India s Political Double Standard in Releasing Rijiv...
The Tamil Nadu state government s decision to release the convicts in India s former prime minister
Rajiv Gandhi s assassination case caused a ripple across the nation. The Tamil Nadu cabinet on
February 19, 2014 declared that they will release all the convicts with due consultations with the
centre.
The state chief minister J Jayalalithaa in her statement informed The cabinet has taken a decision to
release the three convicts, Perarivalan, Murugan and Santhan, along with those four, Nalini, Robert
Pyas, Jayakumar and Ravichandran who are undergoing life sentence. The decision will be conveyed
to the Centre for appropriate action. If we don t get their response in three days, we will release all
convicts in accordance with the rights granted under the Code of Criminal Procedure.
The state government s decision came a day after the Supreme Court commuted death sentences on
three men involved in the assassination to life imprisonment citing the 11 year delay in deciding their
mercy pleas. The Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice P Sathasivam and comprising of
Justices Ranjan Gogoi and S K Singh then left the decision of remission for the three convicts
Murugan, Santhan and Perarivalan on the Tamil Nadu state government.
The Tamil Nadu government s decision resulted in an emotional outburst from Rajiv Gandhi s son and
Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi in his political rally the same day. Rahul said I am sad the
killers are being freed, he said he does not

Original Six The Original Six era spans from 1942 1967. Due to the Great Depression and World War
II, the National Hockey League, (NHL) went down to six teams, according to NHL.com. The Great
Depression aided in the dismissal of the Montreal Maroons, Philadelphia Quakers, St. Louis Eagles,
and Brooklyn Americans. They cited financial problems as the reason they dissolved. Many teams lost
quality players to participate in World War II. The remaining teams became known as the Original Six
hockey franchises. These teams included the Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs, Boston

Two I will talk about include Wayne Gretzky and Bobby Orr. Wayne Gretzky played for the
Edmonton Oilers and Los Angeles Kings during his career. He later became the all time leading point
s leader in NHL history. He started his career in the WHA and stayed on the Oilers for most of his
NHL career winning many Hart Trophies as league MVP as well as Stanley Cups. He was a brilliant
passer and scorer and is considered one of the best to ever play the game along with Bobby Orr. His
50 goals in 39 games is a feat most likely to stand forever, along with his 92 goal season.
Bobby Orr redefined what it is like to be a defenseman. He played for the Boston Bruins and won
eight Norris Trophies as best defenseman and many Hart Trophies as well. His career was limited due
to bad knees. He would rush up in the offensive zone and basically be another forward out there but
also rush back and play stellar defense. One of the most iconic pictures in sports shows him diving in

Nuclear Power Plants
In 1942, Enrico Fermi successfully sustained a nuclear fission reaction and created the world s first
functional reactor. What his experiments, and those of earlier scientists like Otto Hahn and Fritz
Strassman, showed was that by splitting the nucleus of heavy radioactive elements (like uranium and
cadmium), energy is released, and the reaction could be designed to generate a sustained energy
source (Schlager Weisblatt, 2006). Subsequent experiments illuminated the promise of nuclear energy
as a reliable alternative to coal, and scientists and economists praised it as the future of energy. While
nuclear power remains the most efficient form of energy (Nei.org, 2013), its early proponents failed to
take into account the potentially devastating effects of a power plant overloading and exposing
radioactive waste to nearby populations, and catastrophic events like the Chernobyl and Fukushima
disasters have substantially undermined the promise of Nuclear Energy. The question of whether
nuclear power will become the standard of energy production remains a hotly debated topic among
economists and environmentalists alike. The economic costs of nuclear energy are vast, ranging from
government oversights and barriers to entry, to variable human capital costs and fiercely competitive
substitutes. By analyzing the economics of the establishment of a nuclear power plant, we can get
closer to answering the question of whether nuclear power will become the true future of energy. In

Genogram Narrative Family Systems
Genogram Written Narrative
HSC 6323/Family Systems
June 15, 2011
Professor Michael Hardin
Lubbock Christian University
Genograms are an excellent way to show the multigenerational family as a whole. When looking at a
genogram, it is easier to see various pieces of information that exist within the family system. When
creating a genogram, it is necessary to obtain a great deal of information to allow for accuracy as well
as proficiency within the genogram. Overall, a genogram is helpful to find patterns in the family
system, and recognize traits that may have been unknown. Throughout this segment is a personalized

Some cancers are not avoidable, but things can be done to try and prevent it. Second of all, I noticed
that my grandmother and father both suffer from some type of emotional and anxiety disorders. This is
a good pattern to be aware of because this means there is a possibility that my children or myself
could develop an emotional disorder. Awareness of this fact helps to be able to recognize different
symptoms and behaviors, and know that an emotional disorder could be present. Understanding that
there is a history of physical abuse makes realize that I need to be aware of how I react and respond to
certain situations. When I evaluate the genogram by looking on my mother s side, I can notice a
pattern of different illnesses. Looking at my grandma, she had a rare nervous system disease along
with my aunt and uncle. This information is very helpful to me especially since I know that I am right
in line to potentially carry one of the illnesses. I can be aware of my physical functioning and
recognize if something is wrong. I can also see a history of different types of abuse, both physical and
emotional on both sides of the family. I think that watching this behavior within my family makes it
easier to be emotionally abusive to those I love in my own family. I know there have been times when

