William Shakespeare s The Trojan War
Shakespeare uses the backdrop of the Trojan War in Troilus and Cressida to explore the interpretation
of honor as something extrinsic without associating it with intrinsic moral values. In the seventeenth
century, honour was used in four different ways: fame, renown, glory; credit, good name, reputation;
noble rank, position of dignity, title of renown; source of distinction. Fame and reputation are the most
common uses of honor throughout the play. Therefore, to avoid confusion and redundancy, fame and
reputation will be synonymous to honor for this analysis. Curiously, honourable is defined as honest,
upright, and distinguished. The adjective s definition has clear moral roots based on societal and
cultural norms. Thus, in regards to morals, it seems as though during Shakespeare s time there was a
clear divergence between honor and its derivatives. Therefore, by examining the significance and
usage of honor throughout Troilus and Cressida, it becomes apparent that chivalrous and moral
undertones are being exploited to advance glory and reputation. In the Prologue, Shakespeare presents
the play with chivalrous expressions by describing the Greek invasion of Troy as a rescue mission to
save the ravished Helen who is being held prisoner behind the massive walls of Troy (I.1 9). The
classic damsel in distress setting. Menelaus rallied the kings and armies of Greece under this moral
banner to set sail and lay siege to Troy. However, by conquering Troy and saving

Bourgeoisie And Proletariat In Russian Revolution
The conflict between different classes in a community due to competition in socioeconomic interest
and desires of different classes of people is the class struggle. Class conflict is also known as class
war. According to Marx theory ever since human society emerged from its primitive and relatively
undifferentiated state it has remained fundamentally divided between classes who clash in the pursuit
of class interest . During the ancient periods, people have been facing a lot of crisis because of
creating differences among the classes of the people. The difference in upper class that includes
wealthy and powerful people and lower class which includes working class is very wide. The richer
and the powerful ones enjoy the highest degree and most comfortable life ,but the poorer people have
to live under the control of their masters. Thus, the division between rich and poor leads to class
struggle. Therefore, this essay mainly displays about bourgeoisie and proletariat and imbalance of
power in ownership of public properties.

of the wealth amongst the animals, (Orwell, 1945).Similar to that superior and powerful people in

the ownership of the properties .In the story animal farm, it is depicted through pigs controlling over

Reservation Blues By Sherman Alexie
The United States is a multicultural country that has experienced a rough journey towards building a
cohesive country. Sherman Alexie s story Reservation Blues explores the lives of some Native
Americans who wrestled with cultural, racial, and religious barriers to embrace the rest of the country.
The story reflects the process of racial and cultural integration the country has been going through
since its inception, revealing an underlying struggle by the minority groups in the country to become
part of the Americans culture that is often dominated by the majority white population. The process of
assimilation occurs across all the different groups in the history of the country, and eventually,
contributes to multiculturalism. Therefore, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They often bully the representative of the reservation, Thomas. They do not take Big Mom seriously
by saying that, Shit, ...She thinks she s a medicine woman since they believe Big Mom is just a
woman (Alexie 282). Here, tradition has been marginalized. These Indian youths have virtually lost
their identity as an Indian. Influenced by the TV programs, American Indian youths like Victor began
to chase fame, profit, and emulate images the white media produced for them. As a result, the Native
Indians gradually lose their native religion and assimilate into the white culture.
Moreover, Native Indians have been assimilated into the white society in a way that they lose their
faith in their ethnicity through being willing to mix with whites and enduring the racial discrimination.
For example, Junior has a white girlfriend called Lynn, who chose to abort a baby because she was not
ready to marry an Indian (Alexie 224). Without a doubt, the two races had ideological and historical
conflicts that manifested in their relations. Also, Checkers are eager to be a white girl by saying that I
just looked at that blond hair and blue eyes and knew I wanted to look like that. Even though Indians
experience physical violence, unfair treatment, and prejudice, they endure these experiences.
Consequently, the Native Indian lose their confidence and faith in their ethnicity and fully fallen for
the white culture and values.
Even though minority groups experienced different levels of

Supernatural Intervention In H. P. Lovecraft s Dagon
Divinely Inspired or Divinely Insane: Supernatural Intervention in Literature Throughout various
genres of literature, divine or mystical intervention has played a pivotal role in revealing truths to
man. In many cases, these truths prove to be too complex for the human mind to comprehend,
resulting in characters to slowly become insane. The characters of Macbeth, Lady Macbeth, and
Hamlet from their respective Shakespeare plays as well as the unnamed narrator in H.P. Lovecraft s
short story Dagon express this belief as they each struggle to maintain sanity after their experiences
with powerful, unknown forces. Supernatural beings play significant roles in several of Shakespeare s
plays, but take on detrimental roles in many of his tragedies. They can be seen most prominently in
what can coincidentally be considered his two most famous tragedies, Macbeth and Hamlet. While
paranormal beings appear in forms of the Weird Sisters in Macbeth and the ghost of King Hamlet in
Hamlet, John Gibson argues that they contribute to their plots differently. In his essay, Shakespeare s
Use of the Supernatural, he argues that Hamlet s supernatural elements confirm a truth from the past,
whereas in Macbeth to the future. Dr. John Charles ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

washing away stains that are not actually there. This blood could symbolize the possible recognition
of wrongdoing that she feels after the deaths of Duncan, Banquo and others who were murdered
because of her actions. Soon after this scene, Lady Macbeth is found dead. The cause of death is
heavily alluded towards suicide although it is left ambiguous. The death of Lady Macbeth mirrors the
death of Duncan that was committed in order to fuel her desire for power. (Van

