P3: outline how consumers are protected in contracts for the sale of goods Using the phone contract
selected in P1 and focusing on the customers this briefing sheet will provide an explanation of how a
contract protects the customers and what happens if that contract is breached. Definition of Goods:
Goods are any form of products that are supplied to consumers for their convenience. They are
generally modelled as having diminishing marginal utility. Ultimately, whether an object is a good or a
bad depends on each individual consumer and therefore, it is important to realize that not all goods are
good all the time and not all goods are goods to all people. Sourced:

There is an implied condition for this was they are fit for the particular purpose, this means that the
buyer (consumer) has expressly or impliedly known to the seller. Satisfactory quality: The satisfactory
quality is where the sellers sell goods for the good of their business; there is an implied term that the
goods that is supplied are of the right satisfactory quality. However except to the extent of defects
which are brought straight to the buyer s attention, this will be done before the contract is made
meaning that T Mobile will need to sell satisfactory quality to their consumers. Conclusion: Overall in
the briefing sheet I have made sure that all evidence is provided, also that a clear explanation is made
of how a contract protects the consumer and what happens if that contract is breached. Mainly
information is suggested on the different conditions made by the sales of goods act such as title,
description, fitness for purpose and also satisfactory quality. Factors that invalidate contracts: There
are many factors that can make a contract invalidated, which means that the contracts cannot be used
anymore, such as the following: Misrepresentation: Misrepresentation is where there is a false
statement in the contract which is made by one of the parties to the

Response To Stress
When it comes to the factors that influence our response to stress, there are many and it involves many
and multiple organs and glands controlling both the endocrine and nervous system. These two systems
coordinate and communicate to make sure that our bodies know how to effectively deal with
challenges, but not so much to the point of hyper arousal or otherwise incapacitating anxiety. However
the act of balancing the two is tricky and both our brain and body do not always get it right. This
arousal though is necessary to ready our bodies for taking action. As we become more aware in
response to our stressors, our attention sharpens and our alertness increases. Meanwhile other aspects
fade into the background, such as the environment. The narrowed

Outdoor Research Paper
The Wild World Of Outdoor Gear Ads Some outdoor advertisers will have the reader believe that
humans have been trying to return to the life of a feral predator ever since the day Homo Habilis used
a rock to kill a mole and, in doing so, invented the tool. (Livescience, 2016) Others have portrayed the
great outdoors as this awesome getaway place that is wild enough to have a campfire and necessitate
the use of a camper trailer but not so wild that they aren t able to dress in casual businesswear and
have perfectly groomed hair. Of course, there is a reason for both of these extremes in advertisements.
The range of people who buy outdoor gear is extremely broad. At one end of the spectrum are the
people who wake up from their monotonous ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Two of them have thick black beards, the other two don t. The guy in the middle is holding an elk
skull, complete with antlers. All the guys in the picture are looking at the camera and therefore the
viewer of the image. This camera angle is clearly meant to convey an image of power. The words in
the left corner, written in sharp but not altogether domineering font, are the name of the product (UA
Ridge Reaper) and a quick description: Never detected. Always lethal. There s a lot going on in this ad
that contributes to the feeling that these guys are silent, undetectable slayers of elk. They are natural
born predators whose weapons are extensions of their very bodies. They all have some kind of Under
Armor product on, which is clearly a grab at your subconscious. Even if you don t stop and read the
ad, you ll associate the UA logo with burly hunters and a pile of elk antlers. If you re big into elk
hunting, any product that piles up the antlers is a product that you want to buy. The sepia filter used on
the picture almost creates a kind of aged effect, even though all their gear is very modern. This,
combined with the fact that they re in Arizona or New Mexico or somewhere in that area, creates a
feeling of the wild west. As for the burly guys who are exercising their second amendment rights?

Australia s Involvement For The Australian War
During the Second World War over a seven month period between July 1942 and January 1943, the
events of the Kokoda Trail Campaign and the Battle of the Beachheads took place on what was once
the Australian territories of Papua and New Guinea. Good morning, I am Lee Varnes, and I am
representing the Australian War Memorial to inform you of the significance of Australia s involvement
in the Papua Campaign. I will be discussing the reasons behind Japan s invasion of Papua, the course
of the campaign, the outcome of the campaign and the significance it had on the Australian people and
the soldiers involved.
Port Moresby was an extremely important tactical position for both allied forces and the Japanese; as
it would allow Japan to fulfil Operation FS and allow allied forces to attack north over the Kokoda
trail towards the Japanese base at Rabaul (Austrialian Goverment: Department of Veterans Affairs,
2015). Through the completion of Operation FS, the Japanese would be able to throttle Australia into
submission by cutting off communication and supply lines with the US , they planned to do so through
the gradual extension of Japanese control over the islands in the South East Pacific around continental
Australia (Pacific War Historical Society, n.d.). Japanese Prime Minister, Tojo Hideki, was opposed to
the direct amphibious invasion of Australia, though with Port Moresby under Japanese control it
would allow them to terrorise Australia s eastern coast as Japanese medium

The Effects Of Technology On Children s Children
It damaged our kids! No, it helped them! These are the common arguments between adults about
using technology for their children. Both have good points, however, it depends which angle they are
looked at. There are different positive and negative views of technology regarding a child s social
skills, education, creativity, and health. Every morning, to keep a toddler from bothering the family or
babysitter, adults turn on the television on, directly to an educational channel, such as PBS Kids or
Sprout. When they watch more of these kinds of TV shows, it will eventually lead to the young child
talk back to the TV, building their communication among their families, or with others as well. As
some parents have found, kids who watch a lot of appropriate TV began to speak at an earlier age than
those who watch less TV. It is not only TV that brings these skills to a child. Educational and apps
which kids repeat after, also play a role in a child s speech. Older kids, on the other hand, do not rely
on TV and educational apps for social skills. Instead, they use social media to keep in touch with the
world. They build up the courage to express themselves by, for example, posting or commenting on
Facebook. Once they get comfortable being themselves online, it becomes easier to do so in real life.
(Caruso) Although parents often complain about their child not leaving the house to talk to people in
the real world, most of them are complaining for the wrong purposes. Some teens