What Is Sleep Paralysis
SLEEP PARALYSIS RESEARCH PAPER
Sleep paralysis has a history that stretches over centuries, with a vast array of people experiencing it.
Some believe they have been visited by demons, or aliens in the night and attribute such events to
witchcraft or Satanism. There are references to folklore from every nation throughout history. The
Nightmare, is a painting by Henry Fuselli that dates to 1781, and depicts a chilling sleep paralysis
incidence. In this painting, a malicious spirit sits on a man s chest while the victim lies there limp and
unable to fight back. The cultural and spiritual implications of this phenomena is unique amongst
neurological ailments. Isolated sleep paralysis (ISP) is the inability to move or talk during the
transition between sleep and wakefulness, accompanied by auditory and visual hallucinations that are
often extremely hostile. These hallucinations can include a wicked existence in the room, an
impression of being touched, or hearing voices in the room. Some people see faces at the bedside.
This is typically accompanied by a perceived breathlessness. Patients describe the experience as
petrifying. Episodes tend to be more recurrent when sleeping in the supine position. ISP usually
happens when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some people have entered sleep paralysis directly from lucid dreaming or entered lucid dreaming
from a state of sleep paralysis. The indications are that people who are experiencing both patterns are
also undergoing a greater dissociative experience in daily life. In lucid dreaming the dreamer is aware
that they are dreaming and is therefore able to control the dream. These dreams are characterized by
increased insight, and even access to waking memories. This dissociate experience is generally
positive and can leave the dreamer feeling blissful. These are directly inverted from the intruder and

Socio Technical System
Socio technical systems theory: an intervention strategy for organizational development
Steven H. Appelbaum Professor of Management, Faculty of Commerce Administration, Concordia
University, Montreal, Quebec, Canada
Integrating organizational development (OD) and technological intervention into a total system is one
of the more difficult tasks for an executive or consultant to execute. Organizations are profoundly
affected by technological advancements and require a ïŹ‚exible customized change model to ïŹt the
social network of the speciïŹc organization into which technology is being introduced. Examines socio
technical systems (STS) theory and presents classical organization theories of Burns and Stalker,

226]. After analysing the speciïŹc situation in any given organization, the organizational development
consultant can determine that some or all elements of a traditional model may be useful for the
organization in question [1, p. 41]. STS theory is probably the most extensive body of conceptual and
empirical work underlying employee involvement and work design applications today Originally
devel. oped at the Tavistock Institute of Human Relations in London, this approach to designing work
has spread to most industrialized nations in a relatively short period of time. In Europe and
particularly Scandinavia, STS theory is almost synonymous with work design and employee
involvement. In Canada and the USA, STS theory has become the major underpinning of efforts
involving work design. Cincinnati Milacron, Amoco, USAA, Stanley Works, General Electric, and
Caterpillar are among many organizations using STS theory to design work[3, p. 352]. Over 30 years
ago, the early contributions to socio technical theory by Emery and Trist or by Chern s included
approaches to design of jobs and work systems. More recently, there seems to be frequent reference to
STS, given the inevitable inïŹltration of technology into organizations in all industries. Often though,
STS approaches appear to be fragmentary and only loosely reminiscent of the original theory The
techniques used in socio.

The State Of New York s Budget Process
The State of New York s budget process involves six phases namely: The Call; The Executive Budget;
Public Hearings; Legislative Amendments; Enactment Phase; and Implementation Phase. The budget
process or cycle formally begins after the budget director issues the memorandum policy referred to as
The Call Letter to heads of agencies. The Call Letter marks the official commencement of the budget
process and starts at August and last through to October. As the early mid fall approaches, each agency
assembles a final program package and is then send to the Budgetary Division. By the time December
starts, the budgetary division normally has completed the preliminary commendations for both the
revenues and expenditures, and subsequently presents them to respective Governor Office (New York
State Government, n.d.). The second phase of the process starts in November through to January
referred to as The Executive Budget. In accordance to the preliminary commendations and the most up
to date economic atmosphere, the Governor along with his staff then prepares the actual executive
budget and by the closure of January, the executive budget is released to the next phase (New York
State Government, n.d.). The budget proposed by the Governor at this stage must be financially
balanced. The budgetary terms confirming the proposed budget are very indirect requiring the
Governor to classify all the expenditures he anticipated to be realized prior to the end of the
subsequent fiscal year.

Indigenous Ethical Issues
1.0 Introduction
Ethics has become an important mainstay to conduct efficient and purposeful research. The ethical
researches involving Indigenous population had been increased over the last two decades and there is
neither any discussion nor dissipation about the result findings with the population being researched
(Stewart et al., 2006). Thus, the critics as well as the Indigenous population had always raised a
question about the benefits, methods and ethical issues of research involving Indigenous population
(Willie et al., 2004). However, numerous principles have been formulated to preserve the rights of
people from being exploitated, out of which, The Nuremberg code (1949) was the first followed by the

Theme Of Forgiveness In The Kite Runner
Some Title I ll Have To Come Up With Later
Forgiveness and redemption make up considerable parts of our lives, as we all make mistakes. For
some of these mistakes, we need to atone ourselves, and gain forgiveness of either ourselves or
another individual. Many times, we make big decisions based receiving forgiveness on the past
mistakes we have made. This theme of forgiveness and atonement is also conveyed in the Kite Runner
written by Khaled Hosseini. Forgiveness and atonement is a significant theme throughout the Kite
Runner because it causes many of the major events in the story, which is illustrated when characters
do certain actions or make decisions driven by the possibility of atonement or forgiveness.
The theme of forgiveness is shown from the very beginning of the story, when Amir tries to gain the
respect and love for his father. Baba is characterized as a strong, righteous, and respected character,
where Amir is portrayed as the exact opposite. Baba, as a result seems to be disappointed in Amir for
this, and seems not to regard Amir very highly in his interactions with him. Amir as a result wanted
Baba all to [himself]. And besides, one time at Gharga Lake, Hassan and [him were] skimming stones
and Hassan made his stone skip eight times. The most [he] managed was five. Baba was there,
watching, and he patted Hassan on the back. Even put his arm around his shoulder. This quote sets the
stage for the novel, and reveals how he feels inferior to Hassan. Throughout

