Greenfield Research Paper
Greenfield is a very nice place to grow up and start a family. In 1957 Greenfield Wisconsin
became a city. In 2016, Greenfield is an astonishing place where many families come to live!
Greenfield is a very fun and safe place to live. Greenfield has many city events when the whole
city comes together to create a fun event! Throughout the years Greenfield has grown and became
a fascinating place. Greenfield Wisconsin could ve been named Kinnikinnick but thank goodness
the people of Greenfield, chose Greenfield instead. Did you know? Milwaukee s Summer fest

A couple of reasons of how Greenfield s geography affects people s lives is because of food
choices, temperature, and the way land is used. The food in Greenfield Wisconsin is very unique.
For example, if someone were to go to France and eat there, the food in France would be very
different from the food in Greenfield, Wisconsin. Another reason of how Greenfield s
geography affects people s lives is because of the temperature. In Greenfield Wisconsin, there are
four seasons: summer, fall, winter, and spring. In each season many things throughout the city
change. Example: in summer more plants will grow because of the weather. Also, some grass
will die because of the weather. The third and final reason of how Greenfield s geography affects
people s lives is, by the way, a land is used. In Greenfield, most land is used for buildings such as
schools, gas stations, police fire department, houses, apartments, etc. How does this effect
geography? Well, it affects what people may do in their free time and what their life is like.
(How people work and some things Greenfield has that other city s may not have) Now that we
know some reasons of how Greenfield s geography affects humans, let s move on to Greenfield s

Who Is Responsible For King Lear s Downfall
King Lear, the tragic hero suffers from his tragic flaws and this leads to his downfall and death
by the ending of the play. Lear s tragic flaws are his characteristics that cause him to have a lack
of judgement. Pride is one of Lear s many tragic flaws that causes his downfall. Out of his pride,
and anger, Lear disowns Cordelia and tells her that they are no longer family members, but
strangers. He also says that those who eat their children will be closer to him than her: Lear: [To
Cordelia] The barbarous Scythian, /or he that makes his generation messes /to gorge his appetite,
shall to my bosom /be as well neighbour d, pitied, and reliev d, /as thou my sometime daughter.

After Goneril and
Regan claim their love for their father, and Cordelia does not, Lear disowns her: Lear: [To
Cordelia] [..] Hence, and avoid my sight! [...] (Shakespeare, 1. 1.120 123). Through his speech,
Lear s arrogance takes over his judgement. Lear does not want to see his daughter and he cannot
see that Goneril and Regan are fooling him and that Cordelia is the only daughter that truly
cares for him because she did not profess her love to him. Through this, it is shown that Lear is
blinded and cannot see past his daughter s betrayal . Kent tries to stick up for Cordelia, but Lear
decides to banish him: Kent: See better, Lear; and let me still remain /the true blank of thine eye.
(Shakespeare, 1. 1. 158 159). Kent gives this advice to King Lear because he is trying to make him
realize that he is blind to what matters in the situation at hand. He wants Lear to allow

The Blind Side Essay
There were many characters in this movie that were apart of Michael s life. In the beginning we
saw coach Cotton, he was very judging but he wanted to have Michael play for his team so he
talked the board into letting Michael come to the school. Coach Cotton was very kind for that.
Then we see the family of four, a mom, dad, daughter, and son. The moms name was Leigh.
Leigh was very demanding but she was also very caring and defensive. Sean, the dad wasn t very
much of anything. He kind of just went with his wife wanted to do. Then my favorite, S.J., he
was the closest to Mike, well other than Leigh. S.J. was funny and he was very friendly. He
helped Mike a lot at school and with football. The last one was Collines. Collines was the
daughter. At first I felt that she didn t want anything to do with Michael. She kind of had an
attitude but she was very sweet and she ended up liking Mike. Everyone was very supportive of
Michael. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

came along into his life. That really broke him out of his shell. He was told that he could do better
by his teachers and I really think that helped him. He started getting better grades in his classes.
Then S.J. helped him with his football. Michael saw that these people could help him and he

Las Vegas Strip Today
Las Vegas today is known as the gaming capital and the sin city of the world. Tourism drives the
economy. About 37 million people visit the city and the spending is a high of USD33.7 billion.
At least 20% of the jobs are gaming related. Even though Las Vegas held the gambling monopoly
for 40 years, by 1978, there were over 19 states allowing some form of casino style gambling.
However, Las Vegas continued to outperform the rest of the states. In fact, the Las Vegas Strip s
gaming revenue alone tops the US market. (Refer to Table 1)

Gender Roles In Arthur Conan Doyle s The Sign Of Four
The British Empire in the 19th century was flourishing, and no colony was more important to the
British than India, especially the unsuccessful 1857 Indian rebellion against British rule, which
plays an important if beneath the surface role in Arthur Conan Doyle s mystery novel, The Sign of
Four. It follows Sherlock Holmesand Dr. Watson as they try and solve the mystery of Miss
Morstan s father s disappearance and the mysterious pearls she has been receiving for the past six
years. In Conan Doyle s London, the influence of imperialism and Britain s colonies are visible in
the dГ©cor of the home of Thaddeus Sholto, in the form of artwork, rugs, and tapestries, all referred
to as eastern luxuries . The imperial theme does not stand on its own, however; the Agra Treasure
also influences gender roles and masculinity by affecting the relationship between Watson and Miss
Morstan. In particular, it threatens Watson s masculinity and largely determines whether or not he
can marry Miss Morstan. Arthur Conan Doyles The Sign of Four upholds traditional gender norms
through the love story of the simple governess, Miss Morstan and the insecure Dr. Watson, but at
the same time, he denounces love as an emotion that leads people astray. The looming prospect
of Miss Morstan becoming extremely wealthy clearly weighs on Watson, and he becomes
insecure with his own life and his ability to be able to love this woman. What was I, he asked, an

