The United States Incarceration System
The United States incarceration system is a structural foundation of punishment in which is formed by
robust authoritarian power. The United States criminal justice system is not an institution to be
underestimated, as it represents the highest incarceration rate of all world nations at a staggering 700
inmates per 100 thousand citizens (Krisberg, 7). Based on the social and political structure of
democracy in the United States, it is argued that incarceration systems should follow the same roots of
equality and freedom; however, the current format demonstrates otherwise. Currently, the United
States criminal justice system faces issues of inhumane treatment due to the sheer overcrowding,
which restrict inmates from just treatment within penitentiaries. This lack of equality standards was
argued in the 2011 court case, Brown v. Plata, which California prison systems were forced to
decrease prisons overcapacity rate from 175% to 137.5% due to the overwhelming amount of inmate
mistreatment (Koehler, 3). In the decision of Brown v. Plata (2011), supreme court justice Anthony
Kennedy argued dignity should be an organizing principle in the United States justice system and
demonstrated in all correctional facilities. Anthony Kennedy, along with guest lecturer, Jonathan
Simon characterize dignity as a fundamental piece to the incarceration system, and without it, inmates
are victimized to cruel and inhumane treatment. Dignity does not consist of domination and unequal
treatment of

the most interest. As the leader of the isolated North Korea, Kim Jong un doesn t seem to have any
trouble living a lavish lifestyle like some of his western peers. So what s his secret? Let s take a look.
WHERE DOES KIM JONG UN GET HIS MONEY?
North Korea isn t exactly rich. Yet, Kim Jong un still finds the funds to splurge on giant yachts, his

Credit Repair Company Case
Upon accepting the job offer with the credit repair company a contract of employment was established
(Ashcroft Ashcroft, 1999, p. 315). Within the initial employment contracts was a confidentially
agreement. It seemed like a reasonable request, that part of the job duties were to maintain
confidentiality of trade secrets (Ashcroft Ashcroft, 1999, p. 320). The rest of the employment contracts
seemed fairly balanced. Since employment is at will meaning that the employer in this case the credit
repair company, can terminate an employee at any time for any reason, with the exception to the
reasons found illegal or for no valid reason (National Conference of State Legislatures, 2015) and the
employee was free to leave a job at any time for no reason with no adverse legal consequences
(National Conference of State Legislatures, 2015) there was no cause for concern when signing these
forms. However the job was no longer considered at will when the employer broke public policy due
requesting the employee to perform an act that state law prohibits (National Conference of State
Legislatures, 2015). The company intentionally preyed on the naĂŻve ... Show more content on

There was little need to implement procedures to protect against white collar crimes due to the
principal fully participating in the scheme. The crimes included forgery, mail fraud, stealing from
clients and securities fraud. Although most of the crimes committed were linked directly to the
principal by complying with the employer requests to create forged documents would directly
implicate the employee as a full participant of the crimes committed. Forgery is a serious offense,
punishable as a felony in all fifty states and by the federal government (Nolo, 2015) so it was not a
risk worth taking. The employer s hostility and aggressive nature when defying his requests become

Franz Kafka s Metamorphosis And Letter To My Father
Throughout Franz Kafka s childhood, as well as his rather short lived adulthood, he strove to receive
positive attention and approval from his siblings, peers, and especially his parents. In fact, Kafka later
wrote to his father, in, arguably, his most influential piece of literature, Letter to My Father, that the
entirety of My writing was all about you [Kafka s father] (Kafka 19). Hermann Kafka s excessively
large presence and constant abuse towards his son contributed greatly to influence Kafka s writing,
and much has been said about those influences, especially within one of the author s most significant
novellas, Metamorphosis. However, another of Kafka s noteworthy short stories A Hunger Artist also
portrays a great deal of the

The Day Of Diwali Festival
Assignment#4 Leadership Diwali festival is the most celebrated event in India and Indian migrants
living in Corning and nearby town get together every year in this local community. The group is called