Another key risk of foreign outsourcing involves social responsibility. Q2. What are the key elements
of sociocultural barriers to trade? How can companies overcome these barriers? Sociocultural
differences include difference among countries in language, attitudes and value. Also some specific,
and perhaps surprising, elements that affect business include nonverbal communication, forms of
address, attitudes toward punctuality, religious celebrations and customs, business practices, and
expectations regarding meals and gifts. The best way to jump over sociocultural barrios is to conduct
thorough consumer research, cultivate firsthand knowledge, and practice extreme sensitivity. Q3. How
has NAFTA impacted the U.S.? Overall, do you believe that it was a positive move for the U.S.? Why
or why not? NAFTA is the treaty that created the free trading zone among the United States, Mexico,
and Canada. Despite dire predictions of American jobs flowing to Mexico, the U.S. economy has
grown significantly since the implementation of NAFTA. The Canadian and Mexican economies have
thrived as well. Other criticisms of NAFTA include increased pollution and worker abuse. But the full
impact of NAFTA for better or for worse is tough to evaluate because so many other variables affect
all three economies. NAFTA makes North America formed a more open trade in services market, in

Logical Fallacies And Pitfalls In The Crucible By Arthur...
Logical Fallacies and Pitfalls in The Crucible In The Crucible, a Modern tragedy, Arthur Miller
incorporates many logical fallacies including the post hoc ergo propter hoc fallacy. When Reverend
John Hale, Giles Corey, and Francis Nurse visit John Proctor and his wife, they all explain how many
wives are being accused of witchcraft. Giles states that Walcott charged his wife, Martha Corey, on the
terms of bewitching his pigs. He says that Walcott bought one pig from his wife, and it died shortly
after. He asked for his money back, but Martha refused, arguing that he will not live to own many pigs
if he doesn t know how to feed them properly. Giles concludes, Now he goes to court and claims that
from that day to this he cannot keep a pig alive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the first court proceedings, Proctor gives Danforth a document attesting the good opinions of
Rebecca Nurse, Elizabeth Proctor, and Martha Corey. Danforth explains that all ninety one people
who signed the testament must be summoned for questioning. He remarks that it is an attack on the
court. When Proctor becomes upset about bringing trouble upon those people, Danforth states, But
you must understand, sir, that a person is either with this court or he must be counted against it, there
be no road between (Miller 87). The logical device functions in the scene to create a sense of
hopelessness. Since there are only two outcomes in the minds of the court officials, they rush to
conclusions. The girls influence on the court officials puts the decisions in their favor, leading the
villagers to either confess to witchcraft or be hanged. Danforth s statement is one that guides the rest
of the novel. The idea that one must either be with the court or against it leads to all of the problems in
Salem. The forced choice from two alternatives creates tension, fear, and false accusations in the
community. The corrupt court makes rash decisions using this reasoning. Therefore, the fallacy of the
false alternative adds to the development of the play as a whole by creating a sense of hopelessness
and despair for the truthful villagers in

Father Figures In Romeo And Juliet
Father figures in our life are very important while developing our characteristics and morals. When we
are little we look up to our fathers for advice and guidance on how we should act. As that would be the
social normality now in the twentieth century, in the olden day such as when Romeo and Juliet was
written and performed, the father would be a ruler and forced to work to the extreme so the son or
daughter would not have a full father figure. They could find a father figure in another person such as
Romeo did with Friar Laurence. Romeo looked to Friar Laurence with respect that a father would

Throughout this poem, the Sanburg intentionally uses the concrete and proper nouns to represent the
death that occurs over time in a war zone. These concrete nouns represent the extreme conditions that
happen while at war. The use of the word bodies (1) starts off the poem on a somber note, by simply
representing the amount of people that have passed. Furthermore, the concrete nouns represent how
some of these battles dragged on through the use and repeat of the word, years. (7) The catastrophic
effects of war on the landscape is exemplified by the passengers asking, What place is this? (8) The

The Effect Of Glucose On Food And Chemistry

Glucose Introduction: What influence does Glucose have within food and chemistry itself? We all
know that Glucose itself is a simple monosaccharide that we normally call Sugar, however what does
it all really cover within the basis of food? So let s get down to the bottom of this and discover what
role Glucose plays within the chemistry of food.
Background: Glucose, which is also called D glucose or Dextrose is a monosaccharide within one of
the carbohydrate groups known as simple sugars. Originally based off of the Greek word, glukus ,
which is translated to the word, Sugar, Glucose is found the most in fruits and honey. Its molecular
formula is C6H12O6 and is the most common simple sugar regulated in the blood of animals. Glucose
was first discovered within raisins in 1747 by the German chemist Andreas Marggraf. Since glucose is
a core necessity of many living creatures, a basic understanding of its chemical makeup and structure
contributed immensely to the growth of organic chemistry.
Search Findings: All forms of glucose are void of color and soluble in water, acetic acid, and several
other solvents. They are only semi soluble in methanol and ethanol. Glucose is the main source of
energy in cell function comes primarily from carbohydrates which then break down into simple
sugars, and the regulation of metabolism. It is one of the three monosaccharides

