Wealth In The Gilded Age During The Gilded Age
During the Gilded Age some people were becoming very wealthy and everyone had an opinion on
what they should do with this wealth, also who they should help with this money, and how much
money they should give. This new wealth was not expected and along with it came opinions and
judgment of all economic classes. The opinions range from Social Darwinism, which William
Graham Sumner believed in, to Andrew Carnegie s Gospel of Wealthand to Walter Rauschenbuschs
The Social Gospel. William Graham Sumner was a firm believer in Social Darwinism. Social
Darwinism is the belief in survival of the fittest, so the strongest in society are the ones who
become wealthy. With this wealth Sumner believed that the wealthy should use it to support the
other classes to give them opportunity to become wealthy themselves. According to Sumner If
you get wealth, you will have to support the other people; if you do not get wealth, it will be the
duty of other people to support you. (Sumner) In this quote Sumner is saying that no matter who
the wealthy people are they will have to support the lower class and give them the chance to
become wealthy. Through his ideas of social darwinism he believes that everyone should be given
an equal opportunity to become wealthy and then the strongest in society will become wealthy. He
does not believe that the wealth should stay in the already wealthy families because not every
person in the family will be the strongest in society. Along with this he says We

The Number Of Individuals Who Remain Single
The number of individuals who remain single is continuously growing. In August of 2014, 50.2%
of the adult populace was single in the United States. Comparing to 1976, 37.4% of the adult
populace was single in the United States. The same trend can be seen in Israel. Since 1970, the
number of men who stayed single has doubled and the number of women who stayed single has
tripled (Slonim, Gur Yaish, Katz, 2015). Although the number of individuals who stay single is
growing, undesirable labeling of and judgment against single individuals has been acknowledged in
the United States. In a previous study, American students were asked to designate characteristics of
married people; they defined married couples as more mature, truthful,... Show more content on

Younger single individuals may be seen as capable of eventually finding a partner, while the
likelihood of finding a partner declines with age. In the same study, another moderator tested was
gender. Women are thought of as having a greater longing for marriageand children than men, and
consequently it can be anticipated that the typecasting of single women would be more prominent
than that of single men. Conversely, gender was not found to affect stereotypes of singles. Single
men and women are judged negatively, equally (Slonim, Gur Yaish, Katz, 2015). Previous research
proposed that whether the single individual decides or not to stay single is a significant factor.
Nonetheless, this factor was not tested in earlier research. According to another study, individuals
are encouraged to give a good reason for the present societal, economic and political structures, by
perceiving the norm as just and genuine. These views help decrease doubt and elude intimidating
circumstances. A prediction can be made that singles that decide to stay single are refusing the
norm and induce self protective responses such as undesirable stereotypes (Slonim, Gur Yaish,
Katz, 2015). According to previous research on the feelings toward individuals who could or could
not control their outcomes, one may assume that undesirable emotions such as anger would

Abc s Of Medical Papers
ABC s of Medical Papers Writing in English Composing papers can be greatly troublesome for
those whose first dialect is not English. The significance of distributed papers in English is based
upon a few components: 1) English remains the most generally utilized dialect for restorative
productions (both online and the customary paper design); 2) Most of the higher effect element
diaries are distributed in English; 3) Publications in English enhance perceivability of the creator
and organization and can be crucial to one s scholarly advancement (1). Since there are no
particular guidelines about how to distribute in English and few references to control a writer on
the best way to distribute in English, the accompanying audit is construct generally with respect to
this current writer s close to home involvement in distributed more than 300 MEDLINE filed
articles and are what I consider to be the most supportive tips for composing papers in English and
for expanding the odds that your original copy will be distributed. Fundamental Principles You have
one and only opportunity to make a decent initial introduction. At the point when a composition is
inspected it has the most obvious opportunity with regards to acknowledgment on the underlying
(and once in a while just) audit. While by far most of original copies are distributed on their
legitimacy, there is subjectivity that can influence the analyst toward a positive choice. This
subjectivity is frequently based upon how

Nonexistent hoods and inadequate hoods should be replaced and installed immediately. The
low on nonexistent fpm s produced by these hoods are in violation of OSHA regulations. Putting
garage doors on the equipment doors should be done after this. The free flow of lead from POS
to other parts of the plant is of great concern to everyone s health. Keeping the lead in the POS
department would make it much easier to control. The installation of a wind tunnel between
POS and COS should be installed in the next couple years. A large sized capital improvement
investment will be required for this construction. Personal hygiene, facility sanitation practices,
and employee dietary needs should be instituted immediately. These changes have very little cost
and do not require much labor downtime. Conclusion The blood lead levels in the Holland,
Ohio facility are the worst not only in the United States, but the world as well. In order to lower
these blood lead levels each changes and improvements must be made in all six categories
outlined in this report. The changes range from simple policy changes that at little or no cost, to
engineering controls that will be fairly expensive. I look forward to meeting with you and other

recommendations to reduce blood lead levels in the Holland, Ohio facility. Works

Should America Be An All-Born Citizen Essay
Should the United States of America be an All American born country? Should all citizens be born
citizens? These are the questions we have been asking ourselves for centuries here in the States.
Whether we agree with the illegal immigrants coming into this country or not, it will always be an
issue. It is unquestionable that we the people need expand our thoughts and prepare a plan for
America and these new coming and already here immigrants. America should allow non criminal
immigrants to have the opportunity to become citizens.
These aliens increase crime rates in the US. Many people argue this without knowing the actual
statistics on the claim. Immigrants have lower crime rates than native born and natural born
citizens. A ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As of now America has employed a tremendous amount of undocumented immigrants, over 8.4
million. These immigrants make up only 3.7 percent of the US population, but yet represent 5.2
percent in the US labor force. Also the agricultural workforce is dependent of these undocumented
immigrants. Studies have shown that at least 6 out of 10 farm workers are undocumented. A
recent survey shows that 78 percent of the agricultural workers are foreign born and in order to get
here, had to cross a border.
Why deport aliens if it s cost is high and they can improve the economy by staying in the states.
Recent studies prove my statement. The United States spends more on deportation and border
patrol than annual gross domestic product of 80 countries. As of now the United States spends
$3.5 billion more on border enforcement than they spend on law enforcement in their country.
This comes down to $18 billion each year. If all undocumented immigrants were to be deported
or chose self deportation the US s GDP would get a massive hit with a loss of $2.6 trillion. If
America decides to remove all the immigrant it would cost a breathtaking amount of $285 billion,
If I place a perspective on it that is more understandable, that money could be used to hire one
million new teachers and pay them for five total years, it s

Philosophy of Teaching Essay Assignment
During my philosophy of teaching, I need to be confident with students during course. I need to
encourage my students during course so that they have trust and ability to study. I have planned a
teaching style to teach students in both practice and theory. Health care depends on the clinical
practice and if you do not have this knowledge, you cannot work in the hospital and clinics.
However, some students do not choose to work in the hospital and wish to focus on the theory and
education. For example, when I graduated from college, I never planned to study at the master s
level. However, after working four years in the hospital setting, I decided to apply for a master s
degree so that I could become a professor. I need to understand about students circumstances,
because already I was student. In this case, I can teach and give significant information to my
students. Therefore, I have the capacity to deal with all students and teach them to high level in the
future. I have to explain required information about the subject and discuss necessary points during
class for students. I should have experience of facilitating

North Korea Autocracy
Throughout our entire history there has been a prefered way of command. In the early stages of
civilizations, an autocracy was preferred. Now in the Modern Age, Democracy is favored. With
more globalization now than there ever was, the normal citizens of the State have more economic
influence. Democracy is the worst form of governmenton earth except for all the rest (Winston
Churchill) Like Churchill, I also think that Democracyis the prefered type of government for the
world we live in today because it leads to more economic growth. Democracy is a type of
government where the population of the State votes for the policies. Democratic Government can
be a pure Democracy, Republic or any mix of those two. Typically in a Democracy the policies
favor the public, like tax proportional to your income. Policies like that often give incentive for
innovations and trade, which, leads to growth of the State. Focus on Economicswhen investigating
is crucial. Take North Korea for example, they have a absolute monarchy. Due to that and the
hostility from the North Korean Government, there is little to no trade with that State. From what
we know about North Korea, they are far less medically advanced. Their literacy rate is also lower
than similar States like South Korea. With no solid... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Autocracy is a government that is influenced by a small group of powerful people. Although that
group can be elected by the public, often the group decides by itself. Autocracy leads to policies
that favor the small, powerful group, which, leads to poverty and low incentive for better work
than needed. Saying that, I do have to say that if the small web of people controlling the
government have a positive goal for their future, then there is little harm done. The main difference
between Democracy and Oligarchy is that in an Oligarchy there is a higher incentive for the
political leaders to favor the policies to the wealthy tip of the

