The Current Policy Rate Of The Central Bank Essay
On the other hand, the ZLB is a global phenomenon, The main policy rate of the central bank is
currently at zero (or close to zero) in 22 out of 34 OECD countries displays the worldwide struggle
of central banks since the global financial crisis (Wiederholt, 2015, 1). At the ZLB central banks
must look at unconventional policies, however Japan shows us it remains extremely difficult to
stimulate growth and inflation. In 1999 the BOJ introduce Zero Interest Rate policy (ZIRP) when
it lowered in the interest rate to virtually zero. The BOJ also incorporated future policy
statements indicating the rate would remain lower for longer this is to lower future expected
interest rates and thereby boost spending immediately and cause reflation (Williams, 2014, 6).
However, expected inflation will only increase if the bank credibly commits to its policy and it is
merely not transitional. The BOJ stated ZIRP would remain until until deflationary concerns
disappeared which is too vague and does not give private agents enough information, therefore
casting doubt on competence of the BOJ (www.boj.or.jp, 1999). Setting an inflation target would
help quantify the BOJ objectives. Krugman (1998) argued for the BOJ to credibly promise to be
irresponsible and not reverse ZIRP once inflation increases plus set an inflation target higher than
desirable. Bernanke (1999) agrees by setting an inflation target of 3 4% would highlight the
movement of BOJ away from a deflationary regime.

A Smiling Buddhist Monk
The historical work I have chosen is called A smiling Buddhist Monk , more commonly known
as Laughing Buddha . The sculpture is from the Henan province, located in northern China,
made in the Ming dynasty, dated AD 1486. The artist of this work is unknown as it is from this
era but the sculptor may have been a Buddhist monk. Manually constructed and carved from
Stoneware, this Buddha is glazed in the sancai palette, meaning created from a colour scheme
based of three colours. The modern work I have chosen is called Our Gods , created by Liu
Xiaoxian in 2000, a Chinese Australian born in 1963. His work is an altered and edited
photograph compiling of two pieces; Buddha created from 22,500 miniscule figures of Christ, and
Christ created from 22,500 figures of Buddha. The contemporary work, Our Gods is based off the
historical work Laughing Buddha , as it incorporates the image of the Buddha into its work,
symbolising the happiness and foundation of the Buddhist religion.... Show more content on

The method of construction corresponds to the majority of imperial Chenghua sculptures either
made from ceramics or delicately formed and coloured porcelains. Buddha is traditionally
depicted as an obese, bald man wearing a robe, adorned with prayer beads, and carries out the
practice of Buddhism, Zen and I Kuan Tao. He bears few items, portraying that he is generous and
gives all he has but is still full of joy and happiness. In most cases, Buddha is embellished with
large ears and is praised by all who greet him. The word Buddha , refers to the one who is awake .
Buddha is a figure which displays the acts of contentment, generosity, wisdom and kindness and is

Disadvantages Of Rowing Machines
A rowing machine offers you a great chance to get a full body workout. It does so by providing a
low impact exercise without having to damage your joints. The trainee enjoys all the benefits of
cardio workouts in one room. Thus, there is no high risk of getting injuries as with other kinds of
fitness machines. However, it is important to first understand the various types of these machines
prior buying. By doing so, you are sure of getting the best machine that will suit your needs. Such
types include the following.
1.Piston resistance machine
This rowing machine contains arms that are mounted with hydraulic cylinders. It has features that
make it more beneficial for use. In need to know some of these features and how beneficial they are?

This is very crucial especially to the beginners in order to have a comfortable training session. It is
also very vital for warming up at a lower stroke rate prior vigorous session.
4.High intensity rowing machine
This is yet another great workout machine that you may use. Is it not clear to you what makes it
very important? Well, it is none other but its features that are associated with the following
benefits. To start with, this machine is as fast and hard as you can for a pre determined period.
This stimulates the racing conditions needed. However, this one is not good for beginners. On the
other hand, it is very beneficial for both intermediate as well as advanced rowers. It is favored by
the elite competition rowers for building stamina both physical and mental.
5.Water resistance rowing machine
The water resistance machine keeps on increasing its resistance as the pace of the trainee keeps
on increasing. Its resistance changes as the trainee removes or add water in the resistance tank.
This gives the user more control over the workout. It operates silently since it uses water to
operate. It is the best choice for those looking for a machine that they can keep in one place for
long periods of time. it is also good for those who want a real feeling of rowing on

The Most Influential Thinkers Of The German Enlightenment Era
Immanuel Kant was born April 22, 1724 in Königsberg. Kant is considered one of the most
influential thinkers of the German Enlightenment era. He could easily be labeled one of the
greatest and most important Western philosophers of all time.
Kant was born the fourth of nine children to Johann and Anna Kant. His father was a harness
maker, and the large family lived a rather humble life. The family practiced Pietism, an 18th century
branch of the Lutheran Church. As a result of this, Kant s early education was at Saint George s
Hospital School and then Collegium Fredericianum, a Pietist school.
In 1740, Kant entered at the University of Königsberg where he enrolled as a theology student.
Six years later, the death of Kant s father left him without income to continue his education and
forced him to leave the university. For the next ten years, Kant worked as a private tutor for wealthy
families. During this time away from school, Kant published numerous papers dealing with
scientific questions surrounding rationalism and empiricism. The most important being General
Natural History of Theory of the Heavens, which he published in 1755. In this work, Kant talks
about the origin of the solar system and concludes it was a result of gravitational connection of
atoms. After his publication and returning to school to receive his doctorate of philosophy, Kant
spent the next fifteen years as a lecturer and tutor for the University of Königsberg. Even with the
work load that came with

Caplan s Crisis Theory Analysis
Caplan s crisis theory of the ABC X and Double ABC X models stood out the most. His model
offered an understanding of why some families are better able to negotiate their way through
transitions and tragedies. While others faced with similar if not identical stresses of family change,
may give up or be quickly exhausted (Jackson Cherry Erford, 2014). The concepts of crisis became
very meaningful in understanding the essential building block in the structure of human growth
and development. As a crisis counselor, the goal is to assist individuals in restoring equilibrium to
their biopsychosocial functioning and to minimize the potential for psychological trauma. In
addition, children and adults experience crisis in different ways. Therefore, I have connected
Erikson s developmental and situations, crisis theory in understanding the social and cultural
factors. Learning that when a community is in crisis their cultural perspective, religious values, and
beliefs are affected (Corey, 2013). Therefore, the language I choose to use will have a significant
impact on the clients (Jordan, 2007). Furthermore, I understand the unlimited goal of a therapist is to

tools away from Special Topics. The first being, it is crucial for a clinician to make self care, a
routine. After all, if the counselor is not emotionally balanced how can they help anyone in crisis.
While the second essential tool is not to fix the problem of a client, but give a patient definition of
the problem that they will be facing. The final tool is to provide clients with resources and
psychoeducational measures; as well as collaborating with other mental health workers during a

