John Keats Homer, Fears, Nightingale, And Urn
The Power of Keats Poems
(An Analysis of Keats Poems called Homer, Fears, Nightingale, and Urn)
John Keats was a romantic poet in the early 1800s. He lived from 1975 to 1821, a rather short
lived life and died at the young age of just twenty five. Although Keats died at a young age, the
years that he lived he created a huge impact on society with his poems. Keats developed an interest
in poetry and reading at a young age, setting him up to become an avid poet. John Keats expressed
one major message in each of the poems called On First Looking Into Chapman s Homer, When I
Have Fears That I May Cease to Be, Ode to a Nightingale, and Ode on a Grecian Urn.
In the poem On First Looking Into Chapman s Homer, John Keats emphasizes the message of
exploration, amazement, and ambition. Keats, a typical romantic poet, is intrigued with nature.
In the first four lines of the poem, Keats is searching for something, making the reader ponder.
Yet did I never breathe its pure serene (line 7). Line seven expresses the beauty of the poem and
reveals how it isn t the content of the poem, rather the language. Keats expresses amazement in
this poem by implying the moment that he read Homer s work. He is truly moved by his work
and is truly interested in the language and imagery of Homer s work. It inspired John Keats to
write this poem. Ambition was a key characteristic of John Keats. He was always looking forward
to new and better projects that urged him to become a better poet.

Information Systems, Idexx Neo, And Onward Vet Essay
The veterinary industry is rapidly evolving with large increases in the need for current
technology. This applies to all aspects of the field, but most commonly recognized in the area of
practice management. The development of practice management software allows financial and
medical data, staff and patient scheduling, inventory, and other information to be easily stored
(Downing, Sirois, Thomas 2016). There are many software programs available today with
options for every type of practice. Three different software programs will be discussed in the
following pages: VIA Information Systems, Idexx Neo, and Onward Vet. VIA Information
Systems (VIA) was founded in 1999 by VCA Antech. VCA Antech is a pet healthcare service
provider made up of a network of animal hospitals, diagnostics, imaging, practice management and
laboratory services nationwide (VIA, Company, Our Mission). VIA offers a wide array of features
to mediate accurate and efficient practice management including SOAP charting, treatment plans,
lab integration, DICOM imaging, inventory, and electronic flow sheets. VIA provides top of the
line management services with intuitive functionality, however the services and support do come
with a price. Although VIA s website suggests contacting the company for a pricing quote,
software review site Capterra.com (2016) reports a costs of approximately $2,900 per user. Support

The Government Of India ( Goi ) Proposed Ban On Tobacco...
The Government of India (GOI) proposed ban on tobacco advertising was not unusual keeping in
view the international precedents. Countries like France, Finland, and Norway had already
imposed similar bans. An example is Belgium whose Supreme Court (of Appeal in 1981, gave its
ruling that a ban on tobacco advertising was not unconstitutional. In a case which started in 1991
and ended in 1997, RJ Reynolds TobaccoCompany, marketer of Camel cigarettes, was forced to
withdraw its mascot, Joe Carmel, an animated camel, from all its advertisements, after the
California Supreme Court (USA) ruled that the company could be prosecuted for exploiting minors.
The accusation was that the slick, colourful advertisements (using an animated camel) appealed to
the children and encouraged them to smoke.
The impact of cigarette advertising on consumers was another contentious issue. A World Bank
report published the details of a comprehensive study of over 100 countries, comparing the
consumption trends over time in those countries where relatively complete bans on advertising and
promotion were and where were no such bans. In the countries with nearly complete bans, the
downward trend in consumption was much steeper. In 1992, the Department of Health (DOH), UK
reviewed various forms of evidence to assess whether tobacco advertising affected the aggregate
demand for tobacco products. Four countries (Norway, Finland, Canada and New Zealand) were
chosen, as these countries had already imposed an

Irony In Mark Twain s The Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn
Comedy as a genre has a purpose of amusing audiences in literature. Born in ancient Greece in 6th
century BCE (before common era), comedy was utilized to make fun of politicians, philosophers,
and artists(). Today, the evolution of literature expresses various ideas and emotions represented
through comedy. Authors use comedy in literature to allow audiences to receive messages in a
lighthearted manner.
Authors of children s books apply comedy to their work with an underlying moral lesson. Dr.
Theodor Seuss Geisel, famously known as Dr. Seuss, wrote books that taught children life lessons
without their knowledge. Seuss s book The Lorax educated young readers on the importance of the
world s natural resources and ecosystem through whimsical rhymes ... Show more content on

According to Dictionary.com, irony is defined as a technique of indicating, as through character
or plot development, an intention or attitude opposite to that which is actually or ostensibly
stated. Authors use comedy to express irony in way way that readers will understand. Mark
Twain manipulates comedy and irony and creates characters identical to Miss Watson in
Huckleberry Finn. Mark Twain s Adventures of Huckleberry Finn follows Huck Finn in Missouri
getting civilized by Miss Watson and an unnamed widow. Huck has just come into some money
after Tom Sawyer and he is now expected to become a gentleman. He finds this task grueling and
instead avoids baths and pucks on innocent people, including Miss Watson s slave, Jim. Huck s
father returns and demands money from him. Huck tells him that he s too late and his father makes
him live with him by a lake. Huck cannot turn to this lifestyle, resulting in his faking his death. He
moves to an island where he encounters Jim; they decide to team up. The story follows them along
their adventure. Miss Watson s character shows comedic irony through her practices. She teaches
Finn about religious matters and what he should do to get to heaven. The irony is that she own
slaves, a practice not accepted in the bible (Twain 14). The Grangerfords and Shepherdsons
humorously brought guns to church and they ...kept them between their knees or stood them handy
against the wall. (Twain 129). Twain was poking fun at the families because of their

The Role Of Family And Caretakers Relationships
Bipolar disorder is a mood disorder that often leads to a disruptive lifestyle. It is a subgroup of
bipolar I which is manic and depressive episodes and bipolar II which is hypomanic and
depressive episodes. However, very little research has been done in terms of how this disorder
impacts family members and caretakers. The rationale behind this topic is to examine some of the
research done involving strengths and struggles of familyand caretakers relationships. The articles
that will be discussed include: Family Functioning in the Context of Parental Bipolar Disorder:
Association with Offspring Age, Sex, and Psychopathology, Relatives Emotional Involvement
Moderates the Effects of Family Therapy for Bipolar, and In sickness and in health: The
experiences of friends and relatives caring for people with manic depression.
While reading these articles I noticed many of them had similar themes. One of the common themes
throughout these articles is the need to continuously do more research and provide more resources
for the caretakers. Another recurring topic in the articles was the importance family relationships
have on the individual with bipolar disorder and their outcomes with treatment, along with how
these interactions affect the other members of the family. A strength that was present in each article
was the depth of detail presented in each study; this description will make it easier to replicate the
studies. These commonalities throughout the articles may be

The Causes Of Organized Crime In Italy In The 18th Century
Crime figures show that Italy is ranked the 4th highest total crimes amongst the EU states in 2002.
Their total is 2.2 million crimes behind the UK(6.52 Million), Germany(6.51 Million) and
France(3.8 Million). This means globally they have the highest percentage of crimes, which is
24.5% of its population. (Italy Crime Stats) In the 18th century, organized crimein Italy and its
criminal organizations have infiltrated the social and economic life of many regions particularly in
Southern Italy. Sicilain Mafiais suposedly the most notorious. They say that this would later expand
into some foreign countries including the United States.
There are five mafia like organizations that are known to Italy and they are: Cosa Nostra of
Sicily, Ndrangheta Of Calabri, These two are considered to be the biggest cocaine mugglers in
Europe, and Camorra of Naples, are the oldest of five, having started development between 1500
and 1800. When the 20th century came about there were two new organizations that came about,
Stidda and Sacra Corona Unita of Apulia.(Organized)
With all of the above being said there should be some type of way that we can make sure that the
cocain is not being sumggled into these places. Man y crimes in the US are the same as Italy, the
way they are handled are very different. The FBI refers to the gangs listed above as Italian
Organized Crime (IOC). FBI has estimated that with all the four groups together they have around

Creationism in Public School Science Class Essay
Should history teachers teach that the Holocaust happened and that it didn t
happen? If not, then why should science teachers teach that life evolved over billions of
years, and that it was created as it is now just six thousand years ago? Creationism should
not be taught in science class because it has no supporting evidence, it is not equal to
evolution, and religious myths can not be taught in public schools in an officially non
religious nation.
...[I]ndividual scientists and philosophers of science have provided substantive
critiques of intelligent design, demonstrating significant conceptual flaws in its