Comparing Two Art Styles
In the study of the Humanities one can find a vast list of the different styles and periods of
artwork. The dilemma comes in when taking two different artist with different styles from
different time periods and comparing and contrasting them. The ability to contrast would be
facile, but the truth hides behind the ability to compare such divergent artwork. Artwork that one
may look at first glance and find more dissimilar, then finding the juxtaposition of the two pieces
of artwork. Even though Poussin and Toulouse Lautrec s pieces of artwork can be considered
different at first sight, looking more in depth into both pieces one will be able to find several
contrasts and comparisons. The different styles and time periods can not take away from the
parallel that both pieces posess. These artists have a dissimilar style and outlook on women partly
due to the differencein era s.
The first work of art chosen is Nicolas Poussin, The Rape of the Sabine Women, that can be found
in The Metropolitan Museum of Art, NYC. This style of art is a Baroque style. The second is by

can find that the post impressionist style is a intergration of the impressionists interest in
contemporary subject matter and Toulouse Lautrec s expressionistic colors and lines (2013,

unsavory and unwholesome ambience of the nightclub. The different lines, silhouettes and outlines

How Does Rap Culture Influence Black Community
Rap Culture s Influence on Black Communities Rap music, originated in the United States in the
1970s. Since the beginning of the rap era, rap stars have had a distinctive style that susceptible
listeners have mimicked as rap has become increasingly popular. Rap stars set trends that their fans
emulate, they contribute a lot to what is seen as fashionable to the youth. This leads to the
exploitation of the black community and unrealistic body goals.
From Rap Stars to Fashion Icons Rap originally was used to express the feelings of African
Americans who were oppressed and often lived in crime ridden neighborhoods and came from
lamentable environments. Like punk and the blues, these arts allowed people to make a statement,
whether political or emotional. These practices spread globally around the 1980s as fans could
make it their own and express themselves in new and creative ways. Along with this ... Show more

Often, rapstars live a lifestyle that the common American or African Americancannot afford.
Rappers are like gods to these people who have seemingly nothing; they inspire them to want to
be great. Since, admirers and fans want to be more like their idols, they often buy items that is
are out of their price range to accommodate this lifestyle. Exploitation is the action or fact of
treating someone unfairly in order to benefit from their work. Since, black communities are often
impoverished, they are often buying brands that they cannot afford and receiving nothing out of
it while these major companies make an immense profit. In 2010, 27.4 percent of black people
lived in in poverty, compared to the overall U.S. poverty rate of 15.1 percent. Even though, Black
communities are usually impoverished, if you were to visit one there would be a variety of brand

Jane Eyre And A Portrait Of The Artist As A Young Man
The novels Jane Eyre, by Charlotte BrontГ«, and A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, by James
Joyce, both exemplify the bildungsroman style, showing the growth of the characters over the
course of each book. As bildungsroman novels, both texts share elements common to the genre,
such as focusing primarily on character thoughts and reactions. They also share traits like periods
of character development being tied to a particular place. However, they differ in other areas like
narration style, conflict, and dialogue. The literary techniques that BrontГ« and Joyce use cause
them to approach the development of self as shown in the characters coming of age, in different
ways, while still being in essence the same type of book, reflecting... Show more content on

Helen s devotion to her beliefs has a significant influence on Jane s development as she retains
strong ties to her principles throughout the book, as shown when she refuses to live with Rochester
as his wife after the revelation of Bertha Mason s continued existence. In Portrait, Christianity is
tied to Stephen Dedalus growth as well, but not in the same manner, as he does not increasingly
embrace religion as he matures. He instead maintains an off and on relationship with the church, as
he is at times wholly devoted to maintaining himself in the manner dictated by the Catholic
leadership and at others is as far as can be from what they give as standards of goodness and purity.
His conflict with establishment versus individuality culminates in Stephen rejecting the church s
teachings in favor of viewing the world through his own eyes, leaving the strictly scripted trappings
of traditional religion behind him, a major event in his development from childhood into adulthood.
Jane Eyre and A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Manalso use distinct ways to show the growth of
identity in their characters. One of these is the narrator: in Jane Eyre, the story is told in first
person through Jane s own eyes. By writing in the first person, BrontГ« creates an effect by which
Jane s point of view is the only one that is available in its entirety

Middle Childhood Teacher-Child Relationships
There are several types of relationships, and all require a commitment and an understanding
between two or more people. There are friendships, relationships formed with family members and
relationships in which two people are intimate. Although the type of relationship may differ, the
longings are similar; to have an impeccable union between those in the relationship. However, since
people are merely human, a perfect relationship typically does not exist. When relationships are
fragmented there comes a time in which people must decide if it is significant enough to mend the
pieces back together. Relationships are vital because they give people a sense of fulfilment, success,
and enjoyment. Relationships are essential due to the fact that... Show more content on

When people build relationships with others it is evident that levels of stress tend to diminish
because they have people to confide in. Normand Anderson, in Paying with Our Health , stated
that Seventy five percent of Americans report experiencing at least one symptom of stress (9).
People all have tough days, whether it be health related, money related, or work related.
Thankfully, due to the relationships that individuals build, there is always someone to talk to about
the stresses of the everyday life. Therefore, it is important for people to maintain healthy
relationships to help reduce the amount of stress of everyday life. In addition to relationships
influencing a reduction in stress levels, they increase confidence and sense of belonging. Another
benefit of positive relationships is that people encourage each other to grow. People need to
surround themselves with positive influences and relationships. This is because true friends enjoy
seeing friends succeed, achieve their goals and enjoy pushing one another to accomplish more and
build confidence. On the other hand, friends may lift you up but they may also keep you level

My Canoeing Journey
I was never sure I can make it this far I had the knowledge and the drive, then I finally got my
Breakthrough in life. I always wanted to go to college becauses I knew the endless possibilities
that can happen in my life and my family. When I was given an opportunity to increase my chances
at making collegeI waste a second to take my chance and looking back on 3 summers I made the
right decision. Through reflecting on my times as breakthrough student, I learned that my biggest
area of growth have been dealing with challenges, working with discomfort, and discovering new
concepts.
A large area of growth I ve experienced as a breakthrough student has been dealing with challenges.
The most challenging part of the BLP retreat was the canoeing trip. This required patience, strength,
and persistence to make to and from our destination. Through paddling I have gotten move arm
strength, but most importantly I fought the struggle and made it to the island. All in all I used the
persist code battle the tiring activity called canoeing. It has taught me to work through difficult task,
no matter how much I want to quit. Although I had to push myself canoeing helped me expand on
my persistence to real world situation.
Another area of growth I ve experienced is public speaking. The most important thing we worked
on at Breakthrough was using your voice. This required confidence and the ability to be calm to be
understood by everyone . Through my 3 years of breakthrough, I have gotten

Whittington s Argumentative Analysis
The United States Constitution lays out the structure and powers of our nation and acts as the guide
to all future legislation and political decisions in our country. Power is divided in this constitution
among the executive, legislative, and judicial branches this judicial branch is the focus here. The
supreme court is meant to interpret the constitution and limit the powers of the executive and
legislative branches. Its power enumerated in the constitution is judicial review, where the supreme
court decides which laws are constitutional or unconstitutional. Although this seems quite simple
given a detailed constitution of powers and rights, the document and politics surrounding it are
incredibly nuanced, as noted by Professor Wralstad Ulmschneider... Show more content on

Originalists, especially like Whittington and Rehnquist, subscribe to the notion that the framers of
the US constitution were these sorts of omniscient, political masterminds who made a perfect
constitution, which was fully though out, unflawed, and wholly intentional. As Marshall notes in
his argument, so many things in American history point us away from this idea. Marshall points to
voting rights, slavery, and the civil war, but more importantly, these founders were many of the
same men who constructed the Articles of Confederation, a constitution that inarguably failed the
American people. After ten years of this former constitution plaguing the United states with tyranny
of the majority and a poorly balanced government, many of the same men regathered to create a
better constitution. Many of us may agree that this constitution is superior to its predecessor, but
what makes us think that it doesn t need to change even more as time continues to