History of Afghanistan and Pakistan
Analysis
Historically Afghanistan and Pakistan have had a good relationship. During the 1980s, Afghan
refugees used the Durand Line border to flee the soviet takeover of their country. With funds aid
from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Pakistan hosted over 3 million Afghans
at various refugee camps. In 1999, the United States gave $70 million in assistance to Afghan
refugees in Pakistan. Pakistan also became the major training ground for the Mujahideen rebel
fighters who fought against the Soviet backed Afghan government and the invading Soviet forces.
The Mujahedeen included not only locals but also Arabs and others from over 40 different Islamic
nations. A religious extremist group known as the Taliban took control of Afghanistans government
after the soviet withdrawal and established friendly relations with neighboring Pakistan. Pakistan
used the Taliban to attack Indian interests in Afghanistan, however after the overthrow of the
Taliban in late 2001 by the United States and allies, Afghan Pakistani relations became strained.
India views Afghanistan as a means of access to Central Asian trade and energy resources, as well
as a means of advancing its own broader domestic and regional interest. Central Asia is one of the
fastest growing markets in the world; and economic activity in the region has had steady growth ,
expanding at about 6 percent per year(imf,2014). Growth in the Central Asian region has mainly
been driven by strong domestic demand, oil,

Heterosexuality And Homosexuality
I m gay. The words that can ruin a relationship or better one, but as much as you hope for the
positive reaction, it can also be the negative. All my life I ve been running from my truth, and
never confronting it. I was raised by two loving and caring parents, yet I ve always known at the
end of the day that love could disappear. I always feared the day to tell my parents about my
sexuality, and even writing this essay gets me nervous. My parents were both raised catholic,
and have very strict views on the world and that includes the idea that heterosexuality is the
norm. I didn t start thinking about my sexuality until I was around twelve, and I was dating a
girl for two years whom I became close to, but I never shared an attraction towards her. We
bonded like best friends, but there was never much of a romantic side to our relationship. I never
found this weird I just continued until I began to get harassed by my own soccer team about not
having any kind of romantic side to my relationship with the girl. My soccer team became violent,
and never let go the fact that I wasn t interacting the way men should be interacting towards a
woman. The soccer team then made sure I left the team, and one of my teammates tripped me
which caused my leg to twist. After being able to recover I quit the team, and quickly I became
depressed and attempted my dance with death, but my mother walked in the room before I could

There are samples of 45 units from each facility.
The required test will be a test for two independent samples ; the Z test and the t test are
generally used. The Z test is used with large samples (above 30 observations) and the t test with
small samples. Alternatively, the Z test can be used with smaller samples when the data are
normally distributed and population variances are known. In this case with a sample of 45
automobiles from each facility, the Z test can be used. Here, we only seek to examine whether the
gas mileage is the same for products of the two facilities. Hence a two tailed test is appropriate. If
on the other had if we sought to examine whether automobiles from facility A produced
automobiles that gave a higher gas mileage than those manufactured at facility B, then a one tailed
test would be appropriate.

The New Age Day Of The Wild
The new age day of the wild, became the wilder, and now it has become the wildest of the west.
Texas lawmakers have in recent years propagated the statewide concept among their constituents
here in Texas that open carry under the 2nd amendment has a plausibility toward ameliorating the
typology of violence each community has been inundated by. It has brought trepidation into
people of walking down a street and getting shot at. The question is? Did the state lawmakers did
not cogitate on the consequences of this bill before they determined it to be a safety net, or was it
merely an act of provocation of asking for unwarranted trouble by the open carrylaw? This decision
is also racially biased, and only continues to foment the unabating praetorian behaviour of police
toward minorities along with women. By the harassment of unjustified stops, the iniquitous line of
illicit questions is directed toward minorities, and women alike. However without the attitude that
predisposes minorities, and women alike to react irrationally when confronted by the law just
because they are carrying a weapon. This bill has a double entendre of what open carry really is.

The Kongolese And Christianity In Kongo
For centuries, Africans and their belief systems have been derided. Instead of being studied as valid
and meaningful responses to the universal terms of human existence, African religions have often
been considered exotic objects... peculiar and incomprehensible or repellent. For many Europeans,
Christianitywas by far the superior religion, and they strove to convert Africans. One kingdom
where they seemed to enjoy success was Kongo. By 1704, the people living there had been Catholic
for six generations nearly two centuries. The Kongolese took great pride in this, believing that it
made them superior to their neighbours. Moreover, both the Kongolese and the Church took pride
in the fact that Christianity had come to Kongo not through conquest and forced conversion, but
through the voluntary conversion of JoГЈo I. Despite this achievement, though, the Church more
the Kongolese had to practice Catholicism exactly as the Europeans did. With the coming of Dona
Beatriz Kimpa Vita, who claimed to be possessed by Saint Anthony, this conflict would become
more apparent than ever before. Though the Capuchins succeeded in having Dona Beatriz burnt at
the stake, they failed in their ultimate goal of fully converting the Kongolese to their form of
Catholicism.
The knowledge of Catholicism displayed by the Kongolese was impressive. Though many
Europeans wondered about their penchant for such things as sacred stones and ancestors graves...
they never doubted that the

Holistic Case Studies
The patient in this particular case study is an adult man of 45 years with Down syndrome and a
moderate intellectual disability. This man also has a chronic illness, which is type 2 diabetes.
This man lives in a community group home that is staffed by support workers and he attends a
disability specific day program Monday to Friday. This case study will be reviewed from the
point of view of the community nurse managing the holistic case needs of this particular patient.
Holistic needs involve a number of different considerations, and must include an overall
understanding of the patient s medical needs, as well as his physical and emotional needs. The
goal as the nurse will be to develop a holistic care plan, including an analysis of the health
challenges of this individual, an analysis of activity and participation using the ICF model, and an
overall recommendation for an intervention strategy for the patient. The intervention strategy will
include consideration of all the different aspects of this individual s difficulties and disabilities.

Sandra Bem s The Lenses Of Gender
Sandra Bem s book, The Lenses of Gender, discusses the three lenses of gender: androcentrism,
gender polarization and biological essentialism. The first sense of gender Sandra touches on is
androcentrism, which is the idea that men create the standard for society and females do not meet
the standard. The most important concept in this reading is the idea that women are naturally
given the caregiver role because they bear children. This is important because men are given the
responsibility of defending the family and collecting food, because they were bigger and stronger
and also because they did not have their mobility limited by the continuous presence of children
(Bem, 1993, p. 31). The significance of this is that it seems to be the biggest

Exploring The Depth Of Romance And How Coppola s Dracula
Rationale:
My feature article will be exploring the depth of romance and how and why Coppola decided to
develop theses deep ideas of love. I will also be discussing Coppola s decision to use very old
film techniques. This is will allow the reader of the feature article to further understand why
Coppola did the things that he did and therefore allow them to have a better understanding of the
film. I will also be exploring the attitudes, values and beliefs that were held in the time period of the
original novel and how Coppola developed and presented that to a modern 90 s audience. TRUE

Love is not black and white and Francis Ford Coppola s ageless classic Bram Stoker s Dracula
epitomises the many layers that come with romance. The dark love story highlights the romance

novel as an iconic and memorable classic. Coppola s imaginative view of a timeless tale embodies
the gothic genre, with strong themes of romance, sexuality and lust, as the complexity of love is
exposed. Coppola allows us an insight into his processes when creating this epic narrative.