These issues are looked
upon as evil by the born again Christian community, and they are saying that evolution is
evil too. Ham also makes the argument that public schools are now anti Christian and
even atheistic. The creationists argue that creationism is scientific fact, evolution isn t,
evolution is evil, and that public schools are anti Christian.
There are many things wrong with Ken Ham s argument, but one thing is true,
however he is wrong to think it is a bad thing. Public schools are anti Christian. It is good
that they are, because it is extremely important that they be anti Christian, Muslim,
Jewish, Hindu, Pagan, etc. Public schools are government institutions. According to the
Constitution, the government will not establish a religion, nor will it be biased towards
any one religion. Why should schools teach the Judeo Christian Islamic myth of creation,
and not the Hindu myth, or the Pagan myth, or any other religion s story of a so called
beginning to everything, and its advancement?
Creationists also often argue that evolution is just a theory. This is true, but so is
sexual reproduction, gravity, humans need water to survive, and all other scientific facts
based on evidence (also called theories). Theory has two different meanings. One is the
scientific one, the one that means fact based on

What Is The Implementation Of PPP In The Compensation System
3.1.1 Implementation Mechanisms
Implementation of PPP in the liability and compensation regime is seen through adequate reference
to mechanisms such as compulsory insurance and compensation funds whereby a ship owner is
required to constitute a fund with the Court for the total limit of his liability to avail the benefit of
limitation , and maintain compulsory insurance certified by the appropriate State authority for any
ship carrying more than 2,000 tons of oil .
3.1.2 Loss of Right to Limit Liability
There is very narrow scope for a ship owner to be exonerated from strict liability. It requires proof
that damage resulted from war or was wholly caused by an intentional act or omission of a third
party or by negligence of an authority ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Small Tanker Oil Pollution Indemnification Fund (STOPIA) was established to raise maximum
amount of compensation payable for small ships and the Tanker Oil Pollution Indemnification
Agreement (TOPIA) was established to indemnify the supplementary fund 50% of the
compensation amount it pays in event of an oil pollution accident.
Considering the costs of some of the biggest oil spills in history, the SF holds adequate funds to
deal with oil spills of high magnitudes; till date no incident has required compensation from the SF
. The liability and compensation provisions of the CLC and FC satisfy the main components the
PPP by allowing the victims impartial access to remedies and allocating costs of pollution damage,
emergency response and clean up to the polluters .
The abovementioned factors show that the Conventions have come a far way in achieving a
perfect balance in burden sharing among the shipping and oil industries, adapting the polluter pays
theory to the extent feasible. Disturbing this balance for the few incidents where admissible claims
exceeded the limits under the 1992 CLC and FC would mean disturbing a widely accepted, well
tested and successful system operating on an international level .
An interesting view is raised by Chao Wu in his paper on threats to the International Convention
System; he questions the fairness in expecting the transporter and cargo owners to bear all the costs

The Supreme Courts Failures Culminated Together
For more than decades the court has continued to be pivotal in some of the biggest decisions for the
social identity of America. Specifically noting that for many years the majority of Americans
supported things that shaped the identity of American history (i.e. Slavery, Gay marriage, Sodomy,
etc.). Erwin Chemernisky continues to examine whether the courts roles in major social issues have
failed the American people or not. Erwin continues to explain that the supreme courts failures
culminated together, are not only a failure for race issues in America, but also a failure to interpret
the constitutioneffectively (21). These broad generalizations of the court flourish throughout his
book, however, it is final assessment of the court that leaves the most to be contended with.
Specifically noting that overall the court has done way more harm than good with regards to
addressing minority issues an in wake of the warren court has continued to make flawed decisions
in favor of the majority (53). This rhetoric must be addressed and analyzed by first looking to
professor Erwin s view of the courts take on minority, secondly analyzing his take on the court
before and after the warren era and lastly addressing his support and analysis of the purpose of
judicial review. Through this analysis it will become evident that Erwin Chemernisky has
misinterpreted the supreme courts position as a protector of minority rights instead of the upholder
and interpreter of the constitution and law.

Slavery In African American Slavery
In the Americas, slavery was based on the plantation, an agricultural enterprise that brought
together large numbers of workers under the control of a single owner. This imbalance magnified
the possibility of slave resistance and made it necessary to police the system rigidly. It encouraged
the creation of a sharp boundary between slaveryand freedom. Labor on slave plantations was far
more demanding than in the household slavery common in Africa, and the death rate among
slaves much higher. In the New World, slavery would come to be associated with race, a concept
that drew a permanent line between whites and blacks. Unlike in Africa, slaves in the Americas
who became free always carried with them in their skin color the mark of bondage... Show more

Benefits of Omega-3 Fatty Acids Essay
More and more research studies are finding that getting enough Omega 3 fatty acids is critical to
our health in many ways. Omega 3 fats are essential for the survival of the human body, but our
bodies can t manufacture them on their own, so we need to get them from the foods we eat.
Good dietary sources of Omega 3 fatty acids are fish and seafood, like salmon, tuna, sardines,
halibut, herring, algae and krill, plus some plants and nut oils such as flaxseeds and flaxseed oil,
canola oil, soybeans and soybean oil, pumpkin seeds and pumpkin seed oil, purslane, perilla seed
oil, and walnuts and walnut oil.

This diet includes very little meat, which is high in omega 6 fatty acids, and includes foods rich
in Omega 3s such as whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables, fish, olive oil, and garlic, and
drinking wine in moderation. Numerous studies have shown that those who follow this type of diet
are less prone to develop heart disease.
Omega 3s may also be beneficial for:
High cholesterol
Those on a Mediterranean style diet are prone to have higher HDL, or good cholesterol levels,
which help support heart health. Inuit Eskimos, who get plenty of Omega 3s from eating fatty
fish, also tend to have increased HDL cholesterol and decreased triglycerides, or fats in the blood.
Research studies have shown that fish oil supplements reduce triglyceride levels. Finally, walnuts
(that contain high levels of alpha linolenic acid, or ALA, which is type of Omega 3 fatty acid) have
been reported to lower total cholesterol and triglycerides in people who have high cholesterol levels.
High blood pressure
Studies have shown that people with hypertension were able to lower their blood pressure by
consuming diets high in Omega 3 fatty acids or taking fish oil supplements. After analyzing the
results of 17 clinical studies using fish oil supplements, researchers determined that taking 3 or
more grams of fish oil per day may lower blood pressure in people with untreated hypertension.

Contemporary Issues In Social Policy
Contemporary Issues in Social Policy
By Nazia Howell
October 2017
Social policy refers to the policies used by government for welfare and social protection (Spicker,
P.) that are usually made by central Government and implemented by local authorities to tackle
current social issues such as poverty and racism. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have now
devolved and have their own laws and legislations on several issues.
This essay will explore three contemporary issues in relation to social policy, whilst supporting
these issues with legislation and economic context for each issue.
The three issues that will be explored are: Welfare, Health and Pensions. Defining social policy, and
understanding social policy becomes imperative, to enable understanding of the contemporary
issues within it.
Social policy was introduced in the early 19th Century, post war. At this time, William Beveridge
introduced the idea of a Welfare Stateto address poverty. He released a report for social reform
known as the five giants within society: squalor, disease, ignorance, idleness and want. The
welfare state brought many positive improvements in Britain and Government passed reforms to
address the poverty levels, introducing cradle to grave support. The National Health Service was
set up which gave free health care to all and laws and Acts were put in place to help the young,
the old, the sick the unemployed and the working class in times of need. The five issues raised by

Maryland Crime
Crimes are happening everyday in our lives and there is no way of predicting when and what can
happen to us, though we could be more careful and prevent it from happening. Baltimore,
Maryland is a very segregated city between poor vs. rich, police vs. community, and black vs.
white. Baltimore has one of the highest rates in the United States with more than half of the
population beings blacks.
Violence is the use of physical force to harm someone (qt. Merriam Webster ). There are different
types of violence: homicide, gangs, abuse, and even destruction of property. Homicide is the act of
killing another human being, this can happen due to gun violence, a threat, and is mostly common
among African Americans, and youths from other cultures.... Show more content on