The Start of America s Industrial Revolution Essay
The Industrial Revolution did not start simultaneously around the world, but began in the most highly
civilized and educated country in Western Europe England. An empire like Great Britain was able to
prevent the flow of new technology and experienced technicians to its colonies even while new
machinery, like the spinning shuttle and the spinning jenny, was being used to develop textile
manufacturing at home in England. The British Parliament was able to control its territories through
laws and other restrictions. However, Britain s futile attempts to block the development of new
technologies in the American colonies led directly to the rise of the textile industry and the beginning
of the Industrial Revolution in the United States. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Navigation Acts forbade the American colonies to manufacture any finished goods, and these acts
defined anyone living within the British colonies as an English subject. The purpose of the Navigation
Acts was duel: to protect British shipping against competition from the Dutch, as well as from other
powerful foreign countries, and to grant a British monopoly on colonial produce, such as tobacco and
sugar, to the English merchants. Under these acts, the American colonists were limited to buying only
British goods and could only import and export goods in English ships rather than in their own vessels
(Balik). In addition to the Navigation Acts, the British also passed the Trade Acts, which were to
ensure that the entire British Empire was prosperous and that the trade of the various colonies was
complimentary to each other and to Britain. The British Parliament enacted additional acts that
became known as the Intolerable Acts. Colonists resisted the passage of the Stamp Act and Townshend
Acts, which ultimately resulted in the ever famous Boston Tea Party and an organized colonial boycott
of British goods. However, the British Parliament did not give up its right to tax its colonies.
Furthermore, Great Britain was able to prevent the flow of new technology to the American colonies
even while new machinery was being used to develop and enhance textile manufacturing in England.
This was due to the British parliament s outlaw of the emigration of any textile mechanics

Letting Go
Letting go. It is difficult for us in so many ways and on so many levels. Yet life calls upon us to do it,
over and over again. Letting go is part of our growth process. We cannot move on to the new while
continuing to cling to the old. There come times, in the context of love and romance, when we must
learn to let go. For some of us, as described in the song, we must let go of a past romantic relationship.
Maybe the relationship was not meant to be: perhaps it was hurtful to us, or perhaps it was hindering
the personal or spiritual growth of one or both partners. In this case, even when there may still be
feelings of passion, or attraction, or just the comfort of the familiar, we must be strong in letting go of
something that is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Often adult children who have lost a parent before working through interpersonal issues, or before
having an opportunity to say goodbye, have difficulty letting go of unresolved issues or guilt.
Sometimes we may need to go for some counseling or do a ritual (some act with personal meaning) to
allow us to release these emotions. Many of us have trouble letting go of old ways of viewing people
who have been part of our lives for an extended period of time. They may be changing, and yet we do
not let go of viewing them in the same way, and/or we try to discourage that change. We refuse to let
go of the labeling, categorizing, and pre set expectations we have of those we know, and of ourselves.
This seems particularly true of many parents of teenage or young adult children. Many parents have a
difficult time letting go of them as children, and allowing them to grow up. It is hard for parents to
make that transition from treating their children as kids, to treating them as adults and more like
friends. Many of these same parents have trouble letting go of viewing themselves, primarily, in the
role of parent. For instance, some mothers are afraid to let their kids become grownups, because they
are afraid to let go of their own identity as mother. They have become so identified with that one role,
that they no longer are sure who they are, outside of that role. When we refuse to let go of old ways of
identifying and viewing ourselves and others,

Pride and Prejudice V Bride and Prejudice
The way of life in this modern society has developed itself over hundreds of years. Still, however
changed, the values of today s society remain from the period of Regency England. Regency England,
being the super power of the world in the 18th century, imposed the morals and ethics upon the world
as they did their own country, where people were expected to abide by. Jane Austen illustrates the
values of this prejudiced society through Pride and Prejudice, which involved the role of women as a
major, governing over their marriages for economic sustainability and their lack of authority. Austen s
controversial novel was adapted into a feature film which presented the real and gritty society as how
it truly was during the time of Regency ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These values have driven the simple and traditional women of India to marry even without the factor
of love, as depicted in the transformation where Chandra Lamba (Charlotte s parallel) manages to
disappoint Lalita just as how Charlotte disappointed Elizabeth. While Lalita discusses with Johnny
Wickham (Lieutenant Wickham s counterpart) over Chandra s acceptance of Mr. Kholi, Johnny
comments that people do horrible things for money and a Green Card, too this note is of course, ironic
on Wickham s part as it was he who impregnated William Darcy s younger sister, Georgina in order
shame her family into marrying Georgina off to him to obtain her inheritance. Nevertheless, Chandra
once again portrays the women s desperate need to marry in order to acquire a comfortable living in a
country that offers more opportunities than one of binding traditions. Chandra s predicament in Bride
and Prejudice represents perfectly how the morals and ethics of Regency England still affect parts of
the world and have modelled their principles from their own.
The fact that women rely so dearly on marriage demonstrates what little power they hold over their
own wellbeing and status. In Pride and Prejudice, circumstances have left it so that women held
absolutely no authority at all, as women, at the time, were simply

Dual Task Study
Driving while focused on other tasks may cause increased traffic mishaps and accidents. Information
processing of parallel processing systems suffers from bottlenecks, and may have implications in
information processing which may be the case with the use of cell phones causing distractions while
people are driving (Anderson, 2015). A bottleneck within central cognition stream is a central
bottleneck and may cause significant effects while trying to think about two things at the same time
(Anderson, 2015). As tasks are practiced they become more automatic, there seems to need less
processing in central cognition. According to a Strayer and Johnston s published study in 2001, Driven