Stonebridge s problems to be resolved
As of 2006, hotel information systems had been fragmented. With applications catering to specific

hampered by legacy systems which were often incompatible and hard to update. [2] Since
Stonebridge had acquired many hotels while growing, it had many old compatibility related

Invoice processing was inefficient and error prone. This process had been totally paper and manual

Equality in Hypocrisy Society has trained itself to spot the flaws in celebrities, government officials,

scandalous without anyone thoroughly looking into the situation, unlike with celebrities or

flaw is hypocrisy, something that religious people are called out for frequently. However, religionis
not what determines the level of severity of a hypocrite, and in fact has little to do with it at all.

Narcissistic Behavior
There are two developments in the Western society that help in the rise of narcissistic behavior.
The first is that of the attention it takes for parents to reach that top of financial achievement in
Western society. While there are many parents who do a great job raising children, the careers
that often can bring such wealth take the parents away from the children and with the wealth and
no guidance from parents it is easier for children to develop such a narcissistic disorder. They can
be spoiled at times and other times be rejected this flip flop culture can lead to a lack of empathy
and a need to feel grandiose within themselves.
The second part of the growth narcissism would be the exaltation of celebrities. The range of
individuals whom are raised up to an almost godlike level in our society, is a horrifying thing.
We have gotten to a level of where we almost worship movie stars, musicians, athletes, and even
politicians. But in the last few years even more, with the developments of reality TV it is almost
a matter of luck or what kind of creative circumstance you can put yourself in that grants fame
and power. With all of these people being looked to as higher than the regular person, it is no
surprise that some have developed a narcissistic disorder and exaggerate their own fame and glory.

As head of the second chancery, Machiavelli was also soon assigned the further job of secretary to
the Ten of War, the committee responsible for Florence s diplomatic relations. This meant that in
addition to his routine office duties, Machiavelli sometimes traveled abroad to act as spokesman for
the Ten.
During the next fourteen years, Machiavelli was sent on numerous diplomatic missions to France,
Switzerland, and Germany. His observations abroad resulted in many of the ideas that form the
basis for the major statements found in his political works. While in France, Machiavelli observed
the effect of having one prince ruling a united country and in 1512 he wrote his most famous
treatise The Prince. Remembering how the French benefitted from having one principality ruled
by one prince, Machiavelli intended The Prince to serve as a guide to centralize Italy under one
principality, as well as how to gain, maintain political power. Most importantly, The Prince suggests
how to rule effectively and what kind of prince is best.
Dedicated to Lorenzo DiMedici, The Prince provides a blueprint for how to take control of other
lands and how to maintain power over them. The Prince is different because Machaivelli avoids
purely theoretical issues and focues on how things actually are, rather than speculating on how they
might be. Drawing examples from his personal experiences and

Commentary On Speak By Laurie Halse Anderson
1. Teen activist and 2014 Nobel Peace prize winner Malala Yousafzai said, I raise up my voice
not so that I can shout, but so that those without a voice can be heard . For whom have you
raised your voice? One of the most compelling books I read in my life was called Speak by
Laurie Halse Anderson. It is a story about a young high school girl who was raped by the
quarterback of her high school s football team one night at a party. This immediate damage of this
traumatic event was her ability to speak out about what happened to her that dark night. As an
eighth grader, I was very frustrated at the fact that this young girl had so many opportunities to
bring justice to her rape, but never did all because she was still suffering from her experience. By
the end of the book, she finally mustered up the courage to say something,... Show more content on

I believe I didn t understand her struggle simply because I had nothing to speak out about, but
this would soon change by the time I got to high school. It was not until my ninth grade that I
realized I was not a heterosexual male. It would take another two and a half yearsfor me to
reveal my sexuality to another person. While I am not comparing rape to homosexuality, I am
stating I understand the angst and self hate that the main character of Anderson s book felt.
Growing up, I was told being gay was a one way ticket to Hell and how since God hates faggots,
so should I. When discriminatory remarks like these were made around me, something inside of
me shrunk and I instantly became silent, almost like they were speaking about me. Feelings like
these arose years before I came to understand I was gay, but never would I had thought that certain

Analysis Of The Article Sounds Of L.a
This quarter, the Arts and Entertainment section of U.C.L.A. s student newspaper The Daily Bruin
is running a music column titled Sounds of L.A. This column explores how various Los Angeles
neighborhoods influence musicians that are based in the city. Including the rock n roll landmark of
Laurel Canyon, the modern indie beacon of Echo Park, and the rough and tumble underground
punk scene of East L.A., Los Angeleshas birthed hundreds of artists across all genres. I am the
writer of The Daily Bruin s Sounds of L.A. column, and the more time I spend interviewing and
researching these musicians, the more I wonder if the causal arrow actually points in a different
direction. While the history and atmosphere of Los Angeles s various neighborhoods could
influence the artists that call the city home, it is more likely that these musicians are affecting the
areas they inhabit, creating communities that reflect their collective mindsets. It is the artists who
shape these neighborhoods and turn each section of Los Angeles into areas with individual
personalities, using their music to communicate en mass the image and culture that they are
promoting. Laurel Canyon is known for its historic rock n roll past, a narrative that began in the
1960s when artists like Frank Zappa, Jim Morrison and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young first
moved into the Hollywood Hills. Today, musicians travel from across the globe to be inspired by
the nature and spirit that shaped these rock icons.

Summary Of The Sonnet Of A Wedding
Looking at your lovely figure with him
Up at the altar eager for love s kiss
It s obvious to me that you re in bliss
Lips a blooming rose, eyes lowered and dim
All faces stay joyous with not one grim5
The wedding ends with him saying I ll miss
You during the honeymoon, big sister
I just smile at him, posture straight and prim.
Thus in the spring sprouts a lonesome flower
Not knowing of the sun s comforting heat10
Yet it knows the bitterness of the wind
I cannot say time will grant me power
To forget that we once shared a bed sheet
I only know I ll remember we sinned
I chose an Italian sonnet because I was interested in trying my hands at a sonnet. I was curious
about the other closed forms, but they seemed more difficult to write compared to a sonnet.
Also, I thought that an Italian sonnet would fit the image my poem was taking: a wedding with
a secret. Since an Italian sonnet starts with an octave introducing a situation before ending with
a sestet revealing a new perspective, it was perfect for my idea. Adding on, all the sonnets in the
book focused on love which also encouraged my picking a sonnet to write. I ve never been at a
wedding this dramatic, but I thought that it would be an unique experience to witness. I also
thought that broken hearted people may be able to relate to it; I ve never been in this kind of
relationship, so I can t claim that these reactions would be realistic. I thought that the rime scheme
would be easier compared

Book Review Of Sherman Alexie s Superman And Me
In his essay, Superman and Me, Sherman Alexie explains how books allowed him to escape the
societal expectations for Native Americans. Alexie was raised on a Spokane tribe reservation in
Washington state. He portrays his childhood at the reservation as revolving around literature. He
then describes how his father piled literature in every room of his house, from Western action
novels to comics to books about the Vietnam War. Alexie claims that a Superman comic allowed
him to teach himself how to read, by looking at the drawings, dialogue, and the script and
making assumptions. As a result of learning to read at the age of three, he advanced quickly in
school. Alexie then compares his advancement with a non Indian child s, explaining how he
received little recognition due to his race and society s expectation for Native American
children. He believes that he was too smart, too arrogant, and too determined to fail. In order to
save his future, Alexie read anything from cereal boxes to auto repair manuals. He also stayed up
late into the night reading books to gain additional knowledge. As a result of all of this reading,
dedication, and perseverance, Alexie was able to go to college. Earning a college degree prepared
him for his future career: a successful writer. He writes novels, short stories and poems. Along with
writing, he visits many Native American schools. At the schools, he interacts with students and
encourages them to read and write. He also notices that the