Being that Baltimore is segregated, a study from Harvard shows that Baltimore is the worst large
city in the country when measure by a child s chances of escaping poverty (qt. How Racism ).
This can increase the number of crimes that might happen in the future; In the past year the
amount of crimes in Baltimore based on a 100,000 population was 600 robberies, 37.4 rapes, and so
far 131 homicides just this year.
Violent crimes that happen in Baltimore or anywhere else not only affect the city itself and
residents but the country as well because what is happening in a city one day, might spread to
another city the next day. Also the way people respond to violent crimes by doing protests in a
unsafe and un peaceful way can cause even more harm than the actual problem, people will destroy
cars, burn buildings and shoot other people. Though we can t change what happened in the past, but
we can learn for the future and try to prevent these things from happening

Decision Making Approaches
I Introduction
A job for a leader is to make decisions. Most managers or executives have to engage in some aspect
of decision making including coming up with ideas, evaluative alternatives, or implementing
directives (Brousseau et al., 2006). However, it could be a critical issue for decision makers to build
up proper decisions in various situations. Hence, how to adopt suitable technique in decision
making processes is a significant text for them. This essay firstly is going to discuss the benefits of
automated decision making due to improvement of technology, such as effective quality and
services. Yet, abundant limitations including environmental changes and professional shortages
will be illustrated in the next part. Furthermore, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the thinking mode, executives can make decisions that are broadly defined and consist of
multiple courses of action (Brousseau et al., 2006).
Successful managers in organisations are more analytic in their style while they progress in their
jobs (Brousseau et al., 2006). Further, Elbanna and Child (2007) prove that rationality has a positive
relationship with organisational outcomes.
Nonetheless, some constraints of rational decision making process should be pointed out. Firstly, in
Brousseau et al. (2006) study, significant differences of global management culture are
demonstrated. For instance, Americans stand apart in using a flexible thinking style more and more
when they progress in their position, but the situation is reversed in Latin America. Thus, global
management should be aware of differences in culture. Moreover, real life decision making makes
more sense than people think because so much of it is beyond conscious thinking (Mintzberg and
Westley, 2001).
Intuition
To date, researchers have emphasised rational decision making processes rather than intuitive
processes (Elbanna and Child, 2007). However, all the data or information in the world cannot
trump the valuable experiences from lifetime that informs one s gut instinct, feeling as well as
intuition (Matzler et al., 2007). Dane and Pratt (2007) also state that intuition comes from

This diplomatic win strengthened his belief in a renewed German dominance ( Adolf ).
In 1940, Hitler increased his military activity, invading Norway, Denmark, France, Luxembourg,
the Netherlands, and Belgium. Then in July, 1940, Hitler ordered bombing raids on the United
Kingdom. His goal was invasion of the United Kingdom. Germany s formal alliance with Japan
and Italy, known as the Axis Powers, was agreed upon toward the end of September to discourage
the United States from supporting and protecting the British. This was called Operation Sea Lion.
This invasion force was defeated ( Adolf ).

On June 22, 1941, Hitler violated the 1939 non aggression pact with joseph Stalin, sending a huge

During all of this the Holocaust was going on, more than 6,000,000 Jews were killed in

Summary Of The Bird Lady
Joshua Samuel 7/31/14
The Bird Lady.
Old stuff aren t just said to be old, it s the new stuff that makes it old. Even to a girl in an
orphanage seeing new things make me feel young and happy. A white lotus might bring a smile
on a poor man s face and the world will seem to be in order. However, the main focus is on
something that is old. Never did I have an interest in something like this but because of an old lady,
I do now.
The sun shined bright when I was walking on a sidewalk to a park. My normal routine and
activities laid aside as I held my half eaten sandwich and walked up the steps to the abandoned
park. There was a plastic playground and a sandbox that was full of sand as if not used. I shivered
as the wind blew and I saw a really big acorn tree. The grass was turning yellow and I looked past
the tree to see the pond. The pond was clear as I stood and saw my reflection. I crouched down
and as usual, I took my sandwich out and tore a piece and threw it in the water. In five minutes
time, ducks started to appear and eventually I ran out of food to give them. As I brushed my
hands and stood up, I looked behind me and there was a little boy behind me. At first the boy
scared me because I thought it was an oversized duck that didn t get his share of the sandwich but I
felt nogalstic when he said something.
What are you doing? he asked innocently. I replied to him smiling, Feeding the ducks. He looked
at me again and said, Why?
Something felt

Legal And Ethical Issues Of The United States Essay
Navigating through the myriad of regulations of any country is important to comply with legal
and ethical issues that can impact any organization. Every global region has its perspective on
how employees should be regulated and what the rights that should be adhered to. Most of the
global region closely regulate their workforces to their economic philosophies and vision. It is
therefore important that organizations acknowledge and have a deep understanding of any
international region perspective on employment ethics and regulation. Currently the three largest
regions for employment and economic growth include the United States, Europe, and Asia.
These two regions and one country are the global economic drivers internationally, and have
different views of labor ethics and laws. Major legal issues in the United States The United
States has passed legislation during various points in its history to address legal employment
issues. The U.S. has dealt with each issue as an evolution of a growing body of labor legislation
that often reflected the times in which they were passed. The issues that the U.S. has addressed
include discrimination, safety, compensation, family leave and retirement/pension. These issues
effect all labor markets within the U.S., and are enforced by federal agencies, as well as state
agencies. Discrimination The issue of discrimination is addressed by on the landmark Civil Rights
Act of 1964, specifically Title VII. The act prohibits discrimination based on

Brian Friel s Translations Essay
Brian Friel s Translations
Translations , by Brian Friel, presents us with an idyllic rural community turned on its head as the
result of the recording and translation of place names into English; an action which is at first sight
purely administrative. In Act 1 of the play, Friel brings together the inhabitants of this quaint Irish
village in what can only be described as a gathering of minds minds which study the classics, yet
minds which study dead languages. In the same way, while this community is rich in culture and
togetherness, it is also trapped in what is later described as a contour which no longer matches the
landscape of…fact . Thus, in expressing his ambivalence, Friel presents the reader with a ...

The first time Hugh speaks in the play, he greets his class with the line Vesperal salutations to you
all , illustrating perfectly the grasp which he has of the Irish language.
Furthermore, he is fluent in other languages as well, and has the tendency to say phrases in Latin
and Greek before asking members of his class to translate them into Irish. He even has some
knowledge of the connotations and etymology of words at the start of the play, he says (in
reference to the derivation of the word baptise ), Indeed our friend Pliny Minor speaks of the
baptisterium the cold bath .
Even Manus, Hugh s son, is intelligent. Near the start of the play, we hear him describe how
Biddy Hanna sent for me to write a letter to her sister in Nova Scotia . The fact that Manus is
capable of speaking
English, despite living in Ireland, displays his knowledge of language. Furthermore, he works in
the hedge school, therefore clearly has the knowledge and ability to teach, while the stage directions
at the start of the play describe his attitude towards his work as zealous he is not only intelligent, but
enthusiastic.
Inevitably, not everyone in Baile Beag is up to the standards of Hugh,
Jimmy Jack and Manus, yet we get the impression that those less capable members of the hedge
school are still willing to learn.
Both Bridget and Doalty, two characters who provide the play with many of its comedic moments,
are portrayed as less intelligent, yet we see

6-Year-Old Becomes A Hero To Band Of Toddlers, Rescuers
A hero is no braver than an ordinary man, but he is brave five minutes longer (Brainyquote). The
quote is letting the readers know that just because you have the title of being a hero, it does not
make you any different from a regular man. Just means you will have fame five minutes more. A
hero comes in all different ages , humanor animal , and even all shapes and sizes Hero. What does it
mean to you ? Such a simple word can have so much meaning to it. A hero can come in all

The Wife s Lament
The two poems known as The Wife s Lament and The Lament of the Old Woman of Beare have
numerous similar qualities even though they both come from different people. The Wife s Lament
is an Old English poem that is exceptionally heavy with emotional content; it is a monologue from
the perspective of a sorrowful womanwho appears to be undergoing significant sorrows due to
separation from her husband, most likely the result of exile. The other poem, The Lament of the
Old Woman of Beare, is an Irish poem with a first person narrator with the voice of a woman that
discusses the lamenting of old age. These are the rudimentary plots of the two poems, leading to the
similarities that these pieces of literature share, namely the theme of sorrows