Summary Of Lincoln s Second Inaugural Address
Abraham Lincoln s Second Inaugural Address
United States president, Abraham Lincoln, in his speech, Second Inaugural Address (March 4, 1865),
addresses the conflict of the civil war. Lincoln believes that the war begun due to slavery and that it
does not have to conquered by fighting fire with fire. He supports his claim by first addressing the
opposing views of the war. He then states how both sides searched for a way around the conflict.
Finally he speaks about what proposes shall be done during that time of war. His purpose is to address
the conflict that risen and caused the civil war, how it will be dealt with and inform the citizens of the
United States of his proposition. He adopts a solemn tone as he portrays his message throughout the
majority of the passage and transitions into a more shocked tone as he speaks of how other are dealing

the other would accept war rather than let it perish, and the war came. What he mines by this is that as

Te The Drink That Changed The World
According to Laura C. Martin, in the book, Tea: the Drink that changed the World, tea is an aromatic
beverage widely consumed around the world. The beverage is prepared by pouring boiling water over
Camellia Sinensis leaves, the major tealeaves. The leaves grow in different areas in Asia, but most
notably in Chian and India (Martin, 2007). There are a variety of tea flavors. For example, Darjeeeling
and Chinese green tea have a bitter flavor, while other teas have sweet, grassy or floral flavor
(Teavana, 2015). The Historian John Griffiths explains that upon the European colonization of North
America, the colonizers introduced tea to the colonies (Griffiths, 2007). He continues that tea appealed

All of a sudden, a light breeze caused little leaves to fall into the water. The emperor tasted the water
and found it delicious (Higgins Burke, 2014). Tea became an essential beverage in China. While the
story of tea indicates that tea was introduced from Ancient China, tea has been a crucial trade product
that travelled through centuries to reach almost every corner in the world. Higgins and Burke argue
that from China to North American, tea developed to new variations, flavors, uses, production
methods, and equipment. Also, tea rituals have developed and taken a significant place in local
cultures (Higgins Burke, 2014).
Tea in the United States:
According to the article, About American Tea culture, every time tea is introduced to a new country, it
implicates and mutates to a new tea culture that deeply influences the society (bonteavant, 2012). Tea
is probably the only beverage that spurs dramatic change in the societies to which it is introduced
providing propulsion for poetry, meditation, civil disobedience, economic shifts, social and spiritual
rituals. Also, tea has greatly been valued as a medicine or even used as currency or as food
(Bonteavant, 2012). The article mentions how tea has enhanced American economy as well as the
social and physical health of the society

Pros And Cons Of Reid Technique
Manipulative Procedures Elicits False Confessions
In many cases innocent people are convicted while criminals are free on the streets committing more
crimes. In the 1950 s John Reid created the well known Reid Technique . The technique is a process of
accusatory interviewing that leads to a development of the truth. The technique is based on science
and psychology assumptions which point out anxiety and body language as an indicator of deceitful.
Over decades the American Police Forces are relying on Reid technique to make people confess their
crimes. The Reid technique is faulty because Police interrogators does long hours of interrogations, it
is associates anxiety as an indicator of lying, and produced false confessions.

Stereotyping can be proved to be wrong, but with discrimination you can not prove it otherwise false,
if your denied rights.
What are the causes of discrimination?
The causes of discrimination are having a certain preference for different groups of people. In
example, preferring a man over a woman to be a president of a company, even though they are both
qualified the same. Being misinformed also causes discrimination. Often, racism and prejudice cause
discrimination. When an negative attitude is formed over a certain group of people, mainly the
minority group. They face a social challenge, which leads to adding a denial of certain rights to a
person. Although, discrimination is illegal, it happens often. Family type business, who can hire freely
can cause a type of discrimination. They have the choice to hire family, verses someone who is an
outsider.
Often discrimination is from our ancestors. If they had a certain way of living, it is passed on through
generation. Often, we feel like we are better than a certain group, or that a certain group may owe us
something because of our ancestors.
How is discrimination faced by one identity group (race, ethnicity, religious beliefs, gender, sexual
orientation, age, or disability) the same as discrimination faced by another? How are they different?
Discrimination

Bounty Hunter Career Paper
The career of a bounty hunter or also known as bail enforcement agent is very interesting and exciting.
Bounty hunters are people who catches criminals who have not been caught by the police in exchange
for a reward. A modern bounty hunter do not kill the criminal, which is different from old western bail
enforcement agents of the 1800 s. The reason why I choose this career is because I currently work as a
process server at Legal Papers Inc. The roles of a process server and bounty hunter are different but in
some ways very similar. A bounty hunter s role within the criminal justice system is bring hiding or

