sentimental quality. Bechdel might have
used his actual letter for this panel. He writes about the book called The Far Side of Paradise sent
to him by Helen. The use of fragments of written

Rita Hayworth And Shawshank Redemption Analysis
In the novella, Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption , the reader follows the life of
Andy Dufresne, who is wrongly convicted of murdering his wife for sleeping with a golf pro.
Author Stephen King describes Andy s experiences, and his attempt to escape from Shawshank
Prison. Red, Andy s most valuable friend while in prison, is also in prison for killing his wife,
but in contrast to Andy, he actually did it. Andy is consistently denied freedom through parole or
when evidence arises proving his innocence, because of his role running the illegal money
laundering scheme for Warden Norton. Throughout the novella, both characters display
moments of similar, but also at times vastly different, levels of hope. King uses characters with
various amounts of hope to prove that it is important to maintain hope through difficult
situations in order to improve one s life, and that without hope one won t progress in life. Andy s
hope throughout the novella illustrates that hope is a positive quality to have in order to get
through difficult situation in life. For example, Andy is persistent writing letters to the state,
asking for more money for building a better library. This suggests that Andy is hopeful for
additional funds for his library, which not only improve his relationship with the other prisoners,
but also insures he is on good terms with the guards and is left alone while planning to escape.
King uses this to reveal how hope can be constructive towards forming a better life, even when
stuck in a terrible place such as prison. Additionally, when a new prisoner comes to Shawshank
with evidence that Andy is innocent, Andy does not give up hope. When Warden Norton tells
Andy that any attempt to prove his innocence won t work, Andy exclaims, Well, it s a chance, isn

Lean Management Is A Method Of Running A Business
According to (Rouse, 2013), lean management is a method of running a business that supports the
concept of constant improvement. Therefore, lean management is a long term approach to work
that thoroughly seeks to achieve small, incremental changes in processes in order to improve
efficiency and quality. The theory was first established between 1948 and 1975 by Taiichi Ohnoand
Shigeo Shingo the two Japanese engineers (Arnheiter and Maleyeff, 2005). But the method was
initially found in the works of Henry Ford, who Ohno greatly appreciated and studied Ford
because of his accomplishments and the reduction of waste at early Ford assembly plants
(Arnheiter and Maleyeff, 2005). Thus Lean management eliminates all forms of waste, decreasing
errors, shrinking inventory and ordering or supplying parts just in time, therefore decreasing
warehousing costs. (Rand, 2013) identified the seven forms of waste, including waste in
unnecessary motion, over processing and transportation. Thus by doing this it will saves the
business money and allows workers to pay attention to more value creating activities. There are four
main principles of lean which are (Rouse, 2013) firstly defining the value from the perspective of
the end customer, identifying each steps in a business process and eliminating non value activities,
making the value creating steps occur in tight sequence and then finally repeating the first three
steps on a constantly basis until all the waste has been eliminated. The

Australopithecus Research Paper
Discovery
Australopithecus afarensis was discovered in Ethiopia on November 24, 1974 by
paleoanthropologists Donald Johanson, Maurice Taieb, Yves Coppens, and Tom Gray in the
Afar Depression in Ethiopia, Africa. The first fossil was found by Johanson in 71 when he
discovered a shinbone and femur. They returned in 1974 and the team found several hundred
fragments of bones all belonging to a single individual. The individual was deemed to be a
female based on the width of the pelvic opening. The fossil samples were argon argon dated by
Robert Walter in 1992 and it was determined that she was approximately 3.22 3.18 million years
old. The species itself lived between 3.85 and 2.95 million years ago. This specimen was named
Lucy after the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Characteristics
Male Australopithecines are on average 4 11 and weigh about 94 pounds while females average
3 5 and weigh close to 64 pounds. The most notable characteristic of Lucy was found in her knee,
which indicated that the species walked upright or was bipedal. Lucy s limb proportions also
provide insight to her bipedality. Human s hind limbs (legs) are longer than their fore limbs
(arms). The ratio between arms and legs is called an intermembral index. The average
intermembral index for humans is between 68 70 , while chimpanzees fall around 106 . Lucy s
intermembral index is 88 , which falls between both. This suggests that A. afarensis probably
walked on the ground with hind limbs and climbed in trees with fore limbs. Lucy s pelvic blades
are human like in that they are short and curved forward, making the case for bipedality while on
the ground. The location of Lucy s shoulder, however, provides insight that she spent time climbing
in trees. Furthermore, Lucy s sacrum is wide and short at the top and goes in laterally like in
humans. A wider and shorter sacrum is better for distributing weight through the pelvis. This
follows with bipedal theories because this shaped sacrum is better

The Damned Human Race Huck Finn Analysis
Since the Moral Sense has but the one office, the one capacity to enable man to do wrong it is
plainly without value to him. It is as valueless to him as is disease... kill his neighbor with a
poisonous bite. In the essay written by Mark Twain, The Damned Human Race , Twain emphasizes
the moral sense on how the damned human race exemplifies the cruelty and the immorality of our
society. Throughout the novel The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Mark Twain utilizes satirein
order to illustrate how he criticizes and ridicules society. Through satire, he decries society s
morality, inhumanity, and hypocrisy in order to further illustrate how he criticizes society and to
emphasize how it affects a person by influencing one s decisions and one s personality. He also
emphasizes morality, inhumanity, and hypocrisy in order to replace violence, cruelty, and
ignorance to the moral sense of humanity. In the novel, Twain utilizes morality through
Huckleberry Finn s decisions in order to illustrate Huckleberry s conscience and his moral crisis.
An example of Huckleberry s morality is in page eight: They talked it over, and they was going
to rule me out, because they said every boy must have a family or somebody to kill, or else it
wouldn t be fair and square for the others... but all at once I thought of a way, and so I offered
them Miss Watson they could kill her. In Huckleberry s desperate situation, he uses Miss Watson as
an element of death by offering her as a sacrifice to

Molarity Of Hcl
This experiment is designed to demonstrate how to use volumetric tools and how to calculate the
molarity of an unknown based on the usage of these tools. Volumetric tools include burets, pipets,
and volumetric flasks and can be used to react an unknown substance with a substance of known
concentration to find the molarity of an unknown. This specific experiment sought to find the
concentrationof an HCl solution by reacting it with a standard NaOH solution. An indicator was
added to show when this reaction had occurred (Beran 2012). The hypothesis predicted that the
molarity of the unknown substance would have a concentration of HCl that lied between .07M and
.09M. This was based on the prelab activity with practice calculations that had numbers... Show

This is most likely because the hypothesis was based on the pre lab activity, which had calculations
very similar to the predicted molarity range, though was not actually based on the experiment
performed. Additionally, the standard deviation indicates that the data is quite precise, with a
deviation of only .002. This deviation could be due to slightly inaccurate measurements, potentially
caused by instruments that were not cleaned properly or NaOH not falling into the Erlenmeyer flask
when it was being swished during titration. For example, the buret may not have been rinsed to the
fullest extent, causing minor contamination. However, small errors are inevitable in experiments
and can only be minimized.
Conclusion
This experiment appropriately exemplified how to use volumetric instruments when finding
molarity of an unknown concentration. It also showed how to calculate the molarity of one
substance based on titration recordings. Although the data had small divergence, the data recorded
was still fairly precise due to an experiment with minimal user

