Comparing Home Burial And Commander Lowell
Have you ever stopped and thought where you would be in life with no family? Throughout
both the poems they base everything around the family and what s best for it. The first poem I
read was Home Burial by Robert Frost, which is about a husband and a wife talking about the
death of their child and while the wife is at the top of the staircase looking out the window and
her child s grave. The second poem was Commander Lowell by Robert Lowell, here the author
talks about his father s life growing up, such as him leaving the Navy for a better paying job. In
this essay I will show you three different poetical elements I found in both poems such as theme,
rhyme, and enjambments. In this essay I hope to show how both authors are similar but different at
the same time.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout both poems both authors did a very good job of basing both of them about family. In
Home Burial Frost shows this when the husband first tries to talk about their child s death and the
wife gets very upset because she does not want to bring up the death (). By the wife getting so
upset about the topic of her dead child, you can see their family is very family based because
otherwise they would not be getting into a tense conversation. In Commander Lowell, Lowell
shows the theme as family by telling his dad s story about when he leaves the Navy. With
seamanlike celerity / Father left the Navy, / and deeded Mother his property (Stanza 3). This
quote shows the father wanted to leave the Navy so he could get a better job and wanted his child
and wife to have a better

Aeneas Virtue
Virtue is a key theme in the literature of the Greeks and Romans. Aeneas, an incredibly virtuous
man, is still limited by his humanity. Though he is strongly compelled by his sense of duty, his
even stronger emotions often distract him. Contrastly, Socrates is portrayed by Plato to be at a
level just above human. He is capable of seeing past emotion and impulses of the flesh in a
manner few others, if any at all, are able to do. Socratestranscendence beyond earthly desires and
focus on the betterment of the soulallows him to be the foremost instructor in virtuedespite
unfavorable circumstances; Aeneas, on the other hand, is a virtuous leader who is hindered by
his furor, or uncontrolled emotion, and relies on heavenly guidance to keep him in check. Many
virtuous deeds were done by the hands of Aeneas. He is a good man and an exceptional leader.
This is exemplified by the way he and his father take the Greek Achaemenides into their party
after the man was left by his own companions to die on the island of Polyphemus the Cyclops
(Aen. 3.706 712). The Trojans had only recently escaped the destruction of their beloved Ilium,
which fell because they trusted another Greek, Sinon, who also claimed to be abandoned by his
countrymen (Aen. 2.74 76). Aeneas, refusing to draw parallels between Achaemenides and the
traitorous Sinon, shows compassion to the Greek warrior whom he knows nothing about. Later,
Aeneas again shows his capabilities as a leader during his father s funeral

Advantages Of Helical Spring
CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
GENERAL INTRODUCTION
1.1 Helical Spring
Helical spring is defined as an elastic body, whose function is to distort when loaded and to recover
its original shape when the load is removed. The helical springs are made up of a wire coiled in the
form of a helix and are primarily intended for compressive or tensile loads. The cross section of the
wire from which the spring is made may be circular, square or rectangular. Helical compression
springs have applications to resist applied compression forces or in the push mode, store energy
to provide the push . Different forms of compression springs are produced. The helical springs are
said to be closely coiled when the spring wire is coiled so close that the plane containing each ...

Humorous Wedding Speech by a Friend of the Groom Essays
Humorous Wedding Speech by a Friend of the Groom
Good afternoon, Ladies and Gentlemen.
I would first like to thank you all for coming today and helping to make Marcus and Adrian s
wedding such a memorable and special occasion. Personally, I wish you d all stayed at home and
made my job less nerve wracking.
When I was asked to be in the wedding party I decided that I needed to know what the role
entailed. I have now read several books, and all of them include a last minute checklist to guarantee
a smooth wedding. So, to give you a feel for the pressure I ve been under, here are some of the
things I ve had to remember from my checklist:
1) See that all ex girlfriends are kept at bay.
Now then, Marcus discovered girls a lot ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is a bit of an odd one, which I decided to skip. Marcus is 28 years old, after all and, as you can
see, he s just about learnt to do it for himself now. I m just amazed he s chosen an appropriate outfit
to wear, because he s not renowned for his fashion sense. I was equally amazed a few years ago,
when I discovered that Marcus is not, in fact, color blind. To quote his boss, Marcus wears
extremely colorful clothing for a man still living as a heterosexual.
4) Bring an emergency kit full of the following items: aspirin, deodorant, valium, tooth brush and a
thick black marker pen.
Well, as it turns out, Marcus brought all those things himself plus a couple of other things that
weren t on the list: a hunting knife and a cycling magazine. Not sure why he bought the knife,
but the magazine doesn t surprise me because as a kid, Marcus was well into his bikes. He was
always getting the latest model of whatever was the latest craze. This was great for me because
he would generally have a spare bike for me to ride. In fact, I spent an entire summer riding around
with great pleasure on Marcus s Chopper.
5) Make a speech to the bride and groom.
Well, I thought that this meant just the bride and groom, so you can understand why I was a little
flustered when I was told it was to 95 others as well.
6) Dance with the bride, after the groom, her father, and her father in law. Now don t get me
wrong, I have no problem dancing with Adrian, but I draw

New Technology Research Paper
Throughout the 20th century, the advancements of technology have increased, as well as the
population in each state prison. The real question is has technology advanced enough
throughout the years to help capture criminals more than the years past? Having new
technology will increase the number of criminals to be caught, even on cold case files. As the
years surpassed, cases became cold but only the technology has not. New systems were
implemented in DNA testing, allowing it to be easier to trace down one criminal. Tracing back to
earlier years you ll notice that s where most technology rose from. In the 1800s the first use of
toxicology (arsenic detection) was used in a jury. A few years after the first recorded use,
fingerprints helped linked suspected to crimes . The developments became easier to detect which
leads to the development of the first crystal test for hemoglobin hemin crystals. Shortly after, the...

The study of voice print identification was noticed to help the list of suspects narrow down to a
shorter list. Borkenstein came in with the invention of the breathalyzer for the field of sobriety
tests in 1954. Another invention helping out the judicial system is the development of scanning
electron microscopes with electron dispersive x ray technology, which helped with the lie
detector testing that was developed in 1902. The 21st century was where many advancements
were fixed and also created. The Department of Forensic Science will still develop and mature.

