How Did John Locke Influence The Constitution
Abigail Weller Honors American Government Mrs. Scott
The U.S Constitution is an important document in American history and for the U.S government.
The Constitution has lasted and endured for over two hundred years. The Two Treatises of
Government by John Locke, the English Bill of Rights, and the Articles of Confederation all
influenced the Constitution and contributed to creating ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Articles of Confederation established a weak central government and it led to conflicts among
the states. The demand for a stronger central government leads to the creation of the U.S
Constitution. The second article of the Articles of Confederation states Each state retains its
sovereignty, freedom, and independence, and every power, jurisdiction, and right, which is not by
this Confederation expressly delegated to the United States, in Congress assembled (Article of
Confederation, 1777). This article gave the states too much power, and because of that, the
government could not govern properly. This caused the Articles of Confederation to fail, which
lead to the Constitutional Convention. The Articles of Confederation helped pave the way to a

Narrative About Being Reaped
In a bright sunrise that adumbrated the potential that lay ahead, a field of corn seized my
attention on one summer run. Staring into the cornfield, I pondered which ones would be
perfect enough to be reaped. I realized, however, that many of them would be abandoned,
because they succumbed to bugs, contracted diseases, or were just inferior. My life was eerily
representative of the plight of the corn. It all commenced with a perverse inquiry: Hilton Head
Island, a resort city on the Atlantic Ocean, is in what state? I was mortified. I had never
answered a question wrong in the school level geography bee before. Earning top twelve in the
states in fifth and sixth grade made me poised to possibly make Nationals that year, resulting in
high expectations from nearly everyone I knew. Hastily, I wrote down my best educated guess,
hoping that the boy I was facing (who incidentally bullied me incessantly throughout middle
school) would err as well. However, the corn in me that was about to be reaped was thrown on the
ground and forgotten.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My bully vanquished me and progressed to states, and my chances at a $25,000 scholarship
dwindled. The talent that separated me from everyone else did not just seem unspectacular; it
was inferior. The bully had taken control of my life, excluding me from the varsity math team
although my scores were better than half the team, and isolating me from all the friends I once
had, leaving me aloof everywhere I was. Suddenly, I was a failure, an unathletic nerd who wore
effeminate clothing, and a loser with no life. Mired in depression in subsequent years, I cried
almost every night, refused to eat, and lost all the confidence that I never had in me. I desperately
needed to find a new talent, one that could give me the identity I was sorely

The Association Of The National Rifle Association
The National Rifle Association, also known as the NRA, is a nonprofit organization founded in
1871 with the original goal to promote and encourage rifle shooting on a scientific basis.
Additionally, there was a heavy focus of proper shooting sports among America s youth. It featured
multiple shooting programs and developed ranges for members to use and train. Through the use of
their magazine The American Rifleman members of the NRA were informed regarding firearm
bills. With the passage of the National Firearms Act of 1934, the NRA formed the Legislative
Affairs Division (LAD). The early days of the LAD were not to lobby directly. The purpose of the
LAD was to encourage members to proceed with their own action to combat the infringement of
Second Amendment Rights by mailing legislative facts and analysis to members.
However, in 1975, the NRA recognized the need for political defense of the Second Amendment
and formed the Institute for Legislative Action (ILA). In addition to the protection of the Second
Amendment, education was a key initiative for the NRA by providing certification for law
enforcement officials and the general public. With regards to the general public, the NRA
continues to be the leader in firearms education. The NRA offers courses to instruct and train
individual gun owners. An example of gun education would be in 1988, the NRA established the
Eddie Eagle GunSafe Program teaching 21 million pre kindergarten to sixth grade children to

Pirates and their Influence through the Caribbean People who adopted piracy had to adapt
because of colonialism and the battles between England and the Spanish. Those who couldn t

Google Vs. Google Net Worth
Google is a very unique company to say the least. The company was founded by Sergey
Mikhaylovich Brin and Lawrence Page, an American computer scientists and en trepreneurs. The
two friends met while attending Stanford University and created Google as their research project in
1996. Although the internet search engines existed before, this one was different. While the
traditional search networks determined the page s relevance based on the number of times that the
search term was used on the site, Googleengine ranked pages judging their relevance based on the
links between the various sites.