Mother s Love Death Without Weeping Analysis
Becoming a mother does not come with a mother manual or guide. How a mother should behave when
a child dies is socially constructed. In the article by Nancy Scheper Hughes called, Mother s Love:
Death without Weeping, it discussed how the mothers of the town of Alto handle the death of their
child. Alto is a poor underdeveloped shantytown. The women of Alto work for very little wages and
they cannot bring their children to work with then. The babies are left all alone and sometimes die.
The article displays how the mothers of Alto do not grieve over the death of their infant children. In

Innate Pathogens
Pathogens and parasites are very dangerous and lethal to not only vertebrate species such as animals,
but invertebrate species like insects as well. Insects have to heavily rely on their innate immune
system, which is an immediate response in quickly destroying invaders (Alberts et al 2002). Melanism
is a key response to insects innate defenses that serves many functions like improving fitness. Melanin
darkens the insects cuticle, which is facilitated by the enzyme phenoloxidase that converts dopamine
to melanin (True 2003). So when the insect is infected, host hemocytes surround around an invader
and from a melanized capsule, and as the capsule darkens, cytotoxic intermediates are produced and
the invader loses its ability to survive (Cerenius

Scientist, Jared Diamond, Explains How Europeans Gained...
Many Caucasian s have thought and believed positively they were superior to many other races. Most
of these people were from a geographic area that had advanced technology, large populations, and a
large workforce. This area started in the Middle East and spread laterally within a similar environment
that provided a fertile habitat for farmer gatherers. Jared Diamond discovered that approximately
13,000 years ago man started out as hunter gatherers following seasonal game migration to provide
food for their survival. Man would find whatever food that grew in that area to supplement the game
animals for sustenance, but this activity would take a majority of his time and would be conditional to

This in turn freed up many workers to produce other necessities. One very important item was steel.
From it came better tools for farming and weapons. The Middle East lost its advantage due to drought
conditions. Egypt used the wheat, barley, sheep, goats, cows, and pigs to transform human society.
Egypt produced enough food to free a workforce that built one of the wonders of the world, the
pyramids. These engineers and inventers discovered resources in their environment to produce clay,
steel, gunpowder, and paper. The scholars of the culture spread philosophy, religion, and politics.
Paper and the invention of printing preserved knowledge and history, along with better steel and guns
gave the power to dominate other cultures in less fortunate environments. Building sea worthy boats
enabled the armies to conquer these cultures and take their resources for their own gain. Trading with
other powerful cultures producing goods increased the diverse resources with which to become a
superpower and to continue to dominate the sea and many different lands. But with the large cities and
close proximity of people, and farms with animals in herds and humans close together, came the quick
spread of diseases. These diseases tempered populations, but also some humans built up immunities,
which were passed to their offspring. Therefore, even though many people died, it did advance the
civilization with anti bodies protecting the culture, but as carriers

The Crisis Of The European Union
Inflation, crisis, recession, fear, unemployment rise, debt, and depression are some of the commonly
used phrases in relation to failing economies. There are many different factors that contribute to the
downfall of an economy, whether it be the political structure, the aftermath of a war, or the role of
government itself. A failing economy s severity can vary based on the specific country s situation. In
comparison to the world, there have been a few countries under the European Union that have
continually worsened economically through the years: Greece and Spain.

3). There have been a number of factors contributing to Greece s fiscal crisis both endogenous and
exogenous. When focusing on the endogenous causes of the fiscal crisis, there is no doubt that running
consistently widening public deficits in conjunction with declining external competitiveness played a
decisive role on the deteriorating fiscal stance of the Greek economy (Kouretas, Vlamis, 2010, 394).
Greece s deficit has risen to 12.7%, which is more than four times higher than the European rules have
allowed (BBC News, 2010, para. 8). On the other hand, the main exogenous implication is the timing
of response. The Eurozone governments failed to give a clear signal indicating their readiness to
support Greece, while the Greek fiscal crisis was escalating, because many EU Member States were
unsure of how much assistance they could individually given to a country in financial difficulty
(Kouretas, Vlamis, 2010, 396). In addition, Greece has been facing problems with the underground
economy, which is also known as the shadow economy. The shadow economy focuses on criminal
activity, such as drugs sales, smuggling, gambling, etc. and focuses on legal transactions that are
conducted in cash and unreported to fiscal or other competent authorities (Katsios, 2006, 62). Greece
has been accountable for about 27 30% of the GNP for the underground economies in comparison to
various European countries (67). With all these financial issues going on in Greece, there is a

Rhetorical Analysis Of Earning Their Bread By Florence Kelley
In our generation, subjects such as child labor no longer exist, and we can thank our ancestors for this,

Florence Kelley, social worker and reformer, presented a speech that urged citizens to ban child labor;
the speech vocalized how evil this act was and uses many examples to appeal to one s emotions and
morality. Right off the bat, Kelley asserts, ...Children under the age of sixteen years who are earning