Human Dominion and Separation from Nature
Other than Native American works, most of the works read for the class seemed to stem from or at
least were influenced by some vein of Christian thinking. This can t be helped because the western
world has been influenced by Christianity for centuries, and the foundational values still recognized in
this country in particular are protestant, even if they re not blatantly proclaiming the faith. In fact, we
even read through a few chapters of the Bible because the common theme and justification of human
dominion over nature stems from the primary story of the Bible in Genesis. This theme is often a
subject of great sadness or annoyance for nature writers like Wordsworth and Mary Oliver; while
authors like John Muir and Bill McKibben, whom do profess to the Christian faith, still see nature as
something spiritual because dominion means not just given authority, but also given the responsibility
for its protection. The first chapter of Genesis establishes humanity s place in God s creation. Verse 26
in particular; Then God said, Let us make humankind in our image, according to our likeness; and let
them have dominion over the fish of the sea...and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.
The entire verse basically gives human authority over every genus on the planet, putting us at the top
of the food chain as it were (though in the Garden humans were forbade to eat meat). A lot of people
seem to see this verse as one of the causes of the human superiority

Human Trafficking From Latin America To Canada Essay
The trafficking of humans for sexual purposes is being described as modern day slavery. The US State
Department Trafficking in Person s 2008 report ranks Canada as a Tier One country, meaning Canada
is a source, transit, and destination country for men, women and children (SIWSAG, 2009). Although
not a top destination point for human traffickers, a conservative estimate states that approximately 800
people are trafficked into Canada annually. These people (mostly women and children) are transported
into Canada illegally and harboured into bawdy houses and strip clubs across the country. Many of
those who are trafficked come from Latin American countries, where the incredible poverty drives
many into extreme circumstances where they may ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The leaders of trafficking rings plan out complex and convoluted methods to first trick the victim, then
get her into the destination country, and finally to keep her complacent enough to stay in that country
and not alert officials. Because of this, conviction of traffickers is very difficult and according to
SIWSAG, the Sex Worker Safety Action Group of Vancouver, there have only ever been five
convictions for domestic sex trafficking in Canada, and no international trafficking convictions
(2009). This shows both a need for more police attention to the matter and better resources for
trafficked women to encourage their escape from bondage and to begin rehabilitation. Women s sexual
exploitation in Latin America is attributed to the gender based social and economic inequalities that
are so prominent in the societies where machismo is an accepted norm. In addition to this, many Latin
American women experience a lack of economic resources, illiteracy, civil strife from political
instability, and abuse within the home. All of this may force women to look for a better life and to
escape their own, making them vulnerable to forces that can exploit their needs. With the the
glamourized images of economic freedom in the Global North making their way onto television
screens throughout the continent, it is not difficult to see how an impoverished and abused mother
from Bogota can be coerced into a waitressing job

Persuasive Essay On America s Birthday
America s birthday is an ideal holiday to get family and friends together. Good planning is the key.
There is more to planning a 4th of July bash than just creating a guest list and preparing delicious
food. Most parties will be held outdoors. This means implementing a strategy that gives your guests
the best experience while decreasing the potential damage to your lawn. Mark Your Territory There
might be parts of your lawn you do not want to use for your get together. You don t want guests
walking over newly sown grass. There may be other reasons you don t want parts of your lawn to be
trampled on. Mark the off limit areas with red, white and blue streamers tied to stakes. The streamers

My Memories Of My Memory Essay
Going through my memory bank to remember something I learned, which seems so long ago, has
made me laugh because roller skating pops right into my head. Out of all things to remember that was
my worst and most exciting learning experience. I could not even tell you how old I was. I would
guess between five and eight years old. I remember getting a big brown box and in that box was a pair
of roller skates. I remember being so happy because I going to roller skate with all the other kids in the
apartment complex, so I thought.
Playing with the other kids was not hard to do, but skating was difficult thing to learn. Once I put
those skates on, I could not stand upright. I would fall forward on my knees or backwards on my
backside. I remember my arms flying all over the place. A couple of kids grabbed my hands to help
me, so I would not fall, but I still fell down. After some time, I learned to master standing completely
still and only being able to move my head from left to right. I managed to scoot and hold on to the
walls to get around, but when I let go to move on my own, I just landed on the ground. Each time I
tried to use my foot to push, I would just tip over. I must have looked like a tree falling over each time.
I was unable to keep up with my friends, which meant I had many tantrums. I stood there hurt because
I had fallen so many times that I had cut up my knees and hands and at that moment, I decided I was
not skating anymore. Being physically hurt

Native Myths of How the Stars Came to Be
Throughout generations stories were passed down about how things could ve been created like the
earth, mankind, and even the stars. Every culture and religion has their own myth of how things came
to be. The Hindu s, Native American s, and the Chinese all made up stories about how the stars were
created.
The Native Americans believed that in the story Coyote Places The Stars , a coyote wonders why his
wolf brothers look up at the sky every night. Well when the wolves finally tell the coyote that there are
animals up in the sky. The coyote shot arrows up into the sky to create a ladder to be able to climb to
the stars and visit the animals above. As they climbed to the stars they found two bears roaming the
skies. The coyote decided to leave the wolves with the bears and as he climbed down the arrows he
took one out at a time so the wolves couldn t leave. As the coyote looks up at the night sky, he is
pleased on how the arrangement of the stars look so he begins to arrange other stars as well, pleased
with work he told Meadowlark to tell people who looks at the stars that it was the coyote who has
placed the stars, now Meadowlark tells everyone about coyote and the stars ( Native American
Legends ). The Hindu s believed that a coyote, a Navajo god, was created by the mischievous behavior
of the gods. When the world was created the Holy People gathered around and began placing stars in
the sky, angered by the slow process of the star placings, the coyote placed a red star

was typically performed for royalty and individuals of the more affluent social classes. A non mozart
example of Opera Seria is Rinaldo by George Frideric Handel
Opera Buffa refers to a genre of opera that is more comical in nature, and was written for the lower
echelon of people... i.e. peasants . Mozart authored many of these vaudevilles in order to support
himself when times were not great. Typically, Opera Buffas were light hearted and sweet with happy

Pergolesi s La serva padrona .