Laura Mulvey s Objectification Of Scocentrism In The Film...
The film industry is a phallocentric institution that since its inception has always faced the problem
of objectifying women. Mulvey argues that, Cinematic codes create a gaze, a world, and an object,
thereby producing an illusion cut to the measure of desire (Mulvey 352). Mulvey belief is that the
filmindustry is creating a place where the main focus of attention is on the human form. is able to
turn the femaleform into an object; upon which men can direct this fantasies. One of these desires
is scopophilia, or the act of gaining pleasure from looking at another person. Additionally,
scopophilia is associated with taking other people as objects and subjecting them to a controlling
and curious gaze. Pleasure from looking is split between... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mulvey is saying that men and our society need to feel that women feel inferior to a man to be
able to justify and understand how women act in society. Up until the past few decades women
were considered and expected to just a bleeding womb for which children are produced. Film is
used as a tool to continue the objectification of women, especially their bodies. The power of the
gaze in film is giving to men once with the fact that most directors are male and again when the
male protagonist love interest is the catalyst for change. A lot of women in films have no real
role other than to motivate the main character, typically a man, and be a like a picture, a pretty
thing to admire. Norman had to justify his mother s act of abandonment and upon being unable
to, so he lashed out and killed her and her lover. Therefore, Norman created a second personality
where he lived out the life of his mother for her. Marion triggered the jealous side of Norman s
personality because she became a fantasy for him. Thus, she became the object of sexual desire for

How 1960s Has Impacted And Influenced Today s Society
How have the 1960s dramatically impacted and influenced today s society? In today s society,
there are many controversial topics that we are facing today; we have the 1960s to thank for those
things. The sixties was one of the most impactful decades pertaining to culture revolutions; it is the
decade that brought into play some of the problems and privileges that the present is dealing with
now. The sixties brought the gay movement, women s rights, the drug revolution, and has also
impacted music as well. One of the most well known things about the sixties is its music. Bands in
the sixties started to break the conservative boundaries by talking about drugs and sex in their
music; the drugs and sex revolution in this music also... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Drugs highly influence music in the sixties with bands such as The Byrds, The Doors, The
Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Strawberry Alarm Clock, and The Beatles. These bands took
inspiration from the affects that the drugs had on them with their psychedelic properties. Drugs
were also just starting to get introduced and people were highly influenced with positive drug
propaganda ( The 60 s ). So, the positivity about drugs were influencing the bands and the bands
were influencing the people and the more dugs being bought, the more people heard about them,
and the more people heard about them, the more they were used, so basically it was just an endless
cycle of drug positivity.
So now there are more than a hundred thousand people in America who are being influenced by
this music that expresses sex and drug use in positive ways. Also, with the invention for the birth
control pill in 1960, the consequences of having sex lessened and now women could be just as
involved in it as men where. In 1962, 1.2 million American women were using it and by 1965 that
number reached to 2.3 million women (Nikolchev). In the 1950s, sex would have barley been herd
of outside of marriage, but now into the sixties, it became more and more common for teens and
young adults to be irresponsible.
In today s society sex and drugs are common place. Media now a days show, talk about, or make

Mart Stores: Every Day low Prices in China. By the time 2005 rolled in China has become the
most prominent country to set up a branch for stores. China had a huge open market and it was
time for the company to take advantage of the opportunity that was happening in China. Wal Mart
has become the world s largest retail chain. This can only mean one thing and that is expansion.
The strategic move to expand the company chain stores to China was based off of the following
factors. First factor was China size as far as land, population. They also had a booming middle...

According to the article experts says that Wal Mart customers saved at least 15% on a typical cart
of groceries (Farhoomand, A. F., Wang, I., September, 2008). The major issue for Wal Mart was
how to salvage the investment they made in China. They had these entire great strategic plan that
worked in other countries that seemed to have done great. By 1996 the company decided to move a
branch into China they started with a supercenter and a Sam s club. The business did not take off
the way they hoped and planned. The company started to lose money since it opened stores in
China. The company thought that the problem was that they had only one store in such a huge
market. The fact of the matter was that the Chinese government turned down the company request
to expand further in different parts of the country. The government was not convinced that Wal Mart
would be successful with all the new competition that was being implemented in other areas.
Conclusion Wal Mart learned that businesses in other countries may impact the benefit of an
investment and is also learning that it s going to be trail and error. They can only hope that they
can endure their place there so that they can have the potential to grow as a brand. I recommend
that the company continue to research and discover what is in those local stores that are driving
their consumers to keep coming back for more. References Farhoomand, A. F.,

Inventory Management Model In Mobile Commerce
An Inventory Management Model in Mobile Commerce
Introduction
An inventory management system is the management of goods in the industry. The goods consist
of raw material to finished products. Thus an inventory management system controls the entire
storage of material flow in the industry. In this journal, the author focuses on the Inventory
management model in mobile commerce. In earlier days ledger books were used to maintain the
inventory control. Later computers were deployed in this work, which made inventory management
much easier. In this journal, the author uses mobile commerce to manage and check inventory. This
journal is hypothesis driven and does not consider any case study.
Method:
As mobile commerce is one of the technology which is most rapidly developing and boosting the
world economy, this mobile commerce would be a gained advantage for corporations which
implement mobile inventory. In the current scenario, web applications are used to manage
inventory. In this journal the author proposes use mobile device in place of computer system. Both
the models use web data to receive and manipulate information s. The mobile devices are termed as
personalized trusted devices. Primarily there are 3 main problems in inventory management. They

Genghis Khan Sparknotes
The book I have chosen is called Genghis Khan and the Making of the Modern World. This book
describes the Mongol Legacy and how his achievements have impacted the globe since he was
first found. This book consists of Jack Weatherford s take of how the Mongolian empire impacted
the world. This book is divided into sections that talk about the stages of the Mongol influence. The
first chapter is an introduction and a first chapter name A Blood Clot . It starts out with the
speculation of the death of Genghis Khan. Some say that his lover killed him others say that he
died of illness. It describes how he had no former education when he was younger and how he was
at a young age. He found a best friend, which would become his lifelong... Show more content on

He was also threatened by Temujin s growing power. In order to secure succession, Temujin asked
his son Kochi to marry the khan s daughter. Wanting to lure them into camp, Ong accepted the
proposal trying to kill them. Temujn and his family fled. He counterattacked once he learned of the
plot. Temujin found a way to convince the people that Ong Khan and his family were dead through
rumor even though he didn t actually kill them. In 1204, Temujin had his last battle for the control
of Mongolia. He used tactics that were a mix between old and new fighting styles.
The fourth chapter is named Spitting of the Golden Khan . It is also were part two of the book
starts. By 1210 Genghis (which became his new name) grew into a golden age. This when
everything started to prosper. He defeated armies across Asia and he had little to no issues. He
was able to get more military power and new tactics to employ into battle. He knew that in order
to conquer a fortified city he needed new tactic that is why he employed the wave method, in
which men went in like waves. He built a strong and prosperous empire that had a great time for
60 years. The fifth chapter is called Sultan vs. Khan . This follows that the Mongol empire
managed to conquer every army and city in Central Asia. Khan came across an ancient civilization
about 12 years older that contained

The August Revolution ( Russian ) Essay
The February Revolution (Russian: Февра́льская

known in Soviet historiography as the February Bourgeois Democratic Revolution[2]) was the
first of two revolutions in Russia in 1917. It was centered on Petrograd (now known as St.
Petersburg), then Russian capital, on Women s Day in March (late February in the Julian
calendar).[3] The revolution was confined to the capital and its vicinity, and lasted less than a
week. It involved mass demonstrations and armed clashes with police and gendarmes, the last loyal
forces of the Russian monarchy. In the last days, mutinous Russian Army forces sided with the
revolutionaries. The immediate result of the revolution was the abdication of Tsar Nicholas II, the
end of the Romanov dynasty, and the end of the Russian Empire. The Tsar was replaced by a
Russian Provisional Government under Prince Georgy Lvov. The Provisional Government was an
alliance between liberals and socialists who wanted political reform. They set up a democratically
elected executive and constituent assembly. At the same time, socialists also formed the Petrograd
Soviet, which ruled alongside the Provisional Government, an arrangement termed Dual Power.
This revolution appeared to break out spontaneously, without any real leadership or formal
planning. Russia had been suffering from a number of economic and social problems, which were
compounded by the impact of World War I. Bread rioters and industrial strikers were

Ethno-Nationalist Terrorism
Ethno nationalist terrorist groups rely on the terrorism, which seeks to establish an independent
state for ethnic, linguistic, cultural groups. They claim themselves as revolutionary groups, who

causes of terrorism. Ethno nationalist are more nationalist than religious counterparts, and they
emphasize on national identity, community mobilization, group identity, and oppose the idea of
terrorism. They use violenceto keep their presence alive in the particular community, sustain their
political agendas, and find meaningful solutions. In addition, ethno nationalist terrorism use fear as
a tool for polarizing people from different culture, idea, and developing alternative identities. For