Essay On Iran Nuclear Deal
The Iran Nuclear Deal: Retain or Abolish? Currently, The USA position about Iran nuclear deal
has been one of the most controversial topics in the political and international affairs fields. People
are taking sides about what should be the best decision for the USA government. Should the USA
tear up the deal or stay in it?
During these past days, the news is so focused on the subject Iran, here are some headlines:
Scuttling the Iran deal will lead to another North Korea, how the Iran deal prevents a covert
nuclear weapons program, the sun sets on a good Iran deal. The question is what all these
headlines have in common? In my opinion, I think that the best decision for the USA government
is to stay in the Iran nuclear deal for three ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As president Trump s reluctance to certify if Iran is following all the requirements, it illustrates that
the deal remains under threat.
First all, the USA administration, president Donald Trump and some his political adviser, are
willing to end up the USA involvement in the JCPOA and the US president claimed that it was the
worse decision. For me, it was one of the most successful deals in the last years because it is
preventing Iran from building nuclear weapons and provide improved transparency. Which means
that under a nuclear agreement, Iran has the obligation to permit the International Atomic Energy
Agency (IAEA) to conduct a deep inspection on Iran s nuclear facilities if IAEA requests to do so.
However, If Iran violates the agreement, it will severely punish and all sanctions will come back
and Iran aliens will not be able to reverse the situation or block the sanction applied to Iran such
as economic, political and others that can break the Iran economy. The US government can do
nothing to stop Iran to improve its nuclear weapons. If Iran decided not to make new nuclear
weapons, it was because they decided not to do it.
Some disagree that, the Obama administration is prepared to sign an agreement that will expire in
a mere 10 years time. At this point, any restriction that the deal imposes on Iran would be vanish.
Iran s economy would be free from all nuclear related sanctions and its government would be
treated the same as any other

The Health Care Field At The Association Of Schools Of...
According to The Association of Schools of Allied Health Professions (2016), allied health is the
segment of the health care field that delivers services involving the identification, evaluation and
prevention of diseases and disorders; dietary and nutrition services; and rehabilitation and health
systems management. One of the many health professions in allied health is in physical therapy.
Physical therapists can diagnose and treat people of all ages who have medical or health related
conditions. These conditions most likely limit their mobility and their availability to perform
everyday activities. Some of these medical or health related conditions include: cardiopulmonary,
hand and feet issues, musculoskeletal, neurological, pediatrics, sports injuries, women s health, and
pelvic floor. A physical therapist is in charge of helping patients restore mobility, manage pain, and
sometimes they can even reduce the need for surgery or prescription drugs. This is done by
executing a treatment plan. The treatment plan may encompass exercise, soft tissue massage,
functional training, physical modalities and other types of therapies (Onks Wawryzniak, 2014). To
become a physical therapist, one has to undergo many vigorous steps and obtain a Doctor of
Physical Therapydegree. The work environment of a physical therapist typically includes private
offices and clinics, hospitals, and nursing homes. According to the American Physical Therapy
Association, a lot of physical therapists

Tennis Has Long Been A Favorite Sport Of Mine Due To The
Tennis has long been a favorite sport of mine due to the constant movement and the sense of
suspension that it creates. The observer never knows what the players are going to do next with
respect to where, how hard, or even how soft they will send or hit the ball. All of this movement is
not just by chance however, physics is at work throughout every moment the ball is on the court.
Starting with the basics we must look first at force. Force can be defined as the strength or energy
exerted or brought to bear which causes motion or a change in motion. There are multiple forces
acting on the ball throughout the course of a match. The main force being exerted comes from the
racket which gets its energy from the player. Other forces acting... Show more content on

Since hitting the ball is really how the game of tennis is played these laws of motion are very
important. Another concept that is important when looking at the physics of tennis is gravity.
As mentioned earlier, one of the main forces acting on the ball is the force the ground exerts on
the ball to make it bounce back up into the air. The force of gravity is what pulls the ball to the
ground so the ground can exert its force on the ball. Just like everything else on Earth, or any
planet or celestial body for that matter, gravity is acting on the ball at all times. Now, from the
previous discussion on force we know that force is in a direct relationship with acceleration. So,
because the exact force of gravity is at all times acting on the ball. The ball is constantly
accelerating. Now, due to the force of the players on the ball and the ground on the ball once it
hits the ground it is always accelerating in different directions; however, it will always tend to be
pulled down toward the ground due to gravity. One can calculate the exact force of gravity on the
ball by multiplying the mass of the ball times the acceleration due to gravity which is always of
the value of 9.8 m/s2. Another concept of physics that plays a role in tennis is that of momentum.
We have previously discussed that the racket exerts a force on the ball and the ball exerts a force

The protagonist whose name is Charlie is a freshman. He is by no means popular, but not the

The Compound Effect By Darren Hardy

Dr. Carl Wysocki
Book Summary
June 11, 2017
The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy This was a very good and intriguing book to read
throughout the past couple weeks. I thought that Darren Hardy made handling money and life very
simple and easy unlike other books. I Thought for my summary of the book that I would share
some of his great ideas he presented in the book with his wisdom.
Success and failure are the results of the choices that we make everyday. Part of the compound
effect is making the right decision over and over again for a long period of time in order to be
consistently successful. Its all about making the right decision which can be hard at times because
sometimes you don t know what the right decision ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
every decision, no matter how slight, alters the trajectory of your life (pg.23).
Another great thing I took from this book is to track the habits that you want to change. This is
something that I can apply to my whole life especially the financial part of it. I fid myself
spending my money way to fast and wondering how it disappeared so quickly. In the book it says
to make sure you record everything that you buy so you can make improvements on what you are
doing with your money. Tracking is a simple exercise. It works because it brings moment to
moment awareness to the actions you take in the area of your life you want to improve (pg. 38).
Another great part about this book is when he talks about riding the momentum of success. Its
important that when you find success that you go back to what got you there and work just as
hard as you did before and you will begin to ride this wave or rhythm of success. Achievers
People who get into a successful rhythm continue busting their butts and end up achieving more
and more (pg.94). I think that one of the most important parts of the book is when talks about
developing a routine. A routine is everything, its what you do everyday in order to be successful
and find success in life. Developing a routine develops great habits in every part of

basement up through the driveway. We prepare for our 3 mile voyage and go through winding
roads. The landscape of our region featured tree farms comprised of mostly eucalyptus trees,
miles long vineyards on varying hills expanding into the horizon, and the frequent parked tractor
where an old couple would be caring for their land. In order to get to the village my grandmother s
house was in, we needed to cross through a road that went down the middle of these vineyards.