Southern Mesopotamia
Some of the earliest human civilizations arose in southern Mesopotamia, in what is now southern
Iraq, in the fourth millennium B.C.E. In the second half of the millennium, in the south around the
city of Uruk, there was an enormous escalation in the area occupied by permanent settlements. A
large part of that increase took place in Uruk itself, which became a real urban center surrounded by
a set of secondary settlements. While population estimates are notoriously unreliable, scholars
assume that Uruk inhabitants were able to support themselves from the agricultural production of
the field surrounding the city, which could be reached with a daily commute. But Uruk s dominant
size in the entire region, far surpassing that of other settlements,... Show more content on

In the late Uruk period(3500 3100 B.C.E.), there first appeared a type of object that remained
characteristic for Mesopotamia throughout its entire history: the cylinder seal. This was a small
cylinder, usually no more than 3 centimeters high and 2 centimeters in diameter, of shell, bone,
faience (a glassy type of stoneware), or various types of stones, on which a scene was carved
into the surface. When rolled over a soft material primarily the clay of bullae (round seals),
tablets, or clay lumps attached to boxes, jars, or door bolts the scene would appear in relief,
easily legible. The technological knowledge needed to carved it was far superior to that for stamp
seals, which had happened in the early Neolithic period (approximately 10,000 5000 B.C.E.).
From the first appearance of cylinder seals, the carved scenes could be highly elaborate and
refined, indicating the work of specialist stone cutters. Similarly, the late Uruk period shows the
first monumental art, relief, and statuary in the round, made with a degree of mastery that only a

The Guest
In the Guest by Albert Camus, he shows the conflict of interests between the characters and how it
plays a major role in the outcome of the story. The story starts off with Daru, a school teacher and

with this task, Daru decides to give the Arab a choice to either go to the next town in the east on his

underlying theme with their personalities and their conflicts throughout the story.

RDA Fragmentation Research
Still another example showing a RDA fragmentation phenomenon is the mass spectrum of

From the study of mass spectrum of Isoflavanone, masses and structures of the fragments ene, and

THE MacLofferty REARRANGMENT FRAGMENTATION PROCESS
Basically the hetero atom, or functional group in a molecule facilitate the fragmentation, and it is
expressed with О± cleavage. In MacLofferty rearrangement the essential feature is the double bond,

encountered in the compounds, with C (carboxylic acid, esters, aldehydes ketones, amides, lactams,

The Retirement Plan For Retirement Plans
IV.DISCUSSION AND ANALYSIS
a.Retirements Benefits
Another of the concerns that Louis, Joyce, and Bryan have is they would like a retirement program
that will shelter a substantial portion of their income from taxes. Of the myriad of choices, a
company has for retirement plans, the best tax shelter for the owners is the qualified retirement
plan. With the qualified retirement plan Louis, Joyce, and Bryan would be able to eliminate any
current tax hit on a substantial portion of their income and be able to grow tax free in a trust that
they manage.
Through this plan the owners would be able to make tax deductible contributions that would be
based on actuarial calculations that will fund up to 100 percent of his or her highest three years
of compensation or $205,000, whichever is lower. I.R.C. В§415(b)(1). The contributions that will
be made into the fund will depend on the age of the owner, which in the case of Louis, Joyce, and
Bryan would be extremely beneficial since they are getting older and hope to retire soon.
The downside to this plan is that it will only work if everyone participates in it. Meaning that all
of the employees have to participate, which can sometimes feel like a burden on the owners. A lot
of times when companies have a lot of non owner employees, the cost of funding the plans can be
prohibitive and often times make it harder on the owners to actually have the tax shelters that they
are looking for. Because Web Master Inc., has 10 other employees

Islamic Art And Hinduism Art
Every religion in this world has their own culture and thereby their own creative forms, like art,
dance, architecture, music and craft. Like the tradition varies from each religion to religion so as
their Art. I chose to compare Art forms of Islamic Art and Hinduism Art, as Art have always exited
me and inspired me in many ideas, and secondly arts have its own history and reasoning.
Islamic Art
Islamic craftsmanship contrasts, thusly, from such other terms as Buddhist, Christian or Hindu
workmanship, for it alludes not just to expressions of the human experience delivered by or for the
religion of Islam yet to human expressions of every single Islamic society. Islamic workmanship
was not so much made by or for Muslims, for some Islamic craftsmanship was made by Christian,
Jewish, or even Hindu craftsmen working for Muslim supporters, and some Islamic workmanship
was made for non Muslim benefactors. The term does not allude to a specific style or period,
however covers an expansive domain, including human expressions delivered more than one fifth of
the globe in the conventional heartland of Islam amid the last fourteen hundred years.
Islamic craftsmanship incorporates the visual expressions delivered from the 7th century onwards
by individuals who lived inside the region that was possessed by or governed by socially Islamic
populations. It is along these lines an exceptionally troublesome workmanship to characterize in
light of the fact that it covers numerous grounds

The Impact Of Tourism On Tourism Sector Essay
Tourism is one of the most important sectors that apply ICTs which already played a significant
role in this industry. It plays an important and vital role in the economic activity of Tunisia; it
contributes to budget balancing and solves many economic and social problems.
The Promotion of tourism services is the most important role that information and communications
technology contributes in the tourism sector. It ensures the task of delivering information for
tourists on tourism agencies and their programs and therefore promotes positive interaction
between the tourist and tourism organization. Digital services and mobile applications offered by
ICTs assist tourists in finding offers that meet their needs and individual preferences.
Information and communication technologies have a profound and positive impact on tourism in
Tunisia by opening outlets worldwide, improving information flow and realizing efficient gains
through better organization. The Internet, in particular, profoundly changed the distribution of
tourism products and services as well as market structure and consumer behavior. There is a
growing distribution channel, complementary to traditional channels to consumers, tourism
enterprises such as hotels, transport companies, and distributors, including travel agencies and tour

Jazz Workshop And Class Material Essay
Jazz Workshop and Class Material The Jazz Workshop, Wednesday night, was conducted by
Professor Madsen. There were two other groups that performed before the workshop. Those were
two bands were the Rich Armandi Combo, coached by Rich Armandi, and the

that I could hear were very similar to what we have been learning in jazz history. It was interesting
to actually hear everything that was being taught in class being exercised in the concert. In this
paper I will be talking about the concert as well as the parallels that showed up in the concert that
relate back to what our class has been learning.
In the first group, the Rich Armandi Combo, did really well over all. When listening to the
combo there were many things that stood out. You can hear the basic jazz techniques, the drum
keeping time, he never stops or goes off beat. In the second song the combo performed Forest

playing sounded similar to Miles Davis. This was because the trumpeter was playing in a middle
register, but not to low. Just like Davis would play, the trumpet also had great a great sound for the
long notes she was playing in the pieces. The third song they performed