A Brief Note On The Computerized Patient Record System Essay
Introduction Assessment
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) operates one of the largest nationwide healthcare
systems. (Tsai, 2012). In 1998 the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) was released at a
national level. (Lovis, 2011). CPRS has been made possible because of the extensive set of clinical
and administrative application within VistA.
VistA is the Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture. It is VA s Health
Information Technology (IT) system. It provides an integrated inpatient and outpatient electronic
health record for VA patients, and administrative tools to help VA deliver quality medical care to
Veterans. (Lovis, 2011). CPRS organizes and presents all relevant data on a patient to support
clinical decision making. It allows clinicians to interact with the patient s data, add problems,
notes and enter orders. It supports alerts, notification and guidelines. (Lovis, 2011). The adaption
of VistA to CPRS, the new addition to this was My HealtheVet portal. My HealtheVet is a secure
website. The VA follows strict security policies and practices to make sure that your personal
health information is safe and protected. The My HealtheVet Program is based on the core belief
that knowledgeable patients are better able to make informed healthcare choices, stay healthy, and
seek services when needed. The primary goal of the Program is to support veterans as empowered

Lawn Prep Research Paper
Homeowners typically think of lawn care in the spring and summer. After all, this is the period
where a healthy lawn, green and full at its peak, is most visible. Establishing health and vitality
is a year around proposition, and a good fall sets up the lawn for a good spring. The main goal in
fall lawn prep is helping grass establish good stores of energy in the root system to boost the
general health of the lawn and to prepare for strong spring growth. Plants adjust their function by
season. As days shorten, energy storage becomes more dominant than leaf growth. The slowing of
growth may look like dormancy so the homeowner may stop watering. The grass is still active, but
reduced watering may push it prematurely into dormancy. Reduce water,

Becoming Transgender In The United States
n these past few years we have seen a great deal of change in the United States. From the
legalization of gay marriage, and or the legalization of marijuana. These are things that people in the
past would think are things that should not be legalized but times change. Lately, many people not
in conform with their biological genderhave been becoming the opposite sex, a transgender. Some of
the most recent well known cases of becoming transgender have to be Bruce Jenner and Rodrigo
Heng song of republican senator, Ileana Ros Lehtinen. All this talk brings up the question of
whether sex is a psychological thing, or an anatomical thing. I believe that sex is an anatomical
thing and I also believe that becoming transgender can bring negative effects... Show more content

I can say this from experience because I have seen transgender people at stores, and all they do is
stare at me. It gets to the point where I just want to leave because they make me so
uncomfortable. I recall going to ,my locker about a month ago with my friend during fifth
period. As we were going back to our classroom, a girl walks by and naturally a teenage boy will
look at her body. I told my friend, she is kind of hot , to which he replied, you do know she is
transgender? I was pretty much socked and was really condues. Now I have no problem with
her but what she did was uncomfortable. As she passed between us, she was lifting her shirt and
touching her but. I was uncomfortable because I tend to see women as people who are
respectful and don t do that kind of stuff. The girl did = not show any private parts but she did
make me uncomfortable. This brings me to the article, when a lawsuit in Minnesota was placed.
The transgender which is labeled, Student X , was lifting her clothes and asking to trade body
parts. Obviously this would make her peers uncomfortable. What makes it all the ,most weird, is
that people consider what this girl did as something all girls do. While some girls may dance
inappropriately, I am almost positive girls don t talk about trading body

The Keystone Xl Pipeline Is A Proposed 1179 Mile Pipeline...
2. The Keystone XL pipeline is a proposed 1,179 mile pipeline that would travel from the oil
sands of Alberta, Canada, southeast to Steele City, Nebraska, where it would connect with a
preexisting pipe. The pipeline would transport 830,000 barrels of oil daily, which is around 50%
more oil per day than is currently transported from Canada. Supporters say that it will create
thousands of jobs and reduce the United Statesdependence on foreign oil. Environmentalists who
oppose the Keystone XL state that increasing our supply of oil will only make it even more
difficult to the slow the current trend of climate change, as well as the fact that the proposed
pipeline runs through many ecologically sensitive areas, such as the Sandhills of Nebraska.
3.Article 1: This article tells about President Obama vetoing Keystone Jobs Bill on grounds that
approval of the construction of the controversial Keystone XL pipeline would damage the U.S.
effort to curb greenhouse gases. The article frames Obama as an environmental hero, quoting the
president in saying, America is now a global leader when it comes to taking serious action to fight
climate change... And frankly, approving this project would have undercut that global leadership.
And that s the biggest risk we face not acting. The authors also cite Secretary of State John Kerry
in saying The United States cannot ask other nations to make tough choices to address climate
change if we are unwilling to make them ourselves. The

Book 2 Of The Aeneid
At the beginning of Book 2 of The Aeneid, Aeneas tells his story about the fall of Troy. The
Greeks constructed a massive wooden horse to which the Trojans believed was an offering
goddess Minerva. They then sent one of their youths, Sinon, to give the offering to the Trojans.
The Trojans brought the wooden horse into to please the goddess but, the wooden horse was
actually a structure to house some Greek soldiers to infiltrate Troy as well as execute a sneak
attack when the city was asleep. Similar to guerrilla soldiers, the Greeks exit the wooden horse to
begin their attack on the Trojan city. When Aeneas sees the city in flames, he gathers his men to
attempt to save Troy. Aeneas attempts to kill as many Greeks as he can, but forced to retreat.

An Example Of Perseverance In Warriors Don T Cry
How many times in life have you struggled but got through a difficult time? That is called
perseverance. The definition of perseverance is Steadfastness in doing something despite
difficulty or delay in achieving success. Synonyms are persistence and determination. It
originated from the latin word perseverare. Right now the world has been filled with natural
disasters, from hurricanes to wildfires. Everyone that this affected has been forced to persevere
through it because there is not much that they have the ability to do besides staying strong. In all
of the nonfiction literature we have read there were many different examples of perseverance
from many different people. I decided to choose three. For my first example Melba Pattillo
Beals from Warriors Don t Cry . There is numerous examples of the Little Rock 9 and her doing
something despite difficulty. For the second example of perseverance I chose Maya Angelou.
Through her life there were countless times that she was faced adversity and still achieved
success. My third example is Earl Simmons (DMX) from the book E.A.R.L . He went through a
tough time at almost all time growing up and he never gave up and achieved success.
Perseverance creates success; therefore, when you stick through something you can accomplish
what you want. In the book Warriors Don t Cry Melba Pattillo Beals and the rest of the Little Rock
9 were faced with racism as they were trying to go to a all white school. They all had courage

Definition Essay On Friendship
The word friendship is defined as having a relationship between you and a friend. The definition is
easier to interpret if you divide the word in half. A friend is someone you care about and someone
you trust with anything. The ship portion of the word refers specifically to the relationship you
have with someone. After reconstructing the word, you have friendship, which is mainly built from
trust, common interests and support.
Trust is the foundation of any friendship. Without trust, relationships shatter due to the uncertainty
of the other person s actions. For example, you can trust a true friend to be alone in your house
and expect him/her to resist the urge to steal valuables. On the other hand, if you leave a person
you assume you trust in your house with valuables, a less favorable outcome would occur. This is
the reason why trust is vital to every friendship.
Common interests are the cause of nearly all friendships. Whether it be that you both appreciate a
similar sports team or the same genre of movie, these are hobbies you both have in common.
Without common interests, the friendship will not be able to form correctly. Additionally, the
friendship will not last as long without similar interests. This is due to the lack ... Show more

Should We Love Spartacus
Some people would argue that this new World referred to above looks suspiciously a lot like the
old one, if you look closely enough. As California s post makes clear it is impossible to discuss
Spartacus without bringing politics into it. Those who criticize it seem to be objecting not just
to the choreography but to its subject matter and its putative political outlook. Any implications
about the views or tastes of someone just because they happen to enjoy a work of art (even if
accurate and therefore depressing) are highly problematic though. It would be interesting to
know, but should it really matter to us whether Putin loves Spartacus? Do all people who like a
work of art , a person, a nation, or anything else like it (or him/her) for the same reasons? Would
Spartacus love Putin or Hitler or Spartacus? Should we loathe Wagner s music because the Nazis
loved it? Should we burn all the copies of Leni Riefenstahl s movies because they glorify a
hideous, dangerous political movement and philosophy? And while we are at it all copies of The

and HDPE. HDPE plastic is manufactured from petroleum and is considerably to be a lot
stronger than LDPE plastic. HDPE plastic can also be welded and these plastics are often found
in larger plastic items, because of its great strength and durability. One of the first items that
HDPE was used to make was the hula hoop. HDPE plastic can be found in tables and chairs,