First Person Narrative Catcher In The Rye
The Paradox of Subverting Identification through First Person Narration
Personal narrations typically allow the readers to immerse and identify themselves with the
protagonists however some writers have used the first person narration as a strategy to challenge
identification. J.D. Salinger s Catcher in the Rye and Sherman Alexie s True Diary of a Part Time
Indian both use this strategy to subvert identification. They are awarded and beloved books, but
are also hated since they are certain conservative lists of banned books due to the realistic content.
The reason behind this distancing narrating strategy is to allow a deeper and more analytical
reading. The protagonists Holden Caulfield and Arnold Junior are both trying to navigate this
strange ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first person narration is also often used for the reader to feel as if they are the protagonist. In
Power, Voice and Subjectivity in Literature for Young Readers, Maria Nikolajeva says that most
teachers might even ask the children and adolescents to identify with the character. Nikolajeva calls
this identification compulsion. This idea might be restrictive to the reader, since both narrator and
protagonist are the same person and limited by the same point of view. Conversely there are
many techniques that can be used to distance the reader and to deter this identification
compulsion. Some of the techniques used by Salinger and Alexie were othering the voice and
othering the reader. Some writers might use this distancing tactic as a way to ensure that readers
are not only passively identifying with their characters. Perry Nodelman in The Pleasure of
Children s Literature observes that one of the joys of reading first person narration is the reader s
ability to see it objectively, around or through the narrator. Therefore this paradox of first person
narration that subverts identification can be more enjoyable. Nikolajeva also points out that an
outsider s perspective might allow the development of a more mature and objective reading (190),
thus providing a deeper analysis of the

Positive Outcomes Of Reconstruction
At the end of the Civil War slavery was outlawed by the 13th Amendment to the Constitution and
the blacks was finally free. In the South there was a sense of anger and shame in losing the war. The
Reconstruction era was put into effect by Congress in 1866 and lasted until 1877. Reconstruction
was aimed at reorganizing the Southern states after the Civil War. The reconstruction plan granted
the means for readmitting the southern states into the Union, and tried to come up with the
methods by which whites and blacks could live together in a non slave society. However during
reconstruction the United States government took actions to protect freedman and with each action
the south countered with actions that would try to eradicate the laws put in place by the winning
northern forces for example, the infamous Jim Crow Laws. The law segregated the whites and the
blacks, thus can be commonly heard as separate is not equal. The Reconstruction was still seen as a
success towards the United States as a whole in many ways as it unified the nations.

Cotton Mathers was born in 1663, into a family that were New England Puritan ministers, as Rev.
John Cotton and Rev. Richard Mather. Cotton was determined to reach fame, as he looked up to
his father Rev. Increase Mather, who was a well appreciated political leader, and minister of the
South Church in Boston. Cotton made outstanding grades on his Greek and Latin entrance exams
at the age of twelve, and began college at Harvard. He received his M.A. at the age of eighteen,

Scholars also believed that Mathers dramatic description of the devil s activity on the Goodwin s
young children might have caused the first act of witchcraft among the young girls in the Salem
Village. Mather was not involved in the trials, but he wrote a letter to John Richards, one of the
magistrates in the trials, persuading caution in the use of spectral evidence. Mather also wrote
Return of the Several Ministers , a report sent to the judges of the Salem court. It was a carefully
worded document that persuaded caution in the use of spectral evidence , suggesting that the
devil could change his shape, or denounce the use of spectral evidence in the trials, though he
was warning the judges, they saw it as him saying it was okay to move forward and they
approved the trials to do so. Eyewitnesses have thoughts that Mather was more involved in the
trials. Mather, is preyed upon in history, because of the information in Robert Calef s book, More
Wonders of the Invisible world of his actions while at the hanging of George Burroughs, a former
Salem minister. Calef had said that Burroughs perfectly recited the Lord s Prayer, while on the

Thus, the high risk group shown in the Hostility Online study could be assessed as meeting some of
the guidelines of internet addiction, but not being excessive enough. (Yen, Ju Yu, et al). With the
multiple scales and inventories used by both studies to examine if clinical factors contributed to
internet addiction, the answer from the first study is that, statistical analyses that included potential
mediating variables (the BAI, BDI, and CASS) showed that clinical factors played mediating roles
only when aggression predicted IAD and not vice versa . (Yen, Ju Yu, et al). This means that
aggression when seen as a symptom of aggression is not bound by underlying clinical factors.
Regardless of clinical factors, the data concerning the casual relationship still stands. This is also
referenced in the first article when it mentions that, In terms of demographic data, it was confirmed
that adolescents in the Internet addiction group had higher scores on the BDI, BAI, and CASS
than did those in the other two groups [high risk user and standard user] (Lim, Jae A, et al).
Therefore, the argument of clinical factors does not contradict with Internet addiction causing the
aggressive behavior as examined by the BDI, BAI, and CASS

Lorelai Victoria Gilmore
Prenatal/Perinatal Development
It s a girl! Lorelai Victoria Gilmore was born on April 26, 1968 with no known birth defects to
Emily and Richard Gilmore. She got an APGAR rating of one for appearance, two for pulse, two
for grimace, a one for activity, and a two for respiration. Her mothers choose to breast feed her
because breast milk is almost always the best food (lecture slides). She used disposable diapers
because they are easier and Lorelai would just ruin the reusable ones anyway like she ruined her

has been acting differently lately; one day she refuses to go to school and Emily demands to

bullied at school by a peer so Emily speaks with the bully s parents and uses her connections to
the principle s wife to assure that Lorelai will be protected from the bully. She fails to address
Lorelais emotional needs though since bullying can lead to depression and suicidal thoughts.
She also prompts the bully to transition from blatant sexual comments and gestures to using
relational aggression to isolate Lorelai and try to make her peers ignore her (Ludden, 2015). This
attempt is not very successful because, aside from the bully and his immediate clique, Lorelai s

Learning The Importance Of Distributed Learning Environments
Learning the importance of distributed learning environments
Collaborative learning
We as societies are hindered in advancement by secluding ourselves alone. Learning in groups
working together adds an element of scaffolding and accountability to learning. The shared
construction of meaning is most visible and available for research at the small group unit of
analysis, where it appears as group cognition (Stahl et al., 2006). Social cohesion adds elements of
accountability and a sense of enjoyment, camaraderie, and social acceptance of all cultures. Adding
to the literature, Akyol Garrison, 2014, Community of Inquiry argues Social presence may well
have more influence in informal learning environments, K 12 settings, or in online learning where
students are new to this medium (Akyol, Garrison, p.18, 2014). Positive reinforcement striving to
acquire meaningful relationships build lifelong ethical citizens.
Social Interaction in learning.
Sharing and cooperation have passed the tests of time. As humans, we are constantly looking for
that human connection and membership within a group. A complex of simultaneously applied
instructional approaches, each reinforcing and/or complementing the other can enhance
collaborative learning and social interaction amongst group members (Kreijns et al. p.338, 2003).
Working together has never been so important, and effective teamwork never so stressed, bringing
people together who would otherwise be easily divided with technology.