Now Google has a very strong grip of phones utilizing their operating system. Looking at the

problem is Google is not very known for their devices, but we will get into that later on.
Another major strength that Google has is that because this company has such a strong market
share in areas such as Email applications (Gmail), Internet search engines (Google search),
consumer maps (Google maps), there is a healthy and steady ecosystem that this compa ny can and

With two tunnels and four bridges built in the 1920s and 1930s, and bus terminal facilities that are
over a half century old, large scale projects are necessary to provide safe, efficient, resilient, and
modern facilities. Given the magnitude of ongoing investments including the raising of the
Bayonne Bridge roadway and the replacement of the Goethals Bridge, TB T has had to enter into
innovative arrangements for construction, project finance, interagency coordination, and
community relations. 6.1.3 Fuel Tax Challenge Complicating TB T s asset invest needs is the fact
that the once dependable fuel tax is no longer producing revenues at the rate required to maintain
transportation infrastructure. According to the Wall Street Journal, improved fuel economy and the
rise of hybrid and electric vehicles means that additional driving won t match higher gasoline sales.
Furthermore, how much people pay for the roads won t necessarily correspond to how much they
use them. Traditionally, the United States has met increased demand by building new facilities that
expand capacity, but this is no longer feasible for a variety of reasons. The time to move through
the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process is often extensive, land acquisition may no
longer be possible, and now fuel tax revenues may be insufficient to pay for new investments in
infrastructure. As a result, transportation agencies and policymakers must explore new

Lab Report Yeast Fermentation
ABSTRACT The experiment performed was designed and processed to determine if yeast cells are
able to undergo fermentation with other food molecules when enclosed in a fermentation tube with
no oxygen. The yeast and food molecules were mixed together evenly and allowed to incubate for
approximately one hour. The tests were then carried out to determine if respiration (anaerobic and
aerobic) took place within the fermentation tubes. If there was any detection of carbon dioxidethen
that is an indicator of a respiration taking place. If there was any detection of ethanolthen
fermentation took place. If there was a presence of both carbon dioxide and ethanol, then respiration
and fermentation took place. The process of fermentation uses more glucose and is much more
inefficient compared to cellular respiration. During this experiment the positive control, glucose,
guaranteed fermentation. While the negative control, water, inhibited the process of fermentation.
Independent variables consisted of other forms of food molecules. The results in this lab were
recorded to indicate whether or not fermentation will occur on the selected food molecules.... Show

When there is a presence of oxygen we call that respiration, while fermentation requires no
oxygen. The lack of the presence of oxygen is also called anaerobic respiration. Fermentation is a
very quick method to produce fast ATP or energy for cells. Fermentation is also a very inefficient
way to produce energy as opposed to cellular respiration. The variant outputs of ATP production

The Impact of Illegal Immigration on the United States
Immigration is one of the hot topics in today s society: legal and illegal. According to, Philip E.
Wolgin, in his article, Immigration Polling Roundup: Americans of All Political Stripes Want
Congress to Pass Immigration Reform , there are 11.7 million unauthorized immigrants living in
America today. From 1990 2007, immigrationincreased from 3.5 million to 12.2 million. Since
2007, immigration has decreased and fluctuated from 12.2 million illegal immigrants to 11.7
million illegal immigrants. In the article, Splitting the Difference on Illegal Immigration , Peter
Skerry states that, included in the eleven million illegal immigrants, there are more than one
million children under the age of eighteen. He also said that the illegal immigrants make up
roughly four percent of our nation s population, five percent of the work force, and twenty eight
percent of the foreign born residents. There are a lot of negative connotations that most people
connect with illegal immigration. Some people will say that illegal immigrants take away from the
economy by using government services and not paying any taxes, but they also tend to say that a
lot of illegal immigrants will take the lower paying jobs that most Americans do not want. These
two reasons are both negative and positive effects of legal and illegal immigration. Likewise, when
people think about immigration they usually think about just the Mexicans that come over from
Mexico, since Mexico is just right next door, but