Conventional Versus Traditional Methods Of Treatment On...
Conventional versus Traditional Methods of Treatment on Psychotic Patients
Introduction
The following reading will present the discussion about cognitive behavioral therapy and how if in
any way, improves the quality of life of patients living with schizophrenia when compared to
conventional pharmacological treatments. Schizophrenia is a debilitating disease that can impact all
areas of an individual life. Even with the use of many therapies available there is room to investigate
which forms of treatment improve the quality of their life. Relapses are high despite all the efforts
made to treat schizophrenia. Increasing evidence suggests that individuals with schizophrenia do best
with a combination of pharmacological and psychosocial intervention (Addington and Lecomte 2012).
Recent traditional cognitive behavioral therapy has been shown to improve the positive and negative
symptoms associated with psychotic patients even when they are compliant with pharmacological
medications. Nurses must integrate the best evidence based treatments shown in practice in order to
care and monitor patients who are schizophrenic thought their lifespan.
Population
Statistical data shows that schizophrenia can be found in one percent of the world s population. The
disorder is partially genetic and occurs usually among young adults, although it can also be developed
later in life. Certain stressors and triggers have been found to increase the risks of developing
schizophrenia. As a result many

Shuttle Services in the National Park System In 2016, 330,971,689 visited the fifty eight national

visitors, there are some major negative impacts to the delicate ecosystems in each park. After visiting
seven of our National Parks and seeing the mass amounts of people and traffic on public lands, I

According to a study done by the National Park Service, there is estimated to be well over ten
thousand vehicular wildlife collisions over a recent eighteen year time period. With a more
anthropogenic viewpoint, less open space for parking, congested trails, and the inability to leisurely
drive through many of the national park system s scenic routes due to traffic are just a few
inconveniences to the visitor s experience. There are many ways to combat these negative implications
of the increased outdoor tourism. A few proposed solutions to these impacts are to set a cap on
attendance at each park, implementation of more trash and recycling bins throughout the parks and
trails, and more education for visitors to the parks on land use ethics like leave no trace. Overall, the
most effective solution to combat these negative effects is a shuttle service throughout the park. .
Transit services (e.g., public bus service) are a component of the overall park transportation system
and are very desirable in park settings as they yield many advantages over personal auto access
including reduced congestion in parking areas, a reduced carbon footprint, and an enhanced visitor
experience. (Monz. et al.) Shuttle services decrease traffic throughout the park s roads, opening up
parking space and overall reducing congestion. In a study done by the Park and Recreation

Descriptive Essay On Dystopia
Dystopian Setting
The city that once had homed thousands and been the most economically successful country ever, was
now a contaminated wasteland. The land looked dry, destroyed and lonely. The morning breeze felt
like crying sorrows, and the grey deceitful sky awed down at us. In the deepest corner of despair lies
dystopia where hope dies. As someone looks through the eyes of the devil, they see his utopia. Only
visible by the dim light of the moon was the great wall. Beyond the wall? No one knew. Stretching
away from the wall was a humongous bridge that towered the wall. Standing tall on the bridge was a
tower, which had two circles that almost looked like eyes. Those mysterious, creepy and dangerous
looking eyes stared down at the city giving away a haunting look.
The reek of death hangs in the air throughout the land. Filling the mouths of those who lived in this
abandoned land was the taste of burnt garlic. The screams and cries of terror undistinguishable
between beast and human fill the ears of the last ones living. The sky, which was lit by the glow of

Aggressively, the wind walked past the building with its cruddy feeling, blowing away all signs of life.

Confession Session By Elie Wiesel
Confession Session
Elie Wiesel is a young, teenage, Jewish boy involuntarily placed in Nazi concentration camps. The
concentration camps tested Elie s sincerity of his faith. All of the inhumane events, destruction, and
absent childhood, forced a method of non belief on Elie and his fellow beings. In Elie Wiesel s Night,
faith is seen as a controversial topic, and challenged throughout the beginning, middle, and end of the
story.
For the first time, I felt anger rising within me. Why should I sanctify His name. The Almighty, the
eternal and terrible Master of the universe, chose to be silent. What was there to thank him for?

The boy struggled due to the non strategically placed rope. This sight caused confusion and fear
among the prisoners. After Elie witnessed the awful hanging of his fellow peers, he lost all belief in
the god he once worshipped. And in spite of myself, a prayer formed inside me, a prayer to god in
whom I no longer believed. (Wiesel,67)
At this point in the story, Elie rarely showed the slightest glimpse or belief in a higher power. He
started to decline in hope and questioned every move of his father and all of the prisoners he gazed
upon. An example of this rare occasion is when they are running in chapter six and seven. Elie
witnessed a split of father and son without realizing that the son intentionally left his father in the dust.
He later met a Rabbi who lost his son while they were running. Rabbi Eliahou fathered the son that
Elie watched disappear into the group. Rabbi Eliahou did not realize that his son gave up on him and
continued on without him. Elie vowed that he would never leave his father in the way that Rabbi
Eliahou s son left him. Oh god, Master of the Universe, give me the strength never to do what Rabbi
Eliahou s son has done ( Wiesel,87 ). Elie did not realize that with that statement he planted a seed of
religion in his garden. It may seem acute but this monumental part caused the reaction of the

S-D Logic Model Case Study
Table 1: Service dominant logic foundational premises (Koehler, 2011) Malciute (2012) said in her
study citing Brodie et al (2011B) that four of these underlying S D logic premises (numbers 6, 8, 9 and
10) have been found as of particular relevance and builds a solid conceptual foundation in explaining
the conceptual roots of consumer engagement. According to her, together the four premises imply that
value is not something embedded in the product, but the benefit that the consumer gets out of using
the product instead. This suggests that the consumer experiences of the co creative and interactive
nature taking place in complex relational environments may actually be viewed as the act of engaging
. Hence, considering Varey Ballentyne s discussion of the S D logic model and that of Malciute s
(2012) use of the model in her study, it can be said that consumers perceived value of the product can
be derived only if they know the benefit they will get from it. This will only be possible if there is a
point of interaction where communication between the consumers and business organization will be
established and information exchange will occur. This interaction can now spark the engagement
process that will lead to positive behaviors of consumers toward a product or service. ... Show more