Guidance Of Pressure Compressions
2.1.3. Guidance for obtaining accurate measurements
In practice, strain measurements are usually below a few millistrain. Therefore, the changes in
resistance need to be measured accurately.
Temperature coefficient of gauge factor is the change of sensitivity of the element to change its
length with change in temperature. A fixed resistance in the input leg can be introduced to
compensate for it. As a result, the effective supplied voltage increases when temperature increases.
This compensates for the decrease in sensitivity.
When more than one strain gauge are used, the temperature coefficient of gauge factor might be
different, there will be a zero shift with temperature. One or more resistors can be placed on the
compensation network ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Secondly, record the imaging parameter and the orientation for each sensor with respect to each
other, so that the position of each object point in the x, y and z axis can be calculated.
Thirdly, calculate the position of each object point in the images by applying a correlation
algorithm with the use of a stochastic intensity pattern on the object surface.
Fourthly, the tracked grey value pattern is the basis of the correlation algorithm. The pattern is
transformed because of the loading applied to the object. The following equations illustrate the
transformation, and the results are calculated using softwares.
Equation 3: Gt(xt, yt)=g0+g1G(xt, yt)
Equation 4: x1=a0+a1x+a2y+a3xy
Equation 5:y1=a4+a5x+a6y+a7xy

Game Theory In Water Resource Management
1. Introduction
Water resources management is involved with various beneficiaries that may have conflicting
interests (Veeren Tol 2003; Wei et al. 2010). Game theory based models have been used in water
resources management to address water conflicts and are recognized as appropriate methods (Wei
et al. 2010). Game theory and its mathematical background were proposed and used in economics
for the first time by Neumann and Morgenstern (1953). Different forms of games have been
suggested by many researchers to address water conflicts alongside other conflict resolution
methods such as Graph Model for Conflict Resolution (GMCR) (Kilgour 1995), Adjusted Winner
(Massoud 2000), and Fuzzy Cognitive Maps (Giordano et al. 2005). Game theory based ... Show

Many studies using game theory based methods have been carried out in water related fields
and, most importantly, in water resources management. Rogers (1969) applied a range of
strategies in the mold of cooperative game theory between India and Pakistan over flood control
issues of lower Ganges and Brahmaputra rivers. Young et al. (1982) compared the separable
costs remaining benefits (SCRB) method with simple proportional allocation schemes such as
Shapley value and Variants of the core, both belong to cooperative games family. Dinar et al.
(1992) used cooperative game theory to question reasonableness and acceptability of cooperation
in the use of irrigation water. Parrachino et al. (2006) published a review of different applications
of cooperative game theory considering various water uses such as multi objective water projects,
irrigation, groundwater, hydropower, urban water supply, sewage disposal and transboundary water
disputes. Raquel et al. (2007) applied game theory to a groundwater conflict in Mexico and tried to
balance benefits from agricultural production with negative environmental impacts among 12
alternative groundwater extraction scenarios. Mahjouri and Ardestani (2011) developed
cooperative and non cooperative models for a large scale water allocation problem

Stereotypes In Chinua Achebe s Things Fall Apart
Maya Wallace

Response 4.0 The novel Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe is a response to the European
depiction of Africans and African culture. Today, prejudice of cultures, or groups of people, is
displayed in the media on a daily basis. There has been efforts in the past several years to integrate
culture and diversity in many classrooms across the nation to generate awareness and acceptance.
By acknowledging the history of people and cultures from the past in literature readers are able to
submerge themselves to several engaging perspectives that trigger reconsideration of stereotypes.
Achebe s novel corrects European formed essentialism and offers readers an Afrocentric
perspective.
The Igbo society has laws in place that govern the people s actions. Murder and acts of violence

Comparison Between Cinderella And In The Land Of Small Dragon
Comparative Analysis Essay Fairy Folk Tales are the most popular types of literature. The tale is
an orally transmitted tradition by generations through the time; some events are changed to fit
reality and society. Folk fairy tales deal with the dualism of the good and the evil. They are
basing on a conflict between the good and the evil forces. The conclusion comes from aspirations
of the human desire to achieve the justices. There are no known authors and sources for ancient
literature. We have many versions of the story; they are credited by many authors later. Each tale

Empathy In The Rattler
When in times of danger, people must often take the actions they see best fit. In The Rattler, the
author depicts a vivid story of a man who has to make a difficult choice while facing a rattlesnake
in the desert. Despite the man seeing a threat in the snake, it is him that becomes a threat to the
other. By using the descriptions of the man, the snake and the specific setting, the author affects the
readerby creating a sense of empathyfor the narrator and sympathy for the snake. With such a
connection, it adds a greater depth to the story for the reader to analyze.
To begin with, the sense of empathy for the man is formed by including his point of view and a
description of his character. One of the first examples of these techniques is when he finds the
snake and states, My first instinct was to let him go his way. From this thought the reader can
tell that the man has no inclination of killing the snake at first and did not see him as any sort of
immediate threat. With the author s decision to write the passage in the first person perspective
of the man it has a crucial impact of skewing details to reflect off of his perceptions, allowing for
a better insight on the character. Another example that helps the readers empathize with the man is
when he reveals his views on a potential killing by mentioning, I have never killed an animal I was
not obliged to kill. Although all that the man says is that he will only kill an animal if necessary, by
choosing to inform the

Ruth Welch Interview
I am currently undecided about my major, but I am thinking of majoring in Biology/Pre Medicine
or nursing, therefore I decided to interview my aunt, Ruth Welch, BSN, RN. The interview took
place over the phone on the afternoon of Saturday, September 5th, since Ruth lives in Maryland. I
choose to interview Ruth about her experience with public speaking in her nursing profession
because I grew up listening to her talk about her different experiences and knew she had held
several positions throughout the years that would require varying levels of public speaking. For the
interview, I asked the questions from the prompts and then formed my own questions to produce
deeper responses and to hear a few of her stories from working as a nurse. Ruth did not have
much public speaking experience until she went to college, since her high school did not offer a

Nazi Party s Ascent To Power
During the period of 1933 to 1945, the treatment of the Jewish people by the Germans changed
and was influenced by the ideals and beliefs had by the Nazi Party in power at the time. This
event in history is named the Holocaust and the changes that occurred during this time will be
accounted for in this report. In the lead up to 1933, the Nazi Party worked to gain the support of
the German people by presenting them with the idea of a perfect Germany. This desirable Germany