Examples Of Naturalism In Sister Carrie
Analysis of naturalism in Sister Carrie
Naturalism emerged in the mid of the 19th century in America as an outgrowth of realism. It was
inspired by Charles Darwin s theory of evolution. Naturalism stresses the idea that any individual
has a predetermined destiny influenced by social factors and that one s character is formed on the
basis of heredity. One s life is governed by environment and heredity which can t be controlled by
anyone. Sister Carrie is a novel describing the harsh realities of the American people in an era of
urban consumerism which defined that period. Dreiser chose to name his novel Sister Carrie
because he was inspired by the events which occurred in his own sister s life.

Cryptography Is A Science That Transforms Information Into...
In recent times providing security to the information is the major issue. There are many
applications developed by the cyber terrorists, cyber criminals, script kidders etc. to steal the
private information like passwords, ATM pin numbers, and credit card details so on. One of the
solution to protect the information is Cryptography, which is the focus of this paper.
Cryptography is a science that transforms information into secure form by providing basic
protections. These protections include confidentiality, Integrity, Availability, Authentication, and
Nonrepudiation (Ciampa 189). Let s understand the characteristics of information and their
description (see table 1).
The term Cryptography was originated from Greek. In Greek Crypto means hidden and grapy
means writing. Simply, cryptography means scrambling data so that it cannot be read or access
by an unauthorized person. The ancient cryptographer Julius Caesar sent messages to his
commanders by shifting each letter in his message to three places down in the alphabet. A was
replaced by D, B was replaced by E and so on (Ciampa 186). This method of changing the original
text into a secret message is called encryption and retrieving back to the original form is called
decryption.
The clear plaintext is given as input to the cryptographic algorithm. According to Stallings
cryptographic algorithms consists of mathematical functions which are used to encrypt and decrypt
the data (44). A key is a mathematical value which

Conditions in these were terrible, Most people had no lights or any air. They were overcrowded.
They were very dirty. Laws were eventually made to improve the conditions in these tenement

Strategic Management

Sky West, Inc.
1. The dominant characteristics of the U.S. regional airline industry are they are mostly
controlled by larger airlines or have a contract with them to secure flights. . Most regional airlines
are there for smaller communities to access a flight to the major hubs. Most of the regional
airlines service to major airports, so they are connected or part of a servicing contract with national
airlines, who in turn are part of the operations of the global airline industry. Smaller aircraft and
retired aircraft from the national and global airline industry are used for regional flights.

As major airlines go bankrupt, opportunities to take over the flights and collect on that revenue that
was going to the majors can be realized for Sky West. It can go global. External threats include
rising fuel costs, and limited domestic opportunities.
7. The company s future is promising. Revenues are increasing and its load factor is improving.
Operating expenses are decreasing and compared to other regional airlines, SkyWest offers better
benefits and compensation packages. It is performing efficiently; more so as each year passes.
8. SkyWest, Inc. must seek global markets to enter that allow joint ventures and potential for growth
to strengthen the company s competitive position. I would recommend the management stay on top
of technological advances in aircraft and purchase fuel efficient jets to lower fuel costs. Also, a
plan to consolidate ASA offices with the offices of SkyWest would cut down operating costs.

2. Five Forces Analysis for SkyWest.
Threat of New Entrants. The threat of new entrants is not a strong threat for SkyWest, Inc. because
of its control of distribution channels is high (i.e. service contracts with major airlines), its
proprietary knowledge is high as the company is an established company with experience in the
industry, and capital requirements are high.