Analysis Of The Piano Lesson By August Wilson
Hans Christian Anderson one said that where words fail, music speaks. Nowhere is this truer than
in The Piano Lesson by August Wilson. The Piano Lesson tells the story of family that struggles in
the side and what do with a family heirloom that takes the form of an ornately carved upright piano.
Bernice wishes to keep the pianobut her brother, Boy Willie, wishes to sell the piano for land
because according to him Bernice is not doing anything but letting it sit there and rot because no
one is playing it. Yet despite what Boy Willie says the piano actually gets quite a bit of use in the
play. Along with playing the piano the characters can also be seen singing in the play. The songs
the characters sing and perform does a good job of relating the characters thoughts and actions to a
more musical medium. From songs such as Maretha s beginners piece on the piano to Wining Boy
s more experienced yet melancholic tune the music of The Piano Lesson tells us about the character
s pasts and presents.
Starting with the song Berta, Berta (which is initially sung by Boy Willie but soon joined in by
Lymon, Wining Boy, and lastly Doaker), the song tells the story of a man working on Parchman
Farm, known formally as the Mississippi State Penitentiary, who tells his sweetheart, Alberta, to
not wait for him and to go ahead and marry. The song itself is a prison work song typically sung
by those imprisoned who worked on Parchman. What this lets us know is a multitude of facts
about the people singing this song. For example the most glaring fact is that they have spent time
or know someone who spent time at Parchman Farm this show the racism faced by the Charles
family and countless other families in early 20th century America. With Boy Willie being the one
to initiate the singing of a song with such a history combined with his desire to purchase Sutter s
land, as seen in various pages, one can infer that he is an ambitious albeit brash man who choses to
take control of the situation the family has found itself in and honor the wishes of his father and
grandfather, Boy Charles and Willie Boy respectively.
Now focusing on two smaller songs you can still get a general grasp on the background of those
associated with them. The

Persuasive Essay On Dolphins
The Interesting Dolphin
Many people know those cute, funny, intelligent animals that are known as dolphins, right?
There are so many interesting things about them. Dolphins have been around for about 15 million
years now. They re extremely intelligent, probably even more intelligent than us humans. Dolphins
are becoming endangered because of humans and many don t know that. They are known as the
oceans most kind animals.Dolphins have originated millions of years ago,are extremely
endangered, and are becoming endangered. The most important thing to know about dolphins would
probably be how they originated because without that those cute aquatic mammals wouldn t even
exist. Dolphins have been around a lot longer than humans. They originated about 50 million years
ago. The most common dolphin, being the bottlenose dolphin, has been around for 15 million
years. Surprisingly, dolphins originated from members of the cetaceans group. Cetaceans used to
be land mammals but evolved into being aquatic mammals. In From Land to Water it stated, The
transition from land to water is documented by a series of intermediate fossils from India and
Pakistan. This research helps prove how they used to be land mammals but evolved to live in the
ocean. Dolphins are one out of many aquatic mammals who need oxygen, but they need water in
order to live. Believe it or not, dolphins are somewhat related to hippos, camels, deer, cattle, and
giraffes. In From Land to Water, Many features that are

Similarities Between United Nations And Congress Of Vienna
United Nations Vs Congress of Vienna The Congress of Vienna wasn t a forerunner to the United
Nations because they are focused on rebuilding Europe and keeping peace in Europe. The United
Nations, on the other hand, was focused on preserving peace among all nations and helping others
out when they are in trouble. Also, the Congress of Vienna tried only to preserve and care about
Europe whereas the United Nationsis keeping peace and stability throughout the world. One thing
both organizations have in common is they were both formed after wars; the Napoleonic Wars and
World War II. The final important reason why the Congress of Vienna shouldn t be looked at as the
forerunner of the U.N. is because the United Nations is based in the United States but the Congress
of Vienna was made in Austria and only was important to European nations.

The Congress of Vienna was held in Vienna, Austria in September 1814, and the purpose was to
restore order, keep the peace, and suppress the ideas of the revolution.

Straight Outta Compton
Straight Outta Compton is a biopic telling the story of rap group NWA. The movie is for
entertainment but also informs the audience of the rise and fall of not only the group itself but the
members. The film is produced by Ice Cube, Dr Dre, and Tomica Wright, wife of Eazy E, so the
portrayal of the characters is not only authentic, but personal and respectful. The themes, music, and
characters make this movie relatable to minorities. Straight Outta Comptonbegins with Eric Wright,
Eazy E, in the trap house collecting money from drugs. Before he could get the money the house
gets raided by the police. Not only did the opening scene of the movie involve drugs, but drug
use, and drug distribution were mentioned and displayed throughout the entire movie. The
producers included this to show how prominent drugs were and still are in the black culture.
Also, just like drugs, sex was mentioned in the opening scene of the movie and is displayed
throughout the movie. Sex has always played a big part of the black culture because its talked
about in songs and its displayed in shows and movies. Straight Outta Compton not only shows sex
but also what can happen after sex. Eazy Es death was a result of HIV, which can be transmitted
through having sex.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The movie shows the members being harassed by officers on more than one occasion just
because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Ice Cube wrote a song called Fuck Da
Police which didn t make things any better. But NWA weren t the only rappers to open up about
their hatred of the law. Even songs today express the same feelings toward police because the
same issues are going on within the black culture. The Rodney King beating was recorded but all
four officers were found not guilty, is similar to Trayvon Martin and Freddie Gray and many other
black males were killed by law enforcement and just like Rodney King their deaths led to

The shoe industry does not seem to be affected by the state of the economy as some of the other
industries and it seems to be able to operate on lean overhead when compared to its competitors.
The store is located in a downtown area where it will be available and easy accessible to the
clientele it is trying to serve. At the present time, it is the only store of its kind within a 10 to 15
mile radius. Johnson s is able to offer shoes made of genuine leather and not pleather, vinyl, or
some of the other synthetic products giving their shoes superlative advantages over other shoes.
Threats
The use of substitutes in the footwear industry is very high because of the large number of
companies and similar products in the industry. There is a great deal of rivalry and the customers
bargaining power is high. If the store experiences a large demand for unusual small or large sizes
not kept in stock and cannot fill these request within a reasonable time frame customers could stop
patronizing the store. If competitors with similar business models locate in the same area this could
pose problems for the shoe store. If Johnson s misjudges the path of current fashion and over stocks
shelves with the wrong products, this could cause problems in moving merchandise.
Contingency Plans
A business contingency plan is a back up plan which will be instituted in case the original plan
should not be successful. The purpose of the plan is to make it possible

Atlantic Transformations
The Earth has undergone a series of physical transformations throughout its history, and every
transformation changes the way things such as water currents, heat circulation, and climate
manifest. Twenty million years ago, the Atlantic and Pacific oceans flowed freely between North
and South America because there was no land barrier between them, which meant that the salinity
of the oceans were similar. This meant that warm water vapor wasn t being carried up to the North
Atlantic, like happens today. When the pacific plate was pushed under the Caribbean plate
volcanoes, islands, and eventually the body of land that connects North and South America formed.
This caused the currents of the Atlantic and Pacific oceans to go towards the north,