From as early as the 11th century, the Jewish race was looked upon as having rebelled against the
true religion of Christianity throughout Christian Europe. This clash of beliefs ultimately led to
outbursts of hatred towards the Jewish people in what became known as violent pogroms.
Pogroms were seen throughout Europe up until as late as the 20th century and anti Semitism
movements were experienced during the Weimar Republic in Germany. Many right wing
organisations blamed the Jewish people for the loss of WW1, claiming that they did not serve
properly at the front line and were instead profiting from the war itself. This hatred grew at the
commencement of the war, when Jewish politician, Matthias Erzberger, who had openly opposed
it in 1917, subsequently signed the Armistice. The Germans saw the signing of the Armistice and
later on the Treaty of Versailles, as an admittance of guilt for the cause of the war and believed that

Analysis Of The Tell Tale Heart By Edgar Allan Poe
Edgar Allan Poe, a prominent poet and writer in the 1800s, is known for his unique narration
style. Through sentence structure and diction Poe creates a sensory reaction in his readers; for
example, in The Tell Tale Heart the readers feel the panic of the narrator as the sentences get
shorter and choppier. Poe s methods of influencing the reader s emotions are not just limited to
these practices. In his stories of mystery and macabre Edgar Allan Poehas developed many unique
characters with definitive traits who navigate their way through the author s intriguing plots and
storylines. These writing methods are applied to Edgar Allan Poe s mystery story, The Murders in
the Rue Morgue, in which the author establishes the story through a peripheral narrator, maintains
the characterization of his protagonist, and utilizes diction unique to each aspect of the story. Poe
s decisions create a mysterious suspense for the reader as the story unfolds. Edgar Allan Poe
makes the conscious decision to narrate The Murders in the Rue Morgue through an outside
narrator rather than from the perspective of his protagonist. This peripheral narration affects the
reader s experience by implanting the feeling of awe that the narrator feels toward protagonist
Auguste Dupin, even at the beginning of the story. Despite being a mystery, the story starts with
neither a murder nor a mystery. Rather, Poe fleshes out the relationship between the narrator and
Dupin as the narrator recounts their summer together. Through first person narration in Part One,
readers witness Dupin s investigative skills for the first time. The narrator, representing the
average person, is shocked by Dupin s intelligence, which allows him to practically read minds.
The narrator then continues to serve as Dupin s admirer throughout the entire story. He prefaces
the case by describing it as a very difficult problem a mystery, to which it was not possible to find
an answer (Poe 46) to establish the difficulty of the task that Dupin decides to undertake. The
narrator then serves as the relayer of evidence to the audience, challenging Dupin s thoughts on the
case. He repeatedly calls out Dupin s name and questions evidence such as the

Analysis Of Local Search Algorithm For STP
From the tree SP we presented in the algorithm that we have obtained via Local Search
Algorithm for STP, we have generated the matrix of cost. This is done by assigning a cost to all
the edges of tree SP and by assigning a cost on n no. of nodes to all the other edges in graph. This
assignment of cost helps in recognizing the cost of the longest possible path between a pair of
nodes in any spanning treeis nв€’1 (i.e. it passes nв€’1 edges) while the cost of the shortest path
between any pair of nodes without using of SPT edges is at least n (i.e. passes one edge).
Consequently, the 802.1d protocol will produce the intended spanning tree SP .

considered = considered + u; end To the obtained spanning tree from above algorithm we add two
types of edges so that we can get a bi connected graph. The bi connected graph has a significance
that if any of the edge becomes down then also the network will be connected via another edge.
This gives us assurance of always up time for a network. This means in case of link failure
alternate link will always be present to ensure the network connectivity.
In this type1 edge connect a leaf with the higher level node while the type 2 edge connect a non
leaf node (not the root) with the no leaf node or lower level node of different branch. For each
tree new n 1 edges are added while the generation of bi connected graph.
To pretend a network in which a switch has many ports, we define a ratio r . This means each
node in the tree is connected to at least r edges. In each test graph, from the generated bi
connected graph, we create three more trees with ratio r15 = n/15, r10 = n/10 and r5 = n/5 (where
n = no. of nodes).

John Steinbeck #8217;s novel, The Grapes of Wrath, is a moving account of the social plight of
Dustbowl farmers and is widely considered an American classic. The novel takes place during
the depression of the 1930s in Oklahoma and all points west to California. Steinbeck uses the
Joad family as a specific example of the general plight of the poor farmers. The Joads are forced
off of their farm in Oklahoma by the banks and drought, and they, like many other families of the
time, head out for the promised land of California. They endure much hardship along the way, and
they finally make it to California only to find that work is scarce and human labor and life are
cheap. Tom Joad, the eldest son in the family, starts the book freshly... Show more content on

Peter Lisca, an extensive critic of Steinbeck #8217;s work, explains #8220; #8230;in is last
meeting with his mother, in which he asserts his spiritual unity with all men, it is evident that he
has moved from material and personal resentment to ethical indignation, from particulars to
principles #8221; (Lisca 98). Tom clearly changes his feelings and life goals from selfish to self
less. The power of unity is emphasized through the main events of the novel when the Joads
leave the government camp and in the strike at the peach fields. The best part of their arduous
and depressing stay in California, is when the Joads get a space in the government camp at
Weedpatch. The government camp governs and polices itself, has clean camp spaces and large
bathrooms with modern conveniences. Here the migrants are free from the malicious deputies,
who continually beat up the migrants and burn down their paper shacks at the edges of different
towns. #8220;When the migrants band together to run the camp at Weedpatch, a camp that is
clean, decent, orderly and without deputy sheriffs from outside, the people are beginning to
move toward a social ideal #8221; (Bowden 199). When the Joads are forced to leave the camp for
lack of work and food, they realize the power of the camp as a group of people as compared to the
dangers outside of the camp that they continually face. When Tom is saying goodbye to

