Paul Laurence Dunbar writes this short story. The Ingrate has three main characters, Mr. and Mrs.
Leckler, white farmers who owns a large plantation in the South, and Josh Leckler, their slave. In this
story, Josh envisioned slavery as a deep night. He is determined to go to Canada called the land of
freedom, to escape slavery. Josh would dream about the forbidden vision of freedom. After he awaken
from his dream, he heard a voice (metaphor) out of the woods and whispered to him Courage! and on
that night the shadows beckoned him as the white hills had done, and the forest called to him, Follow.
Mr. and Mrs Leckler are clueless about Josh plan to escape from their plantation and Mrs. Leckler,
teach Josh the three R s (reading, writing. rithmetic), by her husband s request. Mr. Leckler being the
slave master is breaking the law by allowing Josh to be educated. Although, Mr. Leckler breaks the
law to teach Josh, to read, he still use language such as teaching a nigger to cipher!
Mr. Leckler considers himself a noble man and justifies his action to teach Josh to read by saying that
he taught his slave to read because he is a generous man and did not want Josh to be cheated while
conducting his business. Although, he has been cheating Josh out of his wages, he justifies himself by
having his wife teach Josh how to read, write, and count money.
Josh was the plantation plasterer for Mr. Leckler working on the walls and ceilings of the plantation.

Melting Pot India has a proud rich history, stretching back thousands of years. The name India
originates from the Old Persian word Hindu. It is located on the southern subcontinent of Asia. India
shares borders with Pakistan, China, Nepal, and Bangladesh. India has not always been on the greatest
terms with some of the neighboring countries which have led to four different armed conflicts. It has a
population of approximately 1.34 billion people. One third of the land mass that makes up India is
coastline. 1858 would mark both a political and economic unification of the subcontinent by the
British. The Indo Pakistan war of 1947 would mark the first of four armed conflict that India would
engage Pakistan in. By the end of the Indo Pakistan war of 1999 both of the neighboring countries,
would continue to have other border skirmishes all the way up to present time. Overall since 2003
India and Pakistan s military have been at an agreed ceasefire agreement. India s military is credited as
have the fourth largest army in the world. The Indian military has been working for many years now
to modernize its military equipment to the modern standards of that of other militaries around the
world. Even though numbers for the Indian army have been on the rise based off the modernization
plan set by its government. The reason for the slow due to the lack of adequate funding. One of the

Ludwig van Beethoven was a German pianist and composer who is widely considered to be the
greatest of all time,whose compositions consisted combinations of vocals and a vast amount of
instruments. Beethoven was born in Bonn,Germany in 1770. He was a crucial figure in the world of
music connecting the Classical and Romantic ages of Western Music. The life of Beethoven was full
of struggle especially because of his deafness,and most of his important works were composed during

13th March, 2014 In the poem Mirrors , by Sylvia Plath the speaker accentuates the importance of
looks as an aging woman brawls with her inner and outward appearance. Employing an instance of
self refection, the speaker shifts to a lake and describes the discrepancies between inevitable old age
and zealous youth. By means of sight and personification, shifts and metaphors, the orator initiates the
change in appearance which relies on an individual s decision to embrace and reject it. The author

According to Tomei, Sylvia Plath is subject to depression just like her father (1213). Possibly
hereditary, she detaches herself from everyone due to her immense discomfort and displeasure.
Moreover, she imprints her feelings and memories in her poems as witnessed in the poem Mirrors .

Because children of divorce are under a lot of stress and tend to worry about a lot of different things,
they can and some do develop mental health issues that can stick with them through their entire
lifetime. Anxiety is often found in children that are going a divorce. However, child with an anxiety
disorder might always think of the negative side of a situation, or may have dreadful experiences even
in pleasant circumstances. It is important to know that in all cases of anxiety a child will worry too
much about things it is when it becomes a long term problem that it may be a disorder or mental
health issue.
Another mental health problem a child can develop is depression. A child with depression may be sad