Similarities Between The Holocaust And Salem Witch Trials
Comparing Tragedies What do two events that occured hundred of years apart have in common?
Although the Salem Witch Trials and the Holocaust were very different, they were both led by
misguided judgements of what makes people different. They both consisted of many tragedies
such as false accusation, killing innocent people, and lots of death. The Salem Witch Trials
began in 1692 in Salem, Massachusetts (Salem Witch Trials 1). Three girls were accused of
witchcraft, and then proceed to blame the whole town of witchcraft (Salem Witch Trials 1).
Bridget Bishop was the first woman hanged in June (Salem Witch Trials 1). Many people denied
witchcraft in Salem (Salem Witch Trials 1). 40,000 to 60,000 people were executed for being
accused of witchcraft (Salem Witch Trials 2). General Court declared a day of fasting for the
tragedy (Salem Witch Trials 1). Thought the respected Minister Cotton Mather had warned of the
dubious value of spectral evidence, his concerns went largely unheeded during the Salem Witch
Trials, (Salem Witch Trials 1).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Richard Wright s Autobiography Of A Black Boy In The US
A autobiography called Black Boy, by Richard Wright was written seventy five years ago. In his
autobiography, he tackled some of the issues that are currently still happening in the United States.
As a child, when Wright went to school and worked at different jobs, he d seen a much of the racial
discrimination, violence and unemployment along with other forms of racial inequality. Although
racial discrimination, stereotyping and unemployment have decreased in the United States, it is still
an active problem that people of color face. If Wright was alive in 2018, writing a novel about a
black boy in United States, he would write about the racial discrimination, stereotyping and
unemployment the black boy would have to go through. As a kid, he went through the same things
and would understand their frustrations that the black boy has to face in the United States.
The first problem that colored and black people currently still face in the United States of 2018, is
racial discrimination. In the article by Priscilla DeGregory ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In the autobiography Black Boy, Wright was stopped and threatened by a white policeman one
night and told to not deliver packages at night because the white policeman had seen the color of
his skin and automatically assumed he was trouble which proves that the police officer was
racially stereotyping him. He would be mad because despite racial stereotyping decreasing, it is
still present in the United States. This causes him to write about racial stereotyping in his novel
about a black boy living in the United States in 2018 because he can relate to what black and
colored people feel when they re stopped and frisked by the NYPD for wearing clothes commonly
used in a crime and having a suspicious

Why Is Harry Potter Controversial
Daniel Kang
Dr. Rhonda Dubec
English 2907 SDE
21 November 2014
The Debate over J.K. Rowling s Harry Potter Controversy over children s literature is nothing new.
Children are deemed innocent because they have yet to experience the world, and there is a
viewpoint that children should be protected from literature, if it potentially harms their innocence.
Despite the worldwide popularity of the Harry Potter series, its use of witchcraft, wizardry, and
violence has drawn plenty of controversy because some believe that these books are not suitable
for children. In the early 2000s, the topic of witchcraft was a major concern, and it was (and still
is) viewed as a threat to children s literature. The Harry Potter series holds the dubious distinction ...

Is the explicit portrayal of death suitable for children s literature? Is it too frightening for children
to read? Deaths include key characters like Dobby the House Elf, Harry s parents, etc. Critics (ex.
parents) argue that these deaths, as well as many others, are causes for concern because they occur
as a result of violence and evil. These books should not be made appropriate for children, because it
could potentially lead to nightmares and bad thoughts.
Despite all the controversy surrounding the Harry Potter series, I have always admired/will
always admire the books because I feel it promotes important values such as courage, love, and
friendship. Critics make the argument that the Harry Potter books encourage witchcraft to
children, but I do not believe that is the case. I feel that real witchcraft is more extreme and
violent, than what is portrayed in this series. This wonderful work of literature opened my eyes to
the power of imagination, and it allowed me to develop a passion for

The Importance Of A Nurse Since A Home Health Care Giver,...
There are some patients that cannot help their condition that would lead me to repeat myself. If
I do not gain more patience, I feel I would it would be unfair to the patient. I plan to practice by
being more conscious about my feelings when I am on the floor or for instance at work since I
am a home health care giver, working with the elderly. The barriers I will encounter and will
always encounter are challenging patients; it is something that can never disappear. There are also
two personal strengths I obtain that include being organized and I am caring. Organization is

A new graduate not being emotional would mean I could handle death, if I am having a bad day
or even someone being critical of my skills. It takes time to grow and work on oneself, which I
am and will continue to do. It would be good to start a journal or write down the days I became
extremely emotional, reflect on why, and how to change it. I say I am not good at controlling
my facial expressions because I am bad with surprises. I have gotten better with this as well but I
need to be more conscious. The ability to control my expressions would maintain
professionalism and it would also keep my nonverbal communication appropriate. To be able to
control nonverbal cues is a quality important for nurses to also have. I tend to continue to be more
aware of what I am feeling and the faces I am making. I could also learn from other nurses as I
carry on. Lifelong learning is continuous development and improvement of knowledge and skills

colleges/universities. I have had formal learning since pre school till now and it has shaped me

tests, learned from the wrong choices of a test, and have done several projects. All the material I

Shirley Chisholm Speech
Did you know, before Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama there was Shirley Chisholm. Shirley
Chisholm was an African American female congresswoman who ran for the presidency in 1972,
as a Democrat. When she ran for presidency she didn t run for the blacks or for females, she ran
for the people of America. To be a social game changer implies that an individual must be an impact
towards change and inspire others to change. Shirley Chisholmwas an excellent congress person she
had a special insight with words and established herself as an outspoken person was determined for
change early in her 1st term. Her presidential crusade was unexpected historical, and she spoke out
her mind on the equality for the people.

Shirley had her way with words by speeches and speaking out her mind, she wasn t shy to back
off, she spoke for the people because she knew no one else would do it. In the speech Equality
Rights For Women, it says ... There is a calculated system of prejudice that lies unspoken behind
that question, why is it acceptable for women to be secretaries, librarians, and teachers, but totally
unacceptable for them to be managers, administrators, doctors, lawyers, and members of
Congress... It has been observed before, that society for a long time discriminated against another
minority, the blacks on the same basis that they were different and inferior, the happy little
homemaker and the contented old darkey on the plantation were both produced by prejudice... .
Shirley Chisholm This means that she felt `uncomfortable that many people don t accept females
and black to do a certain job. In addition, this also proves that she is forthright when it comes to
her speeches. Another example comes from Listen to a speech from Howard University by
Shirley While nothing is easy for the black man in America, neither is anything impossible. Like

unequivocal equality is attained. We must not be docile, we must not be resigned, nor must we be