The symptoms of pain, numbness, tingling or weakness are the result of the inflammatory
process within the carpal tunnel that leads to compression of the median nerve. The
compression and resulting impingement of the median nerve results in ischemia. The ischemia
leads to the symptoms of numbness, tingling, pain and weakness of the hand and/or forearm.
The FNP should inspect the wrist and hands of the patient with symptoms of CTS, looking for
skin color and temperature changes, deformities and muscle wasting. The active and passive
range of motion (ROM) of the neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists and fingers should be accessed.
Muscle strength should be assessed at the shoulder, elbow, wrist and fingers. Spurling s test for

are uneducated and different. But by segregating the Roma and not allowing them in our schools
they wont ever be able to better them self s and blend better into society. Roma society s deal with
stereotyping, prejudice, and discrimination which I am going to discuss in this paper. First the
Roma society s deal with people stereotyping them into one lump. People see them as uneducated,
but partially we are to blame because we wont allow them to merge into our society. Due to them
being uneducated they live in poverty. Gypsies are stereotyped as being poor, due to this we treat
them poorly regardless if we know if they are poor or not. Last we also treat them differently and
define them by the way they dress. But by us stereotyping them we are taking away their
opportunities to better themselves. Second the Roma society s deal with prejudice everyday. For

African civilizations which includes talking about Charles Darwin s The Descent of Man and
how the first people originated from Africa instead of Asia like people once thought. The chapter
also delves into how the beings before homo sapiens began to evolve and slowly learn new skills.
Some of these skills include hunting, creating fire, learning to make clothes and many other useful
strategies to for the people living at the time. As time went on, Africans learned to make more
useful agriculture tools with the help of iron. Iron was a huge technological advancement around
2000 B.C. giving the people of the time many new ways to grow and harvest plants more efficiently.

The War Plan For South Korea
North and South Korea, which have technically been at war for the last 65 years, are again acting
like it. (npr.org) They ve always been fighting each other, and this is another one of their battles. It
all started when there was an explosive from landmines in the DMZ, which is the sort of de facto
border that separates North and South Korea, which injured two South Korean soldiers that the
South has blamed on North Koreabut, of course, North Korea has not apologized for. (npr.org) That
angered South Korea which lead them to start anti North propaganda broadcasting through
loudspeakers. Consequently, both sides have been arguing at the DMZ. Then, everything was
settled when both sides made an agreement; however, no one really knows what Kim Jong Un will
do. As a result, the United Statesare hesitant, so the top U.S. commanders reviewed the U.S. war

find out in what area kids with ADHD suffer from.
Results:
Results from the studies showed that children that have ADHD have difficulties in social
relationships. Children with ADHD are turned away by their peers, more than children without
ADHD. Studies to assess social impairments in children with ADHD were done using peer
ratings. Which rated the quality and number of friendships, measured the children s ability of
problem solving skills and self control. Teacher and parent ratings of children s social ability
were also used to measure social impairments. The data indicated that children with ADHD are
more probable to bully others or to be a victim of bullying. In addition, children with ADHD are
inclined to be aggressive or passive, yet both turned away by their peers. Furthermore, children
who were diagnosed with ADHD at the ages of 4 6 continued to show social deficits as they got
older too.
Studies showed significant social and academic impairment for children with ADHD as opposed to
the children without ADHD. Children with ADHD scored remarkably lower on teacher rating

The prices of commodity goods are going up and down. The reason of price fluctuation is changes

The change in one of them will cause price fluctuate. For instance the problem with supply may
cause poor harvest or loss in production. Change in demand can be caused by change in
technology, income or substitutes (Parkin 2010). Mostly in agricultural or commodity markets
there is large price fluctuation in price in very short time. This can give negative impact on

Analysis Of The Book I m Going At The Beach
Introduction 45 to 60 seconds
Audio
Amy loves to read historical fiction novels. She has collected many of these novels over the years.
One day she hopes to write her own fiction novels. For now, she enjoys writing short fiction as a
way to practice her writing skills.
When Amy writes her fictional short stories she makes sure to include a good plot structure and
exciting characters.
The most fun part for Amy is figuring out what type of conflict she will create for her characters.
She also enjoys demonstrating through her writing how unique her characters are. She does this by
allowing them to speak in dialects specific to their birth place.
For example, in one of her stories, the main character is from New Jersey. So, each time the
character refers to the beach, she says down the shore.
Saying I m going down the shore , instead I m going to the beach, is common among those born in
New Jersey.
Even though her characters do not speak formal English, Amy writes all of her short fiction in
formal academic English.