My Field Experience At Bushwick United Head Start Program
For my field experience, I had the opportunity to observe a four year old pre kindergarten classroom
on November 5th and 12th at Bushwick United Head Start program. The school is located at 136
Stanhope street, Brooklyn, N.Y. Majority of the families the school serve are Hispanics, and as a
result, the student body entails mostly ELL students. There are approximately 130 students enrolled in
the program, and out of that 130, about 10% speaks English. The school uses an additive model of
English Language to support both the student s home language and foster and support English
language acquisition. The classrooms are staffed with teachers who speak the children s home
language, who can apply some use of the home language within the classroom and providing hands on
experiences for students. Additionally, to support students with disability, the school also partnered
with United Community Services (UCS), a program that offers speech therapy, occupational therapy
and physical therapy to students. The school uses the evidence based Creative Curriculum. The
Creative Curriculum is aligned with Head Start Performance Standards, NAEYC guidelines and the
NY State Prekindergarten Common Core Standards. The classroom I observed consists of seventeen
students, eight of which girls and nine are boys. Of the seventeen students, nine receive services from
UCS, and five of which understood and speak English, though not fluently. The students are often

Civil Liberties, Habeas Corpus, and the War on Terror

Civil Liberties, Habeas Corpus, and the War on Terror have all played a role throughout history.
Throughout history, the motivation of man s self interest has concluded in the domination of those
with little or no power in the absence of the rule of law. The war on terror presents an unpredictable
challenge for the United States since terrorists are apprehended and deprived of due process. Habeas
corpus is considered to be one of the most fundamental guarantees of personal liberty that we
cherished as a country since the inception of our Constitution. However, debates have arisen regarding
the proper ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a feature of common law, the right of Habeas corpus reflects the age old contest between
individual and the state. Habeas corpus empowers the individual in holding accountable the exercise
of the states power to influence liberty. Our founding fathers were well aware of the Magna Carta, and
its astonishing abilities to be something great especially James Madison who was the primary architect
of the American Bill of Rights. Greatly influenced by the potential of the agreement, James Madison
began his own interpretation. James Madison borrowed heavily from Article 39 of the Magna Carta
which limited the legislative power. Madison was a key player in growing that particular article into
the Bill of Rights. It was through Magna Carta and our founding fathers interpretation of that article
that the American courts used and still use today when interpreting the rights of enemy combatants.
(Halliday, 2011) September 24th 1862 Lincoln issued a proclamation suspending the writs of Habeas
corpus nationwide and specified whose rights would be suspended. All traitors and rebel militias
against the U.S. shall be subject to martial law and liable to trial and punishment. (Longley, 2012) In
1866 after the American Civil War had ended the Supreme Court officially and fully restored Habeas
corpus throughout the entire nation. That would not be the first time a

opportunity to evaluate all the necessary details of the case and overlooked what the strengths and
weaknesses of our argument would be presented in the Court. To assist our argument we have decided
to utilize the regulations, substantive laws and case laws. The case precedents will provide multiple
directions for the arguments to be assessed in the Court. Greene s Jewelry is more likely to receive a
favorable judgment by applying these laws, in the claim against Ms. Lawson. After numerous
evaluations and examinations, we the legal team has assessed the elements of the case and concluded
that the primary reason of the lawsuit against Ms. Lawson is due to her breach of the non disclosure

Orientation Of Intrauterine Chord Attachment
Orientation of Intrauterine Chord Attachment in Equine Effects On Viability
According to the Jockey Club Registry for Thoroughbred horses, horses are given the birthday of
January 1 on the year of birth (Jockey Club). Producers are looking to maximize production of
pregnancy and look to have mares foal at or after January 1 to give their colts an age advantage while
racing. Because of the 11 month gestations of the mare, this means she must be bred between
February and March to achieve a foaling date on or after January 1. During the low day light levels in
the February and March, melatonin secretions from the pituitary are increased, which will inhibit the
kisspeptin neurons as well as GnRH secretrions from the hypothalamus and in turn will inhibit
ovulation (Maquivar, 2016). Producers have overcome this and have used light stimulation and
hormone therapies successfully in stimulating estrus during the normal anestrus period. The next step
towards creating reproductively efficient mares is to study the orientation of placentation and chord
attachment from the fetus to uterine walls and chorionic villi and determine if position can effect the
viability of the fetus.
Dependence from the oocyte and embryos in equine have been found to be more dependent upon
follicular factors and intrauterine attachment than ever before. The mare s unique gestation begins
from the point of ovulation, the ovulation fossa (Maquivar, 2016). The mare will reach a luteinizing
hormone (LH) peak

Relationship Between Architecture And The Human Body
The Relationship between Architecture and the Human Body
Introduction
The human body is the ultimate tool for discovering the environment. Human anatomy is considered
to be nature s peak of perfection and certain features serve as inspiration for many architects. To study
the relationship between the human body and architecture, one must not be limited to human body
parts resemblance to architectural works but to a larger extent consider human emotions, sensory
nerves, the mind and general human psychology. In essence everything that makes us human. In its
simplest definition Architecture can be described as an art or practice of designing buildings. It is
practiced in a way that accomplishes both practical and communicative or expressive requirements. To
relate it to human body then Architecture can widely define the place, the site, the energy, the systems,
the building, the flora and fauna. These components that bring aesthetic property to humanity apart
from the utilitarian purpose it serves. The perfect balance of a normal human body and the proportions
are incorporated into architecture from a point of view of imitation, idealized allusion and the actual
human use. Evidence of such human incorporation into architecture is seen from the Ancient Greek
Architectures where it was common for tower columns to take shape of a human being like in the

Ideo Case Study
Case Study Analysis: IDEO Product Development
The business model for IDEO began as an open minded place to design, develop and manufacture new
products. The last 20 years of proven product design driven by innovation has translated into profit
margins for their clients and continuous refinement for IDEO s process. IDEO pioneered concurrent
engineering where design and engineering work together to produce aesthetically pleasing products
that are also highly functional. This was different from many other similar companies that placed more
emphasis on the industrial design than the engineering. IDEO s strengths grew out of the ability to
master this ability with high tech clients. Corporations came to IDEO because they had a proven ...