Valuing people based upon their different races, religions or lack thereof, sexual orientations, genders,
ages, height, weight, nationalities, political affiliations, and transgendered status, can definitely work
to a private investigation company s advantage. If the owner or hiring manager of a private detective
agency is a middle aged, white, conservative, Christian male, then he is likely to hire in other people
who are like he is. Of course, the same can hold true for females, those who are black, Hispanic, more
liberal, Muslim, Buddhist, female, and etc. Unfortunately, this happens all too often across all
backgrounds, countries, etc. This often unfairly excludes private investigators who are otherwise very
qualified candidates from the job

Gospel of Matthew Essay example
The Teachings of Matthew
The Gospel according to Matthew is the first book in the New Testament, and also serves as a bridge
between the Old Testament and the New Testament. The gospel tells us of Jesus and his teachings. It is
believed that the Gospel originated with Matthew, one of Jesus disciples, and it circulated
anonymously (Harris 149). The message in this gospel was compiled to minister to a Jewish and
Jewish Christian community when tensions between early Christians and postwar Jewish leaders
aggravated bitter controversy. The Gospel of Matthew was written as an encouragement to the Greek
speaking Jewish Christians and Gentiles who were, at least partly, Torah observant during the 80s C.E.

(Isaiah 53:4)
In all his teaching to the crowds Jesus spoke in parables; in fact he never spoke to them without a
parable. This was to fulfill the prophecy of Isaiah: I will open my mouth in parables;
I will utter things kept secret since the world was made.
(Matthew 13:34 34) Mark my teaching, O my people, listen to the words I am to speak.
I will tell you a story with a meaning,
I will expound the riddle of things past, things that we have heard and know,
And our fathers have repeated to us.
(Psalms 78:2)
All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: The virgin will be with child
and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel , which means #8722; #8722; God with
us .
(Matthew 1:22 23) Therefore, the lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and
will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.
(Isaiah 7:14)
(Harris 149 and 150) Matthew s teachings in the scripture insisted that Christians were to fast, pray
regularly, give charitable, and practice formal sacrifices (Matthew 6:16 18, 6:5 6, 6:2, and 5:23).

Analysis Of The Poem The Tigers Aunt Jennifer s Tigers
In reference to the subordinate position of women in American society, Malala Yousafzai once
interestingly stated We cannot all succeed when half of us are held back. This idea of women being
held back and unable to exercise their individual identities in society is explored in Adrienne Rich s
Aunt Jennifer s Tigers. Specifically, the woman poet examines the marginalization of women in
society through the clear juxtaposition of Aunt Jennifer s desire to be powerful like the fearless tigers,
and the reality of her life as the subject of subjugation by her husband. In reading about the unfair
oppression of Aunt Jennifer by a man, I became extremely emotional because I have a younger sister
and involuntarily envisioned my own role in contributing to an American patriarchal society that
devalues women and strips them of influence because of my own status as a male. Through the first
stanza of the poem, the tigers Aunt Jennifer hopes to embody are quickly revealed and characterized
by their fearless and powerful qualities. Their unique attributes are revealed when the poet writes:
Aunt Jennifer s tigers prance across a screen... They do not fear the men beneath the tree; / They pace
in sleek chivalric certainty. Just as art is a manifestation of the human mind and spirit, the tigers Aunt
Jennifer creates through art are representative of the qualities she hopes to have in her own life. They
are powerful figures who do not fear the men beneath the tree and instead pace in

Analysis Of Mary Shelly s Frankenstein

English/ Frankenstein

Good or Evil?
Frankenstein is a nonfiction novel written by Mary Shelly in 1818. The story starts when a student is
studying in college and he creates a creature that is overtaking everything. Victor, Creature s creator,
thinks he is beautiful then realizes the horrible looks of him so he runs away from him. This creature
just wants the love of a human because he does not feel human without that, just like every other
human being in the world. The monster has traveled all through the town and come across something
that he was not happy with so he made some not so good decisions through his journey. Throughout
this novel the creature has tried to get humans to realize that he is a genuinely good person, but every
time, they seem him as a creature that was made of spare animal and human parts. Victor does not
even realize that he is treating him this way but as they continue there are even more people that just
look on the outside of him instead of the actions or words he was doing or saying. Thematically, many
people see the evil in a person before they are able to realize that before the good they are trying to do
for them. When the creature was first created by Victor was very pleased by his creation. He was
proud of what he had produced from the numerous hours of dedication to create the prefect being.
Victor says, I had worked hardly for two years, for the sole purpose of infusing life into an