Music, Language, And Characters In The Hobbit
Did you know that in The Hobbit many magical creatures like the goblins, elves, and dwarves
sing songs that reveal many things about them. In this novel music plays a role in the
development of the story and characters. The different creatures songs vary in tone, content, and
structure that reveal many things about the magical creatures. First, after the dwarves or the
unexpected party arrived they sang a song about an adventure that they would ask Bilbo to join
and what it was about. The tone of the song was to persuade and inspire Bilbo to agree to go. For
example the dwarves sand, Far over the Misty Mountainscold. This line was repeated multiple
times in the song and caused Bilbo s Tookish side to want to see the great mountains and go on
an adventure. The poem s content consisted of explaining the reasons to go on the adventure.
They sung, To win our harps and gold from him. This explains that they must return to their
ancestors land to win back the riches that were taken by Smaug. There also was a lot of rhyme
in this song, Tolkien states the dwarves sing Far over the misty mountains cold To dungeons deep
and caverns old We must away ere break of day To seek the pale and enchanted gold. This is a
great example of rhyme the ending sounds of cold, old, and gold sound alike. The tone, content,
and structure signal features about the dwarves. This song showed that the dwarves are very
adventurous and brave. Since they must cross back over the dangerous,

Recommendations:
В·Although the numbers of younger riders are on the rise, Harley must take notice of the marketing
styles that MTV utilizes.
В·The youth of this country are constantly changing, and constant market research must be done to
keep up with what the next ideas of what is cool.
В·Generally older males are the demographic that Harley Davidson aims for, but the research I
found indicates that women and young men are beginning to purchase more cruiser style
motorcycles.
В·Victory makes a great product, (I should know because I sell them) and they are on the rise to be
the top competition to Harley.
В·Harley must get into the minds of the younger and more feminine crowds by surveys or
incentives that appeal to this new demographic.

Tornado Descriptive Essay
It was a hot day here in Jackson. It felt like summer, but it was fall. Usually when it is this type of
climate something is going to happen, for example a tornado. I was outside with my dog, while
the rest of the family was inside watching television. I hear the house door open, and my mother
comes out. Wow, it feels warm out here, said my mother as she was looking at the clouds. I
believed it was going to be a little cold and I came out here with a jacket on. My mother started
walking towards the yard and she said, The clouds are dark grey instead of white, I wonder what s
going to happen.
I have no idea, but that s the same thing I had in mind when I came outside, I responded. We hear
the tornado sirens burst. I asked my mother, Is today Wednesday ?
My mother started looking around her. She said, No, I believe today is Friday.
The house door opens again, and this time it s my sister. She yells out: Come inside!
My mother and I look at each other, while my dog was already running to the house door trying
to get in. We open the door, and get in. Once we are in, I lock the door. The television was on
and set on the news. Everyone had their eyes on the screen. A few minutes later, the doorbell
rings. I walk to the door and see who it is, and it was my aunt. It was a surprise that she had come
to see us, but I figured she wanted to be in a safe and stable place during this time.
Once everyone was in the house I start to close the door slowly, and I see my uncle getting out of
his car with his family. I stand in front of the door, waiting for them to come in. Finally, they come
in and I shut the door and lock it. All you hear in the house are kids playing, adults talking, and my
mother was in the kitchen cooking something up for us to eat.
Tornado warning for the following counties, said the meteorologist. Out of nowhere the rain starts
pouring down with acceleration.
What are we going to do if the lights go out, asked my cousin. We won t be able to eat the delicious
food that my aunt just made for us. Everyone starts to laugh.
We won t be able to charge our cell phones or anything, I said. Back in the day they did not have

Solar Energy. The Form Of Electromagnetic Energy Emitted
Solar ENERGY The form of electromagnetic energy emitted from the sun and generated by means
of a fusion reaction within the sun.
There are little terms regarding the solar energy. A valuable source of terms is the ISO 9488:1999
standard, which gives the solar energy into three languages:
Absorber Component of a solar collector that collects and retains as much of the radiation from the
sun as possible. A heat transfer fluid flows through the absorber or conduits attached to the absorber.
Absorptance: The ratio of absorbed to incident solar radiation to that of incident radiation.
Absorptivity is the property of absorbing radiation, possessed by all materials to varying extents.

The vogue of these system is based on the fact that relatively simple systems are involved and
solar water heating systems are generally viable. This category of solar systems belongs to the
low temperature heat applications. The world s commercial low temperature heat consumption
is estimated to be about 10 EJ per year for hot water production, equivalent to 6 trillion m2 of
collector area . In 2005, about 140 million m2 of solar thermal collector area were in operation
around the world, which is only 2.3% of the potential . A solar water heater is a combination of a
solar collector array, an energy transfer system, and a storage tank. The main part of a solar water
heater is the solar collector array, which absorbs solar radiation and converts it to heat. This heat is
then absorbed by a heat transfer fluid (water, non freezing liquid, or air) that passes through the
collector. This heat can then be stored or used directly. Because it is understood that portions of the
solar energy system are exposed to weather conditions, they must be protected from freezing and
overheating caused by high insolation levels during periods of low energy demand.
Solar photovoltaic (PV): The transmutation of sunlight directly into electricity by using
photovoltaic cells. Photovoltaic systems can be lodge on rooftops, integrated at the top of building
designs and vehicles, or scaled up to megawatt scale power plants.

1.What are the main functions and objectives of the Bank of England?
The Bank of England is the central bank of the United Kingdom. As all the central banks, its main
goal is to guarantee financial and monetary stability. It also acts as a lender of last resort protecting
banks in case they fail.
A key point in having stability is through public confidence in money. One of their missions is to
protect the value of money over time, to assure that people and companies can invest their money
with confidence. To achieve this confidence level the Bank of England has to comply with the
monetary stability objectives.
Monetary stability also means price stability. Price stability refers to inflation. The government

Give a brief description of the three ways to measure the health of an economy. There are three
ways to measure the health of an economy. The first way to measure the health of an economy is
The Gross Domestic Product. GDP is the total dollar amount value of all goods and services
produced in one year. Four categories are looked at by producers on what is being produced
(output) this would be consumer spending, business spending, government spending, and exports of
a country being less than imports. Data is collected and output is measured. The second measure is
going to be Labor productivity this is the measurement of workers. Measuring how hard workers are
producing product would be their productivity. Improvements in equipment, training, and
management will result in greater output. Labor productivity is a measurement of a worker s
performance. Inflation/Deflation a rapid increase in inflation is not a good thing. Individuals,

common traits of this family. The lion s body is very muscular, with less bone mass than other
animals of comparable size. This allows the lion to make powerful blows with its forepaws heavy
enough to break a zebra s back. Each paw has soft pads to make its movements quiet enough to
sneak up on prey. Lions walk on their toes, which means they are digitigrade walkers. The claws on