In the past Palm projects design had been ignored in order to favor bells and whistles directed toward
male customers. This new Palm was to appeal to the customer on the emotional level as well as the
aesthetic level.
What may have been missing from the innovation formula at IDEO in 2000 was the philosophy of
customer experience. This is the way many corporate brands like Starbucks have been handled to be
an experience, not just a product. It is no longer sufficient to simply tell customers about the product
features or benefits. The brand must create a visceral connection with customers they have to
participate in the journey emotionally. Product development must be geared with the customer in mind
and the customer must be engaged more often in research.
The Handspring Visor project however, was more of a challenge for all team members, and the goal
was to shatter existing norms by further reducing the physical parameters of the product. It also
challenged accepted user interface protocol. This would challenge the team members at IDEO to fail
less often , so they would be able to succeed even sooner , but the real problems were the cost and
time limitations put on the project by Handspring. Would sacrificing steps in IDEO s development
process lead to an inferior product? The evidence would come later, but initially,

  • 2. India s Political Double Standard in Releasing Rijiv... The Tamil Nadu state government s decision to release the convicts in India s former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi s assassination case caused a ripple across the nation. The Tamil Nadu cabinet on February 19, 2014 declared that they will release all the convicts with due consultations with the centre. The state chief minister J Jayalalithaa in her statement informed The cabinet has taken a decision to release the three convicts, Perarivalan, Murugan and Santhan, along with those four, Nalini, Robert Pyas, Jayakumar and Ravichandran who are undergoing life sentence. The decision will be conveyed to the Centre for appropriate action. If we don t get their response in three days, we will release all convicts in accordance with the rights granted under the Code of Criminal Procedure. The state government s decision came a day after the Supreme Court commuted death sentences on three men involved in the assassination to life imprisonment citing the 11 year delay in deciding their mercy pleas. The Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice P Sathasivam and comprising of Justices Ranjan Gogoi and S K Singh then left the decision of remission for the three convicts Murugan, Santhan and Perarivalan on the Tamil Nadu state government. The Tamil Nadu government s decision resulted in an emotional outburst from Rajiv Gandhi s son and Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi in his political rally the same day. Due to the Great Depression and World War II, the National Hockey League, (NHL) went down to six teams, according to NHL.com. The Great Depression aided in the dismissal of the Montreal Maroons, Philadelphia Quakers, St. Louis Eagles, and Brooklyn Americans. They cited financial problems as the reason they dissolved. Many teams lost quality players to participate in World War II. The remaining teams became known as the Original Six hockey franchises. These teams included the Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs, Boston Bruins, Detroit Red Wings, New York Rangers, and Chicago Blackhawks. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Two I will talk about include Wayne Gretzky and Bobby Orr. Wayne Gretzky played for the Edmonton Oilers and Los Angeles Kings during his career. He later became the all time leading point s leader in NHL history. He started his career in the WHA and stayed on the Oilers for most of his NHL career winning many Hart Trophies as league MVP as well as Stanley Cups. He was a brilliant passer and scorer and is considered one of the best to ever play the game along with Bobby Orr. His 50 goals in 39 games is a feat most likely to stand forever, along with his 92 goal season. Bobby Orr redefined what it is like to be a defenseman. He played for the Boston Bruins and won eight Norris Trophies as best defenseman and many Hart Trophies as well. His career was limited due to bad knees. He would rush up in the offensive zone and basically be another forward out there but also rush back and play stellar defense. • 4. Nuclear Power Plants In 1942, Enrico Fermi successfully sustained a nuclear fission reaction and created the world s first functional reactor. What his experiments, and those of earlier scientists like Otto Hahn and Fritz Strassman, showed was that by splitting the nucleus of heavy radioactive elements (like uranium and cadmium), energy is released, and the reaction could be designed to generate a sustained energy source (Schlager Weisblatt, 2006). Subsequent experiments illuminated the promise of nuclear energy as a reliable alternative to coal, and scientists and economists praised it as the future of energy. While nuclear power remains the most efficient form of energy (Nei.org, 2013), its early proponents failed to take into account the potentially devastating effects of a power plant overloading and exposing radioactive waste to nearby populations, and catastrophic events like the Chernobyl and Fukushima disasters have substantially undermined the promise of Nuclear Energy. The question of whether nuclear power will become the standard of energy production remains a hotly debated topic among economists and environmentalists alike. The economic costs of nuclear energy are vast, ranging from government oversights and barriers to entry, to variable human capital costs and fiercely competitive substitutes. By analyzing the economics of the establishment of a nuclear power plant, we can get closer to answering the question of whether nuclear power will become the true future of energy. In the ... Some cancers are not avoidable, but things can be done to try and prevent it. Second of all, I noticed that my grandmother and father both suffer from some type of emotional and anxiety disorders. This is a good pattern to be aware of because this means there is a possibility that my children or myself could develop an emotional disorder. Awareness of this fact helps to be able to recognize different symptoms and behaviors, and know that an emotional disorder could be present. Understanding that there is a history of physical abuse makes realize that I need to be aware of how I react and respond to certain situations. When I evaluate the genogram by looking on my mother s side, I can notice a pattern of different illnesses. Looking at my grandma, she had a rare nervous system disease along with my aunt and uncle. This information is very helpful to me especially since I know that I am right in line to potentially carry one of the illnesses. I can be aware of my physical functioning and recognize if something is wrong. I can also see a history of different types of abuse, both physical and emotional on both sides of the family. I think that watching this behavior within my family makes it easier to be emotionally