Security Assessment and Recommendation
Running head: POTENTIAL WEAKNESSES Security Assessment and Recommendations Security
Assessment and Recommendations I have been charged with the task of identifying potential
security weaknesses and recommending solutions for Quality Web Design (QWD). The project
was completed in two phases. The first phase of the project specifically identified and defined two
potential security weaknesses: software and policy. The second phase recommends solutions to
these potential weaknesses. I chose a scenario that outlines specifics of the organization s type of
business, business processes, assets, services, and security controls. It is crucial for any

An attack to these mission critical processes can mean a decrease in the organization s revenue;
client s personal information being accessed, modified, or even deleted; and even degraded
network performance. QWD would lose significant clientele and would not be as appealing to
their target audience not so good for their mission of providing top quality services. Policy
Reducing the exposure of the corporate network from outside attacks is crucial in protecting
mission critical processes for QWD. The security assessment doesn t end with software firewalls
for their remote users. The company s security policy must also address this vulnerability. QWD
has policy in place that speaks to who has access to data and the type of data; username standards;
password length, complexity, rotation, and history; and security training. However, their policy
doesn t address remote access devices: installation and configuration of firewall and anti virus
software on all employees remote computers and acceptable use. These are critical in preventing
remote computers and mobile devices from compromising the corporate network (Ruskwig, 2006,
pp. 1). Without such a policy in place, there is no guideline for securing QWD s assets. Any remote
employee that has Internet connection that is always on runs the risk of infection or even allowing

Exile And Pain In Three Elegiac Poems Essay
There is a great similarity between the three elegiac poems, The Wanderer, The Wife of Lament,
and The Seafarer. This similarity is the theme of exile. Exile means separation, or banishment from
ones native country, region, or home. During the Anglo Saxon period, exile caused a great amount
of pain and grief. The theme is shown to have put great sadness into literature of this time period.
The majority of the world s literature from the past contains the theme of exile. The Wife of Lament
is another perfect example of literature with exile, and was written by an unknown author.
The most striking example of exile in this poem can be seen in the passage when she says, quot;A
song I sing of sorrow unceasing, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The author continually describes how incredibly miserable he is living his life in exile, how
awful it is to have to live without the guidance from a higher rank being a lord and king in this
case, how there is no one to talk to and to share ones feelings with, and how there is no money or
riches of any kind‚ for a man who is living in exile.
For the most part, the poem is sad and depressing and the reader easily sees what this man is
going through and how terrible it must be for him to live without all the things many others take
for granted everyday of their lives. The author of this poem, who has obviously been exiled,
does an exquisite job of showing, maybe even teaching, to the reader how important the things
are that you lose in life when exiled, no matter how rich or poor you are. You take the greatest
loss of all when you are exiled, you take the loss of losing everything that makes it seem
purposeful for you to live out the day you just began. This is obviously the idea the author is
trying to get across in this poem. Throughout the poem The Seafarer, also composed by an
unknown author, it is obvious that the man is not exiled directly in the ways people have been
exiled in the other poems, however being stuck on a ship is in many ways quite similar to being
exiled from your homeland. Numerous passages in this poem show this mans painful life at sea.
The one that stands out most greatly to me is this passage;

Object Relations Theory Is A Psychodynamic Theory
Object Relations Theory Object relations theory is a psychodynamic theory that observes our
capability to form long lasting attachments, and is based on our early experiences of disconnection
from and connections with out primary caregivers. We internalize our initial relationship examples,
which means that our first relationships make lasting impressions on us, determining how we
approach future relationships. Also, object relations theorystudies how people form various
attitudes towards others and how those attitudes affect their view of themselves as well as social
relationships. There is a central notion of object relation s theory, which is that all people naturally
search for relationships with others, what this theory looks at is how well an individual can form
the interpersonal relationship and what, if any, deficiencies in social functioning may have
occurred. For social workers, this theory is helpful in seeing an individual in the framework of the
relationship rather than an individual being. According to object relations theory, the ultimate
situation is to be raised by caregivers who in turn help us to progressively and appropriately move
away from their physical and emotional direct care while they continue to convey their availability
for support (Hutchison, 2013). These early associations are a major determinant of our personalities
and the quality of our interpersonal performance (Hutchison, 2013; Dorfman, Meyer, Morgan,
1998). Essentially, an

John Brown Martyr Essay
John Brown was many things when he was alive, an abolitionist, a father and a husband. Most of
all he was a martyr; a vigilante someone who acts outside the law. Brown acted outside the law for
a cause that he strongly believed in. He is a martyr by opinion and definition.
The abolitionist movement used to be miniscule compared to the pro slavery stance. John Brown
was one of a handful of white people who were anti slavery. It was a cause he was willing to die
for. A cause he had an enormous amount of passion for. Brown in 1855 had assisted in the
escape of several slaves. An act that was selfless. He during the time had a sizeable amount of
lawsuits against him, all of which relating to his employment in the wool industry. The lawsuits
are of relevance when portraying Brown as a martyr; even though he had all these problems in his
present he still fought for what he believed in. He later appointed himself captain of the anti
slavery forces on Osawatomie Creek. Brown s position of captain suggests leadership qualities he

Derek Jeter Shortstop Essay
The debate about who the best shortstop of all time is, is very controversial but I can put an end
to many discussions. There are two main shortstops who are being argued over. Cal Ripken Jr.
and Derek Jeter. These two players are both great ball players but only one can take the title of
being the Greatest Of All Time. Derek Jeteris the best shortstop of all time for many reasons
because he was great at fielding, hitting, and he still is a great person because of what he s doing in
retirement.
Derek Jeter s fielding performance was among the best in the history of baseball. Jeter played for
20 years and was a lifelong shortstop for the Yankees. He had a career fielding percent of .976
which means that for every 1000 balls he was hit, he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He had 3465 hits in his career. This ranks him 6th of all time in the hits category. He has the most
hits out of all the shortstops to ever play in the MLB. Also, he hit a home run as his 3000th hit
and he was only the second person ever to reach this feat. He joined Wade Boggs in this club later
followed by a teammate Alex Rodriguez. (baseball reference.com) Derek s batting average was
.310. So, for every 10 times he has an at bat, he gets 3 hits. This is very hard to do because of the
fact that the pitchers are throwing high 80s low 90s. Finally, his OBP, on base percentage, was a
staggering .377! An on base percentage of .325 is a good OBP, and Jeter s was higher than that.
These stats show how great Jeter was while at the plate.
Jeter retired in 2014 and he is helping others through his retirement. He and his sister Sharlee
started the Turn 2 Foundation. This foundation helps kids turn away from a life of drugs and
gangs, and turn towards a life of healthy eating and healthy lifestyle. (page six) This encourages
others to help people turn away and say NO! to drugs. This proves that Jeter isn t wasting his time
during retirement and proves that he cares about people who need help and people who

A Reflection On The s The Vision Of Happiness
It s been said that If the immediate and direct purpose of our life is not suffering then our existence
is the most ill adapted to its purpose in the world . Obviously, that person was not Aristotle (unless
the entirety of Nichomachean Ethics utilizes a tone of obfuscated sarcasm typically reserved for
internet forums or pretentious asides) as he posits happiness as the ultimate human end, and
contemplation the best way of achieving it. However, both the vision of happiness he puts forth, as
well as the means for achieving it, differ widely from the typical semantics held throughout
antiquity and modernity by the listless majority. Although rather than simply explain his thought, I
intend to demonstrate how one comes to such conclusions, and so we must return to the initial
Germanic dissension. Initially, it seems difficult to argue with such an assertion. Within humanity
alone, there exists a constancy of suffering, which resonates with greater magnitude and frequency
then any other state of being. As all else decays, human suffering endures with adamant universality,
gleaming with such brightness that it outshines all other potential ends (apart from, perhaps, the
biological imperatives of preservation and procreation). Yet suffering as an end in itself seems so
morbidly facetious that it is overlooked by the willfully ignorant and the optimistically rational
alike (and since I am a meritocratic elitist, we might as well focus exclusively on the arguments