The Project Background Of Vehicle Safety
The Project Background
Vehicle safety is of upmost importance for automotive manufactures as having an unsafe vehicle can
mean the company will not be able to sell its new vehicle to the public. Each country has their own
legislation of vehicle safety which manufacture has to abide by and produce documentation to prove
that the vehicle is safe, in order to sell its vehicle in that particular country. Independent testing
organisations, such as Euro NCAP, perform a number of safety tests on new vehicles to confirm that
the vehicle conforms to legislation [1]. These tests also score the vehicle on different safety aspects.
Some manufactures use this score as a unique selling point of the vehicle so it is very important that it
achieves a good score [2].
One procedure tests vehicle rollover which is a particular risk to SUV s as they tend to have a higher
centre of gravity than other vehicles. This is a particular hazard as SUV s are becoming more popular
in today s society [3]. Vehicle roll over fatality accounts for 35% of all passenger vehicle fatalities in
the US in 2012 with 56% of fatalities occurring in SUVs [3]. The percentage of fatalities in SUV
rollover has reduced since 2003 however more research is needed to reduce it further. Whilst the test is
carefully designed there is always some chance that the vehicle will rollover even if it has passed the
test, thus endangering life. Therefore more research is needed to accurately simulate vehicle dynamics
during many

The Landmark Herodotus Analysis
The Landmark Herodotus is one of the most unique history books that I have read. While reading The
Landmark Herodotus, I was not sure if I was reading a history book or an epic. It was written to record
the events of the Persians and Hellenes, but it incorporated myths, oral traditions, and the authors
opinions which made me feel like I had experienced each historic event first hand. Herodotus s writing
style is unique, but in the appendix C he is criticized for sometimes being inaccurate and distorting
historic facts, because he relied on people who can have faulty memories or sources of knowledge.
Herodotus sometimes was not certain on some facts, but he did his best to rely on logic to make the
best argument on what happened. For example, Herodotus argues that the Colchians are Egyptians. He
argues this by first noting his opinion of their resemblance and then used his logic to show how they
came from the army of Sesostris. He also points out that their whole culture and the way they did
things were very similar to the Egyptians. Unfortunately, in the appendix Herodotus is called out for
being wrong about his opinion of the Colchian s origin. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

king Xerxes s life. Herodotus seems to be able to give specific details about Xerxes trying to decide
whether or not he wanted to go to war and how he was receiving divine dreams, persuading him to go.
When Herodotus adds details like these I am forced to wonder how much of his writings I can trust,
but then he will write things that I know can be proven. In the same account of Xerxes he was very
specific on how the bridges across Hellespont were

theory. The main objective is to test the following hypotheses: (i) semi active control of structures can
be carried out analytically, (ii) a proposed innovative control theory is applicable to flexible structures
subjected to multi hazard loads, and (iii) the proposed control approach is applicable to wind turbines

Main Tasks: To accomplish the objective of the project, field experiments, as the best references for
future development, are required in conjugation with analytical and numerical investigations. In
Figure 1 a general perspective of the research is illustrated. The whole project will be executed in
three main tasks which are described as follows:
Task 1. Data Collection and Analysis: The first task to accomplish the goals of the project is to collect
high quality data that consist of the wind velocity field and profile, wind turbine s dynamic responses
and the power production. Due to the wind velocity fluctuation or high intensity turbulence which is
an important characteristic of the wind in atmospheric boundary layer, the rotor and the tower of a
wind turbine normally experience extensive fluctuating dynamic loads. Because of the randomness
nature of these fluctuations, limitations in numerical simulations and scale related issues in laboratory
tests, field wind data collection is super beneficial for scientific evolution of wind turbines. During the
last years, a high quality remote system is introduced and implemented by wind energy developers to
capture the wind data in front of the wind

Brutality, Injustice And Rebellion
Both the novels provide an interesting perspective on revolution and demonstrate a period of brutality,
injustice and rebellion. The Kingdom of this world by Alejo Carpentier accounts the Haitian
Revolution and the destruction of the black regime, while Mother of 1084 narrates the suppression of
the Naxalites in Bengal. Also both texts focus more on the rebellion against the revolution than the
revolution itself. The interesting fact about Carpentiers text is that he goes against the general
assumption of slaves as victims and through his characters, particularly Ti Noel, Macandal, and
Bouckman presents slaves who are rebellious and powerful. On the contrary he portrays the
Europeans as self indulgent and cowards. Several accounts of revolutions in the past have silenced
slave rebellions and exalted the colonial enterprise but Carpentier did not suppress the voices of the
slave and presents his story from the perspective of slaves. He also privileges African beliefs and
cultural practices like Voodoo spiritualism, thereby sanctioning African belief systems. ... Show more

Protecting Freedom of Conscience from Government Discrimination Act or more popularly known as
the Mississippi religious freedom act. The bill is set to take effect July 1, 2016 and is meeting criticism
nationwide for its alleged legal discrimination of the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender(LGBT)

Bedbug Experiment
Bedbug Treatment Cost
What are Bedbugs?
There are different insects that can invade your home, but the bedbug can easily pass as the most
frustrating. This insect lives off the blood of people and animals, typically feeding while its host
sleeps. Adult bedbugs have a light brown or reddish brown color, and their tiny size makes them very
difficult to discover. A peculiar thing about this insect is the fact that just one bug may invade a home
and within a short period of time begin to reproduce, after which the invasion will expand fast. They
can survive if they don t feed for several months and this can make bedbugs difficult to wipe out once
they invade your home.