abusive to those I love in my own family. I know there have been times when I have said and done things I ... • 6. What Is Sleep Paralysis SLEEP PARALYSIS RESEARCH PAPER Sleep paralysis has a history that stretches over centuries, with a vast array of people experiencing it. Some believe they have been visited by demons, or aliens in the night and attribute such events to witchcraft or Satanism. There are references to folklore from every nation throughout history. The Nightmare, is a painting by Henry Fuselli that dates to 1781, and depicts a chilling sleep paralysis incidence. In this painting, a malicious spirit sits on a man s chest while the victim lies there limp and unable to fight back. The cultural and spiritual implications of this phenomena is unique amongst neurological ailments. Isolated sleep paralysis (ISP) is the inability to move or talk during the transition between sleep and wakefulness, accompanied by auditory and visual hallucinations that are often extremely hostile. These hallucinations can include a wicked existence in the room, an impression of being touched, or hearing voices in the room. Some people see faces at the bedside. This is typically accompanied by a perceived breathlessness. Patients describe the experience as petrifying. Episodes tend to be more recurrent when sleeping in the supine position. Appelbaum Professor of Management, Faculty of Commerce Administration, Concordia University, Montreal, Quebec, Canada Integrating organizational development (OD) and technological intervention into a total system is one of the more difficult tasks for an executive or consultant to execute. Organizations are profoundly affected by technological advancements and require a ïŹ‚exible customized change model to ïŹt the social network of the speciïŹc organization into which technology is being introduced. After analysing the speciïŹc situation in any given organization, the organizational development consultant can determine that some or all elements of a traditional model may be useful for the organization in question [1, p. 41]. STS theory is probably the most extensive body of conceptual and empirical work underlying employee involvement and work design applications today Originally devel. oped at the Tavistock Institute of Human Relations in London, this approach to designing work has spread to most industrialized nations in a relatively short period of time. In Europe and particularly Scandinavia, STS theory is almost synonymous with work design and employee involvement. In Canada and the USA, STS theory has become the major underpinning of efforts involving work design. Cincinnati Milacron, Amoco, USAA, Stanley Works, General Electric, and Caterpillar are among many organizations using STS theory to design work[3, p. 352]. Over 30 years ago, the early contributions to socio technical theory by Emery and Trist or by Chern s included approaches to design of jobs and work systems. More recently, there seems to be frequent reference to STS, given the inevitable inïŹltration of technology into organizations in all industries. • 9. The State Of New York s Budget Process The State of New York s budget process involves six phases namely: The Call; The Executive Budget; Public Hearings; Legislative Amendments; Enactment Phase; and Implementation Phase. The budget process or cycle formally begins after the budget director issues the memorandum policy referred to as The Call Letter to heads of agencies. The Call Letter marks the official commencement of the budget process and starts at August and last through to October. As the early mid fall approaches, each agency assembles a final program package and is then send to the Budgetary Division. By the time December starts, the budgetary division normally has completed the preliminary commendations for both the revenues and expenditures, and subsequently presents them to respective Governor Office (New York State Government, n.d.). The second phase of the process starts in November through to January referred to as The Executive Budget. In accordance to the preliminary commendations and the most up to date economic atmosphere, the Governor along with his staff then prepares the actual executive budget and by the closure of January, the executive budget is released to the next phase (New York State Government, n.d.). The budget proposed by the Governor at this stage must be financially balanced. The budgetary terms confirming the proposed budget are very indirect requiring the Governor to classify all the expenditures he anticipated to be realized prior to the end of the subsequent fiscal year. ... The ethical researches involving Indigenous population had been increased over the last two decades and there is neither any discussion nor dissipation about the result findings with the population being researched (Stewart et al., 2006). Thus, the critics as well as the Indigenous population had always raised a question about the benefits, methods and ethical issues of research involving Indigenous population (Willie et al., 2004). • 11. Theme Of Forgiveness In The Kite Runner Some Title I ll Have To Come Up With Later Forgiveness and redemption make up considerable parts of our lives, as we all make mistakes. For some of these mistakes, we need to atone ourselves, and gain forgiveness of either ourselves or another individual. Many times, we make big decisions based receiving forgiveness on the past mistakes we have made. This theme of forgiveness and atonement is also conveyed in the Kite Runner written by Khaled Hosseini. Forgiveness and atonement is a significant theme throughout the Kite Runner because it causes many of the major events in the story, which is illustrated when characters do certain actions or make decisions driven by the possibility of atonement or forgiveness. The theme of forgiveness is shown from the very beginning of the story, when Amir tries to gain the respect and love for his father. Baba is characterized as a strong, righteous, and respected character, where Amir is portrayed as the exact opposite. Baba, as a result seems to be disappointed in Amir for this, and seems not to regard Amir very highly in his interactions with him. Amir as a result wanted Baba all to [himself]. And besides, one time at Gharga Lake, Hassan and [him were] skimming stones and Hassan made his stone skip eight times. The most [he] managed was five. Baba was there, watching, and he patted Hassan on the back. Even put his arm around his shoulder. This quote sets the stage for the novel, and reveals how he feels inferior to Hassan. Throughout ... How can companies overcome these barriers? Sociocultural differences include difference among countries in language, attitudes and value. Also some specific, and perhaps surprising, elements that affect business include nonverbal communication, forms of address, attitudes toward punctuality, religious celebrations and customs, business practices, and expectations regarding meals and gifts. The best way to jump over sociocultural barrios is to conduct thorough consumer research, cultivate firsthand knowledge, and practice extreme sensitivity. Q3. How has NAFTA impacted