Lenin ordered that any German conditions should be accepted but he had great difficulty in
convincing his colleagues such as Trotsky that this was the way forward. He realized that the
Bolsheviks needed to get a quick treaty from the Germans to bring about the end of the war so that
the Bolsheviks could concentrate on the work they needed to do in Russia. Eventually peace was
signed in March 1918 in the form of the Treaty of Brest Litovsk. Under the treaty, Russia lost
Riga, Lithuania, Livonia, Estonia and some of White Russia. Russia ended up losing 62 million
people, 27% of farm land, 26% of railway lines and 74% of iron and coal reserves. Some
historians argue that the signing of the Treaty of Brest Litovsk was one of Lenin s major failures
in his policies. Lenin s practical and realistic approach enabled him to strengthen the Bolshevik

After the winning the Civil War against the Whites, the Russia economy was left in ruins. The
Bolshevik Party faced many problems; the Kronstadt rising, political opposition and economic crisis
this meant that Lenin had to remove War Communismto avoid disaster. Lenin thought that the

Questions On Foreign Agents And International Property Owners
6.How to Find Foreign Realtors
How can you find some proper foreign realtors and contact them directly if as a property owner
you want to bypass your local realtors (or cannot find any with the foreign connections) and pay
only the foreign part of the real estate commission? Or are you just this local realtor or a
developer and willing to find a partner in sales in a foreign country to send you buyers? For that
you have to go to the foreign internet with the help of a bilingual person at your side and search
there for advertisers of properties for sale from your country or area or city to further ask them to
become your business partners. The foreign real estate agents who advertise international properties
in the foreign internet or print media (with online editions that you can see in the internet) are
especially interesting to international property owners, real estate agents and developers of many
countries of the world in the following two aspects:

The Importance Of Community In Our Town By Thornton Wilder
Somewhere there is a town where everyone s best friend is their next door neighbor. Everyone
here would always stop and talk about what is going on, no matter who you are. Such community
does exist, but only in the small town of Grover s Corners, New Hampshire. The value and
importance of community is shown in Our Town by Thornton Wilderusing repetition and pattern of
events. A few important times this is shown is the play is when Emily and George s disagreements
with each other help grow their relationship. When Howie Newsome greets neighbors while he
delivers the milk across town is a significant part of Grover s Corners community. Emily s death is
also meaningful to the community s connections to each other.
The value of community is shown when Emily would repeatedly argue with George but their
disagreements made their relationship better. One small disagreement between George and Emily
happened on their way home from school one day:
GEORGE. I don t mean the answers, Emily, of course not ... just some little hints ...
EMILY. Oh, I think hints are allowed. So ah if you get stuck, George, you whistle to me; and I ll
give you some hints. (29)
In this passage, Emily s hesitation shows she unsure if she is willing to help George with his work.
Emily does not affirm her disagreement with George mostly because she does not want him to
continue pleading for answers. Emily and George s arguments came up a few times throughout the
story:
GEORGE. Oh.. I don t think it s possible

Black Site Torture Is An Ongoing Injustice
Black Site Torture Imagine suddenly waking up to find yourself in a small cell, handcuffed and
chained to the wall by your ankle. The only thing in your room is a hard mattress and a bucket. A
continuous white noise is blared over the speakers. Night and day no longer exists, only the
florescent bulb that never goes out. The only people you ever see are the masked guards that drag
you off for interrogation. Imagine that goes on for nineteen months. Difficult to picture, right? That
s how it was for Mohamed Bashmilah. Black site torture is an ongoing injustice in which innocent
people are subjected to unimaginable torture. Many people have been illegally abducted by the

A chunk of which, of course, included Black Site abductions and torture. As if this wasn t enough
to prove the use of illegal interrogation methods, former president Bush admitted the existence of
the fabled black site locations. Attempting to reconcile his mistake, he attempted to assure the
public that no illegal methods of questioning are used. If it was all perfectly legal, why lie in the
first place? The only reason to lie would be admitting to these accusations would result in violating
the Geneva Conventions. The Geneva Conventions are an agreement, signed in 1864, that strictly
prohibits the use of inhuman tactics to extract information. Violating such an act would, without a
doubt, invoke the wrath of the United Nations. Still, with the governments continued denial,
people have come forward giving their first hand account of their illegal abduction. One of the
brave survivors was Mr. Mohamed Farag Bashmilah. In 2003 Mr. Bashmilah flew from Indonesia
to Jordan to visit his sick mother. Upon arrival in Amman Jordan, Mohamed s passport was seized.
The officials questioned his passport, not believing that he had gotten it replaced. He was told to
visit the Jordanian GID, or General Intelligence Department. Upon revealing he had visited
Afghanistan three years ago, the Jordanian intelligence department placed him under arrest. For the

All Summer in a Day by Ray Bradbury, Through the Tunnel by Doris Lessing, and The Veldt by
Ray Bradbury are fine examples of the impact of parental figures in upbringings.
The three stories setting s are similar because they set up for the plot. For instance, in All Summer

Robert Peel Research Paper
On February 5, 1788 in Lancashire, England, Robert Peel was born to his parents, Ellen Yates
and Robert Peel, where he would become the eldest boy of eleven children. His family made
their fortune in textile manufacture after they had dealt their hand in the weaving industry.
Robert Peel was homeschooled by Rev. James Hargreaves until he was ten years old and moved
to a Tamworth school in Drayton Manor. Throughout his studies at Harrow, Peel was awarded
with several honors such as a double First in Classics as well as the same in Mathematics and
Physics. In 1809, the young man began the long road towards his law career at Lincoln s Inn.
However, his father obtained Peel the title of Cashel in Co. Tipperary and he commenced the
beginning of his life long parliamentary career. At the opening of parliament in late January 1810,
Robert Peel gave a forty minute speech and was applauded when he seconded the reply to the King
s speech. He was a Tory by nature, therefore he supported Portland s government.... Show more

As a result, he dove into the state of criminal law and began investigating immediately. One of
the very intelligent techniques Peel used while he was in office was to research and learn about
the subject he was currently working on so he would have more knowledge on the subject and
make his case clearer to the House of Commons. Robert passed eight pieces of legislation from
1822 and 1827. Therefore, he changed criminal law forever. Also, Mr. Peel repealed more than
200 statutes that were said to be outdated. In early 1822, he suggested the idea that a House of
Commons Select Committee be assembled in order to oversee the London police. Unfortunately,
the proposal was rejected because a system could not be created in a free society. Robert Peel was
not pleased with this action and continued successfully to make it happen. The Metropolitan Police
Force was created in

Electoral College Voting System
It s interesting to notice that in those four disputed elections of 1800, 1824, 1876 and 1960, the
winner of the popular vote didn t become President because they weren t the winners of the
Electoral College votes. The first two instances were mainly due to an unorganized system because
of the early establishment. However, there is a recurring pattern in the later elections.
In 1800, the problem was that the electors had two votes, one for President and one for the Vice
President, which, based on the outcome, resulted in the adoption of the 12th Amendment which
ensured that a tied vote for President wouldn t happen again. In the 1824 election resulted in the
creation of two political parties which were the Democratic and the Whig parties.