GENRE OF THE PUBLISHED MATERIAL
In Vogue Australia: 50 years of Australian Style was published by Harper Collins Publishers,
Australia for Vogue Australia, one of the premier magazines in the country. The book was launched
on 1 September order to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Vogue magazine. The publication is
a compilation of over the years of changing Australian fashion and style as put forth in the pages of
Vogue Australia magazine. The book was co authored by the previous Editor In Chief of Vogue

of the sixties, changing moods of the seventies and the creativity of the eighties and the new

Sunspots And Radiation
Solar flares, Sunspots, and Radiation Solar flares, Sun spots, and Radiation are all vital parts of
the sun cycle. Sunspots create solar flare which gives off radiation, without one another the sun
could explode because of energy build up. Solar flares are defined as brief eruptions of highly
energized radiation from the sun, but why does this happen? Solar flares occur when magnetic
energyis built up, then rapidly released at once, during, the sun gives off generous amounts of X
and gamma rays. Strangely enough the energy of a solar flare is ten million times that of a
volcanic eruption, but only 1/10th of the energy that comes from the sun every second. There are
three stages of solar flares, first, the precursor stage where the release

Characteristics Of Rhodesian Ridgebacks
Rhodesian Ridgebacks are dogs that were originated in South Africa, Rhodesia, and Zimbabwe.
They are known as African Lion Hounds, they are also natural born hunters. These Lion Hounds
are kind, strong dogs with ridges on their back. Ridgebacks are great protectors, kind with
children, and kind to many other animals. Rhodesian Ridgebacks will not really bark
unnecessarily. Also this breed knows to be aggressive toward strangers and unfamiliar animals.
These dogs are large dogs. Rhodesian Ridgebacks are lion hounds so they can keep lions at bay. It
sounds impossible but it is not ability to keep a lion at bay while awaiting its master s arrival to

Rhodesian Ridgebacks are large dogs just like German Shepherds they both have a similar
pattern in growth. Both dogs grow to be nearly 2 feet long. They both require dry food, and
exercise. Since both dogs both growth pattern are nearly the same they both will be easy to

ClarkВґs life Kenneth B. Clark was born on July 14th in 1914. He was born in the Canal Zone

family to Panama to obtain employment with the United Fruit company. However, ClarkВґs

Organizational Growth
ORGANIZATIONAL GROWTH
_______________________________________
Growth is something for which most companies, large or small, strive. Small firms want to get big,
big firms want to get bigger. Organizational growth, however, means different things to different
organizations. How, then, is growth defined? How is it achieved? How does a company survive it?
PHASES OF GROWTH
A number of scholars and management theorists have developed models of how organizations
change and grow. One such model is that of Larry E. Greiner, a management and organization
professor at the University of Southern California. In his 1998 Harvard Business Review article
entitled Evolution and Revolution as Organizations Grow, Greiner outlined five phases of... Show

ROI tells management whether the profits being generated are enough to compensate for the
opportunity costs, the risks, and the time value of the money that the company has invested to
produce those profits. A related metric is return on assets (ROA), which evaluates profits against the
value of all the assets (capital, plant, equipment, etc.) the company has channeled into generating its
income.
For many companies, especially publicly held ones, the ultimate measure of growth is the creation
of wealth for owners/investors. While net profits are an indication of wealth creation, companies (or
their observers) may scrutinize their finances further to determine whether they are actually
generating an economic profit, or a profit that exceeds the implicit cost of the capital invested in
them. It is only after the cost of capital is met that the company may be said to create new wealth.
This growth may also be expressed in terms of market value added, a more direct measure of
shareholder wealth creation.
ACHIEVING GROWTH
While there are many academic models depicting the growth stages of a company, management
guru Tom Peters strongly suggests several real world ways for companies large and small to
achieve organizational growth. The business press routinely reports on the activities of companies
employing these suggestions.
JOINT VENTURE/ALLIANCE.
This strategy is particularly effective for smaller firms with

William Butler Yeats And A Portrait Of The Artist As A...
Sailing to Byzantium by William Butler Yeats and A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man by
James Joyce both follow the lives of a character that struggles to fit into society and because of this
apparent disconnection between themselves and the rest of the culture and society they come from
they are ostracized and distance themselves from the regular norms and values of society. The
motive for both main characters to exile themselves and separate from the rest of society is
apparent in their distaste for the materialistic and loves for art. They use art as an instrument to
better themselves and gain deeper understanding about the meaning of life. In Yeats poem Sailing
to Byzantium the narrator leaves his home country of Dodge on a sailing journey to the country
Byzantium, which is near by in proximity to his home country but very different in its societal
beliefs and norms because it is considered a holy city. The narrator describes Dodge as a place
where the young and beautiful can strive and live happily, but once that beauty begins to fade
with age it turns into a very different place. His discontent with the country and people who
represent these shallow views is apparent from different lines of dialogue from the narrator and
he heads to Byzantium to find more meaning and happiness in life. The narrator decides that
Dodge is a place for shallow people because they embrace only the newest trends and whatever is
pretty or aesthetically pleasing. The people of Dodge have

Under the CSGU questionnaire, each individual dimension is assessed with a four item subscale.
Firstly, participants were asked to note the main reason for their performance, stated in an open end

to the previous statement. These questions could be answered on a scale from 1 (not at all) to 5

The Importance Of Freedom Rides
Imagine how it would feel if you were not allowed to go into the same bathroom as everyone

Because of the mistreatment, African Americans began to take a stand and speak out on the

Studies are finding that boys, like girls, may turn to smoking to lose weight. Even the
Bollywood/Hollywood fashion has a huge impact on the youth. When youngsters see their
favorite actors/actresses wearing fashionable clothes and accessories they imitate them. So, to
copy their style icons, they spend thousands to lakhs of rupees to have the same pair of shoes or
dress. They don t mind spending money, but they want to look just as perfect as their favorite
movie star. In this way the fashion statements set by celebrities lay a negative impact on
youngsters. ALCOHOL, DRUGS, SMOKING: Movies are spoiling the youth and children most
because there is the competition between youths to copy the style of the hero either it was good

Antisocial Personality Disorder ( Aspd ) Essay
Antisocial Personality Disorder (ASPD)
To be considered antisocial is to isolate oneself from general social conditions and demonstrate
behaviors that deviate from the social societal norm. Antisocial Personality disorder describes an
individual that lacks values and habitually violates societal standards in regards to ethics and social
behavior. Individuals with this disorder can be described to lack empathy, act impulsively, and have
flagrant disregard for other people. It is hard for them to form engage in positive social exchanges
or maintain relationships with others. It was only until the early twentieth century that Antisocial
Personality disorder was named. Previously, these individuals were categorized as psychopaths due
to the thrill seeking and cunning nature of their actions. Psychopaths have the ability to change
their personalities to ultimately get what they desire then revert back to a malicious, egocentric
state. When faced with a dangerous adventure, for those with ASPD the choice will always be to
peruse the danger. This is due to a constant underlying feeling of restlessness (Nolen Hoeksema,
2011, p. 272). Although these traits can be deemed psychopathic this disorder is not only seen in
those who have established themselves as violent criminals, but in those who have established as
high ranking members in society. How can this disorder differentiate itself so starkly within people?

Essay On Communities In Contact
Communities in Contact:
How Conflicting Ideals Can Shape a Community
If we do not have contact with others, would defining who we are even be necessary? The answer
is no. If there were no other groups in which we communicated with, we would not need to separate
ourselves. It is through interactions with other groups that we decide what will distinguish us as a
people. This can mean the absorption of another s ideals or the complete rejection of them. Either
way, the contact is necessary for defining every community. Contact with other communities, be it

They began equating spices with luxury and eventually magic. However, unlike modern times,
these two concepts were linked to a negative connotation. In her piece detailing the spice trade,
Pollard even goes so far as to call it the offense of magic . This association suggests the Romans
did not strive for excess or luxury and instead valued a hardworking, practical life (though their
definition of such a life was most assuredly different than current ideas). Beyond just establishing
societal values, this open trade allowed for a growth in the economy and in literature. Many
authors went to write stories based on these spices. They wrote of witches and mages that used
these herbs to cast dreadful spells. Art is a physical expression of a culture and literature is