the U.S.? Overall, do you believe that it was a positive move for the U.S.? Why or why not? NAFTA is the treaty that created the free trading zone among the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Despite dire predictions of American jobs flowing to Mexico, the U.S. economy has grown significantly since the implementation of NAFTA. The Canadian and Mexican economies have thrived as well. Other criticisms of NAFTA include increased pollution and worker abuse. That s right. You ll be competing against 9 other men that will also be shooting arrows, so it s fair. You all will get 2 arrows, which mean 2 chances to win. It ll begin once I say three. Good Luck, he stated and stepped back. Sounds easy enough, she stated. On the count of three, arches begin. One, two, three, yelled John. The sounds of arrows being released from bows sounded from around her. While, strands of her dark hair blew across her face as she stared beyond at the target. She lifted her bow and arrow, knowing the wind would affect it. As she aimed, the others finished making the air silent except for the beating off her heart. • 15. Logical Fallacies And Pitfalls In The Crucible By Arthur... Logical Fallacies and Pitfalls in The Crucible In The Crucible, a Modern tragedy, Arthur Miller incorporates many logical fallacies including the post hoc ergo propter hoc fallacy. When Reverend John Hale, Giles Corey, and Francis Nurse visit John Proctor and his wife, they all explain how many wives are being accused of witchcraft. Giles states that Walcott charged his wife, Martha Corey, on the terms of bewitching his pigs. He says that Walcott bought one pig from his wife, and it died shortly after. He asked for his money back, but Martha refused, arguing that he will not live to own many pigs if he doesn t know how to feed them properly. Giles concludes, Now he goes to court and claims that from that day to this he cannot keep a pig alive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... During the first court proceedings, Proctor gives Danforth a document attesting the good opinions of Rebecca Nurse, Elizabeth Proctor, and Martha Corey. Danforth explains that all ninety one people who signed the testament must be summoned for questioning. He remarks that it is an attack on the court. When Proctor becomes upset about bringing trouble upon those people, Danforth states, But you must understand, sir, that a person is either with this court or he must be counted against it, there be no road between (Miller 87). The logical device functions in the scene to create a sense of hopelessness. Since there are only two outcomes in the minds of the court officials, they rush to conclusions. The girls influence on the court officials puts the decisions in their favor, leading the villagers to either confess to witchcraft or be hanged. Danforth s statement is one that guides the rest of the novel. The idea that one must either be with the court or against it leads to all of the problems in Salem. The forced choice from two alternatives creates tension, fear, and false accusations in the community. The corrupt court makes rash decisions using this reasoning. Therefore, the fallacy of the false alternative adds to the development of the play as a whole by creating a sense of hopelessness and despair for the truthful villagers in ... • 20. Human Dominion and Separation from Nature Other than Native American works, most of the works read for the class seemed to stem from or at least were influenced by some vein of Christian thinking. This can t be helped because the western world has been influenced by Christianity for centuries, and the foundational values still recognized in this country in particular are protestant, even if they re not blatantly proclaiming the faith. In fact, we even read through a few chapters of the Bible because the common theme and justification of human dominion over nature stems from the primary story of the Bible in Genesis. This theme is often a subject of great sadness or annoyance for nature writers like Wordsworth and Mary Oliver; while authors like John Muir and Bill McKibben, whom do profess to the Christian faith, still see nature as something spiritual because dominion means not just given authority, but also given the responsibility for its protection. The first chapter of Genesis establishes humanity s place in God s creation. Verse 26 in particular; Then God said, Let us make humankind in our image, according to our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea...and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth. The entire verse basically gives human authority over every genus on the planet, putting us at the top of the food chain as it were (though in the Garden humans were forbade to eat meat). The leaders of trafficking rings plan out complex and convoluted methods to first trick the victim, then get her into the destination country, and finally to keep her complacent enough to stay in that country and not alert officials. Because of this, conviction of traffickers is very difficult and according to SIWSAG, the Sex Worker Safety Action Group of Vancouver, there have only ever been five convictions for domestic sex trafficking in Canada, and no international trafficking convictions (2009). This shows both a need for more police attention to the matter and better resources for trafficked women to encourage their escape from bondage and to begin rehabilitation. Women s sexual exploitation in Latin America is attributed to the gender based social and economic inequalities that are so prominent in the societies where machismo is an accepted norm. In addition to this, many Latin American women experience a lack of economic resources, illiteracy, civil strife from political instability, and abuse within the home. All of this may force women to look for a better life and to escape their own, making them vulnerable to forces that can exploit their needs. Orientation Of Intrauterine Chord Attachment Orientation of Intrauterine Chord Attachment in Equine Effects On Viability According to the Jockey Club Registry for Thoroughbred horses, horses are given the birthday of January 1 on the year of birth (Jockey Club). Producers are looking to maximize production of pregnancy and look to have mares foal at or after January 1 to give their colts an age advantage while racing. Because of the 11 month gestations of the mare, this means she must be bred between February and March to achieve a foaling date on or after January 1. During the low day light levels in the February and March, melatonin secretions from the pituitary are increased, which will inhibit the kisspeptin neurons as well as GnRH secretrions from the hypothalamus and in turn will inhibit ovulation (Maquivar, 2016). Producers have overcome this and have used light stimulation and hormone therapies successfully in stimulating estrus during the normal anestrus period. The next step towards creating reproductively efficient mares is to study the orientation of placentation and chord attachment from the fetus to uterine walls and chorionic villi and determine if position can effect the viability of the fetus.