Types of Cataract Surgery
Cataract surgery is among the most common procedures performed in older people and is one of the
oldest procedures known. It is done due to the lens becoming cloudy and leads to the vision being
affected. This happens when proteins in the lens clump together causing the cloudy area to become
larger, affecting vision more over time. The most common cause is age related, but it could also be
due to other reasons such as traumatic, diabetic, radiation, secondary and congenital.
The first type of cataract treatment done was known as couching. This technique could only be
performed on lenses that were completely opaque, rigid and heavy to the point where the zonules were
fragile. The eye would then be struck with a blunt object with enough force to cause the zonules to
break causing the lens to dislocate and lie in the vitreous cavity, restoring limited, completely
unfocussed vision. Centuries later, this technique was modified where a sharp instrument was inserted
into the eye to break the zonules.
In 1748, the first surgical cataract removal occurred in Paris. Topical anesthetic was instilled and an
incision was made that went halfway around the cornea and the entire opaque lens was removed. It
was important that the lens was ripened meaning completely hardened so that the lens would not break
into pieces when being removed. Thus this surgery was restricted to only the most advanced cataracts.
Fine sutures weren t available at that time so patients were immobilized with

In the war, many young boys lost their lives; not long later after the war, a flu epidemic broke out in
the US killing millions of young men and women. After the tragedies, the youth began to celebrate
mortality, fun, money, and youth and the flappers did just that. Flappers were radical women who didn

They rebelled against gender roles and did what was considered immoral for women and norms for
men; they drank alcohol, smoke cigarette, listened and danced to jazz music, flirted, and drove a car.
But most importantly, they made their own money. Though the original idea of flappers were poor
working girls who waited for someone to marry them, the standard quickly changed. Flappers became
women who wanted to make their own money and didn t want to marry man to support them. Flappers

theory, it is indispensable to apply this to the novels of Doris Lessing. The novels of Lessing are
written mostly about women who lived in the colonial countries and have experienced the problems of
the colonizer and repercussion of colonization. The novels chosen for this research are The Grass is
Singing, The Golden Notebook and The Children of Violence series. The projected thesis aims to
study the hidden injuries of a class which is hurt by the so called rulers. It is the aim of the scholar to
bring out the elements which reveal the dignity of the oppressed, and the economism and politics of
the author as externalized in the selected novels. The main aim is to study the elements hegemony in
these novels. There is great evidence that can be culled from these novels about the fragmented
societies where gender, race and class determine the destiny of people. The author uses a conventional

Animals In Miss Julie Quotes
Symbolic Significance of Animals in Miss Julie by August Strindberg
The petty man conducts himself like an animal, yet wants others to think well of him.
Xun Zi
Animals are the most basic form of human nature; they act without the external pressures of a society,
unlike humans. All animals have a variety of both positive and negative connotations, such as the
powerful yet wild eagle, and it is in a humans primitive nature to behave as they do. Miss Julie by
August Strindberg tells the story of two protagonists in Sweden during the 19th century. Through the
play, the social, historical and cultural context is portrayed as Strindberg addresses both gender and
social conflicts. Animalistic references are habitually placed as a tool ... Show more content on

There are numerous shifts in power throughout the play, mainly conveyed through the use of dogs and
hawks. An example of this is the repetitive use of the word command . At the start of the play, Jean
states that he is At your command, Miss Julie , relating to the dog motif as it is a common connotation
of a dog to take commands from their master. Here, the dog motif is used to symbolise Miss Julie s
power over Jean. However, later this becomes complicated as Jean realises that the hawk s back was
as grey as its front; this statement insinuates that Miss Julie is not as noble and substantial as her
character alludes. This is proceeding the sexual encounter between the two characters and relates to
the falling dream of Miss Julie, as she has not only fallen in terms of virginity and honour, but also in
her perception by others, causing her to transform from the powerful hawk to the meek greenfinch.
Later, Miss Julie attempts to regain her power, You dog, who wears my collar, but again succumbs to
her natural less powerful state as a woman as she asks Jean to, Order me and I ll obey like a dog. The
constant shifts of power is also symbolic of their near equal social standings according to naturalistic

The Invention Of Inkjet Printing
The concept of inkjet printing originated in the 20th century, and the technology was first extensively
developed in the early 1950s. Starting in the late 1970s inkjet printers that could reproduce digital
images generated by computers were developed, mainly by Epson, Hewlett Packard (HP), and Canon.
Although inkjet printers only appeared on the consumer market in the late 1980s, they had been under
development for more than twenty years by that time. In the mid 1970s, printer companies realized the
potential of the technology that would make dot matrix printers obsolete. The challenge, however, was
to come up with a way to create an affordable inkjet printer that would reliably create high quality
print outs .In the worldwide consumer market, four manufacturers account for the majority of inkjet
printer sales: Canon, HP, Epson, and Lexmark, a 1991 spin off from IBM.[1]( IBM Archives: 1990s .

The continuous ink jet method is used commercially for marking and coding of products and
packages. The first patent on the idea is from 1867, by William Thomson. The first commercial model
was introduced in 1951 by Siemens. In continuous ink jet technology, a high pressure pump directs
liquid ink from a reservoir through a microscopic nozzle, creating a continuous stream of ink droplets.
A piezoelectric crystal causes the stream of liquid to break into droplets at regular intervals. The ink

Scientific Method Essay
Scientific method what comes to mind? Do we start thinking of some type of formal process that will
answer all our scientific questions or problems? When I was in school many years ago, we were taught
that scientists go through a series of steps to find a solution to a problem or find evidence to support or
disprove a theory. It all seemed rather cold, and formal. Going back to school, school has taught me
that science has undergone significant changes and has moved away from the rigidity of a fixed series
of steps in what was formerly called the scientific method. I think the best way to describe what helps
me understand scientific method, is trying to shed some light on the uncertainties through ... Show

What I have found is that a lot of research on adult learner has been done only performed recently. If
we go back to the first half of the twenty first century, organization theory was dominated by
classicists who viewed organizations as rational systems and valued efficient operations above all.
They promoted the idea that management is a process of planning, organization, command,

concept spawned the modern bureaucracy. (Morgan, 1997a) Morgan s points out those organizations
could be considered cold and dehumanizing, so we are suppose to think of organizations as machines?