Teaching Is The Easiest Job
Teaching is one of the most well known careers known to man; it has existed for centuries and
probably has existed since the beginning of humanity. Thus, many may think it is very simple
to get in front of a group (class) and lecture about a certain topic. When in actuality it is not, it is
very complicated having to get up in front of a class especially if you re a shy person not used to
the concept of talking in front of a large group of people; I have faced a similar challenge, and
steadily overcoming the fears associated with teaching.
Over the summer I worked with students at a local school called Hanley International Academy, I
taught ladies that were older than me, and are ESL; I honestly thought it was the easiest job ever
prior to starting. However, I started to understand that teaching needs time and explaining within the
time I worked I took everything serious. Before beginning any teaching, I had to assist each student
s ability to understand English. Then, I started off with very simple assignments. When teaching
ESL students the first step is to explain what the alphabet, how much are letters are in the alphabets,
and how to use them. Then you have to teach them how to write them when they have understood
how to read and write then you must move on to the next concept. That doesn t mean to forget
about it completely. Next, you say the alphabets and let them read after you until they have
pronounced it perfectly. Then start with the next step I made

Cyberbimbo? , [Lara] is a positive role model for young girls or just the perfect combination of
eye candy and thumb candy for the boys. From her debut in 1996 to now, Lara is also seen as an
iconic female figure within the gaming community. With Lara we are able to see a strong female
role who, unfortunately, is at the same time is overly sexualized. Girls in the gaming community

If this is the case, playing Tomb Raider as a female gamer, mindset it rather hard to hold that
mind set. The developers really focused on accentuating her features that distinguishes a
biological female from a male. Lara s boobs were overly developed, her waist was too thin to
actually support her body and whenever she would jump Lara would sexually moan than create
a noise that was more suited to her actions. There should have been more to Lara than her body.
As their audience changed, their ideas of how Lara needed to be perceived, change. Lara began
to be more than a body. Lara s hot pants have become trousers, her crop top to a vest. Her breasts
have shrunk to a more realistic size... states Archie Bland. Lara was a character with a story.
Over time, her looks were less important and her characterization actually began to shine
through. As the gamers were seeing the changes, many of them were wanting to sympathize as
you saw how rough of an up bringing she had. Tomb Raider s executive producer Ron
Rosenberg, states that, When people plat Lara Croft, they [do not] really want project themselves
into the character. [They are] more like I want to protect her . It is easier to understand why these
adventures were necessary to Lara Croft seen today. Having the game set up so that Lara
appearance was not the main focus, allowed for better representation for women gamers. The idea

Harley Davidson Strategic Analysis Essay
Harley Davidson Strategic Analysis
William Harley and Arthur Davidson wanted to take the work out of riding bicycles in 1901. After
being joined by the Arthur brothers, Walter and William, they came up with the idea of putting a
motor and a bicycle together. Many engine changes were made before the builders were satisfied.
In 1903, they created the first Harley Davidson motorcycle and produced three that year. Harley
built its first building in 1907 on Juneau Avenue in Milwaukee. That same year, 150 motorcycles
were produced. As they were used for recreational purposes, they were also used in military
situations. They proved useful in border skirmishes and the government called for 20,000 bikes to
be shipped overseas. Following ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

product to make, but can be sold at the same price as a car. This may draw many competitors into

Company A s nationally advertised brand is Brand X. Contribution to profit with Brand X is $40
per case.
Company A s re proportioned formula is sold under a private label Brand Y. Contribution to profit
with Brand Y is $30 per case.
Company A s objective is to maximize the total contribution to profit.
Three constraints limit the number of cases of Brand X and Brand Y that can be produced.
Constraint 1: The available units of nutrient C (n) is 30.
Constraint 2: The available units of flavor additive (f) is 72.
Constraint 3: The available units of color additive (c) is 90.

The other two extreme points must be solved using both line equations simultaneously: Of the five
extreme points, one point will provide the maximum profit contribution.
Solving for the extreme point where the color and nutrient lines intersect subtract the two equations:
1) 6X + 15Y = 90 Multiply this equation by 2 to eliminate the X variable
4X + 4Y = 30 Multiply this equation by 3 to eliminate the X variable
2) 12X + 30Y = 180
12X + 12Y = 90 Subtract equation two from equation one 18Y = 90 Y = 5 Substituting Y = 5 back
into the first equation
6X + 15(5) = 90 6X + 75 = 90 6X = 15 X = 2.5 Extreme point = (2.5,5)
Solving for the extreme point where the flavor and nutrient lines intersect subtract the two
equatitions:
1) 12X + 6Y = 72 4X + 4Y = 30 Multiply this equation by 3 to eliminate the x variable
2) 12X + 6Y = 72 Subtract equation two from equation one
12x + 12y = 90 6Y = 18 Y = 3 Substituting Y = 3 back into the first equation
12X + 6(3) = 72
12X + 18 = 72 12X = 54 X = 4.5 Extreme point = (4.5,3)

The Religious Issues Of The Malay Population During...
Part one: essay proposal (200 300 words)
a) Giving a brief explanation of the scope of the essay (the figure you will examine, the time
period, geographical focus, etc).
Question: How did the British managed the religious issues of the Malays during colonial rule in
Singapore?
Through an analysis of the Maria Hertogh riot case study, we are able to gain deeper insights
into British s colonial policies in their management of the religious issues of the Malay
population in the post 1945 era. At the same time this also allows us to see how race intersect
with class as the Malay population constitutes the lower income class in Singapore at that time.
Using Maria as a case study, we are also able to see how gender interact with race and class during
colonialism as things may have turned out differently if the child in case was a boy instead.
b) Outlining your key research questions and the conclusions that you have drawn from your
research thus far.
1.Did British mismanaged sensitive religious issues pertaining to the Malays during colonial rule?
2.Did the British pursue a strict policy of resistance in their religious policies?
This ethnic conflict has been widely argued to be the consequence of a mismanagement of the
religious issues of the Malay population by the British. However, it would be inaccurate to solely
blame the British s policies for triggering the riots as they were other factors that led to the riots
such as the media and the hidden motives of the

Margaret Sanger And The Issue Of Reproductive Health
Margaret Sanger and the issue of Reproductive Health
Women have been fighting for the same rights and privileges of men for over a hundred years.
The majority of these rights dealing with the basic autonomy of their own bodies and the right to
make decisions about reproduction. The role of women has been seen as homemaker, caretaker,
and ultimately Mother. Having children and raising children is often seen as the primary job of
women in the home. However, in the early 20th century having a great number of children
became a public health concern among women who were having multiple births. The number of
women who died during childbirth in 1900 was six to nine in every 1000, while one in five
children died within their first five years. (Achievements in Public Health, 2000) This was not seen
as an epidemic, however, except by one woman, Margaret Sanger. Sanger believed that women
deserved the right to choose and control their reproduction while offering safe methods of birth
control. This paper examines the life of Margaret Sanger, provide information about the barriers she
encounters during her work, and give insight to the contributions she has made to public health.
The details of Margaret Sanger s biography are an interesting mystery, she herself had said that My
biography will be harder to write than that of Havelock Ellis, because I am not consistent and I
have seldom revealed what I really feel or believe. May of the details her life was altered such as

Brief Summary Of Psycho s Unfiltrate The Army
The time for the Master is at hand and Alessandra has ordered that the shifters are to be
exterminated permanently. For us to infiltrate the castle we will need to overwhelm them with
greater numbers. I am not interested in taking any prisoners, kill them all. Psycho shouted to the
crowd giving the best war cry so that he could in an attempt raise the confidence level and work
them up into an uncontrollable rage. Nearly all the raids that Psycho had launched against the
shifters have come as a total surprise because Psycho s men were notorious for lying in wait in
an ambush position by using the woods as cover and waiting for people walking along established
roads much as a crocodile would wait under water for an animal to come and drink... Show more

These swords were designed for slashing and cutting and not for thrusting, so the blades had to
be carefully sharpened while leaving the tip relatively dull. He thought that if they were
confronted by legitimate forces in raids they could create a wedge formation, with their biggest
and strongest men at the front of the wedge. They would rush this wedge through the enemy lines
where they could engage in hand to hand combat, which was their forte. But the wedge formation
would only serve as a distraction because the real plan is while the shifters are concentrating all
their efforts to defend the gate at the front of the fortress an advanced scouting party will be well
under way at digging out the dirt from underneath the castles back wall to weaken its foundation
and pull it down with an entire squad of swordsmen and archers that will flood into the courtyard
from behind and catching the shifters by surprise. Psycho s military tactics succeeded mainly
because he ignored common battlefield tactics, methods, and customs of the time such as ignoring
the unspoken rule of warfare that gave holy sites immunity from becoming a battle site. He had
always thought that the battleground always picked you and that you never get to choose where or
when a battle might break out, even if it means trampling on the ground of long ago dead