The Magnificent Seven And Seven Samurai
When recreating a classic film, especially when it is through a different cultural lense, it is
inevitable that the original plot, characters, and overall feeling of the movie will be skewed. Our
cultural identities and social norms are so ingrained into us that they are bound to be reflected in
our art. The film conversion from the Japanese made Seven Samuraito the American remake, The
Magnificent Seven, is a poignant example of this. Despite having almost identical plot lines, the
films emanate contrasting feelings and to a certain extent, portray different messages. When
examining the role of American culture in film, one often looks to the quintessential romance or
action plots, stories in which true love conquers all or an underdog overcomes adversity to defeat a
villain. As demonstrated by these iconic storylines and The Magnificent Seven film, American
culture places a strong value on individualism and the idealistic approach to life, which similar to
the American dream, tells us that hard work will always be rewarded. On the other hand, Seven
Samurais greatly emphasizes family, unity, and the consequences of our actions, demonstrating the
importance of interdependence and realism in Japanese culture. The films opposing views of
identity and community are evidenced in the strikingly different portrayals of the antagonists. In
Seven Samurais, there is no one villain, instead the bandits themselves represent the force of evil in
the story. On the other hand, in

Essay on Reconstituting Local Manufacturing
Is it possible to reconstitute local manufacturing and local food markets, or has Globalization
ultimately made this impossible? The global economy and marketplace have impacted local
industry and local manufacturing harshly. With consumers having choices from international
companies able to import their products, a common market pool for the whole world, it has become
more difficult for the local merchants to thrive. Also, many Western companies have established
themselves in developing countries, such as McDonalds and Starbucks, with over 31,000 and
18,000 locations operating worldwide respectively. While the influx of multi national corporations
has created economic opportunities for many in the communities that they operate within.... Show

While these foreign investors infuse currency into the local economies, the toll they take on the
local markets, may not be worth the tradeoff. Could the local governments be taking or
mismanaging the funds? Perhaps the cash infusion could be put to better use to help stabilize or
revitalize the local manufacturing and markets. The case could also be made that the concessions
that the local governments make to entice international companies into their country make it
difficult for or at the least do not address the local manufacturing companies and their concerns.
Because of the problems caused for the local manufacturing and food markets, wages and income
for the local population also suffers, which influences their purchasing power. This creates a circular
effect because without purchasing power the local community cannot support more local
manufacturing. This is certainly a way in which globalization has hindered local manufacturing and
will make it difficult to reconstitute it in the future. Some of the ideals championed by those who
favor globalization will naturally work against the reconstitution of local manufacturing and food
markets. For example, the principle of economic advantage commonly referred to as the iron law,
demands that the best of the countries that initiate competitive strategies is deemed to outdo other
competitors from the market. Put simply, if

America s Growing Coffee Since Colonial Times
Rwandans have been growing coffee since colonial times, but until 1999 the product was classed
below Grade C, making it unsalable on the global markets.[1][2] The farmers did not have the
means to wash and prepare their coffee cherries to specifications in a timely manner. Buyers paid
US$0.33 per kilogram, a price that kept the farmers poor.[3]
In 1999, 220 coffee growers formed an association in the Maraba district (part of the former Butare
Province) to tackle this problem. Many of these farmers had lost family members during the 1994
genocide, while others had husbands in prison, accused of participating in the killings and due to
face trial in the traditional gacaca courts.[4] They named the association Abahuzamugambi, a

PEARL started working with Abahuzamugambi in February 2001 to improve the coffee quality to
standards required by the specialty coffee market in the United States.[5]
The coffee farmers of Maraba first needed a washing station to remove sugar from the coating of
the coffee bean, under the skin. If this sugar is not removed within 12 hours of picking, the flavour
of the coffee is impaired.[6] They built the first station in July 2001 in the Cyarumbo sector, close
to the main road, with funding from UNR, the Office des Cultures Industrielles du Rwanda (OCIR
CafГ©), ACDI/VOCA, and the Institut des Sciences Agronomiques du Rwanda (ISAR). The
opening was late in the harvest season, so only 200 kilograms (441 lb) of that year s harvest were
suitable for washing. However, the results were reasonably good, and the station was upgraded to
allow more coffee to be processed in 2002. To bring mineral water from Mount Huye to the
upgraded station, ACDI/VOCA helped fund a pipeline, which opened in March 2002.[5]
A new certification system was introduced for the 2002 harvest to ensure that beans brought to the
station were of suitable quality. Around half of the Abahuzamugambi membership attained the
certification, which allowed the cooperative to look for serious buyers in the specialty markets of
Europe and North America.[5]

Kehliy (2009) suggests children have four basics needs; the need for love and security, new
experiences, praise and recognition and responsibility. Children have the potential to develop to
their full capacity with these needs met. Maslov in his hierarchy of needs highlighted that
children need their basic needs met before they can develop onto the next stage. He proposed five
key levels; physiology, safety, belongingness, esteem and self actualisation. Each level needs to be
fulfilled to process to the next. With this in mind Maslov s theory suggests that children and adults
cannot reach their full potential unless there needs are met. This theory is strongly represented
within the social services sector and within the care sector (Green, 2009). Smidt (2006)
highlighted that the way in which childhood is perceived changes overtime; adults construct an
image of what childhood should be. The images of childhood and the way children are perceived
are influenced by economics, politics, religion and class. This is evident within theorists differing
views of children and their theories and helps us to understand why these differ. Smidt (2006)
suggested all areas of development are strongly interrelated thus a delay in language development,
for example, can hinder the child s social or emotional development. For children to understand
emotions they need to discuss their feelings, so require the social interaction and language to
discuss this.

task typical for a common person, who is free from disability. In my opinion, the quote All men are

Stephen Harper has continually disgraced Canada and its citizens throughout his almost 10 year
reign as Prime Minister. There are many problems that have risen throughout Harper s governing;
the widening of the wealth gap, the lack of women s rights and aboriginal rights are just a few.
With an election around the corner, it s time for change.
The Harper government tend to push aside many problems that exist in this nation. The wealth gap
is widening tremendously; the rich are getting richer and the poor are still poor. According to

Why One Should Invest Investing
Introduction to why one should invest in hoverboards
Investing in my design for a hoverboard will be a stepping stone for the evolution of
transportation as my method of levitation is simple and practical in comparison to others such as
the use of super conductors which is essentially impractical as it has more constraints. Emissions
from vehicles cause pollution and if the world will lean more towards magnetic levitation for
vehicles, we can reduce our carbon footprint and we can utilize our energy efficiently as there
will be no friction (besides drag) but less energy will be wasted on overcoming friction. Routes
will use ferrous metals such as copper or Aluminium which will be easier to construct and maintain.
Fuel costs will go down ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Gravity would take effect and pull the magnet down. If the magnet experiences a force
downwards then the electrostatic force will increase and then it will push the magnet up.
Essentially proved that that any system of particles that in which the inverse square law [1] was
involved with the forces then they system could not remain in equilibrium and examples of this
square law is gravity and even magnetism. Lenz law [2] comes into play as my hoverboard
essentially will be over a conductive surface (Copper or Aluminium). Lenz law [3] states A electric
current, induced by a source such as a changing magnetic field, always creates a counterforce
opposing the force inducing it . A better understanding the idea of a magnet going through a
copper tube can be used because as the magnet falls down this tube, a current is induced which
flows in the direction that opposes the change in magnetic flux and hence the current will flow
in the direction to cause a like pole to form which will repel the falling magnet and so the magnet
falls slower relative to the speed it normally would and as it exits the copper tube the current will
oppose the change in magnetic flux and form a pole which will speed up the falling magnet [3].
The reason I went into such detail is my main principle on my designs workings. Regarding
mentioning this my design does have constraints as it can only be used over conductive materials
and for it to levitate it must induce