  • 2. The Current Policy Rate Of The Central Bank Essay On the other hand, the ZLB is a global phenomenon, The main policy rate of the central bank is currently at zero (or close to zero) in 22 out of 34 OECD countries displays the worldwide struggle of central banks since the global financial crisis (Wiederholt, 2015, 1). At the ZLB central banks must look at unconventional policies, however Japan shows us it remains extremely difficult to stimulate growth and inflation. In 1999 the BOJ introduce Zero Interest Rate policy (ZIRP) when it lowered in the interest rate to virtually zero. The BOJ also incorporated future policy statements indicating the rate would remain lower for longer this is to lower future expected interest rates and thereby boost spending immediately and cause reflation (Williams, 2014, 6). However, expected inflation will only increase if the bank credibly commits to its policy and it is merely not transitional. The BOJ stated ZIRP would remain until until deflationary concerns disappeared which is too vague and does not give private agents enough information, therefore casting doubt on competence of the BOJ (www.boj.or.jp, 1999). Setting an inflation target would help quantify the BOJ objectives. Krugman (1998) argued for the BOJ to credibly promise to be irresponsible and not reverse ZIRP once inflation increases plus set an inflation target higher than desirable. Bernanke (1999) agrees by setting an inflation target of 3 4% would highlight the movement of BOJ away from a deflationary regime. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. A Smiling Buddhist Monk The historical work I have chosen is called A smiling Buddhist Monk , more commonly known as Laughing Buddha . The sculpture is from the Henan province, located in northern China, made in the Ming dynasty, dated AD 1486. The artist of this work is unknown as it is from this era but the sculptor may have been a Buddhist monk. Manually constructed and carved from Stoneware, this Buddha is glazed in the sancai palette, meaning created from a colour scheme based of three colours. The modern work I have chosen is called Our Gods , created by Liu Xiaoxian in 2000, a Chinese Australian born in 1963. His work is an altered and edited photograph compiling of two pieces; Buddha created from 22,500 miniscule figures of Christ, and Christ created from 22,500 figures of Buddha. The contemporary work, Our Gods is based off the historical work Laughing Buddha , as it incorporates the image of the Buddha into its work, symbolising the happiness and foundation of the Buddhist religion.... He bears few items, portraying that he is generous and gives all he has but is still full of joy and happiness. In most cases, Buddha is embellished with large ears and is praised by all who greet him. The word Buddha , refers to the one who is awake . • 5. The Most Influential Thinkers Of The German Enlightenment Era Immanuel Kant was born April 22, 1724 in KГ¶nigsberg. Kant is considered one of the most influential thinkers of the German Enlightenment era. He could easily be labeled one of the greatest and most important Western philosophers of all time. Kant was born the fourth of nine children to Johann and Anna Kant. His father was a harness maker, and the large family lived a rather humble life. The family practiced Pietism, an 18th century branch of the Lutheran Church. As a result of this, Kant s early education was at Saint George s Hospital School and then Collegium Fredericianum, a Pietist school. In 1740, Kant entered at the University of KГ¶nigsberg where he enrolled as a theology student. Six years later, the death of Kant s father left him without income to continue his education and forced him to leave the university. For the next ten years, Kant worked as a private tutor for wealthy families. During this time away from school, Kant published numerous papers dealing with scientific questions surrounding rationalism and empiricism. The most important being General Natural History of Theory of the Heavens, which he published in 1755. In this work, Kant talks about the origin of the solar system and concludes it was a result of gravitational connection of atoms. After his publication and returning to school to receive his doctorate of philosophy, Kant spent the next fifteen years as a lecturer and tutor for the University of KГ¶nigsberg. • 6. Caplan s Crisis Theory Analysis Caplan s crisis theory of the ABC X and Double ABC X models stood out the most. His model offered an understanding of why some families are better able to negotiate their way through transitions and tragedies. While others faced with similar if not identical stresses of family change, may give up or be quickly exhausted (Jackson Cherry Erford, 2014). The concepts of crisis became very meaningful in understanding the essential building block in the structure of human growth and development. As a crisis counselor, the goal is to assist individuals in restoring equilibrium to their biopsychosocial functioning and to minimize the potential for psychological trauma. In addition, children and adults experience crisis in different ways. Therefore, I have connected Erikson s developmental and situations, crisis theory in understanding the social and cultural factors. Learning that when a community is in crisis their cultural perspective, religious values, and beliefs are affected (Corey, 2013). • 8. History of Afghanistan and Pakistan Analysis Historically Afghanistan and Pakistan have had a good relationship. During the 1980s, Afghan refugees used the Durand Line border to flee the soviet takeover of their country. With funds aid from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Pakistan hosted over 3 million Afghans at various refugee camps. In 1999, the United States gave $70 million in assistance to Afghan refugees in Pakistan. Pakistan also became the major training ground for the Mujahideen rebel fighters who fought against the Soviet backed Afghan government and the invading Soviet forces. The Mujahedeen included not only locals but also Arabs and others from over 40 different Islamic nations. A religious extremist group known as the Taliban took control of Afghanistans government after the soviet withdrawal and established friendly relations with neighboring Pakistan. Pakistan used the Taliban to attack Indian interests in Afghanistan, however after the overthrow of the Taliban in late 2001 by the United States and allies, Afghan Pakistani relations became strained. India views Afghanistan as a means of access to Central Asian trade and energy resources, as well as a means of advancing its own broader domestic and regional interest. Central Asia is one of the fastest growing markets in the world; and economic activity in the region has had steady growth , expanding at about 6 percent per year(imf,2014). I always feared the day to tell my parents about my sexuality, and even writing this essay gets me nervous. My parents were both raised catholic, and have very strict views on the world and that includes the idea that heterosexuality is the norm. I didn t start thinking about my sexuality until I was around twelve, and I was dating a girl for two years whom I became close to, but I never shared an attraction towards her. We bonded like best friends, but there was never much of a romantic side to our relationship. I never found this weird I just continued until I began to get harassed by my own soccer team about not having any kind of romantic side to my relationship with the girl. My soccer team became violent, and never let go the fact that I wasn t interacting the way men should be interacting towards a woman. The soccer team then made sure I left the team, and one of my teammates tripped me which caused my leg to twist. Texas lawmakers have in recent years propagated the statewide concept among their constituents here in Texas that open carry under the 2nd amendment has a plausibility toward ameliorating the typology of violence each community has been inundated by. It has brought trepidation into people of walking down a street and getting shot at. The question is? Did the state lawmakers did not cogitate on the consequences of this bill before they determined it to be a safety net, or was it merely an act of provocation of asking for unwarranted trouble by the open carrylaw? This decision is also racially biased, and only continues to foment the unabating praetorian behaviour of police toward minorities along with women. By the harassment of unjustified stops, the iniquitous line of illicit questions is directed toward minorities, and women alike. However without the attitude that predisposes minorities, and women alike to react irrationally when confronted by the law just because they are carrying a weapon. • 13. The Kongolese And Christianity In Kongo For centuries, Africans and their belief systems have been derided. Instead of being studied as valid and meaningful responses to the universal terms of human existence, African religions have often been considered exotic objects... peculiar and incomprehensible or repellent. For many Europeans, Christianitywas by far the superior religion, and they strove to convert Africans. One kingdom where they seemed to enjoy success was Kongo. By 1704, the people living there had been Catholic for six generations nearly two centuries. The Kongolese took great pride in this, believing that it made them superior to their neighbours. Moreover, both the Kongolese and the Church took pride in the fact that Christianity had come to Kongo not through conquest and forced conversion, but through the voluntary conversion of JoГЈo I. Despite this achievement, though, the Church more the Kongolese had to practice Catholicism exactly