This is a relatively new development and there are few sources that present clear and readable
accounts of it. It is a reaction to the belief of postmodernists that Marx concentrated excessively on
production, at the cost of consumption.
Introduction
This concept, despite its variety of meanings and definitions, is used to refer to many aspects of
social life from musical forms and styles, literature and fine art through to philosophy, history and
especially the mass media. Post modernism is a slippery term that is used by writers to refer to

We have become disillusioned and no longer expect the world to become a better place.
Metranarratives have partly been discredited because, in an era of global media in which we learn
more and more about other peoples beliefs and lifestyles, it becomes less and less possible to
regard one lifestyle or one belief system as the true one .
Dominic Strinati
Strinati suggests that, post modern TV and film become preoccupied merely with surface style
and imagery, rather than deeper underlying themes, which might relate to the realities of the
human condition. Action blockbuster movies dwell on special effects, rather than strong plots
and TV drama departs from realist plots of the 1960 s (which attempted to look at serious issues
such as homelessness, Cathy Come Home and embraces a surreal world in which reality is often
confused; For example, Twin Peaks, or more recently The X Files and American Gothic. Kaplan
(1987) identified pop and rock videos as perfect examples of post modernist culture because they
abandon all notion of narrative structure there is no attempt to tell a story , rather the power of the
rock video lies purely in the collage of images mixed with music.

When you look at the product that is being advertised by AgriGold, you have to consider a few
different things when determining where it lies exactly within its life cycle. When you consider
the product to be seed corn itself, the product has reached maturity and is beginning to enter the
declining stage. What is meant by this is the fact that seed corn solely as a product has been sold
for centuries and has reached its maximum penetration point within the market (given that people
continue with their traditional crop rotation strategies). Yet, I said that it is beginning to enter into
the declining stage. When I say that seed corn is beginning to enter the declining stage I am
referring to the fact that there is only a limited amount of land available to plant. As the
populations grow, there is less land that is used for agricultural purposes, which ultimately
correlates into declining demand for seed corn. While seed corn will always remain a very
important and high value product, there

Assess The Causes Of Child Poverty
Child poverty is not just something that poorer countries have to deal with, it is a world wide
issue involving even the richest countries, where the disparity between rich and poor can be
worse than in developing countries. This essay will examine some of the key causes of child
poverty as well as the impacts on society. The reality of childpovertyin the UK is that some families
living on a low income and have only about ВЈ13 per day per person. (Barnardo s online 2015).
With this in mind, many people may well have met, or know, families that are below the UK
poverty line.
Child poverty is defined as any group of people, or individuals, who are unable, through lack of
money, to adequately feed themselves. They may not be able to afford suitable clothing or provide
themselves with suitable heated accommodation. Child poverty can cause serious problems for
children. For those in poverty it means being cold, hungry and often not being able to join
activities with friends or activities that cost money, such as bowling, going to the cinema,
swimming or other interests and pursuits. In addition, 60% of families on the lower incomes

Theme Of Mise En Scene In The Godfather
The American films The Godfather I and II directed by Francis Ford Coppola, included mise en
scene to emphasize certain characteristics and themes during both films. In this essay I will
discuss how mise en scene was used to portray the lives of the Mafia families in the 1940s and 50s.
The mise en scene in The Godfather I, directed by Francis Ford Coppola, plays a huge role in how
the film is perceived by viewers. Mise En Scene is characterized as, The arrangement of everything
that appears in the framing actors, lighting, dГ©cor, props, and costume (elementsofcinema.com).
The Godfather utilizes mise en scene perfectly. Coppola combined all the right components of a
typical mafia film and made something extraordinary. From the clothing, to the homes, to the cars,
and lighting; The Godfather was executed wonderfully. Lighting plays a huge part in The
Godfather. The first scene opens with only one man talking, in low light. The relaxed lighting
makes the scene intense and leaving the audience with a sense of fear. With the light just appearing
on the man s face, the foundation is totally dark, highlighting the threatening tone of the scene. This
scene uses the same lighting elements as chiaroscuro paintings would have. If you were to pause
the scene at certain points you would be able to see the rembrandt light and the strong tonal
contrasts between light and dark. Different props are also used throughout the film. When you think
about the Mafia, you think Italian men

A Short History Of Confucianism And Confucianism

A Short History of Confucianism
Confucianism is a way of life propagated by the Chinese philosopher Confucius in the 6th 5th
century BCE, and it has been followed by the Chinese for more than 2000 years. Although
Confucianism as changed over time, at its core, it is still places the same emphasis on the substance
of learning, the source of values, and the social code of the Chinese. Additionally, the influence of
Confucianism has extended to other countries such as Korea, Japan, and Vietnam.
While Confucianism is sometimes viewed as a philosophy or religion, Confucianism is probably
best understood as a sort of all encompassing way of thinking and living, which includes such
practices as: ancestor reverence and human centered religiousness over that of the environment.
While people all over Asia can argue that they are Shintoists, Daoists, Buddhists, Muslims, or
Christians, but, by announcing their religious affiliations, very rarely do they stop practicing a
Confucian way of life in addition to their religious affiliation.
Although Confucianism is often grouped with the major historical religions, Confucianism differs
from them in that it is not an organized religion. Regardless of this fact, Confucianism has spread to
other East Asian countries under the influence of Chinese literate culture and has exerted a huge
influence on their spiritual, cultural, and political life. Both the theory and practice of