The Characteristics Of Don Giovanni
There was a man of greatness, a figure of admiration and respect to the entire neighborhood.
He referred to himself as, Don Giovanni, a man among men... and to him men were the superior lot.
People flocked to him; men, women, children, seeking his presence and a mere gesture of attention.
His was a life to envy. The Dons appearance was as powerful as his presence.
Hair as dark as night and naturally groomed with minimal effort,
He swaggered through the streets radiating confidence.
Step by step he left his mark, helping those less fortunate than he.
Eyes so distinctive, and actions so sweet, he needed no introduction.
Broad shouldered and strong, he was dressed in the finest garments from the best tailors around. As
he carried on doing business throughout the day, his diffident wife continued her domestic duties.
Chores he determined no man should be bothered to complete.
Especially not one as great as Don Giovanni. I am meant for man s work, he would say. Not the soft
labor of a soft species.
For men were meant for power and authority, for strength greater than that of the women men were
destined to protect. He continually preached the right way to live.
Always be true to your word; forever remain ethical and virtuous, was his motto.
He was a man of religion and faith, never swaying from his moral obligation.
No one challenged his goodness...until one day his false persona would alter his dream life.

Bill Corbett Public Relations Essay
According to a study by Media Dynamic, the typical adult is inundated with around 360
messages each and every day. These messages are sent through magazines, newspapers, internet,
radio and TV. This leads to a crowded marketplace, where businesses have to make a big
impression just to be noticed. Bill Corbett, Jr. who is the president of Corbett Public Relations
talks about how this crowded market place has grown exponentially: In the 1980s and 1990s,
advertisers needed to be in front of prospects six to eight times to be recognizable. Today, this
number is closer to 21 and may be even higher. So, how do you stand out amongst all this noise?

leader, you command respect and the attention of the people in a room or organization.
Successful leaders who empower others are even more memorable. Being a memorable person
doesn t always mean to try the hardest. It means you make a difference. David Sturt who is the
vice present of O.C. Tanner Institute (an employee recognition consulting firm) says this about
becoming memorable: Not only do your job, but create a difference different than the expected,
different than the assumed, and different than the last time. That s how you become memorable
and your works gets recognized and noticed. Don t Forget The All Important Follow Up: Too
many people forget to follow up after making a connection. This can be in the form of a simple
thank you, or can include sharing a tip or a resource. Jason Abrams, who is a Michigan based
realtor, specializing in selling homes to professional athletes, says his success is largely a result
of his follow up efforts. Abrams flew out to North Carolina and California simply to say thank
you the player s agent and then financial adviser after making his first sale to a Detroit Lions
football player. This move so impressed the men that they referred more professionals to him.

After seeing glory for all these years, why could Levi s not sustain its popularity? The entry of
competitors in its market segment turned a classic to a lost case. How could a brand so
appealing and well defined lose its luster? The sloppy approach of the brand to combat its
competitors shows how tired the brand had been. For instance, the advertising done by Levi s
for its Silver tab range was one of the most hated advertisement. It was considered to be insulting
and critics claimed that it lacked branding . Similarly, the advertisement to promote Levi s low

with the age range of 23 to 28 years. Each of the discussion went on for around 30 to 45 minutes.

able to map the perception of the brand Levi s to the customers. Some results were derived on
the basis of this focus group discussion. Consumer doesn t mind moving towards other cheaper
brands in clothing. There is lack of differentiating factor in the branded jeans of Levi s as
compared to other lower brands. The Levi s brand for jeans does not belong to the premium club
of jeans brand anymore. The value of the brand is gradually declining in the mind of the customers.

Trader Joe s Analysis

The Industry
The grocery industry in the United States is currently an attractive industry (a.k.a. profitable).
This attractiveness derives from the relative low threat of new entrants, low supplier and buyer
powers, and low threat of substitutes. The main factors driving these results are the low
concentration of suppliers and buyers, the significant barriers to entry due to high up front
investment costs (for infrastructure and distribution channels) and scale economies, low
availability of substitutes 1, and the threat of retaliation from incumbents (by lowering price, for
example). However, it is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition, customers complaints with parking could ultimately lead them to choose bigger stores
or other small footprint ones.
Given the situation described in the previous paragraphs and on the exhibits, Trader Joe s should
consider the following two recommendations for its future growth: Start a social media campaign
and emphasize on the organic food movement by branding organic products with the Trader
Joe s name.
For the social media campaign to match TJ s culture, the company should emphasize on artsy
online platforms such as Instagram, to integrate photos and hashtags, Twitter, to tweet about new
products or recipes, and Vimeo, to upload videos of their recipes, instead of Facebook and
YouTube which go beyond the TJ s target market of educated individuals. Also, in order to take
advantage of smart devices, TJ should develop an app for iOS and Android that could integrate both
platforms, the online website, and the online fan base that currently exists.
Trader Joe s should also engage in branding its own line of organic products (including meats).
Since competition is rapidly moving into TJ s strategic group (given the low mobility barriers), the
company should make use of its established brand (associated with quality and uniqueness) and
strong supplier relations in order to further enhance its participation on

Personal Ministry Research Paper
Paul David Tripp says, Personal ministry is not about always knowing what to say. It is not about
fixing everything in sight that is broken. Personal ministry is about connecting people with
Christ, so that they are able to think as he would have them think, desire what he says is best, and
do what he calls them to do even if their circumstances never get fixed. It involves exposing hurt,
lost, and confused people to God s glory, so that they give up their pursuit of their own glory and
live for his. Supervised ministryhas allowed me to work with others with the hope of connecting
others to Christ on a personal level. In this paper I would like to reflect on the ministry

The topics on spiritual formation and assimilation in our churches were extremely beneficial. I
have come to learn and understand why self care is critical for any leader. I never realized how
dangerous it is if a person is always saying yes to different meetings and commitments in
ministry. I also discovered the benefits of saying no sometimes to these same commitments. If a
person keeps going without taking a pause for reflection or self care it is possible, it can have an
effect on the individual s health and longevity in ministry. As I learn the importance of self care
to prevent burnout or stress I am encouraged to teach others the same importance. Lack of self
care can have a grave effect on the church, family, and community. Many pastors over the years
have decided to walk away from the call because they were burned out. It is important that I
make self care a crucial part of my daily routine now, so when more responsibilities or
expectations come my way I would be prepared to handle it better. When it comes to self care of
our congregation there are times when we miss the boat on taking care of them. The assimilation
class on guarding the church s back door has helped to put things into perspective for me. We
were taught how important it is to follow up with the members of the church to make sure they
are not forgotten. We want people to grow in Christ, not become lost and give up because no one
ever reached out or followed up with them. One of my final assignments is to organize a 5K Walk
/Run for the church. This activity will definitely bring one aspect of self care to the

Similarly, since the 1980s there has been the initiation of privatization of prisons, in the United
States. Today, for profit companies operate 264 correctional facilities, housing almost 99,000
inmates (Glans, 2011). The two largest are Correction Corporations of America (CCA) and the
GEO Group, which together combined for a capacity of 129,000 prisoners. According to Think
progress, in 2010 Corrections Corporation of America and GEO Group made over 2.9 billion in
revenue (Sanchez, 2011). Equally important, these companies exert influence on public policy, in
order to fashion the marketplace environment (i.e. more prisoners/African American males) required
to increase its businesses. This is done through lobbying politicians, direct campaign contributions,
and political networking.
Most economists would characterize incarceration as a public good. In contrast most racial
minorities, in particular African American males, would consider the business of incarceration, the
laws that lead to incarceration and the way the law are enforced as biased. The racial minorities in
the United States, particularly the African American male, have come to understand this as racial