Persuasive Speech On Photography
I hone in on the target. I get into position to shoot the perfect shot. I look through the scope,
verifying my position. Then I snap the photograph, breathe, and repeat. This is the process.
Photography is simple yet so rewarding. I feel pride in knowing that my finished work has the
power to shape and change the way its viewers see the world. In fact, it did it to me. Before falling
in love with the camera, my happinesswas reliant on my future success. As I came to realize,
believing that I was not good enough at the moment was my downfall. I am not the only one
who has embraced this mentality. Unfortunately, our society lives it, constantly looking forward
towards times to come instead of being grateful now. It is a major problem the world faces, and I
intend to fix it. I am going to be a photojournalist, and through the work that has blessed my life, I
will convince my viewers to look beyond the current methods used to find satisfaction with the
knowledge that the process to achieve success is a process, not a limitation, to have faith that it is
possible to find what matters most like I did and be happy now and in the future.
Our society seeks satisfaction in the form of instant gratification rather than long term happiness
and sadly, these techniques are materialistic and produce results that are very short lived; viewing
my work in photography will help people overcome this obstacle. As something becomes of worth

Guilt And Shame By Bernhard Schlink
Guilt is defined as an emotion of regret or accountability for some offense, which drives a person
to make amends in some way. Shame is defined as a painful emotion arising from the consciousness
of committing something immoral. The Reader, by Bernhard Schlink, is a novel that is filled with
various examples of guilt and shame. Guilt is especially important because the symbolic meaning of
the story contains illustrations of both collectiveand personal guilt. This emphasis on guilt begs
the question: How can the novel, The Reader, be seen as a study in collective and personal guilt?
The Reader can be seen as a study in collective and personal guilt because it shows how Hanna and
Michael represent the guilt of Germans communally and individually.
Hanna Schmitz, former SS guard at Auschwitz and Michael s adult lover, represents old Germany
and the guilt of Germany as a whole. Hanna is an authoritative, cold, efficient, and ignorant woman
that constantly struggles due to her illiteracy. In the beginning of the story, Hanna helps Michael
home when he is ill, even though she does not know him. Michael later returns to Hanna s
apartment to thank her for saving him and Hanna seduces him. Hanna and Michael begin to have
an affair that persists for several months. Throughout these months, Hanna insists on Michael
reading to her before they have sex. Then one day, Hanna disappears without a trace. Later in the
story, when Michael is attending a court case, it is revealed that Hanna

The, Outliers, By Malcolm Gladwell
Success is nothing more than a few simple disciplines, practiced every day. (Jim Rohn) Malcolm
Gladwell s, Outliers, published in 2008, makes arguments about what it means to be successful,
and how one can become successful. Gladwell specifically mentions the 10,000 Hour Rule which
states that anyone who wants to reach a definite level of mastery must perform 10,000 hours of
practice until that level is reached. Some believe this rule to be invalid as those who are successful
are born talented. Though I recognize that some people are born naturally gifted, I still contend that
anyone who wants to become great at what they do, needs to do supplementary amounts of
practicing as it utilizes one s potential to the fullest as Gladwell... Show more content on

Gracyn, always having relied on her natural ability, was unaware of the hard work and practicing it
would take for her to succeed and make one of the teams. She began putting in much more effort,
time, and practice. Consequently, she made the Ohio State University cheer team. Success is the
initial ability plus the extra practice one is willing to put in to achieve it. Extensive practicing
leads to these behaviors becoming a way of life. There s an old Latin saying Repetitio mater
studiorum est. which translates to Repetition is the mother of all learning. Repetition is the key
to proper practice as it is the best way for a person to learn. The more a behavior repeats, it
becomes habitual. There is a moment where you become so good at something that you don t
have to think about what you are doing, it comes naturally. A basic example of this is tying your
shoes. We learned at a very young age how to tie our shoes. We kept practicing and practicing until
the point where it doesn t take any thought of what you are doing. Natural talent paired with
repetition creates a natural success.

The Things They Carried, And Big Fish And The American Dream
Patrick Rothfuss, an American writer, once said, It s like everyone tells a story about themselves
inside their own head. Always. All the time. That story makes you what you are. We build
ourselves out of that story. Rothfuss explains how storytelling is always a part of everyone.
Stories are told in different ways, and those stories shape the person tremendously. Many of the
stories told today are what shape the audience. In The Things they Carried , by Tim O Brien, and
the film Big Fish, directed by Tim Burton, stories are portrayed to be productive because the
characters all have an American Dream and their stories help the characters achieve tasks to get to
their American Dream.
According to Why Americans are Obsessed with Telling their Stories , by Ozy Qi Wang,
American parents regard parent child bonding as the No.1 priority of personal storytelling: They
encourage children to share their stories, pay great attention to and are sympathetic with children s
thoughts and feelings, and create opportunities to re experience the past with children. Americans
think it is key to keep their children s dreams alive, they encourage them at a young age to express
how they feel and what they dream of for their future. Kids grow up used to the idea of sharing
their stories and create more meaningful connections with everyone they encounter. In Big Fish,
Edward Bloom told his son stories growing up to show him that anything is possible. Throughout
the film, Ed Bloom got his

the results are not representative of the male population with only 6 participants and no repeats
which makes it statistically unreliable and non representative. Although Figure 1 shows no
significant difference between control and ice vest it is apparent that there is a lower mean HR
for the ice vest testing in the first 8 minutes of the experiment. This can be explained by Figure 2
which shows the reduction in Ts for ice vest compared to the control during the first 5 minutes of
the experiment. This reduction in Ts causes a reduction in the need for blood flow to the skin
which directly causes an increase in available blood for central circulation (Marino, 2002). The
vasoconstriction as a result of the cold stimuli of the jacket would naturally increase the stroke
volume (SV) and consequently cause a reduction in HR (Marino, 2002). Increased muscle blood
flow could improve performance potentially. Figure 1 results showed that the ice vest tests

Analysis Of Alain De Boordon s The Consolations Of Philosophy
What is popular is not inherently true. That is what Alain De Botton is trying to show his
readers through his work, The Consolations of Philosophy. While there are many beliefs that are
well known and shared amongst a vast community, they can always be questioned, and if they
can be questioned, there may be an exception. De Botton states that the reason people do not
question our societies beliefs and values is fear of rejection by one s peers and the community
as a whole; just as Socrates was. However, some things that we, as a community, hold to be true
are true and should not be questioned, at times it is more important to stick to one s moral
compass rather than question a societies laws. Not wanting to be alienated from society is
something we fear as individuals because many people do not want to live their lives alone,
being a part of a community can be important to some people and while that can be questioned, it
does not mean it is a bad thing. Being able to question society allows for one to think for
themselves and find their own beliefs rather than accepting the ones from the environment they
were born into. Today, the world is so diverse, with a range of different and even contradictory
beliefs on what is true, questioning them is The main argument presented in De Botton s
reading is that what is popular is not always true. Every society has a set of beliefs they hold to
be true and important. People will act according to these beliefs because it is shown to them
throughout their lives that this is the correct way to behave; going against the status quo can
result in unpopularity (De Botton, 2000, p9). The fear of rejection and unpopularity is strong
within each society, most individuals believe that it is important to be apart of a community,
being exiled from one would result in loneliness and most societal conventions, like marriage,
revolve around not being alone. Society tends to put pressure on people to marry, people who
do not can be seen as deficient and not to create one s own family can be a great source of anxiety
for some (Blackmore, 2005, p327), it is seen as important to not be alone in one s life. Even De
Botton states, My priority was to be liked, rather than to speak the

How Did The American Revolutions Fail
To an extent, the revolutions of the 1820s and 1830s did fail because they were too localised.
Others suggest that there were other factors involved including: A lack of foreign support;
Austrian influence; the secret societies and political parties had different aims and a lack of mass
support from a combination of states across the peninsula. Each revolution was very much focused
in a particular state or region. Rebels did not join together across the kingdoms. After Napoleon
was defeated, the states were returned to their previous boundaries and the monarchs were restored.
In 1820, Naples and Sicily had two separate revolutions even though they had been unified once
again. Censorship and public funding cuts increasing, prompted rebels in... Show more content on

Peasants were seen as unintelligent and lived a life far removed from the middle class. They most
likely didn t realise that Austrian influence now reigned over their lands. Women also fell into this
category of unintelligent and so both groups of people were not seen as citizens worthy of the vote
by both the liberals and the radicals. By including the peasants and women in the fight there could
have been major success. Examples would be Piedmont in 1821 and in the Papal States in 1831.
Victor Emmanuel had put the 1770 constitution back in force after Napoleon left the Italian
peninsula. News of the revolutions in Naples meant the Carbonari gained more members. The
establishment of a revolutionary government and an army mutiny encouraged Emmanuel to
abdicate. The liberals gained the support of the 2nd in line to the throne, Charles Albert. But after
being denounced as a rebel by the 1st in line to the throne, Charles Felix, Albert fled, leaving the
liberals to defend their constitution. Felix and the Austrians defeated the liberals eventually. The
Church had a tight grip on government and censored much information since it disagreed with the
views of the Church. A riot ensued, organised by the professional classes who resented the Church.
The Papal government put up little resistance and a new government was set up. Soon after the
Austrian army moved into the Papal States and defeated the rebels however. In both instances, a
factor to their failure was because of the small number of people involved. The pomposity of the
middle class meant numbers in the riots and secret societies were minute. Teaching peasants and
women about the injustice of the current system of government could have seriously turned the
tables on the restored monarchs and the