Resistance Between Papuans And The Indonesian Government
Resistance in West Papua and Northern Ireland.
West Papua and Northern Ireland are both engaging case studies in examining processes of peace and
reconciliation. Whilst these conflicts are not directly related by juxtaposing them new themes of
resistance within processes of conflict become clear. This essay will seek to examine the ways in
which those in West Papua and Northern Ireland resist border creating forces; both socially and
physically. In terms of West Papua this essay will focus on the fight between Papuans and the
Indonesian government, focusing particularly on resistance by West Papuans. Within Northern Ireland
this essay will focus on religious resistance against borders. Rather than focussing on the
overwhelming political aspects of both of these conflicts this essay will seek to answer questions
surrounding the power of everyday citizens in peace and reconciliation, overall arguing it is the
resistance of everyday citizens that often initiates long terms changes.
West Papua History Why the need for resistance:
West Papua is a nation bordering Papua New Guinea. It was colonised and is ruled by the Indonesian
government, a rule maintained by force by the Indonesian military. It is a country with a long running

Watersheds are important because water such as stormwater or surface water drain to other bodies of

way to help our watershed would be by putting sea bins in some rivers that you can tell are

There are many strategies that can be implemented to help providers to communicate better with multi
cultural populations. Becoming a bilingual provider will greatly increase the communication process
and the effectiveness of health care when caring for multi culture populations. The provider must be
aware that all Spanish people does not speak the same Spanish. They should not assume because
someone speaks a certain language that they can all so write it. The provider should ask the patient
what language they prefer to use, verbally or written. The provider should be aware of non verbal
clues which can be a barrier to health. They should be aware that personal space has a different
meaning for different culture/populations. Some people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Television is a great place to start if one does not have access to the internet. In 1997, may path
crossed with this young man of Dominican decent, age 13. The agency was sending him out for
evaluations because they thought he was mentally challenged. He was a little withdrawn but I did not
see anything major wrong with him. He had been on few of the trips prior to me taking him but he
would not talk or speak with the staff that was taking him nor the providers. I took him on one of the
medical trip and I engaged him in a conversation by telling I would love to learn how to speak
Spanish. I told him I wish I could do as well as him because he could speak two languages. While we
were waiting for the doctor I would ask him how would you say different words in Spanish and he
would tell me. He opened up to me and told me I know they think I am stupid . He said that everyone
in his family only speak Spanish. The English that he spoke he learned it from watching TV. I gave
him praises and told him that he was doing a great job in learning English. I went back and presented
this information to the team. They realized that they were wrongly diagnosing this child. The took a

Investigating the Temperature at Which Soap Powder Will Perform Best At
Introduction
I am going to conduct an experiment in the controlled environment of a laboratory. The experiment
will consist of placing a stained piece of fabric into water with a fixed concentration of a biological
washing powder (Wizzo) in it. I will try this experiment several times trying different temperatured
water and leaving the it for a fixed period of time to find the best possible temperature that the Wizzo
works at.
Plan: Enzymes

Method: Safety
To ensure that I am safe through out the experiment I will be taking various precautions. I will be
wearing a lab coatand eye protection. I will be aware of others working around me and considerate of
thier safety.
Method: Plan
I am going to pay particular attention to the variables to obtain precise results. I will ensure that each
stained piece of fabric stays in the solution of Wizzo for the exact amount of time so I will be using a
stop clock to measure. I have chosen to leave each stained fabris in the solution for five minutes to
allow time for the enzymes to react.
I will also be using the same ammount of the Wizzo/water solution. I am using 100% water and 1%
Wizzo to try and simulate the same concentration in proportion to a regular wash in a washing
machine. I could stir the solution during the five minutes but I have decided against it as I want to see
soley how affective the Wizzo is at removing the stain. I will be placing the fabrics that i have bin
given into a range of temperatured water; 30, 40, 50, 60 ,70 and 80 degrees celsius. I will have

St Catherine Annotated Bibliography
March 25th, 1347 Saint Catherine was born in Italy. St Catherine is the patron of firefighters, illness,
miscarriages, nurses and sick people. During her life, St Catherine herself suffered illness leading her
to be the patron as apparent. At the age of 16, St Catherine had previously disregarded marriage, as
she envisioned mystical experiences seeing guardian angels, transforming her into a brilliant minded
young woman even though she was not supported with formal education. Since going against her
mothers wishes of her 23rd daughter, St Catherine was left alone after the demands of her father to do
what she grew up believing in. St Catherine was given a room to pray and meditate by her parents and

Family Secrets In Alison Bechdel s Fun Home
As I read Fun Home, often reading chapters more than once, I had quite a few questions floating
around inside my head. Alison Bechdel dedicates her memoir to Mom, Christian, and John. We did
have a lot of fun, in spite of everything . I found it odd that she didn t include her father in this as well.
After all, without her father, she would not have had much of a story. He was the glue that held the
whole dysfunctional family together and it was his mysterious and depraved manner that compelled
me to turn each twisted page. Bechdel also mentions her family again in the acknowledgments at the
end of her book, Thanks to Helen, Christian, and John Bechdel for not trying to stop me from writing
this book . This brought up the question, what does her family think about her writing her
autobiography? Alison exposes many intensely personal family secrets in her ... Show more content on