Jane Austen Influences
Jane Austen
In the Romantic era, there were many British writers who entertained audiences around the world.
Today, their works are considered legendary. Many of these writers were females who not only
produced short works, but longer novels as well. Many of these writers had personal experiences
that influenced their writing. One of the dominant writers of this era, who found influences through
her personal experiences with education and family was Jane Austen. Her life was filled with
spending time with her siblings, going to school, and having fun. Austen s family shaped her
into the known author she is today. Her most famous work is Pride and Prejudice. Jane Austen
was born on December 16th, 1775 to Reverend George Austen and Cassandra Austen in
Hampshire, England. She was the seventh of eight children and the second daughter. Their
children listed in order from first born to last are: James, George, Edward, Henry, Cassandra,
Francis, Austen, and Charles. In 1783 Austen and her elder sister Cassandra went to Mrs.
Crawley s boarding School in Oxford for their education. At the age of thirty three, Jane Austen
died in Winchester, England; she died on July 18th, 1816 from Addison s disease, which is a
medical condition in which the adrenal glands (glands right above the kidney) do not produce
enough of certain kinds of hormones ( Addison s Disease ). On the other hand, some researchers
say that Austen died from Hodgkin s Lymphoma, which is a type of cancer that attacks the
immune system and spreads throughout the rest of the body ( Hodgkin s Lymphoma ). There is
also some new research that suggests she may have died of tuberculosis. This was an illness that
was more common during the time period in which she lived. People could get it from drinking
unpasteurized milk or being exposed to cattle. Austen is buried in Winchester, England in the
Winchester Cathedral which is open for visitors. Austen never had any children; in fact, she was
young when she died and sadly had not married yet even though most of her works were romantic
books and talked about love and getting married, ending with the typical and they lived happily
ever after (Warren). Jane Austen lived a wondrous and

How Did Joan Of Arc Save France
Did Joan of Arc receive messages from God to save France, or was she a schizophrenic that just
wanted to gain followers and power? Although she expelled France s enemies, like she said she
would, later in her life she admitted to lying about hearing voices from God which ended up
getting her killed. Joan of Arc accomplished various acts of bravery from: dressing like a man to
get passed enemy lines, to defeating the Anglo Burgundians, to confessing that she had never heard
voices in the first place. She became one of the most notable crusaders during the Hundred Years
War. Through her vigilance of the Journey to Orleans, as well as her downfall due to being named a
witch, then ultimately becoming the Patron Saint of France.
Joan of Arc was born in 1412 in DomrГ©my, France, to a poverty stricken family. Life for her
family was challenging, Joan never even got a proper education, but her mother still made sure to
instill a love for Catholicism in her. During this time, there was a large conflict between France
and England, now known as the Hundred Years War. When Joan was 13, the Anglo Burgundians,
from England, invaded her village and forced her family, and several other families to leave. At
that time, she began to hear voices that she supposed were sent from God. She believed these ...

MOM Up Review
MOM UP is a delightful broad comedy. The concept for MOM UP is a lot of fun and delivers a
strong, eccentric, and very colorful protagonist in Roxy Holliday. Even her name is fun.
The goal is clear and the stakes are personal. The script is driven by themes about growing up,
learning to move forward, and appreciating who you are.
There s no doubt that the highlight of this script is Roxy. She s amusing to watch. She s clearly
flawed, controlling and reckless, but there s something very charming about her. She really has a
good heart, but she makes the wrong decisions for the right reasons.
As much as one really adores Roxy, the script would benefit from more development. It s the
structure and pace that are worthy of discussion.
Basically, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One has to understand a bit better what her life was like growing up with Roxy. She needs to
learn to appreciate Roxy s eccentric, free spirit behavior. Amanda works well as the uptight
woman and at the end make sure she learns to be a bit more reckless, as Roxy becomes more
mature. As mentioned, however, the relationship between her and Bo isn t well understood.
Right now, none of the supporting characters standout, with the exception of Kiley. She s likable
and she has the opportunity to even verbalize some wisdom to Roxy. However, there s really no
need for both Kiley and Alex. They have similar type roles, so consider combining.
Richard doesn t feel essential or understood. Ernesto never really engages. Rusty has strong
potential, but feels underused.
The dialogue is sharp and reveals information about the characters. Roxy s voice is very consistent
with her personality. Amanda s voice sounds uptight, which is also congruent with her personality.
There s nice subtext we all eventually become our mother. Make sure to pay this off.
The script is professionally presented. However, be careful in the narrative of asking too many
questions, as this can be distracting and the audience can t see these questions or comments.
There s no need to repeat BFF. On page 33 there s a small typo Oxy vs. Roxy and on page 45 about
getting the man a suit: How about we can get

The Putney Debates of 1647
Arguments proposed by the Grandees in the simulated debate included justifications and further
defense of the original Grandees arguments. The chief topics to focus on include the importance of
immovable property and vested interests, the threat of anarchy from universal incorporation, and
the essential definition of tacit consent. All aspects of these arguments set out to make the demands
of the Levellers appear unobtainable at the time. When analyzing each topic, the drastic difference
of the Levellers and Grandees are discovered, along with certain similarities that make both sides
appear not so different in ideology. Most importantly, each argument was essential to democracy

The type of consent expressed by an individual did not matter in relevance to their level or
authorization of participation. The main ideal behind tacit consent for the Grandees involved
enjoying the laws that govern the land and protecting citizens from outside influence. These points
automatically made one subjective to the decree of the government, which in this sense required one
to have immovable property in order to have a vote. Along with the idea of tacit consent, the
Grandees highlighted the difference between birthrights and natural rights with the latter not
including the right to vote. For the Levellers, the benefits of birthrights appeared to sufficiently
warrant their ability to take part in voting, but simply being born in England no longer meant
allowed for their selection of leaders and officials. In relation to democracy, the type of consent
present in a government should be expressed, but when the components of a recent civil war and
the possibility of another are present certain types of consent can only be allowed. Furthermore, the
Grandees have effectively identified which measures and precautions to take in order to prevent
future conflict in England, which included ignoring the expressed consent of the citizens. Along
with identifying the consent of the populace, the Grandees accepted the service of the Levellers in
the civil war as consenting to government and being subjective to its

in liabilities and finally the shareholder s equity is the difference between the assets and the
liabilities (Reeves, n.d.). The cash flow just like the balance sheet illustrates how the money is

The European Union And The United Kingdom
The European Union and the United Kingdom have a long history. Winston Churchill himself is
credited with bringing about the idea for the EU as a United State of Europe . Many in the U.K
are now starting to feel that this may not be the best alliance the U.K could be in. The EU is seen
by many Brits as being too much oversight for too little gains. The U.K does not even identify as
majorly European, and therefore believe they should not have the oversight of the EU. The United
Kingdomleaving the EU should be seen as a major issue, and may be a reality by the end of the
decade. If this were to happen it would have major geopolitical effects on the EU as a whole. The

This wording only allows for the two possibilities, but Cameron would prefer a third option. The
Conservatives want to somehow work out a deal with the EU to allow the U.K to stay as a free
trade partner but not to be bound by EU policy. Germany has heavily opposed a special U.K
status, but is not opposed to the idea of multiple statuses within the EU for members. If the
referendum passes before these reforms are made the U.K will leave the European Union, this leads
most to expect that the U.K would quickly sign free trade agreements with all the other European
nations. Brits currently favor cession with 50% of those polled favoring it, and 36% not
favoring it. The U.K perspective on this is that many people support this, but there is a divide
between the public and the corporate world. The U.K identify closer to countries like Australia,
Canada, and the U.S than they do with the EU. This feeling of being British, not European has
only helped strengthen the argument for cession. The major group not supporting cession is
large corporations, while in the EU It is far easier for them to do business than if they had to deal
with a renegotiated Eurozone. Many Brits do not see the EU to be giving them much benefit, this
is perhaps the primary reason for leaving the EU. The EU costs Britain quite a bit of pounds each
year to maintain relations with them, and many brits say it is time for the U.K