Keeping A Healthy Lifestyle On Food Intake
Introduction Our bodies need certain things in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Food is a
key ingredient to helping sustain our health throughout our life. When looking at our diet, we
need to look beyond total calories consumed. Instead, we need to break the foods down into the
different molecules that provide our body the proper nutrients to thrive and grow.
Macronutrients are required by our bodies to properly function, and are needed for growth and
energy. These macronutrients consist of proteins, lipids, and carbohydrates which we obtain
from the foods we eat. Tracking food intake is one way to analyze how food consumption meets,
exceeds or falls short of recommended values. Through behavior modification and small,
specific goals, positive dietary changes can help maintain long term health. Proteins are the
building blocks of our bodies. From DNA to muscles, protein is a major part of our bodies.
Protein is found in meats, poultry, dairy, nuts, and fish. Each gram of protein we eat consists of
4 calories. Proteins are made up of amino acids, known as the building blocks of proteins. There
are 20 amino acids, 9 of which are essential, since they are only obtained from the food in our
diet. The other 11 amino acids are considered non essential because our bodies have the ability to
create these amino acids. Lipids, or fats, are important to our bodies. Lipids in our diet come from
foods such as meats, nuts, dairy and oils. Each gram

Attending School As An Educated Fellow Of Society
There are numerous different methods to receive an education, and become an educated fellow of
society. Attending school may guide an individual in becoming a portion of an educated society.
Moreover, individuals seeking a further education may consider attending school. In order to remain
in school the students must consider receiving respectable grades. An individual s grades reflect the
determination the studentcommitted to every course. Furthermore, there are three simple
suggestions a college or universitystudent needs to recognize to obtain an A or a respectable grade.
Students either may decide to dedicate the time and determination, or decided to be unsuccessful.
Most college or university students attend school to become successful. Students struggling to
remain in school or receive respectable grades are the ones who may consider embracing these
suggestions and acknowledge them. Nevertheless, these suggestions may influence grades the
students receives now, or what grades the students may obtain in future courses. Students who
decided to take this direction in their schooling may benefit in their future, or grantee students
acceptable grades. Time is not slowing down for any student, so acquiring a respectable grade the
first time taking a course is critical. Therefore, to succeed in school it is required for an individual
to attend class and remain focused on the material, but also remember to study substantially.

The Importance Of Endovascular Devices
Navigation of blood vessels is an essential part in reaching a lesion or a vessel segment for
treatment. Such task is achieved using an endovascular device. The circulatory system being
tortuous, improvements to endovascular devices are being investigated. Here the process involved
in improving this medical field was by combining two technologies together: endovascular devices
and ionic electroactive polymers(i EAP).
Medical procedures such as angioplasty, coronary and peripheral, atherectomy, interventional
nephrology, interventional radiology, thoracic endovascular aortic repair, full biliary catheter

Endovascular devices are usually constrained to specific characteristics. The five major
characteristics are size, length, stiffness, coating and tip configuration. Endovascular devices are
made up of a stainless steel coil which surrounds a tapered inner core, where the tip of the wire
can be straight, angled, or J shaped and some include a shaping ribbon allowing the physicians to
adjust the tip angle to their liking. Their diameter varies from 0.010 to 0.038 (0.254 mm to 0.9652
mm), many have a diameter of 0.014 as it allows for an easier access to more places [1].
Endovascular devices can have polymer covers, coils, coatings all of which will have a different
effect on different properties. Coils provide tactile feedback, radiopacity and maintain constant
overall diameters and polymer covers/sleeves provide optimal lubricity to overcome resistance and
access to the lesion.
An Electroactive Polymer (EAP) is a polymer that undergoes a change in size or shape when
subject to an electric field. These are most commonly used in actuators and sensors. Ionic EAPs (i

Displacement Reactions And The Single Displacement Reaction
Introduction
There are two types of displacement reactions : One type is called the single displacement reaction,
the other is called the double displacement reaction. During a single displacement reaction, an
element substitutes another element in a compound, creating a new element and a new compound
as products. In most single displacement reactions, either a metal replaces another metal, or a non
metal replaces another non metal. The more reactive element takes the place of the less reactive
element in the compound, otherwise the reaction will not occur. The general chemical equations of
single displacement can be: A (metal) + BC в†’ AC + B,
A (non metal) + BC в†’ BA + C. Double displacement reaction is a chemical reaction
, where the
positive ions of two different chemical compounds exchange and produce two new compounds.
The products may contain a precipitate. The general chemical equation of double displacement is:
AB+ CD в†’ AD + CB
The purpose of the lab is to observe the reactants and the products of three chemical reactions and
determine which type of reaction occurs in each chemical reaction.
The solubility tables can be used to help better determine the reaction types. The solubility tables
refer to the solubility of ionic compounds in water. By using the solubility tables, we can know
whether a compound is soluble or insoluble.

THE PUNIC WARS
During the 3rd and 2nd centuries B.C., three wars were fought between Rome and Carthage. The
name given to describe the wars Punic, is a divided word from the Latin and Greek words for
Phoenician. The city of Carthage, situated in what is now Tunisia in North Africa, was founded in
814 B.C. by the Phoenicians. The first two wars were the longest 23 years and 17 years, separated
by an interval of 23 years. The last and third war lasted only three years. It started 52 years after
the end of the second Punic War. All three wars were won by Rome, which automatically emerged
as the greatest military power in the Mediterranean Sea. The hostility of Carthage impelled
Rome to build up its large army and create a strong navy just like the one Carthage had. Strong

outstanding leaders were Scipio Africanus. Belief holds that Phoenician settlers from the
Mediterranean port of Tyre discovered the city state of Carthage on the northern coast of Africa.
By 265 B.C., Carthage was the richest and the most advanced city in the region, as well as its
prominent naval power. Through Carthage had clashed forcefully with several other powers in the
region, notably Greece, its relations with Rome were historically friendly, and its cities had signed