Essay On Implicit Authentication
There are several efforts done to give solutions for restrictions on the implicit authentication. These
efforts will be discussed in this section. Traditional authentication methods depend on possession of
private data (i.e. passwords, pattern). Also, physiological biometrics based on algorithms that use
distinct personal features, such as fingerprints or iris patterns. Lately, behavior based authentication
uses the private behavior for users, e.g., gestures and gaits. Currently, there are many different
physiological biometrics for authentication, such as fingerprints and face patterns [2], and iris patterns

must enter gesture in any direction to build user s model to be matched later through a score

framework.
Jain et al. [11] suggested an algorithm to compare the Equal Error Rates(EER) obtained from the
touch screen sensor with the rates of keystrokes in hardware keyboard. A developed keyboard
application replaces the system keyboard to capture features in any application that uses a keyboard.
The features are then stored in a SQLite database and classified by a one class SVM. This method
achieved EER of 10.5% for keystroke data, 3.5% for touch data and 2.8% for all data (touch and
keystroke). However, Additional sensors on the devices, such as gyroscopic and rotational sensors, are
ignored in this study. These sensors could differentiate accurately touch data from the keyboard timing
data.
Feng Yao el al [12] have proposed and evaluated a Fuzzy Logic based implicit authentication scheme
for mobile access control. That can maintain a high recognition of legal user activities while enabling
timely detection of adversary user behavior by feeding dynamically computed aggregate score and
threshold based parameters into Fuzzy Logic system to determine the trust status of current user
activity. The proposed Fuzzy Logic based authentication

The Role Of Hardware And Software Improved Over Time
Since the release of Donkey Kong in 1981, platforming based video games have been concerned with
reaching a goal. From the early 1980s to the late 1990s, obtaining the objective fell under a linear, two
point process. For example, in Super Mario Bros, the player must guide the plumber to a flagpole in
order to complete a level. Once the player completes the thirty second stage, he achieves the
substantial goal of saving the princess. In contrast to the Mega Man series, the hero must annihilate
eight robot masters before defeating a diabolical, mad scientist. Essentially, the player is tasked to
complete an underlying objective before moving to the ultimate goal. However, as the aspects of

the first run followed by a summary of the second run. In the first run, Lola starts by running out of
her apartment building via an animated sequence, passing a man and his dog. Then, the film
transitions back to live action, where Lola is sprinting on the streets. Suddenly, she bumps into a

due to distracted driving. While Lola rushes into the bank, her father asks a mistress if he wants to

for one hundred thousand German marks. However, in this one scene alone, Lola meets the mistress,

Herpes Simplex Virus Analysis
Herpes simplex virus is epidemic in the United States; however, precise statistics are unknown as it is
not a reportable disease and 50 70% of recurrent infections are asymptomatic (McCance, Huether,
Brashers, 2014, p. 932). Furthermore, it is estimated that 80% of infected individuals do not know that
they are positive for HSV (McCance et al., 2014, p. 932) There are two serotypes of the virus: HSV 1
and HSV 2. HSV 2 is what commonly causes genital herpes and recurring infections (McCance et al.,
2014). HSV 1 more commonly causes cold sores but there is increased incidence of genital herpes
caused by HSV 1 due to transmission during oral sex (however, this could be due to increased
screening and testing rather than a rise in oral sex rates) (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
[CDC], 2015). HSV is transmitted by mucosal contact with an individual who has a lesion that is
shedding the herpes virus; however, the virus can also be transmitted when an individual who is
infected with HSV is shedding the virus asymptomatically and this is presumed to be when most
transmission occurs (McCance et al., 2014, p. 933). A 22 year old female comes to your primary care

The Arab-Israeli Conflict In The 1800s
The Arab Israeli conflict has been an ongoing issue from the 1800s. The conflict is based on the
struggle for land for both the Jews and the Arabs. When the 1947 partition plan was established by the
United Nations to split Palestine into two states, the Palestinian Arab people ended up with less land
than the Jewish (Jewish 56 percent and Arabs 43 percent of Palestine). This decision lead to war
between the two groups, meaning that there was no peace. The Arabs have been through a lot since the

Prospero s Magic In The Tempest
Vindication of Prospero s Magic by Shakespeare in The Tempest
Introduction
The Tempest is generally considered as Shakespeare s romantic and dramatic art. It also counted as
one of Shakespeare s most professional plays. It is also regarded Shakespeare s final play that he
wrote. It represents Prospero, the magician, who gives up his magic in the last part of the play. The
occasion for The Tempest was Shakespeare s expectation of his retirement. In many ways it is the
decisive moment of Shakespeare s art. In the play s final scene, Prospero used his power to attract and
show when he gives up the magic. Shakespeare showed evil, tragedy and suffering as part of a magic
based plan that ended in regret, forgiveness, love and recovery of that which was lost. During the fall

It may be noted that Prospero otherwise resembles a magician of the middle ages. He is equipped with
his books, his wand and his robe. He is also afraid of the damnation that a magician incurs by his
practice of magic. So in the epilogue Prospero solicits the goodwill and prayers of the audience:
Unless I be relieved by prayer, which pierces so that it assails, mercy itself and frees all faults (V, i, 16

The power is Ariel s and the other island spirits. Prospero s magic lies in his power to use language to
convince others to believe in him and do his request. On the island, he becomes master of the monster
Caliban (the son of Sycorax, a malevolent witch) and forces Caliban into submission by torturing him
with magic if he does not obey him, and Ariel, an elemental who is beholden to Prospero after he is
freed from his prison inside a tree.
However, at the end of the play, Prospero intends to drown his book and gives up magic. In the view
of the audience, this may have been required to make the ending unambiguously happy, as magic
delivered too much of extremely cruel works; and he will drown his