Globalization Theory
Globalization Theory Globalization theory is defined as an approach that addresses the
development of the global resurgence of religion (Christiano et al., 2016). With the resurgence of
religion came Fundamentalism, which originated in American Protestantism. Fundamentalists
where known for practicing the essential fundamentals of Christianity, fighting back the
modernization of religion. T.K Oommen (1994) defines fundamentalism as text without context ;
meaning the scriptures written back in history where relevant to that history and culture at that time
and place (Christiano et al., 2016). Such texts without context then simply disregard current
settings. Fundamentalists believe their religion is the objective truth, which as a result, defines
other religions as myths (Christiano et al., 2016). Globalization has shifted religious views in our
society, from predominately Fundamentalist based to more modern. This shift in religious views
has resulted in religions catered to anyone and everyone. Faith is what allows us to accept a truth, a
truth believed by many, resulting in religion.
The Truth The three greatest Western religions are Christianity, Judaism, and Islam (Christiano et
al., 2016). Different societies interpret the Word of God differently. As stated in the text, the Word
of God can be magnified or reduced. As a result, this is considered one of the major downfalls of
globalization. Further in the text, it is stated that though religions, like Islam,

Analysis Of Baymax In The Film Big Hero 6
In the 2014 movie, Big Hero 6, there is a character named Baymax. Baymax is an inflatable robot
and primary care specialist. Now, in the movie Baymax saves the world and helps people with
holograms of their medical history. When activated, Baymax will do a full body scan and show
the patient, through a hologram, their current medical condition. Baymax may be considered only
a fictional character and not a possible reality, but a professor at Carnegie Mellon is working to
make a real life Baymax (Szondy 1). Having a personal care specialist that can follow you around
may seem unnecessary, but the truth is there are many benefits such as cancer detection, detection
in extreme fluctuation in blood pressure or cholesterol, simple cuts and/or bruises, etc. By inventing
a Baymax, together, we can protect people.
According to the World Health Organization, cancer is the fifth leading cause of death (WHO 1).
12.7 million people discover they have cancer annually and 7.6 million die from it (Huffington Post
1). Those numbers are not a total from throughout time; those are annual. Along with the 12.7
million people who are able to discover the cancer, there are millions that die because they had
cancer that was undiagnosed. How does modern medical technology miss cancer? Why is
preventing and detecting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Heart disease can be detected through changes in blood pressure, cholesterol, and heart beat. Most
people do not have medical devices hooked up to them 24/7 that show every time that something
irregular happens in their body. Having a personal robot would not be perfect to show everything
happening in your body all the time, but it would give you the opportunity to check anytime you
feel something is wrong. All of the medical conditions described above are not easy things for
families to deal with and on top of the emotional stress, there is typically a lot of financial

Example Of A Perfume Commercial For The Good Girl Perfume
The media that I chose is a perfume commercial for the Good Girl Perfume by Carolina Herrera
New York 2016 and this commercial feature the blonde model Karlie Kloss in a long black dress
and wearing a pair of black stilettos as she turns heads on her way to a hotel, to meet her date.
What happens around her when she walks in the middle of the street, with confidence and
sensuality? Glances are transformed into stares, car crash because drivers have their eyes on her,
the wind starts to blow away newspapers and magazines, and thunder strikes light up the sky. It is
not enough to turn heads jaws must drop, glances transform into stares. When good girl clicks her

The box is an impressive quality because it s got this fabulous velvet finish. It s a stylish black,
white and gold rectangular head turner. But the real treasure is reigning in. Carolina Herrera
got her inspiration from the famous Marilyn Monroe s quote: Give a girl the right shoes, and she
can conquer the world . As a result, a stunning and unique bottle in the shape of a sky high sexy
stiletto was born. Another inspiration was New York City (as you know, it is my most favorite
happy places in the world. The stiletto is super sleek and gorgeous. The shoe body is shiny with
a delicate Carolina Herrera brand print on its sole and CH initials on the front. And then there is
a beautifully piercing tall gold heel! The quality of the bottle is out of this world. Even though I
am not really a high heel wearer, this shoe got lots of people to say Wow ! The sprayer is located
at the very top with a sleek little pushbutton in the back. The packaging couldn t be more perfect as
it states and represents one main thing: we, women, are strong, daring, powerful, beautiful,
independent and we set our own rules. It doesn t matter if you re a flats lover, you might still find
this packaging, gorgeous and strong, just the way you

The Declaration Of Independence And The Suffrage Movement
The Declaration of Independence was written upon the 3 pillars of life, liberty and the pursuit of
happiness. To those around the world, United States of America was known as the land of the free.
Though the history of America reflects a lifetime of oppression and what the true idea of freedom
was. The Declaration of Independence was established to underline the unalienable rights of all U.S.
Citizens. These rights were written down on paper but not granted to everyone. Some women felt
excluded from the aspects of this document. Women were fighting for their freedom from their own
country. Elizabeth Stanton wrote, The Declaration of Sentiments in 1848 during the same time the
Suffrage Movement came into effect. The Suffrage Movement took... Show more content on

The problem states that women of the 19th century believed they were not free because they did
not have the right to vote. This right to vote was the gateway to women s freedom if men
allowed it to pass through. Stanton believed freedom to be the equality among all genders. The
Suffrage Movement brought about the First Women s Convention to discuss the issue of women s
rights. The First Women s Convention led to the continuation of more conventions as a way to get
a woman s perspective to be heard. Example 2: Women critiquing men and patriarchy through
women s lack of money and privacy. Women s writings were out of anger and insecurity. Lays out
betterment for society, the change in human nature Virginia Woolf in A Room of One s Own uses
the symbolism of a room to express solitude and leisure time. Women were excluded from
education and the unequal distribution of wealth. Through this idea, women lack the essential
necessities to produce their own creativity. Women wrote out of their own anger and insecurity.
Men wrote intellectual passages that were highly praised because a woman could never live up to
a man s expectations in literature due to lack of education. Using the example of Judith,
Shakespeare s imaginary sister, Woolf depicts this character as how society discriminated against
women. Judith, a woman, was just as talented as her brother, William Shakespeare, though had to
write in secret. A man s talent was highly recognized in

There are many other analytical methods exist for solving nonlinear differential equations, for
example: Adomin s decomposition method, Homotopy perturbation method (HPM), Liapunov
s artificial method etc. But HAM is more general in comparison of all of these methods. In this
thesis, author presents a difference between HPM and HAM, but he has not compared the
results of any problem obtained by HAM and HPM. He presents only a theoretical description of
comparison of methods. In HAM, we have to choose an initial guess, a linear operator and a
convergence control parameter h. According to Liao, we can choose these parameters freely. This
thesis provides a way to select an appropriate linear operator and value of convergence parameter.
Non uniqueness of linear operator has also mentioned, which shows the independency of choosing
a linear operator. Author has applied HAM to solve a system of nonlinear partial and ordinary
differential equations, which shows a significant application of HAM. But he has not solved any
system of more than two equations; this is a drawback of this thesis. In chapter 3, some theorems
are given to show the existence of solution. In fluid flow problems, many differential equations have
multiple solutions, but in this thesis this case has not

Antwone Fisher 3 Essay examples
Antwone Fisher in my opinion is probably the most impactful movie I have ever seen. People
may say, What a good movie but I say what a good man . Antwone Fisher grows up living in a
foster home where he is beaten, mentally and sexually abused. After spending time in an
orphanage he doesn t know what to do with his life. After thinking about it he decides to join the
Navy. The movie picks up with Antwone as a young sailor who has a problem controlling his anger.
Sent to a psychiatrist (played by Denzel Washington) he slowly begins opening up, learning to
confront the past that has fostered his long standing rage. Washington s psychiatrist becomes