Hamlet Foils In Hamlet
The foils of Hamlet
In Hamlet, the main character tries to get revenge on his father s death by plotting the murder of
Claudius, but it is his indecisiveness that leads to many problems. He is supported or opposed by
characters who are considered foils to him. A foil is when a main character is compared to another
character to better reveal the characteristics of the main character, as well as his intentions and
motivations. There are many characters who can be considered foils to Hamlet. However, the
characters that truly stand as foils to the protagonist are Laertes, Fortinbras, and Claudius.
Hamlet and his foils are all put in a similar situation, but it is how they react and deal with their
issues that makes them distinct from Hamlet. To begin with, Laertes is the most similar foil to
Hamlet when it comes to circumstance and rage. They both want revenge for their father s
death, though their method of revenge are different. Laertes is a man of action and wants to get
revenge right away after learning that his father Polonius has been killed. In contrast to Laertes,
Hamlet does not even make public knowledge of his father s murder. Laertes doesn t
procrastinate his attempt at revenge like Hamlet. However, he is very shallow and Hamlet is a
genius in comparison. Hamlet thinks of ways to plan his revenge against Claudius, though it is
his tendency to overthink that leads him to his tragic flaw. He himself realizes that Laertes is
put in a similar position to himself. I ll be your foil, Laertes: in mine ignorance your skill shall,
like a star i the darkest night, Stick fiery off indeed (V.ii.5 7). Rage is another emotion the
characters have in common. When Laertes learns of his father s death, he gets enraged and
wants to get revenge instantly. To hell, allegiance! Vows, to the blackest devil! Conscience and
grace, to the profoundest pit! I dare damnation: to this point I stand, that both worlds I give to
negligence, let come what comes; only I ll be revenged most thoroughly for my father. (Act 4

According to the Merriam Webster dictionary, the definition of culture is the customary beliefs,
social forms, and material traits of a racial, religious, or social group . Every country has its
specific culture and there are some obvious cultural universals between China and America. One
example of such cultural universal is the directness of American versus the humbleness of the
Chinese people. Another example would be the self independence of the young Americans versus
the young Chinese who tend to depend on their parents. What I would like to cover are the
holidays observed by United States and China, roles played in the familyby husband and wife,
parenting styles and conflict management.

The father usually holds the dominant role and decision maker. According to quintessential website,
it mentioned that the institution of family is the pinnacle of society. It also mentioned that the
traditional Chinese family has a hierarchical order with the man as the head of the family. The
father of the house is also responsible for housing and educating his children up until the time of
their marriage.
The American families advocate equality. The husband and the wife usually have an equality voice
in decision making, and on certain matters, family members are regarded as friend and they should
treated equality in daily life.
Parenting Style
Yale law professor Amy Chua wrote a book named Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother and it talks
about parenting styles between the Chinese verses the Western styles. She said that parents who
set high standards tend to have kids who are more successful at school. It s also clear that
Chinese parents tend to spend more time pushing their kids to study, practice, and achieve. Her
book created a huge controversial piece for the Wall Street Journal on Why Chinese mothers are
Superior . This article is about the response of Amy Chua to all the book readers that she believed
took her parenting methods too serious. It explains how many

Search for an Alternative Fuel Source for Automobiles
Search for an Alternative Fuel Source for Automobiles Since it s invention and birth in 1886
automobiles have influenced the world in a huge way. It saved people a lot of energy, time and
money. Motorized wagons replaced horse carriages and within a few decades Ford started making
affordable models of cars with higher efficiency, which revolutionized the concept of transportation.
The first ever car that was built was powered by steam. But with development in science and
technology other efficient fuel sources were invented. The present day cars run on petrol (gasoline),
diesel, and electricity and even sound. With the increased depletion of coal and coal derived
products, the continued use of automobiles is becoming uncertain. Energy... Show more content on

However the anti knocking properties of diesel is measured by its cetane number. The cetane
number is the measurement of the anti knocking and the combustion quality of diesel. It is the
equivalent of octane number for gasoline. The average value of cetane number for a diesel fuel
ranges from 42 to 45 but for premium diesel cetane number can be up to 60. Another important
property of fuels is the calorific value. The calorific value is the amount of heat or energy
produced when the fuel is combusted. Therefore the calorific value determines the output power
produced by the fuel. It is either measured as either gross calorific value or net calorific value.
The most commonly method of comparing calorific values of fuels is net calorific value. The
net calorific value of gasoline is 44400 KJ/Kg. This means that 44400 kilojoules of energy is
produced for every kilogram of fuel burnt. In comparison, the calorific value of diesel is 43400
(Bureau of Energy efficiency, p.4). The calorific value of diesel is lower than the calorific value
of gasoline and hence gasoline has a higher output power than diesel. The output power is one of
the most important factors on which efficiency is dependent. Hence it can be said that the
efficiency if petrol is higher than that of diesel. Since early 20th century the popularity of electric
vehicles have been raising. Electric cars were prevalent in early 20th century when

Industrial Revolution Rifle Research Paper
Have you ever wondered how the rifle came to be or how it has evolved into a very dangerous
weapon? The rifle has changed warfare to this day. The advancement of reloading, accuracy, etc.
have made warfare so much more deadly. Because of the advancements of reload time and accuracy
during the Industrial Revolution the riflebecame more powerful and advanced. The way we reload
rifle has become easier and faster. The musketwould only shoot one at a time, now modern
advances allow it to be easier to shoot more than one at a time. When they added a magazine to the
rifle around the late 1800 s, it made shooting a rifle much faster than the standard musket. The
accuracy of the rifles has improved in many ways. The accuracy improved when

Mediator Effect Of Base 10 Concept Score
Mediator Effect of Base 10 concept Score To answer the second question, I want to testify the
mediator effect of base 10 concept understanding to the estimation accuracy and R2. As
described before, firstly I conducted the linear regression to analyze the percentage of absolute
errors at the posttest could be explained by the base 10 concept score and R2 at the posttest. I
firstly enter the base 10 concept score and then R2 at the posttest. Correlation effect between the
PAE and R2 was found with r2= 45. The results indicated that the percentage of absolute errors at
the posttest add the significant variance of 20% at the posttest, which could be explained by the
linearity of number line R2 and base 10 concept. This suggests that... Show more content on

The base 10 concept score was correlated to the R2, r= .44, p .01, partial effect ОІ = .35. Every
increased unit of the base 10 concept score is expected to increase .20 unit of R2. In the present
study, the base 10 concept score decreased the correlation between PAE and linearity R2, r2=
.31*.44= .14, which is lower than the direct effect between PAE and estimation accuracy. The
results means that the base 10 concept score decreased the residues of estimation errors were
positively correlated to the linearity of mental number line. Give the fix effect of the base 10
concept score, increase estimation accuracy could be expected to effectively boost the linearity of
mental number line. The variance of estimation accuracy could be explained by R2 given children s
encoding of 10ness on the linear number lines. However, when entering the mediator of the base 10
concept score, use the Manipulatives encoding base 10 concept could decrease the correlation
between the estimation accuracy and linearity of R2. That is to say, for the children with low
estimation accuracy, enhancing base 10 concept instructions would not necessarily increase the
positive correlation between the estimation and linearity R2 of mental number line. For the children
who are even with low estimation accuracy, using the number line game with 10ness landmarks,
might not effectively boost their number magnitudes understanding. Therefore, I conclude that the