The only thing I wasn t a huge fan of was Bechdel s exorbitant vocabulary throughout the entire 232
pages of her book. Reading through each chapter took a lot of stop and go on my part. I found myself
taking short breaks to define pretentious sentences Alison compounded in an attempt to elevate her
comic book autobiography to a higher intellectual level. For example, in chapter four, Alison
remembers a trip to New York City with her brothers and Roy. Alison recalls, And while I
acknowledge the absurdity of claiming a connection to that mythologized flashpoint...might not a
lingering vibration, a quantum particle of rebellion, still have hung in the humectant air (104). Another
example appears in chapter five, Alison states, And my father s life was a solipsistic circle of self,
from autodidact to autocrat to autocide (140). I m all for prodigious words (see Alison, I can use them
too) but maybe scale it back a little. I ve read and watched a few interviews she has given and she

African American Teachers
An American psychiatrist by the name of William Glasser once stated, When you study great
teachers...you will learn much more from their caring and hard work than from their style. Teachers
are a huge part of an individual s life. From the time a person enters into preschool until the complete
cessation of their educational career, the teachers and professors along the way each influence that
student s perspective and feeling towards the particular subject they taught. With daily interactions,
teachers become a part of a student s microsystem. They are often times the only other constant adult
figure in their student s life apart from the caregiver. Whether it is acknowledged or not, the
importance of teacher cannot be overstated. Unfortunately, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Kartagener s Syndrome Research Paper
Kartagener s Syndrome (PCD)
Structure and Function: The cilia organelles are found in eukaryotic cells. Cilia are made up of
microtubule based cytoskeleton called the axoneme and multiple proteins. The function of the cilia is
to keep passageways clear of any mucus and foreign particles. 38
The disease and how the organelle malfunctions: Kartagener s syndrome is a rare hereditary genetic
disorder. This disorder affects the respiratory tract, middle ear, fallopian tube, and the flagella of
sperm cells. This disorder starts in the embryologic phase of development. The diagram shows you the
main internal structure and anything missing or deformed in the central microtubules to the dynein

The lack of movement causes there to be little to no mucus clearance in the lungs. One symptom of
Kartagener s syndrome is chronic or recurrent respiratory diseases. The respiratory diseases start off
when the patient is young, but as the patient gets older the respiratory diseases get worse. These
diseases cause progressive damage to the respiratory system. Some other symptoms of Kartagener s
syndrome is hearing loss and loss of smell. Hearing loss and loss of smell is due to the buildup of
mucus in the respiratory tract. 104
Diagnosis and prognosis: The earliest that this disorder can be diagnosed at is birth, if the newborn
experiences respiratory distress or needs respiratory therapy. Kartagener s syndrome is most often
diagnosed in early childhood. If the child has recurring ear infections, chronic sinusitis, or chronic
respiratory infections with no obvious cause the doctor will then check for PCD or Kartagener s
syndrome. There are several different ways that a doctor can diagnose you for Kartagener s syndrome.
One way to test for Kartagener s syndrome is to do a breathing test. People with this disease breath out
less nitric oxide. Other ways are to do a tissue biopsy, semen analysis, or imaging scans. The disease
causes you to be vulnerable to all different types of respiratory diseases. People with Kartagener s
syndrome can have multiple respiratory diseases

Manoeuvrist Approach, Mission Command And OODA Loopist...
In order to be able to answer on those questions it will be necessary firstly to explain basic theoretical
points about Manoeuvrist Approach, Mission command and OODA loop cycle. Throughout history,
military theorists and commanders have attempted to determine and define the most effective way to
defeat an adversary and achieve victory. British military doctrine defines this method as the
Manoeuvrist Approach or indirect approach, which main focus is basically on attacking enemy s
cohesion and will to fight rather than focusing purely on the destruction of his physical component.
The approach itself is based on manoeuvre theory, which relies on speed, deception, surprise, and the

OODA loop (observe orient decide act) is theory presented by American John Boyd and its essence is
to be faster through OODA loop cycle than the enemy. If we can consistently go through the OODA
cycle faster than the enemy, make faster decisions and act before him, we gain an advantage and
enemy loses his cohesion until he can no longer fight as an effective, organized force. However, in
order to be faster than enemy some preconditions have to be achieved. Firstly, according to Boyd, only
decentralized military with application of mission command can have a fast OODA loop. Secondly,
through decentralization, to operate successfully in fog of war we need to accept confusion and
disorder, and also to generate them. Thirdly, while operating in confusion and disorder we need to
avoid all patterns, recipes and formulas, because if our tactics follow predictable patterns, the enemy
can predict our actions and easily cut inside our OODA Loop. And lastly, we should never do the same
thing twice because even if something works well for us once, by the second time the enemy will have