As human development increases, more wild lion habitats are being destroyed or used for
farming or ranching livestock. When a lion kills/threatens a farmer or a rancher s livelihood, that

to kill the lion to make sure they won t their crops or livestock don t get threatened. Moreover,
conservation groups work with people living in lion territories to educate them about the lion s
ecological importance and develop cheaper ways to protect their subsistence.
In the trophic level, a lion can be classified as second level/tertiary consumer. The lion mainly

My Visit At The College Supper Happy Essay

Once I arrived at my hometown I the first thing I did was go to the hill. It felt like paradise again.
Since I sold all of my expensive gear, all I had was my old board, and my helmet that I had been

officially meet him. After racing down the mountain for a couple of hours I stayed to see the
sunset. What I had missed all these years. The sunset to me was like paradise. As if I had jumped

isolation, of feeling without anything to do, with my life like a void, not having anything, I
finally felt everything. I could feel the emotion in that place. All the memories, all the things I
did. Those were good times, and I will never forget them, but then I came back to reality, and it s
that they will never come back. However I was there for a reason, I needed to complete my
mission and my promise. Then, off into the distance, I saw two people. From the top of my lungs
I shouted. Come on! I think I won this time! I could never forget that white suit of Jexaviers and

In A Day Imagery
An Image Is Worth A Thousand Meanings Sam Shepard once said that, Words are tools of
imagery in motion . In the short story entitled All Summer in a Day which describes the tale of a
young girl missing out on the appearance of the sun (an event occurring every 7 years) due to her
classmates believing that she is different because she is not a native to the planet, Ray Bradbury
utilizes imagery in the story similarly to how it is described by Sam Shepard in the quote. Ray
Bradbury s All Summer In a Day manipulates imagery by choosing contradicting pieces of imagery
linked by their familiarity to children to create a conflict between reactions to what is unknown and
what is known and Bradbury uses the clash to express that the unknown... Show more content on

This is able to convey meaning by creating a contradiction. While the rain is sweet, beautiful, and
crystal, it is simultaneously repetitive and tiresome. The rain connects to the roses Bradbury used
as well because the beauty of the roses disguises the negative aspects of it, similarly the seemingly
beautiful exterior of the rain does not show how its constant fall can be irritating. Here Bradbury
manages to form a connection between the children and the rain through his imagery. The children
have known rain all of their lives, causing them to become closely associated with one another. The
more they experienced rain, the less they liked it. Contrastingly, they did not know Margot very
well but still did not favor her. It is this contradiction between disliking what is known and what is
not known that connects back to the same major conflict appearing throughout the story as to how
one reacts to something that is foreign to them in contrast to if they recognized it

Socrates Definition Of Justice Essay
Justice
What is justice? This is a question that men have struggled with answering for centuries. Justice
should be defined for the sake of all people, especially by rulers who attempt to make fair laws so
that their society functions in an orderly fashion. In Book 1 of The Republic, Plato attempts to
define exactly what justice is. To help determine this definition, he speaks through the philosopher
protagonist of Socrates. Justice is first brought up in The Republic during Socrates trip to Piraeus.
While traveling Socrates ends up gathering with his interlocutors and together, they talk about
justice and how one would define it. Socrates debates with the men about the definition of justice
and is presented with a definition of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Republic presents two very different views of justice as argued by two skilled thinkers. The
beginning of the discussion starts off with Thrasymachus explaining what exactly he believes
justice is; justice is nothing other than the advantage of the stronger. (338c) Although
Thrasymachus definition is clear, Socrates attempts to spite him by using a wild comparison, by
saying If Polydamamas, the pancratiast, is stronger than we are and beef is advantageous for his
body, then this food is also advantageous and just for us who are weaker than he is. (338c) This
statement from Socrates disgusts Thrasymachus because Thrasymachus was simply referring to
stronger in the sense of being a ruler, not strong in the sense of being physically larger. To counter
Socrates, Thrasymachus explains how different societies are ruled throughout the world whether it
be tyrannically, democratically, or otherwise, and how the rulers, those who are strongest, are the
ones who make the laws and they do so to their advantage. Thrasymachus establishes this by saying
how, A democracysets down democratic laws; a tyranny, tyrannic laws; and the others do the
same. (338e) It is clear from this line of reasoning that Thrasymachus has a solid position that
justice is, rightly or wrongly, the enforcement of the rule of law as dictated by the strong leaders
that make the law.
Socrates attempts to disprove Thrasymachus definition of

was at an all time high, bank failures, and foreclosures. People of all races and backgrounds were
struggling to make ends meat throughout America. A major component needed for a successful

At the beginning of the1900s these inequalities were remedied, somewhat by government action.
Legislature to protect workers from unfair labor practices and to regulate private industries were

patriotism induced by the war was manipulated by employers for their own benefit, and enabled
them to undo many of the progressive gains of the time. The events that had occurred late in the

During this decade the flaws underlying in the laissez faire philosophy were exposed by the crash
of 1929 and by escalation of economic recession to an economic depression. Lack of government
intervention and regulation of the private sectors of the economy were the key causes of what has

Pros And Cons Of Indentured Servants
Indentured Servants Lived Better Lives Than Slaves in the 18th Century When the colonies

Dreams In Sandra Cisneros s The House On Mango Street
During the novel, The House on Mango Street, author Sandra Cisneros relives a childhood similar
to hers, where the main purpose of life is having the ability to dream. Most characters that live on
Mango Street, such as Esperanza Cordero, dream of having a better life and deserting their past of
poverty and struggle. Cisneros constantly makes this apparent to the reader because without
struggle and pain, the reward of escaping the neighborhood is not as meaningful. Throughout the
novel, The House on Mango Street, Sandra Cisneros develops the subject of dreaming through
Esperanzas relationships female family members, the symbol of writing, and the motif of houses.
To begin, Cisneros develops Esperanza s relationship with her mother and her friend, Alicia, in
order to promote the fact that leaving a community like Mango Street is possible. These minor

