swordsmanship.

King and his Quest.

10. Percival
One of King Arthur's
most trusted
lieutenants.
Also one of the “Grail
Knights”, as he is the
one who finds it in
Chretien de Troyes'
version.
Believed to have
originated from a
Welsh tale.

11. Gawain
The nephew of Arthur,
as he is the son of
Morgause.
Mentioned very early in
the legend, as he can
be found in ancient
Welsh sources.
Said to be a symbol of
virtue, and a defender
of the poor.

12. Tristan
Originated from
Cornish Folklore.
Mainly known for the
standalone tale called
Tristan and Iseult, in
which he falls deeply
in love with Iseult, an
Irish princess.
Described as a skilled
archer and a close
friend of the King.

13. Bedivere
Fearless knight, and
King Arthur trusted
adviser
In some versions, he is the
one who puts the dying
king on the boat to
Avalon, and brings back
Excalibur to the Lady of
the Lake.
Very wise in the ways
of science.

14. Merlin
The court wizard, or
druid in some
versions.
He is remembered for
being the king's
mentor and spiritual
guide.
First written about in
welsh legends.

15. Morgause
Arthur's step-sister,
more or less a witch.
Married to King Lot of
Orkney, and mother
of Gawain.