  • 2. John Keats Homer, Fears, Nightingale, And Urn The Power of Keats Poems (An Analysis of Keats Poems called Homer, Fears, Nightingale, and Urn) John Keats was a romantic poet in the early 1800s. He lived from 1975 to 1821, a rather short lived life and died at the young age of just twenty five. Although Keats died at a young age, the years that he lived he created a huge impact on society with his poems. Keats developed an interest in poetry and reading at a young age, setting him up to become an avid poet. John Keats expressed one major message in each of the poems called On First Looking Into Chapman s Homer, When I Have Fears That I May Cease to Be, Ode to a Nightingale, and Ode on a Grecian Urn. In the poem On First Looking Into Chapman s Homer, John Keats emphasizes the message of exploration, amazement, and ambition. Keats, a typical romantic poet, is intrigued with nature. In the first four lines of the poem, Keats is searching for something, making the reader ponder. Yet did I never breathe its pure serene (line 7). Line seven expresses the beauty of the poem and reveals how it isn t the content of the poem, rather the language. Keats expresses amazement in this poem by implying the moment that he read Homer s work. He is truly moved by his work and is truly interested in the language and imagery of Homer s work. It inspired John Keats to write this poem. Ambition was a key characteristic of John Keats. He was always looking forward to new and better projects that urged him to become a better poet. This applies to all aspects of the field, but most commonly recognized in the area of practice management. The development of practice management software allows financial and medical data, staff and patient scheduling, inventory, and other information to be easily stored (Downing, Sirois, Thomas 2016). There are many software programs available today with options for every type of practice. Three different software programs will be discussed in the following pages: VIA Information Systems, Idexx Neo, and Onward Vet. VIA Information Systems (VIA) was founded in 1999 by VCA Antech. • 4. The Government Of India ( Goi ) Proposed Ban On Tobacco... The Government of India (GOI) proposed ban on tobacco advertising was not unusual keeping in view the international precedents. Countries like France, Finland, and Norway had already imposed similar bans. An example is Belgium whose Supreme Court (of Appeal in 1981, gave its ruling that a ban on tobacco advertising was not unconstitutional. In a case which started in 1991 and ended in 1997, RJ Reynolds TobaccoCompany, marketer of Camel cigarettes, was forced to withdraw its mascot, Joe Carmel, an animated camel, from all its advertisements, after the California Supreme Court (USA) ruled that the company could be prosecuted for exploiting minors. The accusation was that the slick, colourful advertisements (using an animated camel) appealed to the children and encouraged them to smoke. The impact of cigarette advertising on consumers was another contentious issue. A World Bank report published the details of a comprehensive study of over 100 countries, comparing the consumption trends over time in those countries where relatively complete bans on advertising and promotion were and where were no such bans. In the countries with nearly complete bans, the downward trend in consumption was much steeper. In 1992, the Department of Health (DOH), UK reviewed various forms of evidence to assess whether tobacco advertising affected the aggregate demand for tobacco products. Four countries (Norway, Finland, Canada and New Zealand) were chosen, as these countries had already imposed an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Irony In Mark Twain s The Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn Comedy as a genre has a purpose of amusing audiences in literature. Born in ancient Greece in 6th century BCE (before common era), comedy was utilized to make fun of politicians, philosophers, and artists(). Today, the evolution of literature expresses various ideas and emotions represented through comedy. Authors use comedy in literature to allow audiences to receive messages in a lighthearted manner. Authors of children s books apply comedy to their work with an underlying moral lesson. Dr. Theodor Seuss Geisel, famously known as Dr. Seuss, wrote books that taught children life lessons without their knowledge. Seuss s book The Lorax educated young readers on the importance of the world s natural resources and ecosystem through whimsical rhymes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Dictionary.com, irony is defined as a technique of indicating, as through character or plot development, an intention or attitude opposite to that which is actually or ostensibly stated. Authors use comedy to express irony in way way that readers will understand. Mark Twain manipulates comedy and irony and creates characters identical to Miss Watson in Huckleberry Finn. Mark Twain s Adventures of Huckleberry Finn follows Huck Finn in Missouri getting civilized by Miss Watson and an unnamed widow. Huck has just come into some money after Tom Sawyer and he is now expected to become a gentleman. He finds this task grueling and instead avoids baths and pucks on innocent people, including Miss Watson s slave, Jim. Huck s father returns and demands money from him. Huck tells him that he s too late and his father makes him live with him by a lake. Huck cannot turn to this lifestyle, resulting in his faking his death. He moves to an island where he encounters Jim; they decide to team up. The story follows them along their adventure. Miss Watson s character shows comedic irony through her practices. She teaches Finn about religious matters and what he should do to get to heaven. The irony is that she own slaves, a practice not accepted in the bible (Twain 14). The Grangerfords and Shepherdsons humorously brought guns to church and they ...kept them between their knees or stood them handy against the wall. (Twain 129). • 6. The Role Of Family And Caretakers Relationships Bipolar disorder is a mood disorder that often leads to a disruptive lifestyle. It is a subgroup of bipolar I which is manic and depressive episodes and bipolar II which is hypomanic and depressive episodes. However, very little research has been done in terms of how this disorder impacts family members and caretakers. The rationale behind this topic is to examine some of the research done involving strengths and struggles of familyand caretakers relationships. The articles that will be discussed include: Family Functioning in the Context of Parental Bipolar Disorder: Association with Offspring Age, Sex, and Psychopathology, Relatives Emotional Involvement Moderates the Effects of Family Therapy for Bipolar, and In sickness and in health: The experiences of friends and relatives caring for people with manic depression. While reading these articles I noticed many of them had similar themes. One of the common themes throughout these articles is the need to continuously do more research and provide more resources for the caretakers. Another recurring topic in the articles was the importance family relationships have on the individual with bipolar disorder and their outcomes with treatment, along with how these interactions affect the other members of the family. A strength that was present in each article was the depth of detail presented in each study; this description will make it easier to replicate the studies. These commonalities throughout the articles may be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