H.P. Lovecraft’s Fascination in Supernatural Theories Essay
H.P. Lovecraft s fascination in supernatural theories plays into a main basis for his novels. (Wohleber)
With the unknown lurking, Lovecraft incorporates horror through the use of psychological fear as a
form of expression making it become crucial for many of his works. At the Mountains of Madness
encompasses this thought by the expeditions before and after effects on the characters. The urge to be
a success fills the scientists up with courage to embark on such a dangerous trip; however, after the
trip the survivors, Danforth and Dyer, had lost all sense of sanity. On our return Danforth was close to

The horror felt by the characters in the novel are not those of pain, but simply the fear of knowing the
unsuspected truth hiding just beneath the surface of things. (Wohleber.) Lovecraft s writing goes
beyond what tends to be said as horror by using madness in his characters, suspicion and discovery to
the surroundings and the belief of supernatural beings upon us on Earth.(Wohleber.) Such statements
tamper with the mind because with enough evidence one can only wonder whether situations in life
like that can happen. Throughout the book the confusion only grows more by showing how their
suspicion makes them come up with ideas that didn t even happen. When arriving at base and having
only one person a group of dogs missing while everyone else is dead can only make someone bring up
ideas on who is behind it all. Situations like these tamper with the characters head only leading them
to further insanity. Lovecraft works with the nature of fear in literature. He possesses an understanding
of the psychological basis of horror appeal. (Burleson.) Although it is said he was influenced by Poe,
Lovecraft revised what Poe does in his writings. Poe questions the existence of the characters
themselves while Lovecraft deprives the mental wellness of the characters by questioning what their
eyes and ears see or hear.

more than one way of expressing the correct answer, whereas opinion might in addition to also consist
of unsubstantiated information, in contrast to knowledge and fact based beliefs. Some have argued
that the distinction between objective and subjective assessments is neither useful nor accurate
because, in reality, there is no such thing as objective assessment. In fact, all assessments are created
with inherent biases built into decisions about the relevant subject matter and content, as well as

Capssaicin Research Paper
Capsaicin is a chemical that is found in chili peppers which causes the heat when you eat spicy foods.
In order to detect the capsaicin that is found in the foods that you eat, your body has receptors on
sensory neurons. The receptors are known as capsaicin receptors and found in the dendrites of the
sensory neurons better known as nociceptors. (Caterina) When your body receives that feeling of pain
or heat, it is due to capsaicin receptor recognizing capsaicin, but also the ability of the capsaicin
receptor to act as an ion channel, which is found in a category known as the transient receptor
potential channels. (Fox) Capsaicin will stimulate and excite the capsaicin receptor. When the receptor
is excited it allows the entrance of Calcium (Ca+2) and Sodium (Na+). (Fox) When the calcium and
sodium rush into the cell it will cause the cell to depolarize. Once the cell depolarizes, it will cause the

knight into her enchanted cave where the woman cried. This is another way the woman is deceiving
the knight. She is making the knight feel sorry for her. The knight comforts her with four kisses. The
knight then trusts the woman enough to fall asleep. While the knight is sleeping, he describes a
nightmare that he had. The kings and the princes are warning him of this woman. They tell him that he

The Glass Menagerie And Winnie Holzman And Stephen...
Theater has been a platform that has been used to deepen our communication and understanding of the
complexities of the world around us. It teaches us through language, movement, and the establishment
of intimate relationships that play to the contagious nature of emotions.
The majority of the 20th century saw a utilization of plays as a tool to stimulate social change,
provoke viewers to assess the foundation of what they believe, and an attempt to depict humanity as it
truly was. In comparison, though not totally in abandonment, the later 20th century and early 21th
century brought to life a more flashy, commercialized interpretation of this tool, and played to the
societal theme of entertainment, as seen in the increase of musical theater (Janaro). A true example of
this stark contrast is Tennessee Williams tragedy The Glass Menagerie and Winnie Holzman and
Stephen Schwartz s mega musical Wicked. Although from fundamentally different eras and using the
employment of distinctive structures that correlate with the different branches of theater, at the core,
these stories speak to the same idea of freedom as discussed in the Janaro text.
Through assessing the actual elements of these theatrical pieces, there are a lot of similar motifs
advanced by both works. In both cases, there is an overarching theme of the characters being divergent
from cultural expectations, the ideal of fatherhood is outlined as symbol of contempt and
abandonment, there is prevalence of both