The Effects Of Helicopter Parenting On Young Adults Who...
Helicopter parenting is the over use or excessive use of parental guidance thought to generate a slower
progression of emotional maturity and physical wellbeing in young adults. The methods used in this
review include examining previous literature and current studies on this issue of helicopter parenting.
The purpose of this review is to establish the measure of autonomy and mental wellbeing in young
adults who are entering college for the first time.
This literary review looks at the long term effects of helicopter parenting. While parental involvement
is clearly linked to positive traits in children, can over parenting produce negative outcomes? Issues
that have been related to helicopter parenting include a lack of autonomy and satisfaction with life,
increased stress, anxiety and depression and overall poor coping skills (Schiffrin et al., 2013). Perhaps
if a link between the issues listed above and helicopter parenting can be proven, then a way to correct
or reverse the issue can also be identified.
The current research and studies on the effects of helicopter parenting are being pioneered by Chris
Segrin of Arizona State University. In one article titled Maternal Care and Control as Mediators in the
Relationship between Mothers and Adult Children s Psychosocial Problems, Segrin and his colleagues
investigate the relationship between mothers and adult children s psychosocial problems. This article

EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON STRENGTH AND WORKABILITY OF CEMENT MATERIALS
USING MAGNESIUM SILICATE HYDRATE BINDER SYSTEM
H. M. Tran, A. Scott
1,2University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand
There has been increasing studies on magnesium silicate hydrate binder system as an eco cement and
its potential use for nuclear waste immobilization. The cementing properties and workability of
cement paste and mortar using magnesium silicate hydrate binder were examined by compressive
strength, flow test and scanning electron microscopy. The binder composition was proposed based on
stoichiometric ratio. The results showed that magnesium silicate hydrate binder exhibits very high
water demand due to containing high microfine content of amorphous silica (silica fume). However, it
is possible to produce workable mixes at normal water to binder ratio (w/cm=0.40 and below) by use
of polycarboxylate based superplasticizer. Crushed quartz with smooth texture and particle size
coarser than magnesium and silica fume was used as fillers to form ternary system. Use of crushed
quartz fillers contributes to water reduction and improves packing density, hence increases strength of
magnesium silicate hydrate binder system. Mortar samples of the binder containing 40% magnesium
oxide, 40% silica fume (Mg/Si molar ratio = 1.50) and 20% crushed quartz fillers resulted in
encouraging compressive strength of up to 70 MPa.

Asian Immigrants And The American Dream
The American Dream, a belief that draws immigrants to the US with the hope being able to work hard
for a better life. One of the groups that believe in this dream are Asian Immigrants. Children of these
Asian immigrants have a unique expectation to live up to. Their parents came to America in search of

excellence the Asian students emits, university acceptance is another story. Articles like The model

The Ibo Culture Of Chinua Achebe s Things Fall Apart
Cultures each have their own set of beliefs and morals and quite often these beliefs and morals vary
greatly between each culture. Commonly, a culture has its own rules for women. The Ibo culture of
Chinua Achebe s Things Fall Apart is one that gives its women power. They get their power through
their roles as mothers and their contributions to their religion. Great power is also given to the women
through the parts they play in agriculture for the clan. The women in Ibo society are misunderstood
when their own African culture is compared to modern Western culture. The power given to the Ibo
women, in the form of motherhood, is often overlooked due to the comparison, whereas by the Ibo,
women are viewed as the foundation of the clan and its people (Hiatt). The women play educator in
the Ibo villages. They pass on the morals, beliefs, and stories of the clan. This means that the women
are pivotal to the literal survival of the community and social norms (Strong Leek). It would be true to
say that women in Western society also have this power; however, the power is not to the same degree.
The Ibo women are viewed mainly as child bearers (Strong Leek), therefore the Ibo children spend
nearly all of their early childhood moments with their mothers. The lack of significant outside
interaction means that these mothers control nearly all aspects of their children s development. The
mothers share stories that teach important lessons about the human condition (Hiatt) which

Reinsurance Essay
Describe the role of the reinsurance industry. Give examples from recent events of the importance of

Jack Nolan (09006300)
1. Introduction:
What is reinsurance? Why do insurance companies go through the process of insuring policies before
transferring them to other entities? Reinsurance is a method which involves insurers insuring their
own respective risks with reinsurance firms. Firstly, an important function of reinsurance is to ensure
that the insurance operations of company s doesn t eventually lead to detrimental financial losses.
Catastrophes, unexpected liabilities, and a series of large losses that might be too great for an
individual insurer to absorb can be handled through reinsurance (McIsaac and Babbel ... Show more

Also from time to time insurance companies are offered the opportunity to insure risks that are very
large or complex or simply unusual. In these situations facultative reinsurance is the best alternative
(Wehrhahn 2009).Secondly, treaty reinsurance was devised to solve some of the adverse features of
the facultative method. The treaty method is highly popular mainly because it is not as cumbersome or
as time consuming as the facultative method (Irukwu 1982). Treaty reinsurance involves the
negotiations between the insurance company and reinsurer before creating a reinsurance contract.
Under a treaty reinsurance arrangement all risks that are defined to be object of the agreement are
ceded automatically to the reinsurer, and the reinsurer agrees to accept all those risks (Wehrhahn