“The hunting community ensures that wildlife populations...
The hunting community ensures that wildlife populations of game species are sustainable from
one generation to the next (Gibbons 1). Land can only feed and house so many animals before all
life naturally dies off and kills the surrounding area. Once animals are over populated something
must be done to restore balance to the ecosystem. Natural selection in the environment is not
enough for many animals to keep populations at a manageable rate. This is where hunters come in,
hunters help to lower populations in environments to allow other animals and life to thrive in a
humane way that costs less than any other method of control. It is common now for ecosystems to

Each environment can only handle so many animals before the environment crumbles and the over
populated animals starve to death and overlap into other animals food and kill off many other
animals. Wildlife levels have been on the rise and are now at a point of overflowing their carrying
capacities (Emmons 3). So the need for controlling animal populations is growing. Thanks to the
increase of population of humans, we are taking more and more land which is making many
environments become much smaller or disappear. With the shrinking environments it becomes
easier to reach the carrying capacity because the carrying capacity shrinks due to the limited
environment they can access. Hunting is now a necessary mechanism for the population control of
many wildlife populations (Emmons 3). It is safer and easier for people to open hunting in many
places then it is for the government to trap and move animals to different locations where they
would survive better. Hunting promotes a better ecological balance so that forests and other
landscapes can thrive as a whole along with all of the animals that rely on the same land as those
that are over populated. Hunters not only help the environment by controlling populations, they
work with conservation and ecological groups to build and conserve wildlife and land. Hunters and
environmentalists share a common love, that of beautiful forests and landscapes and watching
animals even though their intentions are

The Fruit And The Compute
The desert table is full with different fruit such as apples, raspberries, cherries, peaches, pears, and
the branches full with grapes hanging in the side. The artist uses the fruit colors as symbols to
express the type of life people used to live in that time such as love and happiness.
His work as the fruit and the Compute was one of the most recognized arts in the mid nineteenth
century. People buy this kind of art to decorate their houses and restaurants. When I saw the picture
in the first time, it looks very inquisitive to me. I start to think what s the meaning behind it? The
picture delivers a metaphor which it conveys a satisfying sense of wealth and abundance.

The Love Triangle In Emily Bronte s Wuthering Heights
Everyone likes a good love story, myself included. It is no surprise, that a multitude of authors write
love stories. Books with other plots, often, have love stories hidden in them. Love stories are often
dramatic, romantic, and intriguing. These characteristics are displayed in Wuthering Heights by
way of a love triangle. To better understand the love triangle portrayed in Emily BrontГ« s
Wuthering Heights, one should analyze BrontГ« s life and early works, the childhood of Catherine,
Heathcliff, and Hindley, and the personalities Catherine and Heathcliff.
In essence, Emily BrontГ« was born at her father s parsonage in Thornton, near, Bradford, in
Yorkshire, on July 30,1818, the fifth of six children born to Patrick BrontГ« and Maria Branwell
in seven years (Benvenuto 2). Emily BrontГ«, like her sister, inherited Celtic blood, together
with a stern and stoical tradition of daily life (Winnifrith 119). She was a wayward, imaginative
girl, physically delicate, brought up in loneliness and poverty, amid a harsh yet noble landscape
of hill, moor and stream (Winnifrith 119). ... The BrontГ« household was mainly kept in touch
with the current literature, the criticism, poetry, and fiction of their day (Winnifrith 119).
Furthermore, All of the BrontГ«s learned to write in the same minute hand, by which they
could cover a small page with hundreds of words and keep their writing secret later a
consideration of greater importance to Emily (Benvenuto 6). The BrontГ« children wrote
together and had their own roles in the works of literature they composed. Emily and her sister,
Anne decided to write their own story with a fantasy world after their Brother Branwell allowed
them to give him ideas for his own story but did not include them in writing it (Benvenuto 6).
The sisters story was ...a saga centered on an imaginary island in the north Pacific, called Gondal
(Benvenuto 6). Gondal appears in the earliest piece of writing from Bronte that we have, a diary
entry dated November 24, 1834, when she was sixteen years old (Benvenuto 6). Accordingly, We
have seen that Emily BrontГ« spent the greater part of her adult life absorbed in her story about
Gondal and its people (Benvenuto 25). The notebook which she called

Overcoming Obstacles of Social Conventions in the Medieval...
Eliduc is a typical medieval story of courtly love. The Lai contains the common characteristics of
other Marie de France s Lais; as a worthy and valiant knight is confused about his love life. The
knight is caught between the duty he owes his wife and the new love he feels for a foreign
princess. Oddly enough, the two female characters, his wife and his secret lover have similar
names; Guildeleuc and Guilliadun. This is significant because these two women meet and rather
than becoming enemies as would be expected, they work as a team and live together. Over time
the title of the Lai has changed to Guildeleuc and Guilliadun because it is based on the two women.
Common to other medieval stories, Eliduc is moving and purifying, as it... Show more content on

Gender is only viewed as a small part in the social system which actually determines the role that
men and women have in society. It is Rubin s belief that the social and political systems are the
first cause of gender discrimination and the oppression of women in a society. It is these
conventions and customs that are ingrained in the minds of children from a very early age. Girls
are taught to perceive themselves as less gifted by nature because of their anatomical
characteristics. These conventions could make Guilliadun feel as that though she needs to
accept her husband s adulterous choices because that is how women should be treated by their
husbands, or so they have been told. In the beginning Eliduc is viewed as the perfect knight as
he is dutiful and faithful both to his lord and to his wife, and he is also valiant and courtly.
Eliduc is a man like no other in the land. Because Eliduc was so loyal to his king he was granted
special privileges he could hunt in the forests, there was no forester bold enough to dare try and
stop him. (Line 37 39) This is a great privilege offered to Eliduc because the king only grants
certain people to hunt in the forests, and it is usually men that are hunting for the king himself.
Therefore, because the king allows Eliduc to hunt in the forest on his own shows how much the
king cherished Eliduc s work. However, because of slander from jealous men