as the Europeans did. With the coming of Dona Beatriz Kimpa Vita, who claimed to be possessed by Saint Anthony, this conflict would become more apparent than ever before. Though the Capuchins succeeded in having Dona Beatriz burnt at the stake, they failed in their ultimate goal of fully converting the Kongolese to their form of Catholicism. The knowledge of Catholicism displayed by the Kongolese was impressive. The first sense of gender Sandra touches on is androcentrism, which is the idea that men create the standard for society and females do not meet the standard. The most important concept in this reading is the idea that women are naturally given the caregiver role because they bear children. This is important because men are given the responsibility of defending the family and collecting food, because they were bigger and stronger and also because they did not have their mobility limited by the continuous presence of children (Bem, 1993, p. 31). This is will allow the reader of the feature article to further understand why Coppola did the things that he did and therefore allow them to have a better understanding of the film. I will also be exploring the attitudes, values and beliefs that were held in the time period of the original novel and how Coppola developed and presented that to a modern 90 s audience. In many situations religious people are accused of being largely more scandalous without anyone thoroughly looking into the situation, unlike with celebrities or government officials, for whom full investigations are run. • 21. Narcissistic Behavior There are two developments in the Western society that help in the rise of narcissistic behavior. The first is that of the attention it takes for parents to reach that top of financial achievement in Western society. While there are many parents who do a great job raising children, the careers that often can bring such wealth take the parents away from the children and with the wealth and no guidance from parents it is easier for children to develop such a narcissistic disorder. They can be spoiled at times and other times be rejected this flip flop culture can lead to a lack of empathy and a need to feel grandiose within themselves. The second part of the growth narcissism would be the exaltation of celebrities. The range of individuals whom are raised up to an almost godlike level in our society, is a horrifying thing. We have gotten to a level of where we almost worship movie stars, musicians, athletes, and even politicians. But in the last few years even more, with the developments of reality TV it is almost a matter of luck or what kind of creative circumstance you can put yourself in that grants fame and power. His observations abroad resulted in many of the ideas that form the basis for the major statements found in his political works. While in France, Machiavelli observed the effect of having one prince ruling a united country and in 1512 he wrote his most famous treatise The Prince. Remembering how the French benefitted from having one principality ruled by one prince, Machiavelli intended The Prince to serve as a guide to centralize Italy under one principality, as well as how to gain, maintain political power. Most importantly, The Prince suggests how to rule effectively and what kind of prince is best. Dedicated to Lorenzo DiMedici, The Prince provides a blueprint for how to take control of other lands and how to maintain power over them. It is a story about a young high school girl who was raped by the quarterback of her high school s football team one night at a party. This immediate damage of this traumatic event was her ability to speak out about what happened to her that dark night. Including the rock n roll landmark of Laurel Canyon, the modern indie beacon of Echo Park, and the rough and tumble underground punk scene of East L.A., Los Angeleshas birthed hundreds of artists across all genres. I am the writer of The Daily Bruin s Sounds of L.A. column, and the more time I spend interviewing and researching these musicians, the more I wonder if the causal arrow actually points in a different direction. While the history and atmosphere of Los Angeles s various neighborhoods could influence the artists that call the city home, it is more likely that these musicians are affecting the areas they inhabit, creating communities that reflect their collective mindsets. It is the artists who shape these neighborhoods and turn each section of Los Angeles into areas with individual personalities, using their music to communicate en mass the image and culture that they are promoting. Laurel Canyon is known for its historic rock n roll past, a narrative that began in the 1960s when artists like Frank Zappa, Jim Morrison and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young first moved into the Hollywood Hills. A large part of that increase took place in Uruk itself, which became a real urban center surrounded by a set of secondary settlements. The Retirement Plan For Retirement Plans IV.DISCUSSION AND ANALYSIS a.Retirements Benefits Another of the concerns that Louis, Joyce, and Bryan have is they would like a retirement program that will shelter a substantial portion of their income from taxes. • 41. Jazz Workshop And Class Material Essay Jazz Workshop and Class Material The Jazz Workshop, Wednesday night, was conducted by Professor Madsen. There were two other groups that performed before the workshop. Those were two bands were the Rich Armandi Combo, coached by Rich Armandi, and the Funk Combo, coached by Chris Madsen, and the Jazz Workshop, conducted by Professor Madsen, and special guest Victor Garcia. All three groups did an outstanding job. They had many moments that I could hear were very similar to what we have been learning in jazz history. It was interesting to actually hear everything that was being taught in class being exercised in the concert. In this paper I will be talking about the concert as well as the parallels that showed up in the concert that relate back to what our class has been learning. In the first group, the Rich Armandi Combo, did really well over all. When listening to the combo there were many things that stood out. You can hear the basic jazz techniques, the drum keeping time, he never stops or goes off beat. In the second song the combo performed Forest Flower was very well done, the trumpet added to the song. I thought that some of the trumpet playing sounded similar to Miles Davis. This was because the trumpeter was playing in a middle register, but not to low. Just like Davis would play, the trumpet also had great a great sound for the long notes she was playing in the pieces. The third song they performed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Analysis Of The Piano Lesson By August Wilson Hans Christian Anderson one said that where words fail, music speaks. Nowhere is this truer than in The Piano Lesson by August Wilson. The Piano Lesson tells the story of family that struggles in the side and what do with a family heirloom that takes the form of an ornately carved upright piano. Bernice wishes to keep the pianobut her brother, Boy Willie, wishes to sell the piano for land because according to him Bernice is not doing anything but letting it sit there and rot because no one is playing it. Yet despite what Boy Willie says the piano actually gets quite a bit of use in the play. Along with playing the piano the characters can also be seen singing in the play. The songs the characters sing and perform does a good job of relating the characters thoughts and actions to a more musical medium. From songs such as Maretha s beginners piece on the piano to Wining Boy s more experienced yet melancholic tune the music of The Piano Lesson tells us about the character s pasts and presents. Starting with the song Berta, Berta (which is initially sung by Boy Willie but soon joined in by Lymon, Wining Boy, and lastly Doaker), the song tells the story of a man working on Parchman Farm, known formally as the Mississippi State Penitentiary, who tells his sweetheart, Alberta, to not wait for him and to go ahead and marry. The song itself is a prison work song typically sung by those imprisoned who worked on Parchman. What this lets us know is a multitude of facts about the people singing this song. For example the most glaring fact is that they have spent time or know someone who spent time at Parchman Farm this show the racism faced by the Charles family and countless other families in early 20th century America. With Boy Willie being the one to initiate the singing of a song with such a history combined with his desire to purchase Sutter s land, as seen in various pages, one can infer that he is an ambitious albeit brash man who choses to take control of the situation the family has found itself in and honor the wishes of his father and grandfather, Boy Charles and Willie Boy respectively. Now focusing on two smaller songs you can still get a general grasp on the background of those associated with them. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The United Nations, on the other hand, was focused on preserving peace among all nations and helping others out when they are in trouble. Also, the Congress of Vienna tried only to preserve and care about Europe whereas the United Nationsis keeping peace and stability throughout the world. One thing both organizations have in common is they were both formed after wars; the Napoleonic Wars and World War II. The final important reason why the Congress of Vienna shouldn t be looked at as the forerunner of the U.N. is because the United Nations is based in the United States but the Congress of Vienna was made in Austria and only was important to European nations.