I don t know about you but that has to take a lot of courage to uncover your deep dark past. This
movie is filled with fear and courage and most of all the help of others.
There is one part in the movie that really made this movie one of the most impactful movies I have
ever seen. He made a poem and presented it to his psychiatrist. It read:
Who will cry for the little boy lost and all alone
Who will cry for the little boy abandoned without his own
Who will cry for the little boy he cried himself to sleep
Who will cry for the little boy who never had for keeps
Who will cry for the little boy who walked a burning sand
Who will cry for the little boy the boy inside the man
Who will cry for the little boy who knew well hurt and pain
Who will cry for the little boy who died and died again
Who will cry for the little boy a good boy he tried to be
Who will cry for the little boy who cries inside of me
This poem has a true meaning behind it. The meaning of it is of Antwone when he was little. He
would cry himself to sleep. He would get beaten over an over again. It just kept building up and
finally he cried for help on the inside. Luckily he got help from his psychiatrist before it was too
late. The last quote from the movie that made it such an impactful movie was, You are the champ,
you have beaten everyone who has beaten you In the end I think that Antwone Fisher is the most
impacting movie someone will ever see. Throughout

The Power Of Freedom By Kate Chopin

EFL 095 4103
17 November 2014
The Power of Freedom
An Indispensable Right There are a variety of birds that make wonderful house pets, and most of
these birds don t mind living in a cage. However, this is not the case for the cockatiel. When the
cockatiel is not able to fly freely and have social interaction with other birds of its type, it
becomes depressed and plucks out all of its feathers, one by one. It longs for freedom. The kind of
freedom it would get out in the wild. According to Longman s Advanced American Dictionary, the
word freedom is defined as the right to do what you want without being controlled or restricted by
anyone (643). There are two authors that were discussed in EFL 095 that use the ... Show more

In 1894, Kate Chopin wrote The Story of an Hour, to describe the constraints placed on women
during the 19th century. During the 19th century women didn t have rights, their only roles
were to be wives and mothers. Women didn t have any rights to make decisions, have freedom
of speech or work outside the home. It is an obstacle in the face of liberty that everyone should
have, but only men reaped the benefits during this time. However, in the story, the main
character, Mrs. Mallard experiences freedom for a short period of time. Mrs. Mallard receives
news that her husband Bently was killed in a train accident and her sister Josephine and friend take
precautions to share the news because they know it will bring on deep sorrow. In contrast, the death
of her husband brings on a new feeling that others might consider inappropriate after the death of a
spouse. Kate Chopin shows this in the short story:
She abandoned herself a little whispered word escaped her slightly parted lips. She said it over and
over under her breath: free, free, free! (Chopin 327).
Death of a love one is expected to cause sadness, but in this case, it was for a short period of time.
The premature death of Mr. Mallard causes Mrs. Mallard to start to notice the beauty of her
environment, which possibly had gone unnoticed for a long time.
She could see in the open square before her house the tops of trees that were all quiver with the
new spring life. The delicious breath of

Watching the Watchmen Essay
Watching the Watchmen While reading Watchmen with the purpose of textual analysis, there are
many different things to consider. Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons took many original approaches
to the typical super hero story when formulating this novel. Watchmen is a story about a group of
outlawed super heroes in New York City. The story lines and backgrounds of particular characters
are shown during the comic, and we see how different these characters are from the stories of
typical super heroes. When trying to closely analyze this text, we could consider context, rhetorical
strategies, and the comparison to the Catholic Intellectual Teaching. When looking at the context of
this piece, it is interesting to think about why Moore and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Other ways that irony is used within the comic is more general, like the smiley face with a stain
of blood on it. This image is originally introduced on the first page of the whole novel but is also a
reoccurring image. (1.1). Something that is usually seen as so happy is now tainted with something
considered so dark. Gibbons frequent use of this image may show the corruptness of the
superheroes and the city, or even world, as a whole. Another example of the general irony used
within Watchmen is fighting violence with more violence. A prime character to portray this is
Rorschach. His childhood could be to blame for his crooked ways, but he is always violent in
his approaches, even if they are for a good cause. When Rorschach was trying to save a
kidnapped girl, he used violence to try to solve the problem. Visited underworld bars and began
hurting people. Put fourteen in hospital needlessly. (6.18 25). This is ironic because they are
supposed to be superheroes, and saving people. Superheroes are supposed to take the good way
out, but the lines between hero and villain are pretty blurred in this novel. Irony is a key feature in
Watchmen because it lets us see how the author and illustrator wanted us to view the characters. It
portrays how messed up and broken the Watchmen actually are. There are many ways that you
could compare the Catholic Intellectual Teaching to Watchmen.

The Opera Of Turandot By Giacomo Puccini
Opera Paper Turandot Turandot is a dramatic opera that was performed in the Metropolitan
Opera in 2009. Turandot was written by Giacomo Puccini. This rendition of Turandot was
produced by Franco Zeffirelli, and directed by Andris Nelsons. In this beautiful performance of
Turandot, we see Maria Guleghina as Princess Turandot, Mariana Poplavskaya as Lui and Calaf
as play by Marcello Giodani. With all of these talented actors and show personnel, this
production remains one of the best known film adaptations of Turandot. The composer of
Turandot is Giacomo Antonio Domenico Michele Secondo Maria Puccini, who was born on
December 28, 1858 in the small town of Lucca Italy. Puccini came from 5 generations of
musicians and began writing operas at the age of 21. His realistic verismo style, which means
truth or reality in Italian, allowed him to identify with his characters in a realistic way and his
operas reflect real life situations. Puccini liked to write operas with heroines rather than heroes.
His operas almost always include a death for the sake of love. Despite his operatic genius,
Puccini only wrote ten operas in his lifetime. He died on November 22, 1924 at the age of 66. At
the time of his death, he was only one act short of completing Turandot. His close friend and fellow
composer, Arturo Toscanini, finished Turandot shortly after his death. Puccini has been referred to
by many critics as the greatest composer of Italian operaafter Verdi (Brittanica.com).