New technologies provide for various positive impacts in the healthcare system. Some of which
include:
1.Dramatic Savings; With an electronic system in place, the medical expenditure of repeated
procedures, methods of information sharing, delays in providing appropriate care on time and

The Gift of Leadership
Introduction
We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man s gift is prophesying, let him
use it in proportion to his faith. If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching let him teach; if it is
encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously;
if it is leadership, let him govern diligently...
Romans 12; 6 8

outcomes that reflect their shared purposes.
The explanation would be, influence is involved in leadership. Leadership is reciprocal, in many
organization the superiors influences their subordinates but in some organization subordinates
influences their superiors. Leadership involves creating change and the changes are towards the
outcome which the leaders and followers both want. An important aspect would be influencing

Huns And Romans Relationship
Knowing about the relationship between the Romans and the Huns is extremely important. The
Romans wrote everything known about the Huns. The Huns didn t write any of their history. Thus
making it important to look and see if the relationships between the Eastern and Western roman
empires and the Huns were good or bad. By learning about the relationships between the Romans
and the Huns, historians would be able to analyze the text written and come up with a more
accurate story of what may have happened. Treaties between the Romans and the Huns rarely
lasted. In 439 the Romans made a deal with the Huns. The Romans had to return all Hun refugees
and no longer offer assistance to those who crossed the Danube. The Romans could not enter into an

Over-Sexization And Over-Sexualization Of Women In The Media
Advertisements in today s society have become increasingly bold, daring and shocking, but that
is one thing that has always stayed the same. The goal of an ad is to catch your eye using
whatever marketing strategy worked at the time, now every ad is laced with sex appeal and porn
like images of men and women, a great majority of the time it is women being put in these greatly
sexual ads, they are placed in contorted poses, with little to no clothes, displaying a product, in
certain ads men are also placed with the women but all too often they are in power positions. These
ads are printed, posted, and shared all over the place, buses, buildings, malls, the internet, etc., but
Due to how women are portrayed in mass media advertisements, over sexualization has become
widely accepted and normalized, this has created harmful standards/stereotypes for women, teens,
and young girls.
The advertisement pictured above was put out by a company called American Apparel, they
have been around for several years, producing clothes for teenage girls and young women. The
ad is two photos layered on one another with the text, New freedom for the student body. As well
as their company name, website info and where the clothing is made. Now, for clarity, we will
call the smaller image in the middle, image one and the background image, image two. To begin,
image one is a polaroid looking photo of a younger looking, white female with brown hair, she is

one thousand A.D. The Apalachee were concentrated around the present day city of Tallahassee, the
capital of Florida. In this essay, the diet, traditions, family life, clothing, government, architecture
and more about the ApalacheeIndians will be explored. A precis of their timeline in the Florida
panhandle will also be examined.
The Apalachee had a diet made up of the things that they grew in their fields, hunted, and gathered.
Women were the gatherers and men were the hunters. The men hunted many animals in the area
including fish, deer, birds, and bears. Women gathered fruits and nuts for their families. As for

His expedition landed off the coast of North West Florida, in what is today Destin. However, this
was not a wanted encounter. One man from the expedition, Alvar NГ№Г±ez Cabeza de Vaca,
wrote that once the men got in sight of Apalachen, [...] The men were not there at the time, but
soon, while we were walking about, they came and began to fight, shooting arrows at us. The
Apalachee warriors dominated Narvaez s men. Only four men from Narvaez s expedition
survived. Later, well known Spanish explorer, Hernando de Soto actually found the remnants of
Narvaez s camp. His expedition was also under continuous attack by the Apalachee. Both de Soto
and Narvaez s expeditions spread many unfamiliar European diseases to the Apalachee, which
actually killed some of them.
In 1656, Mission San Luis was established in modern day Tallahassee, after the Apalachee
requested friars, and in favor, they sent supplies to the Spanish defense center of St. Augustine. This
mission was used by the Spanish Friars to convert the Apalachee into

Literary Devices In Girls Like Girls
In Hayley Kiyoko s song, Girls Like Girls, she uses several literary devices to make her main
message clear. That message is that people in LGBT relationships are normal, and that it isn t a
phase. This song is meant to appeal to people who are in the LGBT community who feel that
their identity isn t real. This theme is expressed through several metaphors, similes, and many
other literary devices. When Kiyoko wrote Stealing kisses from your missus does it make you
freak out? Got you fussing, got you worried. Scared to let your guard down, she was talking
about how a man is threatened is afraid to lose his girlfriend to her lesbian friend. She continues

The San Diego Trolley Dances
The San Diego Trolley Dances took place on October 3rd 2015. An assortment of dance pieces all
come together to furnish the city with dance in non traditional and often unexpected settings. A
program that has been established for fourteen years, the annual Trolley Dances traveled from
downtown San Diego to Balboa Park. However modern or classical the pieces may in Trolley
Dances appear to be, the combination of observation and research can provide a different
perspective. Africanist Aesthetics are principles in the qualities of African dance, as well as other
African art forms. The aesthetic of the cool is one of five Africanist Aesthetics. It embraces the
principle of a contrast between bodily movements and facial presentation and expression. This
aesthetic also has a large component of visual values; dancers are confident of their performance
and offer themselves as such. Three moments within the collection of pieces presented in Trolley
Dances excellently embody the Africanist Aesthetic of the aesthetic of the cool, in the penumbras
of potential danger, physical strain, and unexpected collisions.
A black submerged fountain floor was sprinkled with dancers at the Waterfront Park in San Diego.
The dark color scheme was contrasted by the ten dancers wearing black shirts and amethyst
colored galaxy print pants. With the absence of music, Stephan Koplowitz s dancers of the piece
Play(as) , gradually progressed across the first segment of the reflecting pool. After

Euthanasia Vs Physician Assisted Suicide
Euthanasia and physician assisted suicide can often get confused with one another and although
both are 2 different practices, they share the same end goal; a peaceful death. Today, only a few
countries in the entire world have legalized the practice of euthanasia, showing just how
controversial the topic has become in recent years. Should someone be able to die just because
they feel like it or should valid reasons be required? And who gets to decide whether an assisted
suicide is allowed or not? The answers to questions like these are never simple but to guarantee the
freedoms of liberty that were given to many in the form of government constitutions, all these
questions and more must be answered. Although life on Earth is a gift that was... Show more content