Explain The Stages Of Language Development
There are three main stages of language development and neuro typical children will follow the
same general sequence of language development, although of course there is variation in the age in
which this happens for each individual child. The first stage is the pre linguistic/prattle stage and
this stage lasts for much of the child’s first year. Even within this stage, there are several
milestones. Amazingly, at 2 months old, human infants can produce all of the linguistic sounds that
the human voice is capable of. These same ranges of sounds are made by children all over the
world, no matter which country they are born in, however certain languages simply do not use
some of the sounds and so the children eventually stop using them. The

Essay about Farming The Tambopata Reserve
Tambopata Peru is one of the poorest and most underdeveloped regions of Latin America. The area
is home to undernourished children, lack of secure work and education.
There is an imperative need not just for Tambopata, but all of Peru to increase its economy and
enable the access of basic needs to its citizens. While the area of Tambopata has many arguments for
its potential use, sustainable soybean cultivation is the best approach to improve Peruvian
infrastructure, economy and future preservation of natural areas.
There are many potential land uses for the Tambopata Reserve. One of which, that gains much
environmentalist backing, is slash and burn agriculture. While this method of agriculture has long
traditionally been employed and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the same study, 3.3 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions will be lessened by 2020 through
sustainable soybean production. These methods allow for a reduction in overall costs due to
decreased overhead in both machinery and herbicide applications (Green, 2010).
Perhaps the greatest benefit of using conservation tillage soybean production over other potential
land uses is the consecutive insurance of high yields in small areas. Due to these high yields per
hectare, more land can be saved for the Tambopata Reserve and its inhabitants. Additionally, if
soybeans that were raised within the reserve were taxed, money can come back into the park to aid
in its prosperity and protection of the local soybean market. Many guidelines have been
implemented in neighboring Brazil and Paraguay to ensure both economic growth and rainforest
protection that could be implemented in Tambopata.
If soybean production were undertaken in Tambopata, the crops would be raised under World
Wildlife Federation and the Nature Conservancy s guidelines of Forest Friendly Soy (Schnoecker,
2007). This means that at least eighty percent of farmers land must be preserved as forest to make
up for the twenty percent farmed. The World Wildlife Federation recently awarded Paraguay with
the Leaders for a Living Planet award in recognition of their Zero Deforestation Law, which
prohibits the conversion of forested to agricultural

Essay On Alexander II And The Failure Of The Serfs
Intentions of Alexander II and the Failure of the Emancipation of the Serfs
In the 19th century it was estimated that about 50 per cent of the 40,000,000 peasants in Russia
were serfs, who worked on the land and were owned by the Russian nobility, the Tsar and
religious foundations. This had been true for centuries; in 1861, however, this was all changed
when Tsar Alexander II emancipated the serfs and gave them freedom from ownership.
Alexander s decision was based on many reasons, and did not have the desired consequences, for
the serfs at least. Therefore, it is possible to question Alexander s motives for such large reform,
which this essay will do and will also look at why the emancipation, ... Show more content on

A large part of the problem was serfdom Russia needed millions of industrial workers, to free up
land and to force the nobility to relinquish power to a certain extent. The Tsar was also aware that
much of western Europe looked on serfdom as being akin to slavery, and looked down on Russia as
a result. As one historian has remarked:
The strip system, involving the use of antiquated farming implements and techniques, had long ago
been abandoned on the agriculturally advanced nations. Its continued use in Russia was a major
reason why the nation could not meet it s food needs. [1]
Alexander was also acutely aware of the threat of a serf uprising. Despite the general
contentedness of the majority of serfs, there were a significant number who were not happy, and
many groups of political activists, such as the Narodniks, had begun stirring up discontentment. In
a population of 67 million, Russia had 23 million serfs belonging to 103,000 landlords. Serfs
therefore outnumbered their landlords by over 200 to one, and so Alexander was right to be
concerned about what might happen should a large uprising occur. His worries were plainly stated
when he addressed the State Council in January 1861:
It is

  • 2. Moses And Exodus I am going to be talking about Moses and the law it was written in the book of exodus. Moses was born a Hebrew in Egypt. Hebrews we re an Israelite slave in Egypt at the time when Moses was born Hebrews started to expand so large that the Egyptians started getting terrified and saying what if the Hebrews outgrow us? If they outgrow us that means the Hebrew will out number the Egyptians so therefore if the Hebrews wanted to take over they will be able to because they outnumber the Egyptians. Pharaoh came up with this idea If he killed all Hebrew baby boys at birth he wouldn t have to worry about that problem so Pharaoh ordered that all Hebrew baby boys are to be put to death at birth. Moses mother had been hiding him for three months she was afraid of keeping him any longer The reason they hid him for just three months was, because during that period he was able to remain a bit more silent and discreet, and wasn t very conspicuous to people outside of his home; but as he grew older, this quickly changed and something had to be done. Not knowing what else to do because the child was so loud and hard to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 3. High Fat Diet Bad For Mental Health Introduction For this assignment I am going to analyze the popular press article High fat diet bad for mental health, may lead to depression featured in Tech Times Magazine. During which I will examine their claim against the actual, scientific data in the Biological Psychiatry Journal. This analysis will provide insight on how popular press articles may misinterpret a study and spread false information to the public. Summary: Tech Times Magazine In the article the author, James Maynard, tried to interpret a study published by Biological Psychiatry Journal on Obese type Gut Microbiota Induce Neurobehavioral Changes in the Absence of Obesity. Maynard found that mice from the study were fed different types of foods: one high in fat and the other in normal chow diet. The rats that were fed the fat enriched diet showed some symptoms of anxiety and forgetfulness, while the other rats were seemingly okay. In these findings, Maynard makes and Association claim that High fat diets can cause Depression and other psychological risks. The article does not advocate for a change in diet, but does not give any reference to other possible causes to the lab results. Summary: Biological Psychiatry Journal The study intended to look at the gut microbiome that is naturally present within the gut. The research team of the Louisiana State University designed an experiment with lab rats to predict how the manipulation of the gut microbiome with a high fat diet would affect their brain ... Mcelwain Argumentative Analysis Stricklin said the sides reached an agreement in principle to settle McElwain s $12.5 million buyout, but he declined to reveal details until the deal is signed. This is more than just wins and losses, Stricklin said. I ll just leave it at that. Florida (3 4, 3 3 Southeastern Conference), which is still paying former coach Will Muschamp, hoped to significantly reduce McElwain s sum and likely used his actions over the last week as leverage. Regardless, McElwain s tenure will be remembered for failing to fix a floundering offense. Three years ago, McElwain proclaimed he could win with his dog at quarterback. The Gators currently rank 113th in total offense, in triple digits nationally for the third time in McElwain s three seasons. When ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Classroom Management And The Classroom Classroom Management Explain the goal of the plan, including the grade level it addresses. Classroom management is important in Pre K classrooms. The teacher should maintain control in her classroom at all times. One of the most effective interventions in the classroom is the student s goal. When the goal between the student and the teacher has met a new goal is created. Teacher should set up behavior management instead of punishment in the classroom. Many teachers leave their profession due to lack of knowing how to use the proper management skills. My goal is to introduce a set of rules and follow the routine of the classroom daily. Poor discipline at the beginning of the school year will provide students the opportunity to spin out of control. When I have to stop activities to redirect a student from disruption, it cheats other students from their time of learning. I am consistent with following the rule when they are broken then and not later. The student outs of control are dealt with in a less conspicable way. I do not make a scene in front of the other student. I quietly remove the student from the group and direct him to a quiet time setting and go over the rule and explain why he was removed. The assistant in the classroom continues with the activities so other students would feel comfortable and safe. 3 5 years old student is learning, reasoning and problem solving skills at a rapid pace. • 6. Song Of Napalm Essay Song of Napalm and my life experiences It often happens that literature leaves us pondering over things that happen in our life. It won t be wrong to say that some works leave us intrigued and even intimidated. It varies from person to person, the effect that literary works have on the mind. When I talk about myself, few literary works, especially a few poems, have always left me thinking about the ways of life. Here, I would like to mention that Bruce Weigl s , song of Napalm , has always been one of my much admired poem and the one poem that I have been able to relate to The poem is meant to convey the wicked realities seen by soldiers during the Vietnam War and how those events have an effect on them for the rest of their ... Today, I am a 10th grader and work part time in Mc Donald s to earn my living and get a pocket money to survive because I cannot be depending on my parents for my finances. Working in Mc Donald taught me how to survive the harsh realities and face the truth. I often wander back and think about the warm and cosy time I spent with my family back in Ethiopia. However, my job is a hard hitting reminder of my life s reality. In the poem, the narrator goes through a huge wave of emotions and memories. He has used strong words like Scarlett. The word is often used to depict the colour of fresh blood. However, in the poem it connotes the bloody memories of the poet just like I experience in flashes of memories running to my brain. Also, my introvert nature makes me never express my mind just like this soldier who cannot say out things loud but just battles with his thoughts by taking support of the good things in life, like his wife. All in all, the poem continues to motivate and inspire me and I as a student can highly relate