Dracula, By Bram Stoker
In the 1897 novel Dracula by Bram Stoker, a vampire named Count Dracula is brought about and
brung into the real world . Many stories, books, movies, and games have developed from this
novel. In the novel, Dracula has a lot of myths attached to him. These myths are what make him a
vampire, and so when other people come up with these new stories or books or movies, they also
implement myths into their characters to give them life as a vampire. In every story, most of the
characters are considered either bad and evil or good and friendly . These labels are based on the
characters actions, thoughts (when possible), and personality traits. In Dracula, Count Dracula
would primarily be classified as the antagonist and evil. As previously mentioned, this is based on
the fact that he made evil decisions, and had very bad qualities about him. However, in Twilight,
Edward is a much more difficult character to label. Him and the Count have many similarities,
however they are also much different. Blood sucking, shapeshifting, killer... These are just some of
the myths attached to Count Dracula. Dracula is a vampire, and as we all know, vampires consume
blood. In the novel, the author Bram Stokernever mentions how Dracula became a vampire (every
other vampire was created off of Dracula), however Van Helsing thinks that he made a deal with
the Devil and traded his mortality for that of a cursed soul in return for something else. A lot of

Argumentative Essay On Stickers
Plate 1
GRAFFITI: STICKERS
Sticker art (also known as sticker bombing, sticker slapping, and sticker tagging) is a form of
street art in which an image or message is publicly displayed using stickers. Stickers leave a mark
that can affect a person s mood, cause thought, and inspire a reaction. Stickers are cheaper, more
effective, and less risky than other forms of graffiti (tags, throw ups, etc). The most common
stickers found in Lower Manhattan include large scale wheatpaste stickers and small vinyl stickers
that are difficult to remove.
As long as stickers are being put up faster than they weather or are cleaned, they are accumulating.
For cities, stickers provide a constant maintenance battle.

What factors contribute to and/or cause this problem?
Unprotected Sex
Having unprotected sex is one of the main contributor in STDs. Although using a condom doesn t
guarantee that you won t get STDs, condoms are the best way to avoid getting infected while still
having sex.
Multiple Sexual Partners
People with multiple partners tend to choose partners with multiple partners, so each individual
you are having sex with is most likely to have an infection with someone you don t even know. It s
simple math, the more partners you have sex with, the more you will be exposed to an STD.
Having STDs
Having one STD frequently makes you more susceptible to infection by other STDs. Skin that is
irritated, inflamed, or blistered is easier for another pathogen to infect. Having an STD is also an
indirect reflection of your risk of new infection. Since you were exposed once already, it suggests
that other factors in your lifestyle may be putting you at risk.
Trading Sex for Money / Drugs
People who trade sex for money or drugs may not be sufficiently empowered to negotiate that sex
be safer sex. Furthermore, partners acquired in this manner are far more likely to be infected with
STDs than people in the general population.

France language Essay
Numerous cultures from around the world have circulated many traditions to other cultures.
Although most of the traditions in the earlier eras were not recorded or written, through
communication skills, one is able to access these customs by interviewing someone from that
culture. Language is the key module to a single culture, whether only one culture speaks a particular
language or many cultures across the world share that same language. Sharing a language with
another culture is a way of combining two or more cultures together in which they have a mutual
characteristic of each culture. The French languageis spoken in several countries; some consist of
the United States, Canada, France, and other adjacent countries. With the... Show more content on

One of these customs is the use of the twenty four hour time for official diagrams and everyday
scheduling. The way people carry out their days emphasizes the foremost variation from culture to
culture. Annual calendars show a discrepancy in which the day comes preceding the current month.
Another contrast in culture involves food. In the modern day English culture, most families obtain
the groceries from a local supermarket or a confined grocery store. Throughout the French culture,
however, cuisine is purchased through a fresh market or a farmer s market before each meal or
day. This actually allows French citizens to spend less and eat more fresh food. The French culture
is an immense stretch or a diminutive stretch from the traditional way of life in the United States.
Another variation in the French language is the structure of grammar. Terms used in the French
language are very dissimilar compared to that of the English language. For instance, the English
word know is actually represented in two different ways used in the French verbal communication.
ConnaГ®tre is used when trying to say that one physically knows another. Savoir is used when one
actually possesses knowledge about a specific fact or truth. Both words are used to make the
statement that one knows something, but

Nuclear Facilities Are Among The Most Highly Secured...
Nuclear facilities are among the most highly secured infrastructure in the nation. As analog system
and instruments are becoming obsolete, the nuclear industry is starting to implement new digital
systems throughout different facilities. In order to lower the risks of physical and cyber attacks,
nuclear facilities are adopting strict protection policy and practices. Despite the implementation of
these safety measures, digital instruments and computerbased systems associated with physical
protection system and control system inside the facilities can still be exposed to more cyber
vulnerabilities. The dependency on digital system can endanger cybersecurity and the physical

The Pros And Consequences Of Overfishing
All around the world fishing fleets are growing both in quantity and size, and are fishing at a
dangerous rate. Overfishing has been the root cause of the drastic drop in sea wildlife at rates too
high for fish and whale species to replace themselves, this issue gained attention in the mid 20th
century and led the creation of regulation organization policies both from state governments and the
organizations. For the past three decades overfishing is still an ongoing environmental issue, there
is international support invested in bringing awareness and developing methods to save what has
been lost, but there is also international opposition due to the actors either fighting to keep
regulations at a minimum or looking for exceptions or loopholes to the regulations, actors are also
just not complying with the set regulations. This paper will focus on examining two environmental
regimes, fisheries depletion and whaling, both regimes share a number of similarities in regards to
being a global commons issue, nature of agreements, and economic profit industries working
against them, but they had different outcomes.
In comparison to each other, the fishery depletion regime has had a low level of effectiveness
while the whaling regime has had a medium level of effectiveness, the aim of this paper is to
identify what caused the difference in outcomes. The first part of the paper will be divided into
two sections providing a quick overview of each regime, following this will my

Defining Socially Conscious Film Making Essay
DOES THE END JUSTIFY THE MEANS? HOW DO WE DEFINE SOCIALLY CONSCIOUS
FILMMAKING?
Two accountants recently told me that the IRS is questioning (as they tended to do so years ago)
whether filmmakers are hobbyists or professionals. They determine this on the basis of whether or
not profits are made on a sustainable basis.
Most obviously, one of the main issues facing our industry is supply and demand too many people
willing to work for low wages in an industry in which there is too little demand in comparison to
what is produced.
Certainly, the indie doc economy has been impacted by oversupply, due in part by lower barriers
to entry created by myriad of technological changes, and an ever changing media landscape. But
given that we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Are we exempt from the social responsibilities that our progressive films champion because the
ends justify the means? The system is not working. And while it may be seemingly impossible to
change, this does not absolve us of our responsibility to critically examine a system that, like many
others in our global economy, which can be classist, ageist and exploitative. Let s look at the
elephant in the room constructively, bravely, honestly and in the spirit of discovery.
Before hearing the report on NPR today, I contemplated applying for the Ch4 BritDoc Fund. I read
the following in small print:
We cannot give you the level of funding that TV provides. On average, we invest (please define)
between ВЈ10,000 and ВЈ30,000 and the budgets our filmmakers work to are very pared down.
More often than not (though this varies from project to project) this means you will be expected to
put your time in for free or a nominal sum until the deficit is raised.
The text continued: When the Foundation invests (there s word again see the text of Dan Cogan s
well intentioned but misguided Toronto Film Festival speech in IndieWire) in a film we fully come
on board as Exec Producers.
Another funder, Chicken Egg, is also requesting Executive Producer credit on many of the films
they support, e.g., Pariah has Julie Parker Benello, Judith Helfand, Wendy Ettinger listed as
Executive Producers.