work of fiction is a mixture of formal and informal

Speech Learning Mechanism
SLM (Flege, 1995, 2003) is based on the assumption that the speech learning mechanism remains
intact across the life span. It predicts that adults retain the ability to acquire new phonetic
categories in their L2, contrary to the notion of a critical period (Lenneberg, 1967; Penfield
Roberts, 1959). However, the acquisition of L2 speech sounds depends on the perceived cross
language phonetic distance and the state of development of the L1; thus, in this view, the L1 acts
as a template or filter at the early stages of L2 acquisition. A crucial assumption of SLM is that L1
and L2 phonetic subsystems are not fully separated and that L2 speech sounds may be judged to be
instances of L1 speech sound categories. SLM attempts to explain how speech perceptionaffects L2
phonological acquisition by distinguishing two kinds of sounds: new and similar. New sounds are
those that are not identified with any L1 sound, while similar sounds are those perceived to be the
same as certain L1 sounds. In this view, a process of equivalence classification hinders or prevents
the establishment of new phonetic categories for similar sounds. The L1 system becomes attuned
to just those contrasts of the language that are meaningful in the L1, so the system becomes
resistant to the addition of new categories. L1 and L2 sounds are posited to exist in a shared system.
Therefore, SLM predicts that when a new phonetic category is established for an L2 sound that is
close to an L1 sound,

The Pros And Cons Of Foreign Aid
To Aid or Not to Aid
Foreign aid has played an enormous role in the United States government policy, especially since
the mid twentieth century, following World War II. At that time, the U.S. began providing financial
aid, through the Marshall Plan, to help rebuild Europe (Williams, 2015). Today, foreign aid has
evolved to mean a variety of things. Foreign aid is not strictly financial assistance. According to
Williams in the Encyclopedia Britannica (2015), foreign assistance can include military assistance
or equipment, medical assistance or equipment, or technical assistance and training. However, the
most common foreign aid is official development assistance, which is organized through
international organizations such as the World Bank, International Monetary Fund or UNICEF and
used to address poverty and promote development (Williams 2015). Many people feel in the United
States feel that it is necessary to provide foreign assistance to the world. It is thought that helping
less developed economies improves the market for everyone. Others feel that many people are in
need here in the United States and that it does not make sense to send aid to other countries when
people need right in their own city, state, or country. Most people think that a large portion of the
U.S. budget is devoted to foreign aid. In contrast, according to Rutsch (2015), the U.S. spends less
than 1 percent of the federal budget on foreign aid . With the state of the world today,

The Russian Church is the oldest Christian church in Russia, and one of the most established

Cultural Influence Of The Meiji Era On Japanese Food Culture
In producing an anthropological account of my chosen meal event, which is my experience of
dining at the Meiji restaurant in Osaka, I will use a mixed theoretical approach which is
influenced by Mintz s (1985) Sweetness and Power to show how material conditions and
symbolic representations of food are interrelated. Firstly, I will look at the historical influence of
the Meiji Era on Japanese food culture (Anderson 2005; Hiroko 2008). I will then look at gender
in Japanese food culture, specifically how masculinity is associated with fish markets and sushi
preparation, and how these culturally engrained gender roles correlate with my observations
and experience at the restaurant (Corson 2009; Bestor 2004; Holden 2005). Finally I will
discuss the biocultural complexity of food preferences, followed by an analysis of how food is
related to identity formation and highly symbolic, and whether this symbolic meaning
presupposes food preferences created by materialist conditions (Fischler 1988; Rappoport 2003;
Harris 1985; Levi Strauss 1963). The most memorable meal event I have experienced occurred over
a two week period at a restaurant in Osaka called Meiji . In early 2012 my partner and I visited
Osaka for just over two weeks, choosing our vacation destination based on mutual appreciation for
Japanese cuisineand onsen , Japanese bath. On our third night in Osaka we were wandering down