  • 8. Essay on The Robber Bridegroom by Eudora Welty The Robber Bridegroom by Eudora Welty Eudora Welty s first novel, The Robber Bridegroom, is a combination of fantasy and reality while exploring the duality of human nature, time, and the word man lives in. The union of legend, Mississippi history and Grimms fairy tales create an adult dream world. Every character in the story has little insight to themselves and how they relate to the world around them. The antics of Mike Fink, the Harps, the bandits, and the Indians closely relate to Mississippi folklore. The blending of actual history and pure fantasy create a much richer form of entertainment. Mike Fink was an American frontiersman who is said to have beaten Davy Crockett in a shooting contest. The Harpe brothers were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Rosamond is looking forward to the future, to be free from her stepmother and experience love besides that between father and daughter. The story is loaded with cruel and horrible acts. Mike Fink tries to kill Jamie and Clement for bags of gold; Clement s first wife dies after seeing their son thrown into boiling water by Indians, Kentucky Thomas is killed leaving his ugly wife to marry Clement, an Indian girl is raped and killed by Little Harp, and Rosamond is raped by Jamie. All of these acts are overpowered, however, by the humor of the characters. The three main characters represent clear opposites in their own characters. Rosamond is beautiful and pure but could not tell the truth to save her life. Clement is a planter who is restless and loves to travel. Jamie is a criminal as well as a bridegroom. Their outside appearance can undermine the opinions of others. If being a bandit were his breadth and scope, I should find him and kill him for sure, said he. But since in addition he loves my daughter, he must be not the one man, but two, and I should be afraid of killing the second. For all things are double, and this should keep us from taking liberties with the outside world, and acting too quickly to finish things off. All things are divided in half night and day, the soul and body, and sorrow and joy and youth and age, and sometimes I wonder if even my own wife has not been the one person all the time, and I loved her ... • 9. The Membrane Of The Cone Cells Several researchers like (Burakova and Mazokhin Porshnyakov, 1982; Mishra and Meyer Rochow, 2008a) confirmed that the vesicles originate from inflation of the interretinular strands and are simply extensions of the cone cells. Shaw (1978) considered the presence of vesicles around the rhabdomere to be a typical feature of dark/lightadaption. The location of the interretinular spaces suggests two possible functions. The first is to make physical contact with the rhabdomeres because both of them disappear in the nuclear region. The second, physiological function by increase sensitivity at the cost of resolution the presence of a palisade, which bodice the pigment granules away from the rhabdom. Finally, accordingly to (Horridge and Barnard, 1965) this IRSs have a light guiding function apparently to protect the photoreceptors from damage by the allowing of stray light to entire the eyes. 4.3.2 Distal retinula cells The rhabdom is long and wide at the distal start and becomes very narrow at the most proximal end. (Horridge and Barnard, 1965; Land, 1981; Stavenga, 2003) reported that the long rhabdom allows the receptor to collect more light and increasing the sensitivity, this feature is common in nocturnal and crepuscular insects. Although the eye examined here exhibits light adaption, there is strong evidence that this eye has an anatomical design optimized for vision in dim light. • 10. Customer Orientation Of Airport Service Quality Introduction The aviation industry is one that is consistently changing and the demand in air travel is on the rise. With the rise in air travel, airports need to be able to handle the traffic. But the problem is that service quality in an airport declines when the airport has reached its design peak hour or even exceeded it. This simply means the airport cannot handle the amount of passengers it has thus customer satisfaction decreases. Today s air travelers have meaningful choices among airports and there is an increasing urgency among airport marketers to differentiate themselves by meeting the needs of customers better than the competition. While passengers perception of airport service quality is only one of several variables (e.g. routes, scheduling, location and prices) that contribute to overall airport attractiveness, it is nevertheless an important variable because of the increasing importance of a customer orientation to competitive advantage in this industry.(Fodness Murray, 2007) Solving it would result in a more efficient airport which can reduce the amount of delays at an airport whether is from aircraft landing or taking off or passenger traffic within the terminal thus giving the airport an advantage over the competition by becoming a preferred airport. Literature Review Airports are a place where passengers encounter a bundle of tangible and intangible services in what Bitner (1992) has characterized as an elaborate services cape . The ... The mother of punk Vivienne Westwood and the inventor of the mini skirt Mary Quant are both my reference throughout this piece. I will be sharing my personal opinions and views throughout this essay and conclude it by discussing how the designers are huge influences on the subcultures. Vivienne Westwood, born on the 8 April 1941 is a British fashiondesigner that has worked in the fashion industry for over 34 years. Westwood is regarded as one of the most influential designers of all time. She rose to fame in the late 70 s due to her early designs that helped shape the punk rock movement. Punk creator Vivienne Westwood, provided an aesthetic that brought out the punk style in which the fashion style became popular. • 12. Essay on Son of the Morning Star Son of the Morning Star Analysis Evan S. Connell has a unique writing style. While most stories are told from beginning to end, Son of the Morning Star: Custer and The Little Bighorn (North Point Press, 1984) begins with the aftermath of The Battle of the Little Bighorn. It is then followed by numerous events which led up to this battle. Connell chose this non linear writing style in order to distribute the details he finds most fascinating and interesting to share with his audience. Using the conclusion of the battle as the introduction of the narrative creates a suspenseful tone. In the beginning of the story, the setting is the battle field which The Battle of the Little Bighorn had taken place a few days earlier. Lieutenant James ... So it appears that not through any legacy did he become a chieftain... (pg. 376) Throughout the story, the audience develops an idea of the motives of the Native Americans during the battle. The reader becomes aware of what Sitting Bull was thinking: If Sitting Bull did indeed call off the attack it was not because of any affection for whites, who, he hated with abiding and impenetrable rancor, but because he understood how vindictive they could be. If all the soldiers were slaughtered the whites would insist upon another battle... (pg. 76) The audience was not only given an idea of what they were thinking before the battle. The author also makes a point to include a song that the Indians wrote after they had defeated General Custer and his men, At that time the Indians did not realized they had fought Custer...when they found out, they sang about him. David Humphreys Miller transcribed one such kill song... (pg. 54) With the erudition given in the story, the reader concludes that the Native American leaders were fully developed human beings. ... He himself changes and the world he lives in changes but his problem remains the same. It is always how to write truly and having found what is true, to project it in such a way that it becomes a part of the experience of the person who reads it. The attitude and projection with which the author creates a story is the tone. A difficult aspect of writing to master, tone is one that transitions a piece of writing from satisfactory to exemplary. The second purpose for the inclusion of contradictory statements is to enlighten the reader about the narrator s emotions versus those of other characters. The impression the reader obtains of how the narrator views the house and setting is predominantly positive, while the opinion his mother has of the house is severely negative. My mother hated it, especially because of the pigeons that cooed all day about the eaves. They had fleas, she said (p.274). The tone of opposition created by presenting both positive and negative aspects of the ideas in the story, enables the reader to gain a clear image of the setting, and to examine both sides of the story. Similar to the way in which two sides are presented to form opposition in the story, two groups of characters create irony. It is ironic that the soldiers who inhabit Jonesville on the Grande take little or no notice of the other residents, while the townspeople consider the soldiers a major part of their lives, and even base their schedules on that of the nearby military post. But whether we taunted or saluted, the distant men in khaki uniforms went about their motions without noticing us at all, is an expression of disappointment made by the narrator (p. 275). The sadness the children feel is ironic when it is paired with the idea that the soldiers exhibit no emotions. The soldiers are both oblivious to and