The Role Of Communication In The Domestication Of Cats
Domestication of cats began 9,500 years ago based on the carcass of a cat carefully laid at an
ancient Cyprus burial site next to a human being. Humans had already begun domestication other
animals such as dogs prior (Serpell, 2014). Cats became useful after humans settled and kept grains
in stores, which attracted mice. Using their predating skills to eradicate the mice they slowly self
domesticated themselves into man s home and heart. The cats adapted to the human environment
by evolving some of their behavior and abandoning their aggressive wild born behaviors which
transformed some cats from being feral to being pets. The three main sensory mediums for cats
communication are visual, vocal and scent. Vocal communications in cats strengthen the visual
signals. Their sounds have a wide range from quiet purrs and trills to loud distress vocalizations.
Domestic and feral cats differ from each other in their vocalization, which proves that human
influences how cats talk.
Cats communicate with each other in a very unique way. They naturally know catlanguage although
sometimes it s hard for humans to pick up on what they re saying. Kittens meow more frequently

Some of the sounds can be produced with the mouth closed such as purrs, trills and chirrups which
are also the distance reducing signals. Sounds such as meow are produced while the mouth

signals and signify distress for example hisses and growls. Purrs and meows vary in pitch, intensity,
frequency, rapidity, and volume depending on the physical needs and emotional state of the cat.
Such sounds can be used for different reasons like communicating with human beings to make
people better understand their pets mental and physical

popular democracy movement and ended with the establishment of the world s first Islamic state.

opinions of the revolution. Those who were pro Islam during the revolution believe that the
revolution was an event that brought structure and order to Iran. However, those who were against

Iran before the Revolution
The Pahlavi dynasty In 1921, Reza Khan (later Reza Shah Pahlavi), an officer in Iran s military
force used his troops to support a coup against the government of the Qajar Dynasty. (Ghasemi)
The Qajar Dynasty had ruled Iran since 1794. By 1925, Reza Khan had become the most powerful
person in Iran due to his containment of rebellions and establishment of order and he was named
the new Shah of Iran.
Economy under the Shah Reza Shah had plans to modernize Iran while he was the ruler. These
plans included developing large scale industries, implementing major infrastructure projects,
building a cross country railroad system, establishing a national public education system, reforming
the judiciary, and improving health care. (Ghasemi) Also, the rate of imports and exports
increased, with Germany, the US and the Soviet Union becoming Iran s primary trading partners.
From 1954 to 1960, oil revenues increased rapidly and sustained foreign aid led to greater
investment and rapid economic growth. However, inflation increased and the value of the Iranian
currency decreased.
Society under the Shah Society under the Shah was different than Iranian society today due to
many reasons. First, women were not

Arlington V. Metroplex Case Study
The plaintiffs in this case are Amber Arlington and Madison Metroplex. The causes of action
available to Ms. Metroplex are direct negligence, premises liability, negligent hiring and
harassment. Ms. Arlington would have a cause of action to recover as a bystander to the accident
if she had a familial relationship to Ms. Metroplex. As she does not, there is no cause of action
available to Ms. Arlington. The defendants are Forever 21 and the Austin Forever 21 s store

Ms. Arlington took photos of the oily substance on the floor which may help determine the
nature and scope of the danger. For instance: was it just a few drops of liquid which Ms.
Arlington happened to see right after Ms. Metroplex fell, or a substantial puddle posing a real
danger to customers? It is also remotely possible that the state of the liquid after the accident
could give indication of whether Ms. Metroplex slipped in the liquid and then fell, or if she fell
into it after her shoes buckled beneath her. We will also request the Forever 21 manager s incident
report. There are elements of this report which could weaken our client s case: the manager stated
that Ms. Metroplex fell due to cork wedges, into the oily substance on the floor. Ms. Metroplex then
reviewed and signed this report. The defense will argue that the plaintiff s signature on this
document amounts to an admission of comparative negligence, removing liability from Forever 21
and its manager. We can argue that the Forever 21 manager s insistence on Ms. Metroplex signing
this incident report amounted to harassment and thus her signature was coerced and is invalid. The
incident report is also missing the statements and contact information of two witnesses. We will
want to track them down and get their statements, as they may be able to confirm or deny
information that the manager set forth in his incident

Course Title: Legal Environment of International Business
Prepared by: Farha Fatema

Executive Summary
Negotiable instruments are written orders or unconditional promises to pay a fixed sum of money
on demand or at a certain time. Promissory notes, bills of exchange, checks, drafts, and certificates
of deposit are all examples of negotiable instruments. Negotiable instruments may be transferred
from one person to another, who is known as a holder in due course. Upon transfer, also called
negotiation of the instrument, the holder in due course obtains full legal title to the instrument.

For it to work, it is imperative that the instrument be easily transferable without danger of being
uncollectible.
TYPES OF NEGOTIABLE INSTRUMENTS: Negotiable instruments include two main types: an
order to pay (encompasses drafts and checks) and promises to pay(promissory notes and CD s). The
instruments can also be classified as demand instruments or time instruments. Thus there are four
types of negotiable instruments. Demand instrument: payable on demand. (demand= instrument
states it is payable on sight or demand to a holder) [a holder is the person in possession] A good
example of a demand arrangement is a checking account, sometimes called a demand deposit
account.
1. DRAFTS AND CHECKS (ORDERS TO PAY)
Draft (or a bill of exchange): INVOLVES 3 PARTIES: An unconditional written order to pay by
which the party creating the draft (the drawer) orders another party (the drawee), typically a bank,
to pay money to a third party (the payee) e.g., a check.

The Licence Fee Challenged
When the licence fee was first introduced it was seen as an appropriate way to keep the BBC free
from commercial and government interests. When the licensee was first introduced into the
wireless telegraphy act in November 1923 to cover radio sets it cost 10 shillings per year. By the
end of the year 200, 000 licences had been issued and five years later this had risen to two and a

Many alternatives to the licence fee have been proposed, initially the BBC contemplated using a
model championed by retail giant John Lewis in which licence fee payers could become part
shareholders in the corporation. Since the freezing of the current licence fee rate until 2017, have
been forced to make BBC3 a purely online service. Director General Tony Hall warned that BBC4
could be next to go, if further cuts were made to the BBC s funding .
There have also been calls to introduce a subscription model for the BBC, which has been firmly
rejected by the corporation. The BBC warned that a subscription model could be exclusionary to
those unable to afford to pay. Their refusal to enter into a subscription based system may be
justified, as Sky, the UK s first subscription based model announced a target of 10 million homes
in 2004, the target was only reached in 2010, as subscriber numbers elsewhere in europe started to
plateau. The amount of time taken to reach this milestone should be of worry for the BBC, as if
they are unable to encourage enough people to sign on the dotted line then they may experience a

An Interview On College Athletes
In an interview, former University of Connecticut (UConn) basketball star Shabazz Napier voiced
his opinion on college athletes not getting paid to play. The interview was conducted just after
UConn won a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) championship, in which Napier
won the most outstanding player award. The interview conducted by Fox News was only one
minute and thirty five seconds long on TV, however in that short time frame, Napier skillfully used
rhetoricto support his claims. An analysis through the lens of Aristotle s three proofs, Ethos, Pathos
and Logos demonstrates Napier s aptitude to galvanize his audience to support his claims.
Ethos was specifically important in Napier s ability to spur the NCAA in considering making
changes in their no compensation policy towards college athletes. Aristotle states that Ethos is used
to build credibility of a person towards their audience. The rethor not only has to prove that he is
knowledgeable of the subject at hand (demonstrating mental habits), but also that he has good moral
and emotional habits. Through the interview Napier was able to exhibit all of these characteristics
in positively shaping the perception of the audience.
Napier exuded good mental habits throughout the interview. He was able to create that perception to
the audience by the way in which he addressed each question, while also appearing to address the
questions that may subsequently follow. Starting from the beginning of the interview