If not, then why should science teachers teach that life evolved over billions of years, and that it was created as it is now just six thousand years ago? Creationism should not be taught in science class because it has no supporting evidence, it is not equal to evolution, and religious myths can not be taught in public schools in an officially non religious nation. ...[I]ndividual scientists and philosophers of science have provided substantive critiques of intelligent design, demonstrating significant conceptual flaws in its formulation, a lack of credible scientific evidence, and misrepresentations of scientific ... There are many things wrong with Ken Ham s argument, but one thing is true, however he is wrong to think it is a bad thing. Public schools are anti Christian. It is good that they are, because it is extremely important that they be anti Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Hindu, Pagan, etc. Public schools are government institutions. According to the Constitution, the government will not establish a religion, nor will it be biased towards any one religion. • 10. What Is The Implementation Of PPP In The Compensation System 3.1.1 Implementation Mechanisms Implementation of PPP in the liability and compensation regime is seen through adequate reference to mechanisms such as compulsory insurance and compensation funds whereby a ship owner is required to constitute a fund with the Court for the total limit of his liability to avail the benefit of limitation , and maintain compulsory insurance certified by the appropriate State authority for any ship carrying more than 2,000 tons of oil . 3.1.2 Loss of Right to Limit Liability There is very narrow scope for a ship owner to be exonerated from strict liability. The Small Tanker Oil Pollution Indemnification Fund (STOPIA) was established to raise maximum amount of compensation payable for small ships and the Tanker Oil Pollution Indemnification Agreement (TOPIA) was established to indemnify the supplementary fund 50% of the compensation amount it pays in event of an oil pollution accident. Considering the costs of some of the biggest oil spills in history, the SF holds adequate funds to deal with oil spills of high magnitudes; till date no incident has required compensation from the SF . The liability and compensation provisions of the CLC and FC satisfy the main components the PPP by allowing the victims impartial access to remedies and allocating costs of pollution damage, emergency response and clean up to the polluters . The abovementioned factors show that the Conventions have come a far way in achieving a perfect balance in burden sharing among the shipping and oil industries, adapting the polluter pays theory to the extent feasible. Disturbing this balance for the few incidents where admissible claims exceeded the limits under the 1992 CLC and FC would mean disturbing a widely accepted, well tested and successful system operating on an international level . • 11. The Supreme Courts Failures Culminated Together For more than decades the court has continued to be pivotal in some of the biggest decisions for the social identity of America. Specifically noting that for many years the majority of Americans supported things that shaped the identity of American history (i.e. Slavery, Gay marriage, Sodomy, etc.). Erwin Chemernisky continues to examine whether the courts roles in major social issues have failed the American people or not. Erwin continues to explain that the supreme courts failures culminated together, are not only a failure for race issues in America, but also a failure to interpret the constitutioneffectively (21). These broad generalizations of the court flourish throughout his book, however, it is final assessment of the court that leaves the most to be contended with. Specifically noting that overall the court has done way more harm than good with regards to addressing minority issues an in wake of the warren court has continued to make flawed decisions in favor of the majority (53). This rhetoric must be addressed and analyzed by first looking to professor Erwin s view of the courts take on minority, secondly analyzing his take on the court before and after the warren era and lastly addressing his support and analysis of the purpose of judicial review. Through this analysis it will become evident that Erwin Chemernisky has misinterpreted the supreme courts position as a protector of minority rights instead of the upholder and interpreter of the constitution and law. ... • 12. Slavery In African American Slavery In the Americas, slavery was based on the plantation, an agricultural enterprise that brought together large numbers of workers under the control of a single owner. This imbalance magnified the possibility of slave resistance and made it necessary to police the system rigidly. It encouraged the creation of a sharp boundary between slaveryand freedom. Labor on slave plantations was far more demanding than in the household slavery common in Africa, and the death rate among slaves much higher. In the New World, slavery would come to be associated with race, a concept that drew a permanent line between whites and blacks. • 15. Contemporary Issues In Social Policy Contemporary Issues in Social Policy By Nazia Howell October 2017 Social policy refers to the policies used by government for welfare and social protection (Spicker, P.) that are usually made by central Government and implemented by local authorities to tackle current social issues such as poverty and racism. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have now devolved and have their own laws and legislations on several issues. This essay will explore three contemporary issues in relation to social policy, whilst supporting these issues with legislation and economic context for each issue. The three issues that will be explored are: Welfare, Health and Pensions. Defining social policy, and understanding social policy becomes imperative, to enable understanding of the contemporary issues within it. Social policy was introduced in the early 19th Century, post war. At this time, William Beveridge introduced the idea of a Welfare Stateto address poverty. He released a report for social reform known as the five giants within society: squalor, disease, ignorance, idleness and want. The welfare state brought many positive improvements in Britain and Government passed reforms to address the poverty levels, introducing cradle to grave support. The National Health Service was set up which gave free health care to all and laws and Acts were put in place to help the young, the old, the sick the unemployed and the working class in times of need. Most managers or executives have to engage in some aspect of decision making including coming up with ideas, evaluative alternatives, or implementing directives (Brousseau et al., 2006). However, it could be a critical issue for decision makers to build up proper decisions in various situations. Hence, how to adopt suitable technique in decision making processes is a significant text for them. In the thinking mode, executives can make decisions that are broadly defined and consist of multiple courses of action (Brousseau et al., 2006). Successful managers in organisations are more analytic in their style while they progress in their jobs (Brousseau et al., 2006). Further, Elbanna and Child (2007) prove that rationality has a positive relationship with organisational outcomes. Nonetheless, some constraints of rational decision making process should be pointed out. Firstly, in Brousseau et al. (2006) study, significant differences of global management culture are demonstrated. For instance, Americans stand apart in using a flexible thinking style more and more when they progress in their position, but the situation is reversed in Latin America. Thus, global management should be aware of differences in culture. Moreover, real life decision making makes more sense than people think because so much of it is beyond conscious thinking (Mintzberg and Westley, 2001). Intuition To date, researchers have emphasised rational decision making processes rather than intuitive processes (Elbanna and Child, 2007). However, all the data or information in the world cannot trump the valuable experiences from lifetime that informs one s gut instinct, feeling as well as intuition (Matzler et al., 2007). There was a plastic playground and a sandbox that was full of sand as if not used. I shivered as the wind blew and I saw a really big acorn tree. The grass was turning yellow and I looked past the tree to see the pond. The pond was clear as I stood and saw my reflection. I crouched down and as usual, I took my sandwich out and tore a piece and threw it in the water. In five minutes time, ducks started to appear and eventually I ran out of food to give them. Small firms want to get big, big firms want to get bigger. Organizational growth, however, means different things to different organizations. How, then, is growth defined? How is it achieved? How does a company survive it? PHASES OF GROWTH A number of scholars and management theorists have developed models of how organizations change and grow. One such model is that of Larry E. A related metric is return on assets (ROA), which evaluates profits against the value of all the assets (capital, plant, equipment, etc.) the company has channeled into generating its income. For many companies, especially publicly held ones, the ultimate measure of growth is the creation of wealth for owners/investors. While net profits are an indication of wealth creation, companies (or their observers) may scrutinize their finances further to determine whether they are actually generating an economic profit, or a profit that exceeds the implicit cost of the capital invested in them. It is only after the cost of capital is met that the company may be said to create new wealth. Sailing to Byzantium by William Butler Yeats and A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man by James Joyce both follow the lives of a character that struggles to fit into society and because of this apparent disconnection between themselves and the rest of the culture and society they come from they are ostracized and distance themselves from the regular norms and values of society. The motive for both main characters to exile themselves and separate from the rest of society is apparent in their distaste for the materialistic and loves for art. They use art as an instrument to better themselves and gain deeper understanding about the meaning of life. In Yeats poem Sailing to Byzantium the narrator leaves his home country of Dodge on a sailing journey to the country Byzantium, which is near by in proximity to his home country but very different in its societal beliefs and norms because it is considered a holy city. The narrator describes Dodge as a place where the young and beautiful can strive and live happily, but once that beauty begins to fade with age it turns into a very different place. • 55. Personal Ministry Research Paper Paul David Tripp says, Personal ministry is not about always knowing what to say. It is not about fixing everything in sight that is broken. Personal ministry is about connecting people with Christ, so that they are able to think as he would have them think, desire what he says is best, and do what he calls them to do even if their circumstances never get fixed. It involves exposing hurt, lost, and confused people to God s glory, so that they give up their pursuit of their own glory and live for his. Supervised ministryhas allowed me to work with others with the hope of connecting others to Christ on a personal level. In this paper I would like to reflect on the ministry assignments I was given over the past few months and talk about... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The topics on spiritual formation and assimilation in our churches were extremely beneficial. I have come to learn and understand why self care is critical for any leader. I never realized how dangerous it is if a person is always saying yes to different meetings and commitments in ministry. I also discovered the benefits of saying no sometimes to these same commitments. If a person keeps going without taking a pause for reflection or self care it is possible, it can have an effect on the individual s health and longevity in ministry. As I learn the importance of self care to prevent burnout or stress I am encouraged to teach others the same importance. Lack of self care can have a grave effect on the church, family, and community. Many pastors over the years have decided to walk away from the call because they were burned out. It is important that I make self care a crucial part of my daily routine now, so when more responsibilities or expectations come my way I would be prepared to handle it better. When it comes to self care of our congregation there are times when we miss the boat on taking care of them. The assimilation class on guarding the church s back door has helped to put things into perspective for me. We were taught how important it is to follow up with the members of the church to make sure they are not forgotten. We want people to grow in Christ, not become lost and give up because no one ever reached out or followed up with them. One of my final assignments is to organize a 5K Walk /Run for the church. This activity will definitely bring one aspect of self care to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Once a bachelors degree is equipped, you can apply for medical school. Medical school isn t all in a classroom. Four years of medical school are needed (healthychildren.org). Two of those years are in a classroom, the other two in hospitals, watching surgeries and observing different cases (learningpath.org). Still, more schooling is needed. That is a huge percent of increase. Many jobs are going down, but doctors have a special need to the community. They fix what s wrong and comfort people with hope. Robots won t be able to replace that. Pediatric surgeons work full time (BLS.gov). Full time isn t just your common 9 to 5 work days. All surgeons work night shifts. Night shifts can last all night long (12 hours!) Some surgeries can even last over 12 hours. There are about 708,300 surgeons in the U.S. (2014), and they get paid around 240, 440 dollars a year (BLS.gov). Surgeons get paid more by how many years of experience they have. Similarly, since the 1980s there has been the initiation of privatization of prisons, in the United States. Today, for profit companies operate 264 correctional facilities, housing almost 99,000 inmates (Glans, 2011). The two largest are Correction Corporations of America (CCA) and the GEO Group, which together combined for a capacity of 129,000 prisoners. According to Think progress, in 2010 Corrections Corporation of America and GEO Group made over 2.9 billion in revenue (Sanchez, 2011). Equally important, these companies exert influence on public policy, in order to fashion the marketplace environment (i.e. more prisoners/African American males) required to increase its businesses. This is done through lobbying politicians, direct campaign contributions, and political networking. Most economists would characterize incarceration as a public good. In contrast most racial minorities, in particular African American males, would consider the business of incarceration, the laws that lead to incarceration and the way the law are enforced as biased. The racial minorities in the United States, particularly the African American male, have come to understand this as racial profiling. The term profile initially was linked ...