uncaring about their influence on the ... The Holy Bible as a Sustained Allusion Essay The Bible as a Sustained Allusion The Bible is a sustained allusion throughout the course of East of Eden, paralleling with the eternal story of Cain and Abel. According to the Bible, Cain is the quot;tiller of the ground quot; (Genesis 4:2). Caleb Trask, a farmer at heart, made a vast amount of money by selling beans. Upon presenting Adam with his present of fifteen thousand dollars, Adam not only discarded the gift, but caused Cal pain by comparing him to his godly brother, Aron, who graduated high school and started college at an early age. Adam wished that Cal could have given him something to be proud of something momentous. Adam s reaction induced Cal with excessive wrath out of rejection. In the Bible, the Lord quot;had ... With the help of Samuel Hamilton, Adam s benign neighbor, Adam s farm immediately started to prosper. Samuel took to liking the intent Adam right away, however, upon meeting Cathy, he felt an ominous chill of calamity. After delivering her twin boys, Cathy desperately tried to leave Adam, and when he restrained her, she brutally shot him in the shoulder and departed. While sprawled on the floor, soaking in a pool of his own blood, Adam faintly heard quot;the monotonous sound that had been there all along . . . the cry of the twins, wanting their dinner. He had forgotten to feed them quot; (266). The next time Samuel Hamilton dropped by the Trask s place, he was appalled to discover that Adam had not named the twins yet. Referring to the Bible belonging to his devout wife, Samuel and Adam arrived at the names Caleb and Aron. Ten years later, when an elderly Samuel Hamilton stopped by to say goodbye to Adam and his family, Lee, the Trask s learned servant, told Samuel of an interesting topic that had stimulated him. Since their conversation ten years earlier, Lee researched the Bible story of Cain speaking to the Lord, and found it intriguing that the Hebrew word to describe the lesson was timshel, meaning thou mayest. This story depicts the internal conflict of the barber when the most feared military captain comes into the shop for a shave. The protagonist the barber contemplates, weather to kill Torres his enemy and fulfil his revolutionary duties, or shave the Captain without letting one single drop of blood fall on behalf of a good barber. At the end when the Captain is still alive he shocks the barber revealing that he knew all along that he was secretly a rebel and what he wanted to do. This piece of writing has many interesting aspects to analyze, but symbolization, theme and connections were the most meaningful to me. The razor was a very symbolic object according to many people. If you don t already know, symbolization is when we take a solid object and give it and abstract idea. The razor symbolizes countless things throughout this piece. It was evident that it symbolized his profession but, it also could be used as a murder weapon. The moral dilemma it represented of the barber was the most prominent to me. All through the text the barber was faces this internal conflict of to kill or not to kill. Weather to stand by his moralityor collective beliefs. Weather to do what he thought was right or to do what he was told to be right. These opposites clash and had resulted in conflict. Hero or murderer? His destiny was set on ... Comparing Odyssey And Perseus Of Homer s Odyssey If I were to summarize Clash of the Titans, it would be that Perseus, son of Zeus, watched his entire family die as a result of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, as a result of which he pursues the gorgon medusa in order to use her head to defeat the kraken. My summery of the Greek version would be that, Perseus; son of Zeus was cast out on the ocean with his mother in a trunk. After being discovered by a fisherman, Perseus grows up accepting his godly half, goes after medusa to save his mother s marriage. In the process he saves a women who soon became his wife using the head of the gorgon, Medusa. Though the story and movie were from very different time periods there are still several similarities. Several similarities between the movie and Greek version include, Perseus saved a women using the head of the then slain gorgon medusa. Another similarity would be that he and his mother were found in the ocean floating in a trunk in both versions. Yet another similarity between the versions would be that, Perseus refuses to live on Olympus with his father. In both versions, the reason for the princess being sacrificed, result from the queen insulting the beauty of the goddess Aphrodite. On the southern plantations the slaves did most of the labor on the plantations. Even though they did most of the work they were often treated harshly by their master. Slaverylasted for over hundreds of years until Abraham Lincolnpassed the Emancipation Proclamationduring the Civil War. Although he passed the Emancipation Proclamation the slaves were not freed until years later after Reconstruction. In the South Carolina many people owned plantations and slaves. The slaves had strict rules to follow and often were treated harshly. In an attempt the make the African American lives better Abraham Lincoln passed the Emancipation Proclamation in order to set all the slaves free and give them equality, although for many this did not happen until years later. • 19. The Consequences And Effects Of Safe Driving Saves Lives Muhammad Chechi Professor Binder Philosophy 12 30 November 2017 Safe Driving Saves Lives Safe driving seems to be very hard for us now. There so many accidents now due to the lack of us being careful and not following the rules. We may think what we are doing isn t bad, or we haven t been caught yet, so we must be good at it. The reality is that we need to think twice about these things before something happens that can change our life or the life of someone else entirely. We may think we can control the situation, but in reality, things can happen so fast that we wouldn t even be able to react to them. The main reasons that cause fatalities and crashes are, driving under the influence, speeding, texting while driving, and not wearing a seatbelt while driving. It doesn t matter how long we have done it or if we haven t been caught, when it does happen it can be a very bad outcome and can happen in a split second. I personally feel that these things have really become a major factor and find it incumbent that something should be done to stop them from happening. An article I read titled, Can Automation and Tougher Laws Save Lives? by Ellen Kennerly talks about some of the causes of fatalities and crashes we tend to have so much of now. Kennerly states, Nearly half of the 2015 fatalities involved an unbelted passenger or driver and about one third were alcohol related. Wow, that is a big number. This quote clearly shows us that wearing our seatbelt can save us from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 20. Letter Writing By A Letter Letter writing is a large part of this chapter playing various different roles. Bechdel first brings up the use of letter writing when she sends a letter home addressing the fact that she might be a lesbian. Although she was unsure of the truth of this statement she still sent a letter home hoping to get a positive response back. This letter triggered a chain of letters between her and her mother. Later in the chapter on page 77 she gets a letter from her mother. Bechdel uses a whole panel to show the letter allowing the viewer to read most of it. This letter looks to have used a type writer and unlike other letters in this chapter seems less personal. Another use of letter writing in this story is when her father was in the army. Bruce and Helen exchanged various letters back and forth during his time in the army mainly discussing the book she had sent him. The way Bechdel incorporates these letters into the composition is an interesting way to fill a panel. Some of the letters take up the whole panel focusing on key parts of the letter. Some letters are part of the panel as a speech balloon. There are also full letters that occupy a large space in a panel. On page 62 and 63 these examples are present. A square panel on 62 shows only Bruce s handwriting. The handwriting represents a sentimental quality. Bechdel might have used his actual letter for this panel. He writes about the book called The Far Side of Paradise sent to him by Helen. The use of fragments of written ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 21. Rita Hayworth And Shawshank Redemption Analysis In the novella, Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption , the reader follows the life of Andy Dufresne, who is wrongly convicted of murdering his wife for sleeping with a golf pro. Author Stephen King describes Andy s experiences, and his attempt to escape from Shawshank Prison. Red, Andy s most valuable friend while in prison, is also in prison for killing his wife, but in contrast to Andy, he actually did it. Andy is consistently denied freedom through parole or when evidence arises proving his innocence, because of his role running the illegal money laundering scheme for Warden Norton. Throughout the novella, both characters display moments of similar, but also at times vastly different, levels of hope. King uses characters with various amounts of hope to prove that it is important to maintain hope through difficult situations in order to improve one s life, and that without hope one won t progress in life. Andy s hope throughout the novella illustrates that