  • 2. Wealth In The Gilded Age During The Gilded Age During the Gilded Age some people were becoming very wealthy and everyone had an opinion on what they should do with this wealth, also who they should help with this money, and how much money they should give. This new wealth was not expected and along with it came opinions and judgment of all economic classes. The opinions range from Social Darwinism, which William Graham Sumner believed in, to Andrew Carnegie s Gospel of Wealthand to Walter Rauschenbuschs The Social Gospel. William Graham Sumner was a firm believer in Social Darwinism. Social Darwinism is the belief in survival of the fittest, so the strongest in society are the ones who become wealthy. With this wealth Sumner believed that the wealthy should use it to support the other classes to give them opportunity to become wealthy themselves. According to Sumner If you get wealth, you will have to support the other people; if you do not get wealth, it will be the duty of other people to support you. (Sumner) In this quote Sumner is saying that no matter who the wealthy people are they will have to support the lower class and give them the chance to become wealthy. Through his ideas of social darwinism he believes that everyone should be given an equal opportunity to become wealthy and then the strongest in society will become wealthy. He does not believe that the wealth should stay in the already wealthy families because not every person in the family will be the strongest in society. Along with this he says We ... • 3. The Number Of Individuals Who Remain Single The number of individuals who remain single is continuously growing. In August of 2014, 50.2% of the adult populace was single in the United States. Comparing to 1976, 37.4% of the adult populace was single in the United States. The same trend can be seen in Israel. Since 1970, the number of men who stayed single has doubled and the number of women who stayed single has tripled (Slonim, Gur Yaish, Katz, 2015). Although the number of individuals who stay single is growing, undesirable labeling of and judgment against single individuals has been acknowledged in the United States. In a previous study, American students were asked to designate characteristics of married people; they defined married couples as more mature, truthful,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Younger single individuals may be seen as capable of eventually finding a partner, while the likelihood of finding a partner declines with age. In the same study, another moderator tested was gender. Women are thought of as having a greater longing for marriageand children than men, and consequently it can be anticipated that the typecasting of single women would be more prominent than that of single men. Conversely, gender was not found to affect stereotypes of singles. Single men and women are judged negatively, equally (Slonim, Gur Yaish, Katz, 2015). Previous research proposed that whether the single individual decides or not to stay single is a significant factor. Nonetheless, this factor was not tested in earlier research. According to another study, individuals are encouraged to give a good reason for the present societal, economic and political structures, by perceiving the norm as just and genuine. These views help decrease doubt and elude intimidating circumstances. A prediction can be made that singles that decide to stay single are refusing the norm and induce self protective responses such as undesirable stereotypes (Slonim, Gur Yaish, Katz, 2015). According to previous research on the feelings toward individuals who could or could not control their outcomes, one may assume that undesirable emotions such as anger would ... The significance of distributed papers in English is based upon a few components: 1) English remains the most generally utilized dialect for restorative productions (both online and the customary paper design); 2) Most of the higher effect element diaries are distributed in English; 3) Publications in English enhance perceivability of the creator and organization and can be crucial to one s scholarly advancement (1). Since there are no particular guidelines about how to distribute in English and few references to control a writer on the best way to distribute in English, the accompanying audit is construct generally with respect to this current writer s close to home involvement in distributed more than 300 MEDLINE filed articles and are what I consider to be the most supportive tips for composing papers in English and for expanding the odds that your original copy will be distributed. Fundamental Principles You have one and only opportunity to make a decent initial introduction. At the point when a composition is inspected it has the most obvious opportunity with regards to acknowledgment on the underlying (and once in a while just) audit. While by far most of original copies are distributed on their legitimacy, there is subjectivity that can influence the analyst toward a positive choice. This subjectivity is frequently based upon how ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The low on nonexistent fpm s produced by these hoods are in violation of OSHA regulations. Putting garage doors on the equipment doors should be done after this. The free flow of lead from POS to other parts of the plant is of great concern to everyone s health. Keeping the lead in the POS department would make it much easier to control. The installation of a wind tunnel between POS and COS should be installed in the next couple years. A large sized capital improvement investment will be required for this construction. Personal hygiene, facility sanitation practices, and employee dietary needs should be instituted immediately. These changes have very little cost and do not require much labor downtime. Conclusion The blood lead levels in the Holland, Ohio facility are the worst not only in the United States, but the world as well. In order to lower these blood lead levels each changes and improvements must be made in all six categories outlined in this report. The changes range from simple policy changes that at little or no cost, to engineering controls that will be fairly expensive. These are the questions we have been asking ourselves for centuries here in the States. Whether we agree with the illegal immigrants coming into this country or not, it will always be an issue. It is unquestionable that we the people need expand our thoughts and prepare a plan for America and these new coming and already here immigrants. America should allow non criminal immigrants to have the opportunity to become citizens. These aliens increase crime rates in the US. As of now America has employed a tremendous amount of undocumented immigrants, over 8.4 million. These immigrants make up only 3.7 percent of the US population, but yet represent 5.2 percent in the US labor force. Also the agricultural workforce is dependent of these undocumented immigrants. Studies have shown that at least 6 out of 10 farm workers are undocumented. A recent survey shows that 78 percent of the agricultural workers are foreign born and in order to get here, had to cross a border. Why deport aliens if it s cost is high and they can improve the economy by staying in the states. Recent studies prove my statement. The United States spends more on deportation and border patrol than annual gross domestic product of 80 countries. As of now the United States spends $3.5 billion more on border enforcement than they spend on law enforcement in their country. This comes down to $18 billion each year. If all undocumented immigrants were to be deported or chose self deportation the US s GDP would get a massive hit with a loss of $2.6 trillion. If America decides to remove all the immigrant it would cost a breathtaking amount of $285 billion, If I place a perspective on it that is more understandable, that money could be used to hire one million new teachers and pay them for five total years, it s ... I need to encourage my students during course so that they have trust and ability to study. I have planned a teaching style to teach students in both practice and theory. Health care depends on the clinical practice and if you do not have this knowledge, you cannot work in the hospital and clinics. However, some students do not choose to work in the hospital and wish to focus on the theory and education. For example, when I graduated from college, I never planned to study at the master s level. However, after working four years in the hospital setting, I decided to apply for a master s degree so that I could become a professor. I need to understand about students circumstances, because already I was student. In this case, I can teach and give significant information to my students. • 8. North Korea Autocracy Throughout our entire history there has been a prefered way of command. In the early stages of civilizations, an autocracy was preferred. Now in the Modern Age, Democracy is favored. With more globalization now than there ever was, the normal citizens of the State have more economic influence. Democracy is the worst form of governmenton earth except for all the rest (Winston Churchill) Like Churchill, I also think that Democracyis the prefered type of government for the world we live in today because it leads to more economic growth. Democracy is a type of government where the population of the State votes for the policies. Democratic Government can be a pure Democracy, Republic or any mix of those two. Typically in a Democracy the policies favor the public, like tax proportional to your income. Policies like that often give incentive for innovations and trade, which, leads to growth of the State. Focus on Economicswhen investigating is crucial. Take North Korea for example, they have a absolute monarchy. Due to that and the hostility from the North Korean Government, there is little to no trade with that State. From what we know about North Korea, they are far less medically advanced. Their literacy rate is also lower than similar States like South Korea. With no solid... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Autocracy is a government that is influenced by a small group of powerful people. Although that group can be elected by the public, often the group decides by itself. Autocracy leads to policies that favor the small, powerful group, which, leads to poverty and low incentive for better work than needed. Saying that, I do have to say that if the small web of people controlling the government have a positive goal for their future, then there is little harm done. The main difference between Democracy and Oligarchy is that in an Oligarchy there is a higher incentive for the political leaders to favor the policies to the wealthy tip of the ... The dilemma comes in when taking two different artist with different styles from different time periods and comparing and contrasting them. The ability to contrast would be facile, but the truth hides behind the ability to compare such divergent artwork. Artwork that one may look at first glance and find more dissimilar, then finding the juxtaposition of the two pieces of artwork. Even though Poussin and Toulouse Lautrec s pieces of artwork can be considered different at first sight, looking more in depth into both pieces one will be able to find several contrasts and comparisons. The different styles and time periods can not take away from the parallel that both pieces posess. These artists have a dissimilar style and outlook on women partly due to the differencein era s. Since the beginning of the rap era, rap stars have had a distinctive style that susceptible listeners have mimicked as rap has become increasingly popular. Rap stars set trends that their fans emulate, they contribute a lot to what is seen as fashionable to the youth. This leads to the exploitation of the black community and unrealistic body goals. From Rap Stars to Fashion Icons Rap originally was used to express the feelings of African Americans who were oppressed and often lived in crime ridden neighborhoods and came from lamentable environments. Like punk and the blues, these arts allowed people to make a statement, whether political or emotional. Jane Eyre And A Portrait Of The Artist As A Young Man The novels Jane Eyre, by Charlotte BrontГ«, and A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, by James Joyce, both exemplify the bildungsroman style, showing the growth of the characters over the course of each book. As bildungsroman novels, both texts share elements common to the genre, such as focusing primarily on character thoughts and reactions. They also share traits like periods of character development being tied to a particular place. However, they differ in other areas like narration style, conflict, and dialogue. The literary techniques that BrontГ« and Joyce use cause them to approach the development of self as shown in the characters coming of age, in different ways, while still being in essence the same type of book, reflecting... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Helen s devotion to her beliefs has a significant influence on Jane s development as she retains strong ties to her principles throughout the book, as shown when she refuses to live with Rochester as his wife after the revelation of Bertha Mason s continued existence. In Portrait, Christianity is tied to Stephen Dedalus growth as well, but not in the same manner, as he does not increasingly embrace religion as he matures. He instead maintains an off and on relationship with the church, as he is at times wholly devoted to maintaining himself in the manner dictated by the Catholic leadership and at others is as far as can be from what they give as standards of goodness and purity. His conflict with establishment versus individuality culminates in Stephen rejecting the church s teachings in favor of viewing the world through his own eyes, leaving the strictly scripted trappings of traditional religion behind him, a major event in his development from childhood into adulthood. Jane Eyre and A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Manalso use distinct ways to show the growth of identity in their characters. One of these is the narrator: in Jane Eyre, the story is told in first person through Jane s own eyes. By writing in the first person, BrontГ« creates an effect by which Jane s point of view is the only one that is available in its entirety ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are friendships, relationships formed with family members and relationships in which two people are intimate. Although the type of relationship may differ, the longings are similar; to have an impeccable union between those in the relationship. However, since people are merely human, a perfect relationship typically does not exist. When people build relationships with others it is evident that levels of stress tend to diminish because they have people to confide in. Normand Anderson, in Paying with Our Health , stated that Seventy five percent of Americans report experiencing at least one symptom of stress (9). People all have tough days, whether it be health related, money related, or work related. Thankfully, due to the relationships that individuals build, there is always someone to talk to about the stresses of the everyday life. Therefore, it is important for people to maintain healthy relationships to help reduce the amount of stress of everyday life. In addition to relationships influencing a reduction in stress levels, they increase confidence and sense of belonging. Another benefit of positive relationships is that people encourage each other to grow. People need to surround themselves with positive influences and relationships. This is because true friends enjoy seeing friends succeed, achieve their goals and enjoy pushing one another to accomplish more and build confidence. The supreme court is meant to interpret the constitution and limit the powers of the executive and legislative branches. Its power enumerated in the constitution is judicial review, where the supreme court decides which laws are constitutional or unconstitutional. Although this seems quite simple given a detailed constitution of powers and rights, the document and politics surrounding it are incredibly nuanced, as noted by Professor Wralstad Ulmschneider... Originalists, especially like Whittington and Rehnquist, subscribe to the notion that the framers of the US constitution were these sorts of omniscient, political masterminds who made a perfect constitution, which was fully though out, unflawed, and wholly intentional. As Marshall notes in his argument, so many things in American history point us away from this idea. Marshall points to voting rights, slavery, and the civil war, but more importantly, these founders were many of the same men who constructed the Articles of Confederation, a constitution that inarguably failed the American people. After ten years of this former constitution plaguing the United states with tyranny of the majority and a poorly balanced government, many of the same men regathered to create a better constitution. Many of us may agree that this constitution is superior to its predecessor, but what makes us think that it doesn t need to change even more as time continues to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