Anne Bonney was born on March 8, 1698. Died April 22, 1782. Her parents were Mary Brennan,
William Comac. Anne bonney was an Irish woman who became a famous pirate, operating in the
Caribbean. What little is known of her life come largely from Captain Charles Johnson s a general
history of the pirates. Anne Bonney was a strong, independent woman who was way ahead of her
time. Eighteenth century, was still a time when man made all time when women did not have many
rights. In this men s world, it was hard for Anne Bonney to become an equal crewmember and a
respected pirate. Anne Bonney, born in County Cork, Ireland, was the illegitimate daughter of lawyer

The Gospel Of John The Baptist
Everyone, who has studied the Gospel, has heard of John the Baptist. He had prepared the way for
Jesus ministry long before He came to earth. He was just a man, who baptized other people, who
believed. There is a lot more to John the Baptist though.
1. It is written that John the Baptist was to fulfill a prophesy mentioned from Isaiah about a messenger
being sent ahead, and a voice crying out in the wilderness (Isaiah 40:3 5.)
2. Malachi also prophesied about John in Malachi 3:1.
3. Zechariah and Elizabeth was a couple in their old age. They were just ordinary people who lived in
the course of Abia, until Gabriel (or an angel of the Lord, mentioned in this section,) had foretold of
their son s birth John the Baptist (Luke 1:11 17.) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many people were brought to Jesus through John (Matthew 3:5 6.)
10. In Matthew 3, John the Baptist preached in the wilderness of Judea (Matthew 3:1.) It is stated that
John the Baptist lived as a timid man and was straight to the point. My assumption is he did not enjoy
preaching in a town. He probably would feel very uncomfortable, so he chose to teach in the
wilderness.
11. John the Baptist is the one who baptized Jesus (Matthew 3:13 17.)
12. John didn t intend to baptize Jesus. Immediately, he recognized that Jesus was sinless. John the
Baptist knew Jesus was God s prophesied Son, who he had been teaching about. In fact, John the
Baptist went as far as to say, I should be the one getting baptized by you! (Matthew 3:14.) What an
experience it must have been to baptize Jesus!
13. John baptized Jesus in the Jordan River (Mark 1:9.)
14. According to John 3:27 30, the people, who John the Baptist taught, thought he was the Messiah.
15. John was humble and said I m not worthy of even carrying His sandals (Matthew 3:11.)
16. Not only did the people think John the Baptist was Christ, but they also had a few other ideas
about who he was. Also, they thought he was Elijah or another prophet. All they knew is he was filled
with miraculous power. People had no idea that the power wasn t coming from him, but from God
within him (John 1:21.)
17. According to Mark 8:27 28, people thought Jesus was John the Baptist! Seemingly,

Jane JacobsÂŽ Theory of Development
Today we are concerned with the development of wealth inequality and the serious outcomes that may
come about because of this huge impact on the majority of the population of the United States, the
99%. According to Jane Jacobs theory of development, Development is differentiation emerging from
generality. (Jacobs 16). In other words, Jacobs s concept of development basically starts off as simple
air made out of animate or inanimate subject, also known as generality. Differentiations emerged is the
development of any process taken after generality. Development is an open ended process which
creates complexity and diversity; these are the effects of a simple event repeated over and over again.
The concept of development implies change, more precisely, economic development implies change,
change for the better. Economic development refers to producing and consuming. Economic progress
is bonded with urbanization and its impact on human s everyday life and social evolution. As cities,
being the center of culture and material prosperity, and through cities, there are increases in capital,
plus the collection of just about sustainable materials. In the outcome, are cities the cause of economic
development? Well, this retraces all the way to the periods of hunters and gatherers. Thousands of
years before anyone had a glimmer of evolutionary or biological development process, people were
fostering differentiated