hope is a positive quality to have in order to get through difficult situation in life. For example, Andy is persistent writing letters to the state, asking for more money for building a better library. This suggests that Andy is hopeful for additional funds for his library, which not only improve his relationship with the other prisoners, but also insures he is on good terms with the guards and is left alone while planning to escape. King uses this to reveal how hope can be constructive towards forming a better life, even when stuck in a terrible place such as prison. Additionally, when a new prisoner comes to Shawshank with evidence that Andy is innocent, Andy does not give up hope. When Warden Norton tells Andy that any attempt to prove his innocence won t work, Andy exclaims, Well, it s a chance, isn t it? (King 66). This confirms that Andy hasn t let himself become institutionalized and desires to leave prison and prove his innocence. Andy s hope leads him to not be afraid of questioning authority, even though he is powerless. Without hope, Andy will be controlled by Norton and exploited. Furthermore, when Andy is talking to Red about escaping to Mexico, Red describes that Andy strolled off, as if he were a free man who had just made another ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 22. Lean Management Is A Method Of Running A Business According to (Rouse, 2013), lean management is a method of running a business that supports the concept of constant improvement. Therefore, lean management is a long term approach to work that thoroughly seeks to achieve small, incremental changes in processes in order to improve efficiency and quality. The theory was first established between 1948 and 1975 by Taiichi Ohnoand Shigeo Shingo the two Japanese engineers (Arnheiter and Maleyeff, 2005). But the method was initially found in the works of Henry Ford, who Ohno greatly appreciated and studied Ford because of his accomplishments and the reduction of waste at early Ford assembly plants (Arnheiter and Maleyeff, 2005). Thus Lean management eliminates all forms of waste, decreasing errors, shrinking inventory and ordering or supplying parts just in time, therefore decreasing warehousing costs. (Rand, 2013) identified the seven forms of waste, including waste in unnecessary motion, over processing and transportation. Thus by doing this it will saves the business money and allows workers to pay attention to more value creating activities. There are four main principles of lean which are (Rouse, 2013) firstly defining the value from the perspective of the end customer, identifying each steps in a business process and eliminating non value activities, making the value creating steps occur in tight sequence and then finally repeating the first three steps on a constantly basis until all the waste has been eliminated. Australopithecus Research Paper Discovery Australopithecus afarensis was discovered in Ethiopia on November 24, 1974 by paleoanthropologists Donald Johanson, Maurice Taieb, Yves Coppens, and Tom Gray in the Afar Depression in Ethiopia, Africa. The first fossil was found by Johanson in 71 when he discovered a shinbone and femur. They returned in 1974 and the team found several hundred fragments of bones all belonging to a single individual. The individual was deemed to be a female based on the width of the pelvic opening. The fossil samples were argon argon dated by Robert Walter in 1992 and it was determined that she was approximately 3.22 3.18 million years old. Characteristics Male Australopithecines are on average 4 11 and weigh about 94 pounds while females average 3 5 and weigh close to 64 pounds. The most notable characteristic of Lucy was found in her knee, which indicated that the species walked upright or was bipedal. Lucy s limb proportions also provide insight to her bipedality. Human s hind limbs (legs) are longer than their fore limbs (arms). The ratio between arms and legs is called an intermembral index. The average intermembral index for humans is between 68 70 , while chimpanzees fall around 106 . Lucy s intermembral index is 88 , which falls between both. This suggests that A. afarensis probably walked on the ground with hind limbs and climbed in trees with fore limbs. Lucy s pelvic blades are human like in that they are short and curved forward, making the case for bipedality while on the ground. The location of Lucy s shoulder, however, provides insight that she spent time climbing in trees. Furthermore, Lucy s sacrum is wide and short at the top and goes in laterally like in humans. A wider and shorter sacrum is better for distributing weight through the pelvis. This follows with bipedal theories because this shaped sacrum is better ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is as valueless to him as is disease... kill his neighbor with a poisonous bite. In the essay written by Mark Twain, The Damned Human Race , Twain emphasizes the moral sense on how the damned human race exemplifies the cruelty and the immorality of our society. Throughout the novel The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Mark Twain utilizes satirein order to illustrate how he criticizes and ridicules society. Through satire, he decries society s morality, inhumanity, and hypocrisy in order to further illustrate how he criticizes society and to emphasize how it affects a person by influencing one s decisions and one s personality. He also emphasizes morality, inhumanity, and hypocrisy in order to replace violence, cruelty, and ignorance to the moral sense of humanity. In the novel, Twain utilizes morality through Huckleberry Finn s decisions in order to illustrate Huckleberry s conscience and his moral crisis. An example of Huckleberry s morality is in page eight: They talked it over, and they was going to rule me out, because they said every boy must have a family or somebody to kill, or else it wouldn t be fair and square for the others... but all at once I thought of a way, and so I offered them Miss Watson they could kill her. Volumetric tools include burets, pipets, and volumetric flasks and can be used to react an unknown substance with a substance of known concentration to find the molarity of an unknown. This specific experiment sought to find the concentrationof an HCl solution by reacting it with a standard NaOH solution. An indicator was added to show when this reaction had occurred (Beran 2012). The hypothesis predicted that the molarity of the unknown substance would have a concentration of HCl that lied between .07M and .09M. This was based on the prelab activity with practice calculations that had numbers... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is most likely because the hypothesis was based on the pre lab activity, which had calculations very similar to the predicted molarity range, though was not actually based on the experiment performed. Additionally, the standard deviation indicates that the data is quite precise, with a deviation of only .002. This deviation could be due to slightly inaccurate measurements, potentially caused by instruments that were not cleaned properly or NaOH not falling into the Erlenmeyer flask when it was being swished during titration. For example, the buret may not have been rinsed to the fullest extent, causing minor contamination. However, small errors are inevitable in experiments and can only be minimized. Conclusion This experiment appropriately exemplified how to use volumetric instruments when finding molarity of an unknown concentration. It also showed how to calculate the molarity of one substance based on titration recordings. Although the data had small divergence, the data recorded was still fairly precise due to an experiment with minimal user ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 26. A Brief Note On The Computerized Patient Record System Essay Introduction Assessment The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) operates one of the largest nationwide healthcare systems. (Tsai, 2012). In 1998 the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) was released at a national level. (Lovis, 2011). CPRS has been made possible because of the extensive set of clinical and administrative application within VistA. VistA is the Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture. It is VA s Health Information Technology (IT) system. It provides an integrated inpatient and outpatient electronic health record for VA patients, and administrative tools to help VA deliver quality medical care to Veterans. (Lovis, 2011). CPRS organizes and presents all relevant data on a patient to support clinical decision making. It allows clinicians to interact with the patient s data, add problems, notes and enter orders. It supports alerts, notification and guidelines. (Lovis, 2011). The adaption of VistA to CPRS, the new addition to this was My HealtheVet portal. My HealtheVet is a secure website. Lately, many people not in conform with their biological genderhave been becoming the opposite sex, a transgender. Some of the most recent well known cases of becoming transgender have to be Bruce Jenner and Rodrigo Heng song of republican senator, Ileana Ros Lehtinen. This brings me to the article, when a lawsuit in Minnesota was placed. The transgender which is labeled, Student X , was lifting her clothes and asking to trade body parts. • 32. An Example Of Perseverance In Warriors Don T Cry How many times in life have you struggled but got through a difficult time? That is called perseverance. The definition of perseverance is Steadfastness in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success. Synonyms