Federal Government Regulation (FECA)
The federal government occasionally passes legislation intended to regulate the amount of
corruption that occurs during election season. However, the effects of these regulations have not at
all been collectively positive. These regulations have unfortunately encouraged the increase in
campaign contributions and spending by various nefarious influences.
In the 1970s, FECA brought forth legislation that put limits on federal campaign contributions and
spending, and that set up a system of public funding for presidential campaigns. Limits were
placed so that the only a certain amount of money could be contributed by an individual or party
organization to a candidate in a given year. However, no limits were set on the amount of

This legislation banned soft money contributions to national parties, but as with FECA, it
allowed entities to raise and spend unlimited amounts on candidates. 527 groups must only
refrain from coordinating with the campaign and cannot support or reject outright specific
candidates. These groups must also disclose their donors and submit to regulation by the FEC.
501(c) groups, on the other hand, are not required to disclose their donors. They simply must
spend no more than 50% of their revenue on independent expenditures. So, well connected
politicians are still able to raise a large amount of money via the help of special interest groups
interested in buying their time. This situation also makes it all the more difficult for challengers,
as incumbents will likely already have a large amount of money in their PAC from their previous
years in office. Not only that, but if their time in office was well regarded by lobbyists and special
interest groups, incumbents will be able to raise more money during election season than the
challenger who potentially will not bow to the interests of those