Anthem And The Island Comparison Essay
n my mind this means in you can grant someone with freedom, do not worry about getting it yourself
you do not deserve it. These two stories affected me because I value having my freedom. All the
similarities and differences are related to the way the society runs and it s lack of freedom. Within this
essay, I am going to tell you about how the book Anthem and the movie The Island are similar and
different.
The first similarity between the book Anthem and the movie The Island is that the main characters
have inquiring minds. For example, Lincoln 6 Echo has been curious about the society he has learned
to adapt and live in. He had been very inquisitive about the way things go on in the labs and around
the society. Due to him having such a curious ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Castro Rise To Power
Many people welcomed Castro into their country with a relief that someone was finally going to save
them from their previous dictator but they were wrong. Not knowing what the result was going to be
they adored him from saving cubans from the corrupt dictator that U.S. backed up. Castro turned out
to be their most corrupt dictator they ever had. Cubans believed that Castro was going to be a lifesaver

support his people by providing some education by providing tutors and teachers to teach the people

Mistero Buffo Analysis
The Middle Ages are rarely considered a time of blossoming comedy, but the comic mystery cycle,
known as Mistero Buffo, brought a bit of frivolous light to the Dark Ages. As explained in Dario Fo s
analysis of these plays, jongleurs played a precarious position in society: improving morale of the
masses by mocking the rich and ordained, yet keeping out from under the footsteps of those
lampooned. This was no more popular than during the feast of fools, where the working class gathered
to enjoy the jongleurs performances and release frustrations about the class system, while masking it
with a religious moral. Often performed at this event was the Mistero Buffo (Fo, 1 14), which
similarly juxtaposed relevant satire and biblical passages through stock characters, Aristotelian values
of comedy, and an underlying breakdown of degree and religion. Medieval comedy, much like modern
comedy, relied on certain stereotypical tropes and stock characters, many of which are consistent with
those seen in the various plays in Mistero Buffo. An almost introspective look on the jongleur, the
oxymoronic clever fool in Death and the Fool is a speaker of truths beautifully interwoven with lies.
Death and the Fool also provides the archetypal female characteristic of lavishing in compliments in
the almost giddy nature of the female Death. Murder of the Innocents also provides several stock
characters, including the obedient soldier and the hysterical mother figure, although both are

order to establish this for each of the suspects Keeler developed several different techniques to