are persistence and determination. It originated from the latin word perseverare. Right now the world has been filled with natural disasters, from hurricanes to wildfires. Everyone that this affected has been forced to persevere through it because there is not much that they have the ability to do besides staying strong. In all of the nonfiction literature we have read there were many different examples of perseverance from many different people. I decided to choose three. For my first example Melba Pattillo Beals from Warriors Don t Cry . There is numerous examples of the Little Rock 9 and her doing something despite difficulty. For the second example of perseverance I chose Maya Angelou. Through her life there were countless times that she was faced adversity and still achieved success. My third example is Earl Simmons (DMX) from the book E.A.R.L . He went through a tough time at almost all time growing up and he never gave up and achieved success. Perseverance creates success; therefore, when you stick through something you can accomplish what you want. • 37. Definition Essay On Friendship The word friendship is defined as having a relationship between you and a friend. The definition is easier to interpret if you divide the word in half. A friend is someone you care about and someone you trust with anything. The ship portion of the word refers specifically to the relationship you have with someone. After reconstructing the word, you have friendship, which is mainly built from trust, common interests and support. Trust is the foundation of any friendship. Without trust, relationships shatter due to the uncertainty of the other person s actions. For example, you can trust a true friend to be alone in your house and expect him/her to resist the urge to steal valuables. On the other hand, if you leave a person you assume you trust in your house with valuables, a less favorable outcome would occur. This is the reason why trust is vital to every friendship. Common interests are the cause of nearly all friendships. Whether it be that you both appreciate a similar sports team or the same genre of movie, these are hobbies you both have in common. The storming and capitulation of the Winter Palace on the night of the 7th to 8th of November marked the beginning of Soviet rule. Lenin was elected as the Chair of the Council of People s Commissars by the Russian Congress of Soviets. In April 1917 Lenin published his April Thesis. This document outlined Lenin s aims for the future: to end the war; to give all power to the Soviet; to give all property and land to the people and worldwide revolution. After the Bolsheviks seizure of power, they soon faced many social and economic problems. Numerous observers during the revolution, had thought that the new government would only... Lenin ordered that any German conditions should be accepted but he had great difficulty in convincing his colleagues such as Trotsky that this was the way forward. He realized that the Bolsheviks needed to get a quick treaty from the Germans to bring about the end of the war so that the Bolsheviks could concentrate on the work they needed to do in Russia. Eventually peace was signed in March 1918 in the form of the Treaty of Brest Litovsk. Under the treaty, Russia lost Riga, Lithuania, Livonia, Estonia and some of White Russia. Russia ended up losing 62 million people, 27% of farm land, 26% of railway lines and 74% of iron and coal reserves. Some historians argue that the signing of the Treaty of Brest Litovsk was one of Lenin s major failures in his policies. Lenin s practical and realistic approach enabled him to strengthen the Bolshevik party even more. After the winning the Civil War against the Whites, the Russia economy was left in ruins. The Bolshevik Party faced many problems; the Kronstadt rising, political opposition and economic crisis this meant that Lenin had to remove War Communismto avoid disaster. Lenin thought that the collapse of Russian economy was mainly due to the introduction of War Communism during the Civil War. The majority of resources were allocated to the civil war fronts. Questions On Foreign Agents And International Property Owners 6.How to Find Foreign Realtors How can you find some proper foreign realtors and contact them directly if as a property owner you want to bypass your local realtors (or cannot find any with the foreign connections) and pay only the foreign part of the real estate commission? Or are you just this local realtor or a developer and willing to find a partner in sales in a foreign country to send you buyers? For that you have to go to the foreign internet with the help of a bilingual person at your side and search there for advertisers of properties for sale from your country or area or city to further ask them to become your business partners. The foreign real estate agents who advertise international properties in the foreign internet or print media (with online editions that you can see in the internet) are especially interesting to international property owners, real estate agents and developers of many countries of the world in the following two aspects: 1.These foreign agents already show their specific interest in selling properties from a particular country that they advertise to their buyers, and as they obviously spend money on ads it means that they are serious about working with this country, have expertise in this country real estate and can advise their buyers accordingly; 2.They might already have some prospective foreign buyers for properties from this particular country because of their recent ads. Everyone here would always stop and talk about what is going on, no matter who you are. Such community does exist, but only in the small town of Grover s Corners, New Hampshire. The value and importance of community is shown in Our Town by Thornton Wilderusing repetition and pattern of events. A few important times this is shown is the play is when Emily and George s disagreements with each other help grow their relationship. When Howie Newsome greets neighbors while he delivers the milk across town is a significant part of Grover s Corners community. Emily s death is also meaningful to the community s connections to each other. The value of community is shown when Emily would repeatedly argue with George but their disagreements made their relationship better. One small disagreement between George and Emily happened on their way home from school one day: GEORGE. I don t mean the answers, Emily, of course not ... just some little hints ... EMILY. Oh, I think hints are allowed. So ah if you get stuck, George, you whistle to me; and I ll give you some hints. (29) In this passage, Emily s hesitation shows she unsure if she is willing to help George with his work. The first two instances were mainly due to an unorganized system because of the early establishment. However, there is a recurring pattern in the later elections. In 1800, the problem was that the electors had two votes, one for President and one for the Vice President, which, based on the outcome, resulted in the adoption of the 12th Amendment which ensured that a tied vote for President wouldn t happen again. While the area of Tambopata has many arguments for its potential use, sustainable soybean cultivation is the best approach to improve Peruvian infrastructure, economy and future preservation of natural areas. In the same study, 3.3 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions will be lessened by 2020 through sustainable soybean production. These methods allow for a reduction in overall costs due to decreased overhead in both machinery and herbicide applications (Green, 2010). Perhaps the greatest benefit of using conservation tillage soybean production over other potential land uses is the consecutive insurance of high yields in small areas. Due to these high yields per hectare, more land can be saved for the Tambopata Reserve and its inhabitants. Additionally, if soybeans that were raised within the reserve were taxed, money can come back into the park to aid in its prosperity and protection of the local soybean market. Many guidelines have been implemented in neighboring Brazil and Paraguay to ensure both economic growth and rainforest protection that could be implemented in Tambopata. If soybean production were undertaken in Tambopata, the crops would be raised under World Wildlife Federation and the Nature Conservancy s guidelines of Forest Friendly Soy (Schnoecker, 2007). This had been true for centuries; in 1861, however, this was all changed when Tsar Alexander II emancipated the serfs and gave them freedom from ownership. The Tsar was also aware that much of western Europe looked on serfdom as being akin to slavery, and looked down on Russia as a result. As one historian has remarked: The strip system, involving the use of antiquated farming implements and techniques, had long ago been abandoned on the agriculturally advanced nations. Its continued use in Russia was a major reason why the nation could not meet it s food needs. [1] Alexander was also acutely aware of the threat of a serf uprising. Despite the general contentedness of the majority of serfs, there were a significant number who were not happy, and many groups of political activists, such as the Narodniks, had begun stirring up discontentment. In a population of 67 million, Russia had 23 million serfs belonging to 103,000 landlords. Serfs therefore outnumbered their landlords by over 200 to one, and so Alexander was right to be concerned about what might happen should a large uprising occur.