  • 2. Security Assessment and Recommendation Running head: POTENTIAL WEAKNESSES Security Assessment and Recommendations Security Assessment and Recommendations I have been charged with the task of identifying potential security weaknesses and recommending solutions for Quality Web Design (QWD). The project was completed in two phases. The first phase of the project specifically identified and defined two potential security weaknesses: software and policy. The second phase recommends solutions to these potential weaknesses. I chose a scenario that outlines specifics of the organization s type of business, business processes, assets, services, and security controls. It is crucial for any organization to take necessary steps in securing their business assets, and customer s... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An attack to these mission critical processes can mean a decrease in the organization s revenue; client s personal information being accessed, modified, or even deleted; and even degraded network performance. QWD would lose significant clientele and would not be as appealing to their target audience not so good for their mission of providing top quality services. Policy Reducing the exposure of the corporate network from outside attacks is crucial in protecting mission critical processes for QWD. The security assessment doesn t end with software firewalls for their remote users. The company s security policy must also address this vulnerability. QWD has policy in place that speaks to who has access to data and the type of data; username standards; password length, complexity, rotation, and history; and security training. However, their policy doesn t address remote access devices: installation and configuration of firewall and anti virus software on all employees remote computers and acceptable use. These are critical in preventing remote computers and mobile devices from compromising the corporate network (Ruskwig, 2006, pp. 1). Without such a policy in place, there is no guideline for securing QWD s assets. Any remote employee that has Internet connection that is always on runs the risk of infection or even allowing access to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Exile And Pain In Three Elegiac Poems Essay There is a great similarity between the three elegiac poems, The Wanderer, The Wife of Lament, and The Seafarer. This similarity is the theme of exile. Exile means separation, or banishment from ones native country, region, or home. During the Anglo Saxon period, exile caused a great amount of pain and grief. The theme is shown to have put great sadness into literature of this time period. The majority of the world s literature from the past contains the theme of exile. The Wife of Lament is another perfect example of literature with exile, and was written by an unknown author. The most striking example of exile in this poem can be seen in the passage when she says, quot;A song I sing of sorrow unceasing, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The author continually describes how incredibly miserable he is living his life in exile, how awful it is to have to live without the guidance from a higher rank being a lord and king in this case, how there is no one to talk to and to share ones feelings with, and how there is no money or riches of any kind‚ for a man who is living in exile. For the most part, the poem is sad and depressing and the reader easily sees what this man is going through and how terrible it must be for him to live without all the things many others take for granted everyday of their lives. The author of this poem, who has obviously been exiled, does an exquisite job of showing, maybe even teaching, to the reader how important the things are that you lose in life when exiled, no matter how rich or poor you are. You take the greatest loss of all when you are exiled, you take the loss of losing everything that makes it seem purposeful for you to live out the day you just began. This is obviously the idea the author is trying to get across in this poem. Throughout the poem The Seafarer, also composed by an unknown author, it is obvious that the man is not exiled directly in the ways people have been exiled in the other poems, however being stuck on a ship is in many ways quite similar to being exiled from your homeland. Numerous passages in this poem show this mans painful life at sea. The one that stands out most greatly to me is this passage; ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The couple met in 1940 on the set of a movie called Too Many Girls. Lucille Ball was a singer, model and a comedienne when she met Desi. She was also 5 years older than Desi but the dashing 23 year old Cuban bandleader caught her eye and they fell in love and married after only dating for 6 months. No one believed that their marriage would last. Their friends and associates placed bets on how long the relationship would last. Sounds a lot like Predicted Outcome Value Theory. • 7. Object Relations Theory Is A Psychodynamic Theory Object Relations Theory Object relations theory is a psychodynamic theory that observes our capability to form long lasting attachments, and is based on our early experiences of disconnection from and connections with out primary caregivers. We internalize our initial relationship examples, which means that our first relationships make lasting impressions on us, determining how we approach future relationships. Also, object relations theorystudies how people form various attitudes towards others and how those attitudes affect their view of themselves as well as social relationships. There is a central notion of object relation s theory, which is that all people naturally search for relationships with others, what this theory looks at is how well an individual can form the interpersonal relationship and what, if any, deficiencies in social functioning may have occurred. For social workers, this theory is helpful in seeing an individual in the framework of the relationship rather than an individual being. According to object relations theory, the ultimate situation is to be raised by caregivers who in turn help us to progressively and appropriately move away from their physical and emotional direct care while they continue to convey their availability for support (Hutchison, 2013). These early associations are a major determinant of our personalities and the quality of our interpersonal performance (Hutchison, 2013; Dorfman, Meyer, Morgan, 1998). Essentially, an ... Brown acted outside the law for a cause that he strongly believed in. He is a martyr by opinion and definition. The abolitionist movement used to be miniscule compared to the pro slavery stance. John Brown was one of a handful of white people who were anti slavery. It was a cause he was willing to die for. A cause he had an enormous amount of passion for. Brown in 1855 had assisted in the escape of several slaves. An act that was selfless. He during the time had a sizeable amount of lawsuits against him, all of which relating to his employment in the wool industry. The lawsuits are of relevance when portraying Brown as a martyr; even though he had all these problems in his present he still fought for what he believed in. • 10. Derek Jeter Shortstop Essay The debate about who the best shortstop of all time is, is very controversial but I can put an end to many discussions. There are two main shortstops who are being argued over. Cal Ripken Jr. and Derek Jeter. These two players are both great ball players but only one can take the title of being the Greatest Of All Time. Derek Jeteris the best shortstop of all time for many reasons because he was great at fielding, hitting, and he still is a great person because of what he s doing in retirement. Derek Jeter s fielding performance was among the best in the history of baseball. Jeter played for 20 years and was a lifelong shortstop for the Yankees. He had a career fielding percent of .976 which means that for every 1000 balls he was hit, he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He had 3465 hits in his career. This ranks him 6th of all time in the hits category. He has the most hits out of all the shortstops to ever play in the MLB. Also, he hit a home run as his 3000th hit and he was only the second person ever to reach this feat. He joined Wade Boggs in this club later followed by a teammate Alex Rodriguez. (baseball reference.com) Derek s batting average was .310. So, for every 10 times he has an at bat, he gets 3 hits. This is very hard to do because of the fact that the pitchers are throwing high 80s low 90s. Finally, his OBP, on base percentage, was a staggering .377! An on base percentage of .325 is a good OBP, and Jeter s was higher than that. These stats show how great Jeter was while at the plate. Jeter retired in 2014 and he is helping others through his retirement. He and his sister Sharlee started the Turn 2 Foundation. This foundation helps kids turn away from a life of drugs and gangs, and turn towards a life of healthy eating and healthy lifestyle. • 11. A Reflection On The s The Vision Of Happiness It s been said that If the immediate and direct purpose of our life is not suffering then our existence is the most ill adapted to its purpose in the world . Obviously, that person was not Aristotle (unless the entirety of Nichomachean Ethics utilizes a tone of obfuscated sarcasm typically reserved for internet forums or pretentious asides) as he posits happiness as the ultimate human end, and contemplation the best way of achieving it. However, both the vision of happiness he puts forth, as well as the means for achieving it, differ widely from the typical semantics held throughout antiquity and modernity by the listless majority. Although rather than simply explain his thought, I intend to demonstrate how one comes to such conclusions, and so we must return to the initial Germanic dissension. Initially, it seems difficult to argue with such an assertion. Within humanity alone, there exists a constancy of suffering, which resonates with greater magnitude and frequency then any other state of being. As all else decays, human suffering endures with adamant universality, gleaming with such brightness that it outshines all other potential ends (apart from, perhaps, the biological imperatives of preservation and procreation). Yet suffering as an end in itself seems so morbidly facetious that it is overlooked by the willfully ignorant and the optimistically rational alike (and since I am a meritocratic elitist, we might as well focus exclusively on the arguments made by ... • 12. The Magnificent Seven And Seven Samurai When recreating a classic film, especially when it is through a different cultural lense, it is inevitable that the original plot, characters, and overall feeling of the movie will be skewed. Our cultural identities and social norms are so ingrained into us that they are bound to be reflected in our art. The film conversion from the Japanese made Seven Samuraito the American remake, The Magnificent Seven, is a poignant example of this. Despite having almost identical plot lines, the films emanate contrasting feelings and to a certain extent, portray different messages. When examining the role of American culture in film, one often looks to the quintessential romance or action plots, stories in which true love conquers all or an underdog overcomes adversity to defeat a villain. As demonstrated by these iconic storylines and The Magnificent Seven film, American culture places a strong value on individualism and the idealistic approach to life, which similar to the American dream, tells us that hard work will always be rewarded. On the other hand, Seven Samurais greatly emphasizes family, unity, and the consequences of our actions, demonstrating the importance of interdependence and realism in Japanese culture. • 13. Essay on Reconstituting Local Manufacturing Is it possible to reconstitute local manufacturing and local food markets, or has Globalization ultimately made this impossible? The global economy and marketplace have impacted local industry and local manufacturing harshly. With consumers having choices from international companies able to import their products, a common market pool for the whole world, it has become more difficult for the local merchants to thrive. Also, many Western companies have established themselves in developing countries, such as McDonalds and Starbucks, with over 31,000 and 18,000 locations operating worldwide respectively. While the influx of multi national corporations has created economic opportunities for many in the communities that they operate within.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While these foreign investors infuse currency into the local economies, the toll they take on the local markets, may not be worth the tradeoff. Could the local governments be taking or mismanaging the funds? Perhaps the cash infusion could be put to better use to help stabilize or revitalize the local manufacturing and markets. The case could also be made that the concessions that the local governments make to entice international companies into their country make it difficult for or at the least do not address the local manufacturing companies and their concerns. Because of the problems caused for the local manufacturing and food markets, wages and income for the local population also suffers, which influences their purchasing power. This creates a circular effect because without purchasing power the local community cannot support more local manufacturing. This is certainly a way in which globalization has hindered local manufacturing and will make it difficult to reconstitute it in the future. Some of the ideals championed by those who favor globalization will naturally work against the reconstitution of local manufacturing and food markets. For example, the principle of economic advantage commonly referred to as the iron law, demands that the best of the countries that initiate competitive strategies is deemed to outdo other competitors from the market. • 14. America s Growing Coffee Since Colonial Times Rwandans have been growing coffee since colonial times, but until 1999 the product was classed below Grade C, making it unsalable on the global markets.[1][2] The farmers did not have the means to wash and prepare their coffee cherries to specifications in a timely manner. Buyers paid US$0.33 per kilogram, a price that kept the farmers poor.[3] In 1999, 220 coffee growers formed an association in the Maraba district (part of the former Butare Province) to tackle this problem. Many of these farmers had lost family members during the 1994 genocide, while others had husbands in prison, accused of participating in the killings and due to face trial in the traditional gacaca courts.