Animal Farm Literary Analysis
George Orwell, the writer of Animal Farm, Why I Write, and Politics and Language, was arguably one
of the most influential writers of the 1900s. Orwell has written multiple pieces of literature that have
helped him develop his purpose, which is to spread the message that power corrupts and absolute
power corrupts absolutely. Ultimately, Orwell effectively fuses his political and artistic purpose into a
single powerful work of art in his short novel Animal Farm.
One of Orwell s most influential political novels is Animal Farm. Animal Farm is a book about a
group about mistreated and abused animals who overthrow their neglectful owner and form a new
society. Although their society is formed around the idea of equality, it still resulted in chaos. Orwell
wrote Animal Farm as a response to communism in the Russian Revolution. Communism is extremely
similar to the way things worked on Animal Farm... communism always started off with positive
intentions, but ended in chaos. In the novel, Orwell does a good job of showing the reader that the
animals are not undergoing the best conditions, Towards the end of the book, Orwell says, Starvation
seemed to star them in the face. Orwell s novel is filled with symbolism and irony which helps us infer
the specific events and people he references in the book. Orwell achieved his purpose in the book
Animal Farm by shifting the hopeful tone to one of despair.

Republican Radicals
After the Civil War had been won by the Union, people started to raise up lots of questions. Lincolns
mind view was that the Union was one, and that the southern states that had decided to secede were
just in rebellion, and he was going to forgive and forget. Republican Radicals on the other hand
figured that the South should be severely dealt with. Another question that was raised was what should
be done with the over four million slaves that were being set free.
Lincoln answered these questions exceedingly well in his ten percent plan. This proclamation stated
that if any seceded state wished to be Presidentially pardoned, they only had to take the Oath of
Loyalty, which stated that the state had to Faithfully support, protect, and defend the Constitution of
the United States and the Union of the States thereunder (Wikipedia/Loyalty Oath), meaning that they

This was ok until the Republican Radicals won almost complete control of the Reconstruction. With
this power, the radicals passed the First Reconstruction Act in 1867, which divided the South into five
military districts. To get rid of the military, the state had to have a Constitutional Convention and in it
create a government acceptable to the Congress. In order to be acceptable to Congress, each state had
to allow the blacks voting power by ratifying the fourteenth amendment which gave that suffrage to
the blacks. By 1870, all the districts had created such a government and were readmitted to the Union.
The only problem with this were the carpetbaggers who tried to manipulate the blacks who were in
control into making bad choices. Because of this, whites had to restore white supremacy and this

The results of the Bobo Doll Experiment created a surge of interest into the possible correlation
between media violence and violent behaviour. Meyers (2002) conducted a study on the effects of
violent video games and violent television (T.V) programs on primary school boys. The school boys
were divided into non violent and violent conditions; watching a violent or non violent T.V program,
playing a violent or non violent video game or playing a game and watching a T.V program thereafter
(Meyers 2002). The children then had to answer a questionnaire ,whereby they had to finish a sentence
using a violent or non violent word, for example; I want to ___ the book (tear/read) (Meyers 2002, p.

the Bobo Doll Experiment . According to Meyers (2002), the children in the violent conditions
portrayed more aggressive behaviour patterns than the boys in the non violent condition, the boys in
the combined condition (playing a video game and watching a violent television program) had
significantly higher aggression levels than those in any other condition.

The Prayer Of The Great Commission
One of the greatest challenges for Christians is to fulfill the commandment of the Great Commission.
Wheeler and Whaley address the issue of worship and evangelism in their book The Great
Commission to Worship, and provide important principles for Christians to help them see the
relationship between worship and evangelism, and how it impacts obedience to the Great
Commission. The following reading reflection will discuss four principles that are important to the
Great Commission, and will apply those principles to current ministry.
Principles
Evangelism is one of the most important aspects of church ministry. The Lord Jesus Christ left
Christians in this world to evangelize the lost. Our eternal purpose is to glorify God in all that we ...

This is the point of worship. God must be honored and exalted. Once Christians have a true
understanding of their purpose to worship God, and to glorify His name, that will lead to them fulfill
the Great Commission. Christians will see the purpose of evangelism once worship is understood.
Worship in the New Testament can be summed up in Jesus Christ. Once Christians see the beauty of
Christ, they will want to share their faith. The pattern of worship is to get away from being busy to
spend time with Christ. This is a major problem for many Christians. We need to spend time with
Christ in prayer and worship if evangelism will be done in a way that honors God. Spending time in
God s Word, in prayer, is essential to being effective for the kingdom of God. Christians can do
nothing without the help of God, so one must spend time with Him in prayer. Daily time should be
spent prayer and worship. Finally, Christians must understand they are servants of Christ. When one
becomes a Christian, we must tell them that they are to be slaves to the Lord Jesus Christ. Usually,
Christians are doing things for the wrong reasons. A Christian should serve Christ not out of duty, but
because they know and understand that they are servants of the most high God.
Application
It is important in ministry to teach how important evangelism is to the life of the church. I used to
teach an evangelism class to equip members of the church to see the importance of evangelism. This

Differences Between Adler And Uden
Many people have different views when it comes to whether writing in books is acceptable or not.
Both Mortimer Adler and Sue Uden share personal views and opinions on the practice of writing in
books. In How to Mark a Book, Adler focuses mainly on how writing in a book is important for
understanding the reading and truly makes the book yours . Whereas in the blog, Is It Okay to Deface
Your Books? , Uden discusses how writing in books is a cardinal sin and should never be done.