Adults have been alive for a substantial time longer than the children around them. With this age
comes maturity, the ability to make their own decisions, and having been able to experience life
much more than a sick child likely has. Being diagnosed with a terminal illness then, if not
devastating enough, raises the bar even higher, since one will be painfully aware of how the life
they once knew will be taken from them slowly each day. Eventually, there may be nothing to
look forward to as this disease robs them of who they once were. It is unjust to allow these adults
to become nostalgics of their past life as they suffer through their new one, therefore assisted
suicide should be offered to the patients with terminal and incurable illnesses who are 16 and
older. David Swanton, an author who advocates the right to be able to die with dignity quotes a
man who recently went to battle over his right to euthanasia, he states, Over himself, over his
own body and mind, the individual is sovereign . To deny a person the right to live his or her life
as he or she wishes implies that each individual does not know what is right for himself or herself.
And sadly enough, eventually some patients will lose this ability, but what becomes of them then?
Do they lounge around and become human vegetables that a family will need to take care of with
not only basic needs but also hospital bills? Is the ability the patient

Lear s tragic flaws are his characteristics that cause him to have a lack of judgement. Pride is one of Lear s many tragic flaws that causes his downfall. Out of his pride, and anger, Lear disowns Cordelia and tells her that they are no longer family members, but strangers. He also says that those who eat their children will be closer to him than her: Lear: [To Cordelia] The barbarous Scythian, /or he that makes his generation messes /to gorge his appetite, shall to my bosom /be as well neighbour d, pitied, and reliev d, /as thou my sometime daughter. Through his speech, Lear s arrogance takes over his judgement. Lear does not want to see his daughter and he cannot see that Goneril and Regan are fooling him and that Cordelia is the only daughter that truly cares for him because she did not profess her love to him. Through this, it is shown that Lear is blinded and cannot see past his daughter s betrayal . Kent tries to stick up for Cordelia, but Lear decides to banish him: Kent: See better, Lear; and let me still remain /the true blank of thine eye. (Shakespeare, 1. 1. 158 159). Kent gives this advice to King Lear because he is trying to make him realize that he is blind to what matters in the situation at hand. He wants Lear to allow Hall 4 him to stay because he knows that Lear is not thinking straight, and he needs someone who can see to advise him. Therefore, Lear is blind to Cordelia s love because she did not tell him how much she loved him. Lear s favouritism for Cordelia leads to his disappointment and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the beginning we saw coach Cotton, he was very judging but he wanted to have Michael play for his team so he talked the board into letting Michael come to the school. Coach Cotton was very kind for that. Then we see the family of four, a mom, dad, daughter, and son. The moms name was Leigh. Leigh was very demanding but she was also very caring and defensive. Sean, the dad wasn t very much of anything. He kind of just went with his wife wanted to do. Then my favorite, S.J., he was the closest to Mike, well other than Leigh. S.J. was funny and he was very friendly. He helped Mike a lot at school and with football. The last one was Collines. Collines was the daughter. Gender Roles In Arthur Conan Doyle s The Sign Of Four The British Empire in the 19th century was flourishing, and no colony was more important to the British than India, especially the unsuccessful 1857 Indian rebellion against British rule, which plays an important if beneath the surface role in Arthur Conan Doyle s mystery novel, The Sign of Four. It follows Sherlock Holmesand Dr. Watson as they try and solve the mystery of Miss Morstan s father s disappearance and the mysterious pearls she has been receiving for the past six years. In Conan Doyle s London, the influence of imperialism and Britain s colonies are visible in the dГ©cor of the home of Thaddeus Sholto, in the form of artwork, rugs, and tapestries, all referred to as eastern luxuries . The imperial theme does not stand on its own, however; the Agra Treasure also influences gender roles and masculinity by affecting the relationship between Watson and Miss Morstan. In particular, it threatens Watson s masculinity and largely determines whether or not he can marry Miss Morstan. Arthur Conan Doyles The Sign of Four upholds traditional gender norms through the love story of the simple governess, Miss Morstan and the insecure Dr. Watson, but at the same time, he denounces love as an emotion that leads people astray. The looming prospect of Miss Morstan becoming extremely wealthy clearly weighs on Watson, and he becomes insecure with his own life and his ability to be able to love this woman. • 8. Guidance Of Pressure Compressions 2.1.3. Guidance for obtaining accurate measurements In practice, strain measurements are usually below a few millistrain. Therefore, the changes in resistance need to be measured accurately. Temperature coefficient of gauge factor is the change of sensitivity of the element to change its length with change in temperature. A fixed resistance in the input leg can be introduced to compensate for it. As a result, the effective supplied voltage increases when temperature increases. This compensates for the decrease in sensitivity. When more than one strain gauge are used, the temperature coefficient of gauge factor might be different, there will be a zero shift with temperature. Introduction Water resources management is involved with various beneficiaries that may have conflicting interests (Veeren Tol 2003; Wei et al. 2010). Game theory based models have been used in water resources management to address water conflicts and are recognized as appropriate methods (Wei et al. 2010). Game theory and its mathematical background were proposed and used in economics for the first time by Neumann and Morgenstern (1953). Different forms of games have been suggested by many researchers to address water conflicts alongside other conflict resolution methods such as Graph Model for Conflict Resolution (GMCR) (Kilgour 1995), Adjusted Winner (Massoud 2000), and Fuzzy Cognitive Maps (Giordano et al. 2005). Stereotypes In Chinua Achebe s Things Fall Apart Maya Wallace Professor Washburn English 160A 10 March, 2016 Response 4.0 The novel Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe is a response to the European depiction of Africans and African culture. Today, prejudice of cultures, or groups of people, is displayed in the media on a daily basis. There has been efforts in the past several years to integrate culture and diversity in many classrooms across the nation to generate awareness and acceptance. By acknowledging the history of people and cultures from the past in literature readers are able to submerge themselves to several engaging perspectives that trigger reconsideration of stereotypes. Achebe s novel corrects European formed essentialism and offers readers an Afrocentric perspective. The Igbo society has laws in place that govern the people s actions. • 15. Empathy In The Rattler When in times of danger, people must often take the actions they see best fit. In The Rattler, the author depicts a vivid story of a man who has to make a difficult choice while facing a rattlesnake in