By 1996 the company decided to move a branch into China they started with a supercenter and a Sam s club. The business did not take off the way they hoped and planned. The company started to lose money since it opened stores in China. The company thought that the problem was that they had only one store in such a huge market. The fact of the matter was that the Chinese government turned down the company request to expand further in different parts of the country. The government was not convinced that Wal Mart would be successful with all the new competition that was being implemented in other areas. Conclusion Wal Mart learned that businesses in other countries may impact the benefit of an investment and is also learning that it s going to be trail and error. They can only hope that they can endure their place there so that they can have the potential to grow as a brand. It was centered on Petrograd (now known as St. Petersburg), then Russian capital, on Women s Day in March (late February in the Julian calendar).[3] The revolution was confined to the capital and its vicinity, and lasted less than a week. It involved mass demonstrations and armed clashes with police and gendarmes, the last loyal forces of the Russian monarchy. In the last days, mutinous Russian Army forces sided with the revolutionaries. The immediate result of the revolution was the abdication of Tsar Nicholas II, the end of the Romanov dynasty, and the end of the Russian Empire. The Tsar was replaced by a Russian Provisional Government under Prince Georgy Lvov. The Provisional Government was an alliance between liberals and socialists who wanted political reform. They set up a democratically elected executive and constituent assembly. At the same time, socialists also formed the Petrograd Soviet, which ruled alongside the Provisional Government, an arrangement termed Dual Power. Related Samples Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test showed no significant difference between plasma percentages for ice vest and control post test results (p 0.344). Discussion The significances from figures 1 5 would suggest that the Ice vests caused no significant physiological changes (p 0.05). However these results are inconclusive as the results are not representative of the male population with only 6 participants and no repeats which makes it statistically unreliable and non representative. Although Figure 1 shows no significant difference between control and ice vest it is apparent that there is a lower mean HR for the ice vest testing in the first 8 minutes of the experiment. This can be explained by Figure 2 which shows the reduction in Ts for ice vest compared to the control during the first 5 minutes of the experiment. This reduction in Ts causes a reduction in the need for blood flow to the skin which directly causes an increase in available blood for central circulation (Marino, 2002). The vasoconstriction as a result of the cold stimuli of the jacket would naturally increase the stroke volume (SV) and consequently cause a reduction in HR (Marino, 2002). Increased muscle blood flow could improve performance potentially. Figure 1 results showed that the ice vest tests beginning and end HR difference was 69.33 bpm ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Analysis Of Alain De Boordon s The Consolations Of Philosophy What is popular is not inherently true. That is what Alain De Botton is trying to show his readers through his work, The Consolations of Philosophy. While there are many beliefs that are well known and shared amongst a vast community, they can always be questioned, and if they can be questioned, there may be an exception. De Botton states that the reason people do not question our societies beliefs and values is fear of rejection by one s peers and the community as a whole; just as Socrates was. However, some things that we, as a community, hold to be true are true and should not be questioned, at times it is more important to stick to one s moral compass rather than question a societies laws. Not wanting to be alienated from society is something we fear as individuals because many people do not want to live their lives alone, being a part of a community can be important to some people and while that can be questioned, it does not mean it is a bad thing. Being able to question society allows for one to think for themselves and find their own beliefs rather than accepting the ones from the environment they were born into. Today, the world is so diverse, with a range of different and even contradictory beliefs on what is true, questioning them is The main argument presented in De Botton s reading is that what is popular is not always true. Every society has a set of beliefs they hold to be true and important. People will act according to these beliefs because it is shown to them throughout their lives that this is the correct way to behave; going against the status quo can result in unpopularity (De Botton, 2000, p9). The fear of rejection and unpopularity is strong within each society, most individuals believe that it is important to be apart of a community, being exiled from one would result in loneliness and most societal conventions, like marriage, revolve around not being alone. Society tends to put pressure on people to marry, people who do not can be seen as deficient and not to create one s own family can be a great source of anxiety for some (Blackmore, 2005, p327), it is seen as important to not be alone in one s life. • 37. How Did The American Revolutions Fail To an extent, the revolutions of the 1820s and 1830s did fail because they were too localised. Others suggest that there were other factors involved including: A lack of foreign support; Austrian influence; the secret societies and political parties had different aims and a lack of mass support from a combination of states across the peninsula. Each revolution was very much focused in a particular state or region. Rebels did not join together across the kingdoms. After Napoleon was defeated, the states were returned to their previous boundaries and the monarchs were restored. In 1820, Naples and Sicily had two separate revolutions even though they had been unified once again. Censorship and public funding cuts increasing, prompted rebels in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Peasants were seen as unintelligent and lived a life far removed from the middle class. They most likely didn t realise that Austrian influence now reigned over their lands. Women also fell into this category of unintelligent and so both groups of people were not seen as citizens worthy of the vote by both the liberals and the radicals. By including the peasants and women in the fight there could have been major success. Examples would be Piedmont in 1821 and in the Papal States in 1831. Victor Emmanuel had put the 1770 constitution back in force after Napoleon left the Italian peninsula. News of the revolutions in Naples meant the Carbonari gained more members. The establishment of a revolutionary government and an army mutiny encouraged Emmanuel to abdicate. The liberals gained the support of the 2nd in line to the throne, Charles Albert. But after being denounced as a rebel by the 1st in line to the throne, Charles Felix, Albert fled, leaving the liberals to defend their constitution. Felix and the Austrians defeated the liberals eventually. The Church had a tight grip on government and censored much information since it disagreed with the views of the Church. A riot ensued, organised by the professional classes who resented the Church. The Papal government put up little resistance and a new government was set up. Soon after the Austrian army moved into the Papal States and defeated the rebels however. In both instances, a factor to their failure was because of the small number of people involved. The pomposity of the middle class meant numbers in the riots and secret societies were minute. Teaching peasants and women about the injustice of the current system of government could have seriously turned the tables on the restored monarchs and the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Globalization Theory Globalization Theory Globalization theory is defined as an approach that addresses the development of the global resurgence of religion (Christiano et al., 2016). With the resurgence of religion came Fundamentalism, which originated in American Protestantism. Fundamentalists where known for practicing the essential fundamentals of Christianity, fighting back the modernization of religion. T.K Oommen (1994) defines fundamentalism as text without context ; meaning the scriptures written back in history where relevant to that history and culture at that time and place (Christiano et al., 2016). Such texts without context then simply disregard current settings. Fundamentalists believe their religion is the objective truth, which as a result, defines other religions as myths (Christiano et al., 2016). Globalization has shifted religious views in our society, from predominately Fundamentalist based to more modern. This shift in religious views has resulted in religions catered to anyone and everyone. Faith is what allows us to accept a truth, a truth believed by many, resulting in religion. The Truth The three greatest Western religions are Christianity, Judaism, and Islam (Christiano et al., 2016). Different societies interpret the Word of God differently. As stated in the text, the Word of God can be magnified or reduced. As a result, this is considered one of the major downfalls of globalization. Gibbons frequent use of this image may show the corruptness of the superheroes and the city, or even world, as a whole. This rendition of Turandot was produced by Franco Zeffirelli, and directed by Andris Nelsons. In this beautiful performance of Turandot, we see Maria Guleghina as Princess Turandot, Mariana Poplavskaya as Lui and Calaf as play by Marcello Giodani. With all of these talented actors and show personnel, this production remains one of the best known film adaptations of Turandot. The composer of Turandot is Giacomo Antonio Domenico Michele Secondo Maria Puccini, who was born on December 28, 1858 in the small town of Lucca Italy. Puccini came from 5 generations of musicians and began writing operas at the age of 21. His realistic verismo style, which means truth or reality in Italian, allowed him to identify with his characters in a realistic way and his operas reflect real life situations. Puccini liked to write operas with heroines rather than heroes. His operas almost always include a death for the sake of love. Despite his operatic genius, Puccini only wrote ten operas in his lifetime. He died on November 22, 1924 at the age of 66. At the time of his death, he was only one act short of completing Turandot. His close friend and fellow composer, Arturo Toscanini, finished Turandot shortly after his death.