  • 2. The United States Incarceration System The United States incarceration system is a structural foundation of punishment in which is formed by robust authoritarian power. The United States criminal justice system is not an institution to be underestimated, as it represents the highest incarceration rate of all world nations at a staggering 700 inmates per 100 thousand citizens (Krisberg, 7). Based on the social and political structure of democracy in the United States, it is argued that incarceration systems should follow the same roots of equality and freedom; however, the current format demonstrates otherwise. Currently, the United States criminal justice system faces issues of inhumane treatment due to the sheer overcrowding, which restrict inmates from just treatment within penitentiaries. This lack of equality standards was argued in the 2011 court case, Brown v. Plata, which California prison systems were forced to decrease prisons overcapacity rate from 175% to 137.5% due to the overwhelming amount of inmate mistreatment (Koehler, 3). In the decision of Brown v. Plata (2011), supreme court justice Anthony Kennedy argued dignity should be an organizing principle in the United States justice system and demonstrated in all correctional facilities. Anthony Kennedy, along with guest lecturer, Jonathan Simon characterize dignity as a fundamental piece to the incarceration system, and without it, inmates are victimized to cruel and inhumane treatment. Dignity does not consist of domination and unequal treatment of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Credit Repair Company Case Upon accepting the job offer with the credit repair company a contract of employment was established (Ashcroft Ashcroft, 1999, p. 315). Within the initial employment contracts was a confidentially agreement. It seemed like a reasonable request, that part of the job duties were to maintain confidentiality of trade secrets (Ashcroft Ashcroft, 1999, p. 320). The rest of the employment contracts seemed fairly balanced. Since employment is at will meaning that the employer in this case the credit repair company, can terminate an employee at any time for any reason, with the exception to the reasons found illegal or for no valid reason (National Conference of State Legislatures, 2015) and the employee was free to leave a job at any time for no reason with no adverse legal consequences (National Conference of State Legislatures, 2015) there was no cause for concern when signing these forms. However the job was no longer considered at will when the employer broke public policy due requesting the employee to perform an act that state law prohibits (National Conference of State Legislatures, 2015). The company intentionally preyed on the naĂŻve ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The crimes included forgery, mail fraud, stealing from clients and securities fraud. • 5. Franz Kafka s Metamorphosis And Letter To My Father Throughout Franz Kafka s childhood, as well as his rather short lived adulthood, he strove to receive positive attention and approval from his siblings, peers, and especially his parents. In fact, Kafka later wrote to his father, in, arguably, his most influential piece of literature, Letter to My Father, that the entirety of My writing was all about you [Kafka s father] (Kafka 19). Hermann Kafka s excessively large presence and constant abuse towards his son contributed greatly to influence Kafka s writing, and much has been said about those influences, especially within one of the author s most significant novellas, Metamorphosis. However, another of Kafka s noteworthy short stories A Hunger Artist also portrays a great deal of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Specifically, the woman poet examines the marginalization of women in society through the clear juxtaposition of Aunt Jennifer s desire to be powerful like the fearless tigers, and the reality of her life as the subject of subjugation by her husband. In reading about the unfair oppression of Aunt Jennifer by a man, I became extremely emotional because I have a younger sister and involuntarily envisioned my own role in contributing to an American patriarchal society that devalues women and strips them of influence because of my own status as a male. Through the first stanza of the poem, the tigers Aunt Jennifer hopes to embody are quickly revealed and characterized by their fearless and powerful qualities. The horror felt by the characters in the novel are not those of pain, but simply the fear of knowing the unsuspected truth hiding just beneath the surface of things. (Wohleber.) Lovecraft s writing goes beyond what tends to be said as horror by using madness in his characters, suspicion and discovery to the surroundings and the belief of supernatural beings upon us on Earth.(Wohleber.) Such statements tamper with the mind because with enough evidence one can only wonder whether situations in life like that can happen. Throughout the book the confusion only grows more by showing how their suspicion makes them come up with ideas that didn t even happen. When arriving at base and having only one person a group of dogs missing while everyone else is dead can only make someone bring up ideas on who is behind it all. Situations like these tamper with the characters head only leading them to further insanity. Lovecraft works with the nature of fear in literature. He possesses an understanding of the psychological basis of horror appeal. (Burleson.) Although it is said he was influenced by Poe, Lovecraft revised what Poe does in his writings. It teaches us through language, movement, and the establishment of intimate relationships that play to the contagious nature of emotions. The majority of the 20th century saw a utilization of plays as a tool to stimulate social change, provoke viewers to assess the foundation of what they believe, and an attempt to depict humanity as it truly was. In comparison, though not totally in abandonment, the later 20th century and early 21th century brought to life a more flashy, commercialized interpretation of this tool, and played to the societal theme of entertainment, as seen in the increase of musical theater (Janaro). A true example of this stark contrast is Tennessee Williams tragedy The Glass Menagerie and Winnie Holzman and Stephen Schwartz s mega musical Wicked. In other words, Jacobs s concept of development basically starts off as simple air made out of animate or inanimate subject, also known as generality. Differentiations emerged is the development of any process taken after generality. Development is an open ended process which creates complexity and diversity; these are the effects of a simple event repeated over and over again. • 42. Mistero Buffo Analysis The Middle Ages are rarely considered a time of blossoming comedy, but the comic mystery cycle, known as Mistero Buffo, brought a bit of frivolous light to the Dark Ages. As explained in Dario Fo s analysis of these plays, jongleurs played a precarious position in society: improving morale of the masses by mocking the rich and ordained, yet keeping out from under the footsteps of those lampooned. This was no more popular than during the feast of fools, where the working class gathered to enjoy the jongleurs performances and release frustrations about the class system, while masking it with a religious moral. Often performed at this event was the Mistero Buffo (Fo, 1 14), which similarly juxtaposed relevant satire and biblical passages through stock characters, Aristotelian values of comedy, and an underlying breakdown of degree and religion. Medieval comedy, much like modern comedy, relied on certain stereotypical tropes and stock characters, many of which are consistent with those seen in the various plays in Mistero Buffo. An almost introspective look on the jongleur, the oxymoronic clever fool in Death and the Fool is a speaker of truths beautifully interwoven with lies. Death and the Fool also provides the archetypal female characteristic of lavishing in compliments in the almost giddy nature of the female Death.