She says the marking in a book is worse than writing on walls or getting something on one s clothes
because those things could be fixed and washed out, but a book is marked on forever and every time
you open that book it is there to look at you in shame. She makes her points in an almost humorous,
acceptable and sincere way and gives post it notes and scratch paper as a way to take notes without
messing up the actual book itself (Uden). Adler almost looks at not writing in books as a sin, he says
how writing in books is not an act of mutilation, but an act of love and that by writing in it, it is
absorbed into one s bloodstream (Adler 31). He makes this very personal to him because he is so
compassionate about why he believes what he believes and that allows one to also think about the
importance of writing in a personal way as well, so you see things from his point of view. In a way, his
points are given off in a less sincere and more demanding way because he feels so strongly about this
topic, but that does not discredit his ability to persuade the audience or to fully get his point

Emerson, who are at a bar and tells them that they need to come back to the office for an emergency

He is mainly concerned about how much he makes in salary. Will describes Seth rather well, saying he
is A heartless little shit. While Peter is concerned about the discovery and the negative impact it could
have on the company, Seth is goofing around and telling Peter that everyone is going out but him and
that he should have few drinks at The Grand to celebrate that they did not get laid off like many of
their coworkers. Peter then calls Seth when he discovers what is on the USB and Seth complains about
leaving the club and coming back to the office at 10:00pm. Compared to Peter, Seth cares more about