Outdoor Research Paper The Wild World Of Outdoor Gear Ads Some outdoor advertisers will have the reader believe that humans have been trying to return to the life of a feral predator ever since the day Homo Habilis used a rock to kill a mole and, in doing so, invented the tool. Australia s Involvement For The Australian War During the Second World War over a seven month period between July 1942 and January 1943, the events of the Kokoda Trail Campaign and the Battle of the Beachheads took place on what was once the Australian territories of Papua and New Guinea. Good morning, I am Lee Varnes, and I am representing the Australian War Memorial to inform you of the significance of Australia s involvement in the Papua Campaign. I will be discussing the reasons behind Japan s invasion of Papua, the course of the campaign, the outcome of the campaign and the significance it had on the Australian people and the soldiers involved. Port Moresby was an extremely important tactical position for both allied forces and the Japanese; as it would allow Japan to fulfil Operation FS and allow allied forces to attack north over the Kokoda trail towards the Japanese base at Rabaul (Austrialian Goverment: Department of Veterans Affairs, 2015). Through the completion of Operation FS, the Japanese would be able to throttle Australia into submission by cutting off communication and supply lines with the US , they planned to do so through the gradual extension of Japanese control over the islands in the South East Pacific around continental Australia (Pacific War Historical Society, n.d.). Japanese Prime Minister, Tojo Hideki, was opposed to the direct amphibious invasion of Australia, though with Port Moresby under Japanese control it would allow them to terrorise Australia s eastern coast as Japanese medium ... • 6. The Effects Of Technology On Children s Children It damaged our kids! No, it helped them! These are the common arguments between adults about using technology for their children. Both have good points, however, it depends which angle they are looked at. There are different positive and negative views of technology regarding a child s social skills, education, creativity, and health. Every morning, to keep a toddler from bothering the family or babysitter, adults turn on the television on, directly to an educational channel, such as PBS Kids or Sprout. When they watch more of these kinds of TV shows, it will eventually lead to the young child talk back to the TV, building their communication among their families, or with others as well. As some parents have found, kids who watch a lot of appropriate TV began to speak at an earlier age than those who watch less TV. It is not only TV that brings these skills to a child. Educational and apps which kids repeat after, also play a role in a child s speech. Older kids, on the other hand, do not rely on TV and educational apps for social skills. Instead, they use social media to keep in touch with the world. They build up the courage to express themselves by, for example, posting or commenting on Facebook. Once they get comfortable being themselves online, it becomes easier to do so in real life. (Caruso) Although parents often complain about their child not leaving the house to talk to people in the real world, most of them are complaining for the wrong purposes. Some teens ... The Navigation Acts forbade the American colonies to manufacture any finished goods, and these acts defined anyone living within the British colonies as an English subject. The purpose of the Navigation Acts was duel: to protect British shipping against competition from the Dutch, as well as from other powerful foreign countries, and to grant a British monopoly on colonial produce, such as tobacco and sugar, to the English merchants. Under these acts, the American colonists were limited to buying only British goods and could only import and export goods in English ships rather than in their own vessels (Balik). In addition to the Navigation Acts, the British also passed the Trade Acts, which were to ensure that the entire British Empire was prosperous and that the trade of the various colonies was complimentary to each other and to Britain. The British Parliament enacted additional acts that became known as the Intolerable Acts. Colonists resisted the passage of the Stamp Act and Townshend Acts, which ultimately resulted in the ever famous Boston Tea Party and an organized colonial boycott of British goods. We cannot move on to the new while continuing to cling to the old. There come times, in the context of love and romance, when we must learn to let go. For some of us, as described in the song, we must let go of a past romantic relationship. Maybe the relationship was not meant to be: perhaps it was hurtful to us, or perhaps it was hindering the personal or spiritual growth of one or both partners. Often adult children who have lost a parent before working through interpersonal issues, or before having an opportunity to say goodbye, have difficulty letting go of unresolved issues or guilt. Sometimes we may need to go for some counseling or do a ritual (some act with personal meaning) to allow us to release these emotions. Many of us have trouble letting go of old ways of viewing people who have been part of our lives for an extended period of time. They may be changing, and yet we do not let go of viewing them in the same way, and/or we try to discourage that change. We refuse to let go of the labeling, categorizing, and pre set expectations we have of those we know, and of ourselves. This seems particularly true of many parents of teenage or young adult children. Many parents have a difficult time letting go of them as children, and allowing them to grow up. It is hard for parents to make that transition from treating their children as kids, to treating them as adults and more like friends. Many of these same parents have trouble letting go of viewing themselves, primarily, in the role of parent. For instance, some mothers are afraid to let their kids become grownups, because they are afraid to let go of their own identity as mother. They have become so identified with that one role, that they no longer are sure who they are, outside of that role. Jane Austen illustrates the values of this prejudiced society through Pride and Prejudice, which involved the role of women as a major, governing over their marriages for economic sustainability and their lack of authority. Conventional versus Traditional Methods of Treatment on Psychotic Patients Introduction The following reading will present the discussion about cognitive behavioral therapy and how if in any way, improves the quality of life of patients living with schizophrenia when compared to conventional pharmacological treatments. Schizophrenia is a debilitating disease that can impact all areas of an individual life. Even with the use of many therapies available there is room to investigate which forms of treatment improve the quality of their life. Relapses are high despite all the efforts made to treat schizophrenia. Increasing evidence suggests that individuals with schizophrenia do best with a combination of pharmacological and psychosocial intervention (Addington and Lecomte 2012). Recent traditional cognitive behavioral therapy has been shown to improve the positive and negative symptoms associated with psychotic patients even when they are compliant with pharmacological medications. Nurses must integrate the best evidence based treatments shown in practice in order to care and monitor patients who are schizophrenic thought their lifespan. S-D Logic Model Case Study Table 1: Service dominant logic foundational premises (Koehler, 2011) Malciute (2012) said in her study citing Brodie et al (2011B) that four of these underlying S D logic premises (numbers 6, 8, 9 and 10) have been found as of particular relevance and builds a solid conceptual foundation in explaining the conceptual roots of consumer engagement. According