Reus Vs Mens Rea Of Conspiracy
When understanding conspiracy it is important to understand its two meanings. The two meaning
of conspiracy are, first, much like attempt it focuses on the offenders conduct such as agreeing to

commit the crime are also held liable for the other parties and their actions (Kadish, Schulhofer,

on the agreement and intent. In the commonwealth v. Camerano case the court determined that
intent is a requisite mental state for conspiracy, not mere knowledge or acquiescence (Kadish,

The Tuskegee Untreated Syphilis Experiment
In 1946 to 1948 the United States, with the help of cooperating Guatemalan health ministries and
officials, led a horrible experiment on innocent people infecting them with syphilis to see how
effective peninsilyn would be in treating the disease. Doctors had infected soldiers, prostitutes,
mental patients and prisoners without their knowledge or consent, and treated most but not all with
antibiotics, primarily penicillin. About 76 percent of the nearly 1500 subjects infected with the
disease were given adequate treatment and about one quarter of the test subjects had documents of
completing the treatment process. This act was a direct violation of human rights, the experiment
was conducted with a lack of consistency and respect of the subjects... Show more content on

They operated on them without consent and treated them inhumanely. The Guatemala syphilis
experiment shares many similarities with the Nazi experiments, yet the United States are not
recognized by all with the same perspective as Nazi researchers were. Although they both infected
and medically operated on people against their will, conducted experiments on people without
telling them what they were doing, lied about their procedures to the test subjects, conducted
experiments on people of different nationalities and race, and acted without consent so they could
gather information for their own knowledge (which is mostly public knowledge

The Struggle Between Economics And Ecology
Right from the end of the 19th Century and the beginning of the 20th Century, there has been a
fierce debate concerning how economic growth or development affects the environment or
ecological setup of a country. The debate has its basis on whether it would be recommendable for
a nation to concentrate on growing its economy while at the same time hurting or harming its
ecological system. Naturalists like Pinchot Gifford, John Muir, Love Canal and Cuyahoga County
always argued in favor of environmental preservation as opposed to concentrating all efforts
towards developing the economy (Olmes 154; Miller 150 51). This paper will, therefore, discuss
the struggle between economicsand ecology specifically looking at particular events across the
Twentieth Century. It will also attempt to explain the factors involved in the pursuit for change on
the way people and the administration perceived the environmental conservation as opposed to
economic growth.
The Twentieth Century conservationists like John Muir and Gifford Pinchotalways argued that it
was important for the government of the day to strike a balance between the two conflicting goals
of economic development and environmental conservation. According to Menzel (2007; 3 4), other
environmental movements in the USA had been in constant conflict with industrial enterprises. The
major root cause of conflict being the fact that industrial enterprises had ignored the fact their
activities were hurting the environment through

The Trope Of Disillusionment In Thomas Hardy s Jude The...
Disillusionment is one of the major thematic thrusts of literary enterprise from the time
immemorial. This foregrounds the fact that man s disillusionment is ontological. The study
investigates the trope of disillusionment in Thomas Hardy s Jude the Obscure. The paper reveals
different struggles that Jude, the eponymous character, passes through. Through Hardy s explicit
portrayal of life in Victorian society, Hardy condemns human institutions which endlessly
perpetuate people in suffering, castration of hopes and limit them socio politically. In spite of his
legitimate and lofty dreams, Jude dies like a dog. Moreover, social factor responsible for the
abortion of Jude s ambitions and ruination of his destiny are emphasised in the study. The... Show