  • 2. William Shakespeare s The Trojan War Shakespeare uses the backdrop of the Trojan War in Troilus and Cressida to explore the interpretation of honor as something extrinsic without associating it with intrinsic moral values. In the seventeenth century, honour was used in four different ways: fame, renown, glory; credit, good name, reputation; noble rank, position of dignity, title of renown; source of distinction. Fame and reputation are the most common uses of honor throughout the play. Therefore, to avoid confusion and redundancy, fame and reputation will be synonymous to honor for this analysis. Curiously, honourable is defined as honest, upright, and distinguished. The adjective s definition has clear moral roots based on societal and cultural norms. Thus, in regards to morals, it seems as though during Shakespeare s time there was a clear divergence between honor and its derivatives. Therefore, by examining the significance and usage of honor throughout Troilus and Cressida, it becomes apparent that chivalrous and moral undertones are being exploited to advance glory and reputation. In the Prologue, Shakespeare presents the play with chivalrous expressions by describing the Greek invasion of Troy as a rescue mission to save the ravished Helen who is being held prisoner behind the massive walls of Troy (I.1 9). The classic damsel in distress setting. Menelaus rallied the kings and armies of Greece under this moral banner to set sail and lay siege to Troy. However, by conquering Troy and saving ... • 3. Bourgeoisie And Proletariat In Russian Revolution The conflict between different classes in a community due to competition in socioeconomic interest and desires of different classes of people is the class struggle. Class conflict is also known as class war. According to Marx theory ever since human society emerged from its primitive and relatively undifferentiated state it has remained fundamentally divided between classes who clash in the pursuit of class interest . During the ancient periods, people have been facing a lot of crisis because of creating differences among the classes of the people. The difference in upper class that includes wealthy and powerful people and lower class which includes working class is very wide. The richer and the powerful ones enjoy the highest degree and most comfortable life ,but the poorer people have to live under the control of their masters. Thus, the division between rich and poor leads to class struggle. Therefore, this essay mainly displays about bourgeoisie and proletariat and imbalance of power in ownership of public properties. • 6. Supernatural Intervention In H. P. Lovecraft s Dagon Divinely Inspired or Divinely Insane: Supernatural Intervention in Literature Throughout various genres of literature, divine or mystical intervention has played a pivotal role in revealing truths to man. In many cases, these truths prove to be too complex for the human mind to comprehend, resulting in characters to slowly become insane. The characters of Macbeth, Lady Macbeth, and Hamlet from their respective Shakespeare plays as well as the unnamed narrator in H.P. Lovecraft s short story Dagon express this belief as they each struggle to maintain sanity after their experiences with powerful, unknown forces. Supernatural beings play significant roles in several of Shakespeare s plays, but take on detrimental roles in many of his tragedies. They can be seen most prominently in what can coincidentally be considered his two most famous tragedies, Macbeth and Hamlet. While paranormal beings appear in forms of the Weird Sisters in Macbeth and the ghost of King Hamlet in Hamlet, John Gibson argues that they contribute to their plots differently. In his essay, Shakespeare s Use of the Supernatural, he argues that Hamlet s supernatural elements confirm a truth from the past, whereas in Macbeth to the future. Dr. John Charles ... Melanism is a key response to insects innate defenses that serves many functions like improving fitness. Jared Diamond discovered that approximately 13,000 years ago man started out as hunter gatherers following seasonal game migration to provide food for their survival. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 3). There have been a number of factors contributing to Greece s fiscal crisis both endogenous and exogenous. When focusing on the endogenous causes of the fiscal crisis, there is no doubt that running consistently widening public deficits in conjunction with declining external competitiveness played a decisive role on the deteriorating fiscal stance of the Greek economy (Kouretas, Vlamis, 2010, 394). Greece s deficit has risen to 12.7%, which is more than four times higher than the European rules have allowed (BBC News, 2010, para. 8). On the other hand, the main exogenous implication is the timing of response. The Eurozone governments failed to give a clear signal indicating their readiness to support Greece, while the Greek fiscal crisis was escalating, because many EU Member States were unsure of how much assistance they could individually given to a country in financial difficulty (Kouretas, Vlamis, 2010, 396). In addition, Greece has been facing problems with the underground economy, which is also known as the shadow economy. The shadow economy focuses on criminal activity, such as drugs sales, smuggling, gambling, etc. and focuses on legal transactions that are conducted in cash and unreported to fiscal or other competent authorities (Katsios, 2006, 62). Each country has their own legislation of vehicle safety which manufacture has to abide by and produce documentation to prove that the vehicle is safe, in order to sell its vehicle in that particular country. Independent testing organisations, such as Euro NCAP, perform a number of safety tests on new vehicles to confirm that the vehicle conforms to legislation [1]. These tests also score the vehicle on different safety aspects. Some manufactures use this score as a unique selling point of the vehicle so it is very important that it achieves a good score [2]. One procedure tests vehicle rollover which is a particular risk to SUV s as they tend to have a higher centre of gravity than other vehicles. This is a particular hazard as SUV s are becoming more popular in today s society [3]. Vehicle roll over fatality accounts for 35% of all passenger vehicle fatalities in the US in 2012 with 56% of fatalities occurring in SUVs [3]. The percentage of fatalities in SUV rollover has reduced since 2003 however more research is needed to reduce it further. While reading The Landmark Herodotus, I was not sure if I was reading a history book or an epic. It was written to record the events of the Persians and Hellenes, but it incorporated myths, oral traditions, and the authors opinions which made me feel like I had experienced each historic event first hand. Herodotus s writing style is unique, but in the appendix C he is criticized for sometimes being inaccurate and distorting historic facts, because he relied on people who can have faulty memories or sources of knowledge. Herodotus sometimes was not certain on some facts, but he did his best to rely on logic to make the best argument on what happened. For example, Herodotus argues that the Colchians are Egyptians. He argues this by first noting his opinion of their resemblance and then used his logic to show how they came from the army of Sesostris. Alison Bechdel dedicates her memoir to Mom, Christian, and John. We did have a lot of fun, in spite of everything . I found it odd that she didn t include her father in this as well. After all, without her father, she would not have had much of a story. He was the glue that held the whole dysfunctional family together and it was his mysterious and depraved manner that compelled me to turn each twisted page. Bechdel also mentions her family again in the acknowledgments at the end of her book, Thanks to Helen, Christian, and John Bechdel for not trying to stop me from writing this book . For example, in chapter four, Alison remembers a trip to New York City with her brothers and Roy. Alison recalls, And while I acknowledge the absurdity of claiming a connection to that mythologized flashpoint...might not a lingering vibration, a quantum particle of rebellion, still have hung in the humectant air (104). In order to be able to answer on those questions it will be necessary firstly to explain basic theoretical points about Manoeuvrist Approach, Mission command and OODA loop cycle. Throughout history, military theorists and commanders have attempted to determine and define the most effective way to defeat an adversary and achieve victory. British military doctrine defines this method as the Manoeuvrist Approach or indirect approach, which main focus is basically on attacking enemy s cohesion and will to fight rather than focusing purely on the destruction of his physical component. However, in order to be faster than enemy some preconditions have to be achieved. Firstly, according to Boyd, only decentralized military with application of mission command can have a fast OODA loop. Secondly, through decentralization, to operate successfully in fog of war we need to accept confusion and disorder, and also to generate them. • 32. Animal Farm Literary Analysis George Orwell, the writer of Animal Farm, Why I Write, and Politics and Language, was arguably one of the most influential writers of the 1900s. Orwell has written multiple pieces of literature that have helped him develop his purpose, which is to spread the message that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Ultimately, Orwell effectively fuses his political and artistic purpose into a single powerful work of art in his short novel Animal Farm. One of Orwell s most influential political novels is Animal Farm. Animal Farm is a book about a group about mistreated and abused animals who overthrow their neglectful owner and form a new society. Although their society is formed around the idea of equality, it still resulted in chaos. Orwell wrote Animal Farm as a response to communism in the Russian Revolution. Communism is extremely similar to the way things worked on Animal Farm... communism always started off with positive intentions, but ended in chaos. In the novel, Orwell does a good job of showing the reader that the animals are not undergoing the best conditions, Towards the end of the book, Orwell says, Starvation seemed to star them in the face. The following reading reflection will discuss four principles that are important to the Great Commission, and will apply those principles to current ministry. Once Christians have a true understanding of their purpose to worship God, and to glorify His name, that will lead to them fulfill the Great Commission. Christians will see the purpose of evangelism once worship is understood. Worship in the New Testament can be summed up in Jesus Christ. Once Christians see the beauty of Christ, they will want to share their faith. The pattern of worship is to get away from being busy to spend time with Christ. This is a major problem for many Christians. We need to spend time with Christ in prayer and worship if evangelism will be done in a way that honors God. Spending time in God s Word, in prayer, is essential to being effective for the kingdom of God. Christians can do nothing without the help of God, so one must spend time with Him in prayer. Daily time should be spent prayer and worship. Finally, Christians must understand they are servants of Christ. When one becomes a Christian, we must tell them that they are to be slaves to the Lord Jesus Christ. Usually, Christians are doing things for the wrong reasons. A Christian should serve Christ not out of duty, but because they know and understand that they are servants of the most high God.