[4] They named the association Abahuzamugambi, a Kinyarwanda ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... PEARL started working with Abahuzamugambi in February 2001 to improve the coffee quality to standards required by the specialty coffee market in the United States.[5] The coffee farmers of Maraba first needed a washing station to remove sugar from the coating of the coffee bean, under the skin. If this sugar is not removed within 12 hours of picking, the flavour of the coffee is impaired.[6] They built the first station in July 2001 in the Cyarumbo sector, close to the main road, with funding from UNR, the Office des Cultures Industrielles du Rwanda (OCIR CafГ©), ACDI/VOCA, and the Institut des Sciences Agronomiques du Rwanda (ISAR). The opening was late in the harvest season, so only 200 kilograms (441 lb) of that year s harvest were suitable for washing. However, the results were reasonably good, and the station was upgraded to allow more coffee to be processed in 2002. To bring mineral water from Mount Huye to the upgraded station, ACDI/VOCA helped fund a pipeline, which opened in March 2002.[5] A new certification system was introduced for the 2002 harvest to ensure that beans brought to the station were of suitable quality. Around half of the Abahuzamugambi membership attained the certification, which allowed the cooperative to look for serious buyers in the specialty markets of Europe and North America.[5] International acceptance[edit] The Cyarumba washing station PEARL brought a ... Kehliy (2009) suggests children have four basics needs; the need for love and security, new experiences, praise and recognition and responsibility. Children have the potential to develop to their full capacity with these needs met. Maslov in his hierarchy of needs highlighted that children need their basic needs met before they can develop onto the next stage. He proposed five key levels; physiology, safety, belongingness, esteem and self actualisation. Each level needs to be fulfilled to process to the next. With this in mind Maslov s theory suggests that children and adults cannot reach their full potential unless there needs are met. This theory is strongly represented within the social services sector and within the care sector (Green, 2009). Smidt (2006) highlighted that the way in which childhood is perceived changes overtime; adults construct an image of what childhood should be. The images of childhood and the way children are perceived are influenced by economics, politics, religion and class. This is evident within theorists differing views of children and their theories and helps us to understand why these differ. Smidt (2006) suggested all areas of development are strongly interrelated thus a delay in language development, for example, can hinder the child s social or emotional development. Why One Should Invest Investing Introduction to why one should invest in hoverboards Investing in my design for a hoverboard will be a stepping stone for the evolution of transportation as my method of levitation is simple and practical in comparison to others such as the use of super conductors which is essentially impractical as it has more constraints. Emissions from vehicles cause pollution and if the world will lean more towards magnetic levitation for vehicles, we can reduce our carbon footprint and we can utilize our energy efficiently as there will be no friction (besides drag) but less energy will be wasted on overcoming friction. Essentially proved that that any system of particles that in which the inverse square law [1] was involved with the forces then they system could not remain in equilibrium and examples of this square law is gravity and even magnetism. Lenz law [2] comes into play as my hoverboard essentially will be over a conductive surface (Copper or Aluminium). Lenz law [3] states A electric current, induced by a source such as a changing magnetic field, always creates a counterforce opposing the force inducing it . A better understanding the idea of a magnet going through a copper tube can be used because as the magnet falls down this tube, a current is induced which flows in the direction that opposes the change in magnetic flux and hence the current will flow in the direction to cause a like pole to form which will repel the falling magnet and so the magnet falls slower relative to the speed it normally would and as it exits the copper tube the current will oppose the change in magnetic flux and form a pole which will speed up the falling magnet [3]. The reason I went into such detail is my main principle on my designs workings. Regarding mentioning this my design does have constraints as it can only be used over conductive materials and for it to levitate it must induce ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Many of these writers were females who not only produced short works, but longer novels as well. Many of these writers had personal experiences that influenced their writing. One of the dominant writers of this era, who found influences through her personal experiences with education and family was Jane Austen. Her life was filled with spending time with her siblings, going to school, and having fun. Austen s family shaped her into the known author she is today. Her most famous work is Pride and Prejudice. Jane Austen was born on December 16th, 1775 to Reverend George Austen and Cassandra Austen in Hampshire, England. She was the seventh of eight children and the second daughter. Their children listed in order from first born to last are: James, George, Edward, Henry, Cassandra, Francis, Austen, and Charles. In 1783 Austen and her elder sister Cassandra went to Mrs. Crawley s boarding School in Oxford for their education. At the age of thirty three, Jane Austen died in Winchester, England; she died on July 18th, 1816 from Addison s disease, which is a medical condition in which the adrenal glands (glands right above the kidney) do not produce enough of certain kinds of hormones ( Addison s Disease ). On the other hand, some researchers say that Austen died from Hodgkin s Lymphoma, which is a type of cancer that attacks the immune system and spreads throughout the rest of the body ( Hodgkin s Lymphoma ). However, during the Biathlon event, the GamePad is used in a resourceful manner as you will use the GamePad to aim your bow via gyro controls and get a zoomed in view of the target. A lot of games are controlled using the Wii Remote Plus (which comes packaged with the title), and, for the most part, they play well. One of the poorest implementations of motion control is found in Figure Skating. It requires odd movement of the Wii Remote which makes the event unappealing. Figure Skating aside, all the other events play well using the Wii Remote Plus and the motion controls really bring them to life. We found the Dream Events to be incredible fun while playing with family and friends. Many of these events are creative and make for an amusing play session. One of the best Dream Events to play with friends is Snowball Scrimmage, which is a 2 on 2 game. The goal of Snowball Scrimmage is to place a giant ball into a hole. Sounds simple enough, right? Winston Churchill himself is credited with bringing about the idea for the EU as a United State of Europe . Many in the U.K are now starting to feel that this may not be the best alliance the U.K could be in. The EU is seen by many Brits as being too much oversight for too little gains. The U.K does not even identify as majorly European, and therefore believe they should not have the oversight of the EU. The Conservatives want to somehow work out a deal with the EU to allow the U.K to stay as a free trade partner but not to be bound by EU policy. Germany has heavily opposed a special U.K status, but is not opposed to the idea of multiple statuses within the EU for members. If the referendum passes before these reforms are made the U.K will leave the European Union, this leads most to expect that the U.K would quickly sign free trade agreements with all the other European nations. The U.K perspective on this is that many people support this, but there is a divide between the public and the corporate world. The U.K identify closer to countries like Australia, Canada, and the U.S than they do with the EU. This feeling of being British, not European has only helped strengthen the argument for cession. The major group not supporting cession is large corporations, while in the EU It is far easier for them to do business than if they had to deal with a renegotiated Eurozone. • 37. Dracula, By Bram Stoker In the 1897 novel Dracula by Bram Stoker, a vampire named Count Dracula is brought about and brung into the real world . Many stories, books, movies, and games have developed from this novel. In the novel, Dracula has a lot of myths attached to him. These myths are what make him a vampire, and so when other people come up with these new stories or books or movies, they also implement myths into their characters to give them life as a vampire. In every story, most of the characters are considered either bad and evil or good and friendly . These labels are based on the characters actions, thoughts (when possible), and personality traits. In Dracula, Count Dracula would primarily be classified as the antagonist and evil. As previously mentioned, this is based on the fact that he made evil decisions, and had very bad qualities about him. However, in Twilight, Edward is a much more difficult character to label. Him and the Count have many similarities, however they are also much different. Blood sucking, shapeshifting, killer... These are just some of the myths attached to Count Dracula. Dracula is a vampire, and as we all know, vampires consume blood. In the novel, the author Bram Stokernever mentions how Dracula became a vampire (every other vampire was created off of Dracula), however Van Helsing thinks that he made a deal with the Devil and traded his mortality for that of a cursed soul in return for something else. Two accountants recently told me that the IRS is questioning (as they tended to do so years ago) whether filmmakers are hobbyists or professionals. The Role Of Communication In The Domestication Of Cats Domestication of cats began 9,500 years ago based on the carcass of a cat carefully laid at an ancient Cyprus burial site next to a human being. Humans had already begun domestication other animals such as dogs prior (Serpell, 2014). Cats became useful after humans settled and kept grains in stores, which attracted mice. Using their predating skills to eradicate the mice they slowly self domesticated themselves into man s home and heart. The cats adapted to the human environment by evolving some of their behavior and abandoning their aggressive wild born behaviors which transformed some cats from being feral to being pets. The three main sensory mediums for cats communication are visual, vocal and scent. Vocal communications in cats strengthen the visual signals. Their sounds have a wide range from quiet purrs and trills to loud distress vocalizations. Domestic and feral cats differ from each other in their vocalization, which proves that human influences how cats talk. Cats communicate with each other in a very unique way. • 54. An Interview On College Athletes In an interview, former University of Connecticut (UConn) basketball star Shabazz Napier voiced his opinion on college athletes not getting paid to play. The interview was conducted just after UConn won a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) championship, in which Napier won the most outstanding player award. The interview conducted by Fox News was only one minute and thirty five seconds long on TV, however in that short time frame, Napier skillfully used rhetoricto support his claims. An analysis through the lens of Aristotle s three proofs, Ethos, Pathos and Logos demonstrates Napier s aptitude to galvanize his audience to support his claims. Ethos was specifically important in Napier s ability to spur the NCAA in considering making changes in their no compensation policy towards college athletes. Aristotle states that Ethos is used to build credibility of a person towards their audience. The rethor not only has to prove that he is knowledgeable of the subject at hand (demonstrating mental habits), but also that he has good moral and emotional habits. Through the interview Napier was able to exhibit all of these characteristics in positively shaping the perception of the audience. Napier exuded good mental habits throughout the interview. He was able to create that perception to the audience by the way in which he addressed each question, while also appearing to address the questions that may subsequently follow. Starting from the beginning of the interview ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, the effects of these regulations have not at all been collectively positive. These regulations have unfortunately encouraged the increase in campaign contributions and spending by various nefarious influences. In the 1970s, FECA brought forth legislation that put limits on federal campaign contributions and spending, and that set up a system of public funding for presidential campaigns. Limits were placed so that the only a certain amount of money could be contributed by an individual or party organization to a candidate in a given year. However, no limits were set on the amount of nonfederal party activity spending or independent spending by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This legislation banned soft money contributions to national parties, but as with FECA, it allowed entities to raise and spend unlimited amounts on candidates. 527 groups must only refrain from coordinating with the campaign and cannot support or reject outright specific candidates. These groups must also disclose their donors and submit to regulation by the FEC. 501(c) groups, on the other hand, are not required to disclose their donors. They simply must spend no more than 50% of their revenue on independent expenditures. So, well connected politicians are still able to raise a large amount of money via the help of special interest groups interested in buying their time. This situation also makes it all the more difficult for challengers, as incumbents will likely already have a large amount of money in their PAC from their previous years in office. Not only that, but if their time in office was well regarded by lobbyists and special interest groups, incumbents will be able to raise more money during election season than the challenger who potentially will not bow to the interests of those ...