Sue informs Little Father Time that a new child is on the way. This news rather being good news
for him makes him to become gloomy. He castigates Sue for being responsible for the family s
harsh and hellish conditions. He knows that the arrival of yet another child will only aggravate the
plight of the family. Little Father Time, therefore, concludes that it would be better for him and
other children to die than to be subjected to a life of frustration, hopelessness, isolation, alienation,
rejection and endless wandering. As Sue goes out to look for Jude, Little Father Time hangs other
children and himself. This unfortunate scenario has serious effect on both Sue and Jude. Jude is
psychologically depressed, while Sue s uncontrollable grief leads to her giving birth to a stillborn
child. Jude the Obscure reflects and refracts man s gloom which has to do with short, horrible and
harsh life. Lending his voice to the gloom and disillusionment of the modern world, Fraser
(1964:16) states that the world is a fallen world, man a fallen creature . Metaphorically speaking,
the stillborn child represents Jude s

The Anti Social Behavior Orders
Introduction This essay examines the Anti social behaviour Orders, that were implemented in the
United Kingdom, and disputes the fact that it socially excludes already ostracized and
disadvantaged persons within society. This is due that it only removes the problem behaviours

address antisocial behaviour orders and the will give a brief overview of there implementation and
there indented outcome. It will then go onto discuss crime preventions theories that where taken

These orders are where not indented to be criminal sanctions and where not established as a
punitive tool, however to rather act as a preventative measure (The Crown Prosecution Service,
n.d). Theory Behind ASBOS ASBOs where built on multitude of theories, one being the theory of
developmental crime prevention, which is essentially to reduce the criminal probability within
individuals, with the idea that social and individual factors guide a person s overall development
(Sullivan, 2013). This approach looks at the ability to encourage positive environments for
development to diminish risk factors such as disability s, isolation, poverty, life events such as
divorce and to increase protective factors, such as support and training. It is important to note that
theses risk elements alone do not calculate future offending, however, are important when
considering potential behavioural and developmental issues that may occur later (Australian
Institute of Criminology, 2002). This theory was applied to ASBOs as its key, due to that theses
order aim is to identify risk behaviours, such as anti social behaviour, and prohibit theses
behaviours progressing any