to her, together the four premises imply that value is not something embedded in the product, but the benefit that the consumer gets out of using the product instead. This suggests that the consumer experiences of the co creative and interactive nature taking place in complex relational environments may actually be viewed as the act of engaging . Hence, considering Varey Ballentyne s discussion of the S D logic model and that of Malciute s (2012) use of the model in her study, it can be said that consumers perceived value of the product can be derived only if they know the benefit they will get from it. • 19. Types of Cataract Surgery Cataract surgery is among the most common procedures performed in older people and is one of the oldest procedures known. It is done due to the lens becoming cloudy and leads to the vision being affected. This happens when proteins in the lens clump together causing the cloudy area to become larger, affecting vision more over time. The most common cause is age related, but it could also be due to other reasons such as traumatic, diabetic, radiation, secondary and congenital. The first type of cataract treatment done was known as couching. This technique could only be performed on lenses that were completely opaque, rigid and heavy to the point where the zonules were fragile. The eye would then be struck with a blunt object with enough force to cause the zonules to break causing the lens to dislocate and lie in the vitreous cavity, restoring limited, completely unfocussed vision. Centuries later, this technique was modified where a sharp instrument was inserted into the eye to break the zonules. In 1748, the first surgical cataract removal occurred in Paris. Topical anesthetic was instilled and an incision was made that went halfway around the cornea and the entire opaque lens was removed. It was important that the lens was ripened meaning completely hardened so that the lens would not break into pieces when being removed. Thus this surgery was restricted to only the most advanced cataracts. Fine sutures weren t available at that time so patients were immobilized with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Although inkjet printers only appeared on the consumer market in the late 1980s, they had been under development for more than twenty years by that time. In the mid 1970s, printer companies realized the potential of the technology that would make dot matrix printers obsolete. The challenge, however, was to come up with a way to create an affordable inkjet printer that would reliably create high quality print outs .In the worldwide consumer market, four manufacturers account for the majority of inkjet printer sales: Canon, HP, Epson, and Lexmark, a 1991 spin off from IBM.[1]( IBM Archives: 1990s . 03.ibm.com. Lately, behavior based authentication uses the private behavior for users, e.g., gestures and gaits. However, no implementation is done to show accuracy achieved by the proposed framework. Jain et al. [11] suggested an algorithm to compare the Equal Error Rates(EER) obtained from the touch screen sensor with the rates of keystrokes in hardware keyboard. A developed keyboard application replaces the system keyboard to capture features in any application that uses a keyboard. The features are then stored in a SQLite database and classified by a one class SVM. This method achieved EER of 10.5% for keystroke data, 3.5% for touch data and 2.8% for all data (touch and keystroke). Furthermore, it is estimated that 80% of infected individuals do not know that they are positive for HSV (McCance et al., 2014, p. 932) There are two serotypes of the virus: HSV 1 and HSV 2. HSV 2 is what commonly causes genital herpes and recurring infections (McCance et al., 2014). HSV 1 more commonly causes cold sores but there is increased incidence of genital herpes caused by HSV 1 due to transmission during oral sex (however, this could be due to increased screening and testing rather than a rise in oral sex rates) (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [CDC], 2015). HSV is transmitted by mucosal contact with an individual who has a lesion that is shedding the herpes virus; however, the virus can also be transmitted when an individual who is infected with HSV is shedding the virus asymptomatically and this is presumed to be when most transmission occurs (McCance et al., 2014, p. 933). Helicopter parenting is the over use or excessive use of parental guidance thought to generate a slower progression of emotional maturity and physical wellbeing in young adults. The methods used in this review include examining previous literature and current studies on this issue of helicopter parenting. The purpose of this review is to establish the measure of autonomy and mental wellbeing in young adults who are entering college for the first time. This literary review looks at the long term effects of helicopter parenting. While parental involvement is clearly linked to positive traits in children, can over parenting produce negative outcomes? Issues that have been related to helicopter parenting include a lack of autonomy and satisfaction with life, increased stress, anxiety and depression and overall poor coping skills (Schiffrin et al., 2013). Perhaps if a link between the issues listed above and helicopter parenting can be proven, then a way to correct or reverse the issue can also be identified. The current research and studies on the effects of helicopter parenting are being pioneered by Chris Segrin of Arizona State University. Scott 1,2University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand There has been increasing studies on magnesium silicate hydrate binder system as an eco cement and its potential use for nuclear waste immobilization. The cementing properties and workability of cement paste and mortar using magnesium silicate hydrate binder were examined by compressive strength, flow test and scanning electron microscopy. The binder composition was proposed based on stoichiometric ratio. The results showed that magnesium silicate hydrate binder exhibits very high water demand due to containing high microfine content of amorphous silica (silica fume). However, it is possible to produce workable mixes at normal water to binder ratio (w/cm=0.40 and below) by use of polycarboxylate based superplasticizer. Crushed quartz with smooth texture and particle size coarser than magnesium and silica fume was used as fillers to form ternary system. Use of crushed quartz fillers contributes to water reduction and improves packing density, hence increases strength of magnesium silicate hydrate binder system. Mortar samples of the binder containing 40% magnesium oxide, 40% silica fume (Mg/Si molar ratio = 1.50) and 20% crushed quartz fillers resulted in encouraging compressive strength of up to 70 MPa. Firstly, an important function of reinsurance is to ensure that the insurance operations of company s doesn t eventually lead to detrimental financial losses. In these situations facultative reinsurance is the best alternative (Wehrhahn 2009).Secondly, treaty reinsurance was devised to solve some of the adverse features of the facultative method. The treaty method is highly popular mainly because it is not as cumbersome or as time consuming as the facultative method (Irukwu 1982). Treaty reinsurance involves the negotiations between the insurance company and reinsurer before creating a reinsurance contract. Under a treaty reinsurance arrangement all risks that are defined to be object of the agreement are ceded automatically to the reinsurer, and the reinsurer agrees to accept all those risks (Wehrhahn 2009). Reinsurers creating treaties, would not individually analyse each risk related to the treaty. Instead they would review the insurance company in question and base their decision related to the expertise of the company, its risk attitude, its track record, the expected amount of business to be reinsured and other technical aspects (Wehrhahn 2009).