the desert. Despite the man seeing a threat in the snake, it is him that becomes a threat to the other. By using the descriptions of the man, the snake and the specific setting, the author affects the readerby creating a sense of empathyfor the narrator and sympathy for the snake. With such a connection, it adds a greater depth to the story for the reader to analyze. To begin with, the sense of empathy for the man is formed by including his point of view and a description of his character. One of the first examples of these techniques is when he finds the snake and states, My first instinct was to let him go his way. From this thought the reader can tell that the man has no inclination of killing the snake at first and did not see him as any sort of immediate threat. With the author s decision to write the passage in the first person perspective of the man it has a crucial impact of skewing details to reflect off of his perceptions, allowing for a better insight on the character. Another example that helps the readers empathize with the man is when he reveals his views on a potential killing by mentioning, I have never killed an animal I was not obliged to kill. Although all that the man says is that he will only kill an animal if necessary, by choosing to inform the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. Nazi Party s Ascent To Power During the period of 1933 to 1945, the treatment of the Jewish people by the Germans changed and was influenced by the ideals and beliefs had by the Nazi Party in power at the time. This event in history is named the Holocaust and the changes that occurred during this time will be accounted for in this report. In the lead up to 1933, the Nazi Party worked to gain the support of the German people by presenting them with the idea of a perfect Germany. This desirable Germany would be traditional, hard working and abolish the Republican system of government for which they believed was the source of all hardships experienced in Germany after the commencement of WW1. From as early as the 11th century, the Jewish race was looked upon as having rebelled against the true religion of Christianity throughout Christian Europe. This clash of beliefs ultimately led to outbursts of hatred towards the Jewish people in what became known as violent pogroms. Pogroms were seen throughout Europe up until as late as the 20th century and anti Semitism movements were experienced during the Weimar Republic in Germany. Many right wing organisations blamed the Jewish people for the loss of WW1, claiming that they did not serve properly at the front line and were instead profiting from the war itself. This hatred grew at the commencement of the war, when Jewish politician, Matthias Erzberger, who had openly opposed it in 1917, subsequently signed the Armistice. The Germans saw the signing of the Armistice and later on the Treaty of Versailles, as an admittance of guilt for the cause of the war and believed that they were now seen as weak and cowardly among other ... • 18. Analysis Of The Tell Tale Heart By Edgar Allan Poe Edgar Allan Poe, a prominent poet and writer in the 1800s, is known for his unique narration style. Through sentence structure and diction Poe creates a sensory reaction in his readers; for example, in The Tell Tale Heart the readers feel the panic of the narrator as the sentences get shorter and choppier. Poe s methods of influencing the reader s emotions are not just limited to these practices. In his stories of mystery and macabre Edgar Allan Poehas developed many unique characters with definitive traits who navigate their way through the author s intriguing plots and storylines. These writing methods are applied to Edgar Allan Poe s mystery story, The Murders in the Rue Morgue, in which the author establishes the story through a peripheral narrator, maintains the characterization of his protagonist, and utilizes diction unique to each aspect of the story. Poe s decisions create a mysterious suspense for the reader as the story unfolds. Edgar Allan Poe makes the conscious decision to narrate The Murders in the Rue Morgue through an outside narrator rather than from the perspective of his protagonist. This peripheral narration affects the reader s experience by implanting the feeling of awe that the narrator feels toward protagonist Auguste Dupin, even at the beginning of the story. Despite being a mystery, the story starts with neither a murder nor a mystery. Rather, Poe fleshes out the relationship between the narrator and Dupin as the narrator recounts their summer together. Through first person narration in Part One, readers witness Dupin s investigative skills for the first time. The narrator, representing the average person, is shocked by Dupin s intelligence, which allows him to practically read minds. The narrator then continues to serve as Dupin s admirer throughout the entire story. He prefaces the case by describing it as a very difficult problem a mystery, to which it was not possible to find an answer (Poe 46) to establish the difficulty of the task that Dupin decides to undertake. The narrator then serves as the relayer of evidence to the audience, challenging Dupin s thoughts on the case. He repeatedly calls out Dupin s name and questions evidence such as the ... This is done by assigning a cost to all the edges of tree SP and by assigning a cost on n no. of nodes to all the other edges in graph. This assignment of cost helps in recognizing the cost of the longest possible path between a pair of nodes in any spanning treeis nв€’1 (i.e. it passes nв€’1 edges) while the cost of the shortest path between any pair of nodes without using of SPT edges is at least n (i.e. passes one edge). My mother and I look at each other, while my dog was already running to the house door trying to get in. We open the door, and get in. Once we are in, I lock the door. The television was on and set on the news. Everyone had their eyes on the screen. A few minutes later, the doorbell rings. I walk to the door and see who it is, and it was my aunt. It was a surprise that she had come to see us, but I figured she wanted to be in a safe and stable place during this time. Once everyone was in the house I start to close the door slowly, and I see my uncle getting out of his car with his family. I stand in front of the door, waiting for them to come in. The Republic presents two very different views of justice as argued by two skilled thinkers. The beginning of the discussion starts off with Thrasymachus explaining what exactly he believes justice is; justice is nothing other than the advantage of the stronger. (338c) This statement from Socrates disgusts Thrasymachus because Thrasymachus was simply referring to stronger in the sense of being a ruler, not strong in the sense of being physically larger. To counter Socrates, Thrasymachus explains how different societies are ruled throughout the world whether it be tyrannically, democratically, or otherwise, and how the rulers, those who are strongest, are the ones who make the laws and they do so to their advantage. Thrasymachus establishes this by saying how, A democracysets down democratic laws; a tyranny, tyrannic laws; and the others do the same. It is unjust to allow these adults to become nostalgics of their past life as they suffer through their new one, therefore assisted suicide should be offered to the patients with terminal and incurable illnesses who are 16 and older. David Swanton, an author who advocates the right to be able to die with dignity quotes a man who recently went to battle over his right to euthanasia, he states, Over himself, over his own body and mind, the individual is sovereign .