Staring into the cornfield, I pondered which ones would be perfect enough to be reaped. I realized, however, that many of them would be abandoned, because they succumbed to bugs, contracted diseases, or were just inferior. My life was eerily representative of the plight of the corn. It all commenced with a perverse inquiry: Hilton Head Island, a resort city on the Atlantic Ocean, is in what state? I was mortified. I had never answered a question wrong in the school level geography bee before. Earning top twelve in the states in fifth and sixth grade made me poised to possibly make Nationals that year, resulting in high expectations from nearly everyone I knew. Hastily, I wrote down my best educated guess, hoping that the boy I was facing (who incidentally bullied me incessantly throughout middle school) would err as well. Through the use of their magazine The American Rifleman members of the NRA were informed regarding firearm bills. With the passage of the National Firearms Act of 1934, the NRA formed the Legislative Affairs Division (LAD). The early days of the LAD were not to lobby directly. The purpose of the LAD was to encourage members to proceed with their own action to combat the infringement of Second Amendment Rights by mailing legislative facts and analysis to members. However, in 1975, the NRA recognized the need for political defense of the Second Amendment and formed the Institute for Legislative Action (ILA). In addition to the protection of the Second Amendment, education was a key initiative for the NRA by providing certification for law enforcement officials and the general public. With regards to the general public, the NRA continues to be the leader in firearms education. The NRA offers courses to instruct and train individual gun owners. Lab Report Yeast Fermentation ABSTRACT The experiment performed was designed and processed to determine if yeast cells are able to undergo fermentation with other food molecules when enclosed in a fermentation tube with no oxygen. The yeast and food molecules were mixed together evenly and allowed to incubate for approximately one hour. The tests were then carried out to determine if respiration (anaerobic and aerobic) took place within the fermentation tubes. If there was any detection of carbon dioxidethen that is an indicator of a respiration taking place. If there was any detection of ethanolthen fermentation took place. If there was a presence of both carbon dioxide and ethanol, then respiration and fermentation took place. The process of fermentation uses more glucose and is much more inefficient compared to cellular respiration. During this experiment the positive control, glucose, guaranteed fermentation. While the negative control, water, inhibited the process of fermentation. Independent variables consisted of other forms of food molecules. One of the solution to protect the information is Cryptography, which is the focus of this paper. Cryptography is a science that transforms information into secure form by providing basic protections. Simply, cryptography means scrambling data so that it cannot be read or access by an unauthorized person. The ancient cryptographer Julius Caesar sent messages to his commanders by shifting each letter in his message to three places down in the alphabet. This method of changing the original text into a secret message is called encryption and retrieving back to the original form is called decryption. One day she hopes to write her own fiction novels. For now, she enjoys writing short fiction as a way to practice her writing skills. When Amy writes her fictional short stories she makes sure to include a good plot structure and exciting characters. The most fun part for Amy is figuring out what type of conflict she will create for her characters. She also enjoys demonstrating through her writing how unique her characters are. She does this by allowing them to speak in dialects specific to their birth place. For example, in one of her stories, the main character is from New Jersey. So, each time the character refers to the beach, she says down the shore. Saying I m going down the shore , instead I m going to the beach, is common among those born in New Jersey. • 38. Speech Learning Mechanism SLM (Flege, 1995, 2003) is based on the assumption that the speech learning mechanism remains intact across the life span. It predicts that adults retain the ability to acquire new phonetic categories in their L2, contrary to the notion of a critical period (Lenneberg, 1967; Penfield Roberts, 1959). However, the acquisition of L2 speech sounds depends on the perceived cross language phonetic distance and the state of development of the L1; thus, in this view, the L1 acts as a template or filter at the early stages of L2 acquisition. A crucial assumption of SLM is that L1 and L2 phonetic subsystems are not fully separated and that L2 speech sounds may be judged to be instances of L1 speech sound categories. SLM attempts to explain how speech perceptionaffects L2 phonological acquisition by distinguishing two kinds of sounds: new and similar. New sounds are those that are not identified with any L1 sound, while similar sounds are those perceived to be the same as certain L1 sounds. In this view, a process of equivalence classification hinders or prevents the establishment of new phonetic categories for similar sounds. The L1 system becomes attuned to just those contrasts of the language that are meaningful in the L1, so the system becomes resistant to the addition of new categories. L1 and L2 sounds are posited to exist in a shared system. Therefore, SLM predicts that when a new phonetic category is established for an L2 sound that is close to an L1 sound, ... The Pros And Cons Of Foreign Aid To Aid or Not to Aid Foreign aid has played an enormous role in the United States government policy, especially since the mid twentieth century, following World War II. At that time, the U.S. began providing financial aid, through the Marshall Plan, to help rebuild Europe (Williams, 2015). Today, foreign aid has evolved to mean a variety of things. Cultural Influence Of The Meiji Era On Japanese Food Culture In producing an anthropological account of my chosen meal event, which is my experience of dining at the Meiji restaurant in Osaka, I will use a mixed theoretical approach which is influenced by Mintz s (1985) Sweetness and Power to show how material conditions and symbolic representations of food are interrelated. Firstly, I will look at the historical influence of the Meiji Era on Japanese food culture (Anderson 2005; Hiroko 2008). I will then look at gender in Japanese food culture, specifically how masculinity is associated with fish markets and sushi preparation, and how these culturally engrained gender roles correlate with my observations and experience at the restaurant (Corson 2009; Bestor 2004; Holden 2005). Finally I will discuss the biocultural complexity of food preferences, followed by an analysis of how food is related to identity formation and highly symbolic, and whether this symbolic meaning presupposes food preferences created by materialist conditions (Fischler 1988; Rappoport 2003; Harris 1985; Levi Strauss 1963). The Struggle Between Economics And Ecology Right from the end of the 19th Century and the beginning of the 20th Century, there has been a fierce debate concerning how economic growth or development affects the environment or ecological setup of a country. The debate has its basis on whether it would be recommendable for a nation to concentrate on growing its economy while at the same time hurting or harming its ecological system. Naturalists like Pinchot Gifford, John Muir, Love Canal and Cuyahoga County always argued in favor of environmental preservation as opposed to concentrating all efforts towards developing the economy (Olmes 154; Miller 150 51).