The Yellow Kid, By G. W. Cox
he very first modern comic book made, was known as the Yellow Kid, and its arrival in 1897,
generated the Platinum age of comics. It was published by G. W. Dillingham Company, and was
part of a series that Dilingham did on American authors. This became the staple for future comic
books to come, and even coined the name Comic Book on the back of the cover. But even before
the Yellow Kid , comic books had existed in what has been coined the Victorian age , which
started in 1837 with the comic The Adventures of Obadiah Oldbuck . It was published in several
different European languages and even arrived in the United States in 1842. While several other
comics existed in the Victorian age; such as The Brownies: Their Book , Harper s, Puck, Judge,
Life , and Truth and were extremely popular in Sunday morning newspapers, there is very little
knowledge of the comic books from this era in history, and is still being discovered, researched
and recorded. In 1933, the Dell Publishing company started a new line of comics, the Famous
Funnies comic book, which began with the release of Funnies on Parade . The Famous Funnies
have become widely accepted as America s first true comic book. ( History of Comics Platinum
Age. Wayback Machine). But it wasn t until 1938, that comic books would dramatically shift to
how people would view and read them in today s world. In the fall of 1934, Major Malcolm

EVALUATION AND CONCLUSION BRIEF INTRODUCTION In the history of the world, many
remarkable periods have been referred to most often due to perhaps great events that have led to a
turn around in the thoughts and general lives of the people. One of such periods is the renaissance

We could then say that what prepared the ground for the renaissance humanism was mainly
from the church and the fruits of the renaissance period which led to the reformation fell back to
the church also. Therefore, we could say that the renaissance humanism started when the literary
world and the world of arts was so charged. At the same time the church was leading but her great
strides were infiltrated or became mixed with pagan/ Greek values that were seemingly
unacceptable. Thus, the European world saw the reason to question the church s consistency in
the religious matters and the absolute attribute of things to God or religion. THE CHAMPIONS
OF RENAISSANCE HUMANISM The earliest humanists were Dante Della Mirandola,
Lorenzo Valla and Coluccio Salutati. But after the fall of Constantinople in 1453, many scholars
went to Italy to research and go acquainted with many books together with the knowledge of the
Greek traditional arts. In the northern Europe we fin people like Desiderius Erasmus who came
up with the praise of the folly (1509). This depicts the moral essence of humanism. He preferred
heartfelt goodness to formalistic piety. We could also recall that the founder of the renaissance
painting was Masaccio (1401 14280). Boccaccio (1313 1375 wrote the first sexual literature since
the Late Latin writers. Nicholas Machiavelli (1469 1527) really mocked honesty and integrity in
politics in his writings as it is farfetched. However,

  • 2. Comparing Home Burial And Commander Lowell Have you ever stopped and thought where you would be in life with no family? Throughout both the poems they base everything around the family and what s best for it. The first poem I read was Home Burial by Robert Frost, which is about a husband and a wife talking about the death of their child and while the wife is at the top of the staircase looking out the window and her child s grave. The second poem was Commander Lowell by Robert Lowell, here the author talks about his father s life growing up, such as him leaving the Navy for a better paying job. In this essay I will show you three different poetical elements I found in both poems such as theme, rhyme, and enjambments. In this essay I hope to show how both authors are similar but different at the same time.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Throughout both poems both authors did a very good job of basing both of them about family. In Home Burial Frost shows this when the husband first tries to talk about their child s death and the wife gets very upset because she does not want to bring up the death (). By the wife getting so upset about the topic of her dead child, you can see their family is very family based because otherwise they would not be getting into a tense conversation. In Commander Lowell, Lowell shows the theme as family by telling his dad s story about when he leaves the Navy. With seamanlike celerity / Father left the Navy, / and deeded Mother his property (Stanza 3). This quote shows the father wanted to leave the Navy so he could get a better job and wanted his child and wife to have a better ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Aeneas Virtue Virtue is a key theme in the literature of the Greeks and Romans. Aeneas, an incredibly virtuous man, is still limited by his humanity. Though he is strongly compelled by his sense of duty, his even stronger emotions often distract him. Contrastly, Socrates is portrayed by Plato to be at a level just above human. He is capable of seeing past emotion and impulses of the flesh in a manner few others, if any at all, are able to do. Socratestranscendence beyond earthly desires and focus on the betterment of the soulallows him to be the foremost instructor in virtuedespite unfavorable circumstances; Aeneas, on the other hand, is a virtuous leader who is hindered by his furor, or uncontrolled emotion, and relies on heavenly guidance to keep him in check. Many virtuous deeds were done by the hands of Aeneas. He is a good man and an exceptional leader. This is exemplified by the way he and his father take the Greek Achaemenides into their party after the man was left by his own companions to die on the island of Polyphemus the Cyclops (Aen. 3.706 712). The Trojans had only recently escaped the destruction of their beloved Ilium, which fell because they trusted another Greek, Sinon, who also claimed to be abandoned by his countrymen (Aen. 2.74 76). Aeneas, refusing to draw parallels between Achaemenides and the traitorous Sinon, shows compassion to the Greek warrior whom he knows nothing about. Later, Aeneas again shows his capabilities as a leader during his father s funeral ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Advantages Of Helical Spring CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION GENERAL INTRODUCTION 1.1 Helical Spring Helical spring is defined as an elastic body, whose function is to distort when loaded and to recover its original shape when the load is removed. The helical springs are made up of a wire coiled in the form of a helix and are primarily intended for compressive or tensile loads. The cross section of the wire from which the spring is made may be circular, square or rectangular. Helical compression springs have applications to resist applied compression forces or in the push mode, store energy to provide the push . Different forms of compression springs are produced. • 5. Humorous Wedding Speech by a Friend of the Groom Essays Humorous Wedding Speech by a Friend of the Groom Good afternoon, Ladies and Gentlemen. I would first like to thank you all for coming today and helping to make Marcus and Adrian s wedding such a memorable and special occasion. Personally, I wish you d all stayed at home and made my job less nerve wracking. When I was asked to be in the wedding party I decided that I needed to know what the role entailed. I have now read several books, and all of them include a last minute checklist to guarantee a smooth wedding. So, to give you a feel for the pressure I ve been under, here are some of the things I ve had to remember from my checklist: 1) See that all ex girlfriends are kept at bay. Now then, Marcus discovered girls a lot ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is a bit of an odd one, which I decided to skip. I m just amazed he s chosen an appropriate outfit to wear, because he s not renowned for his fashion sense. I was equally amazed a few years ago, when I discovered that Marcus is not, in fact, color blind. To quote his boss, Marcus wears extremely colorful clothing for a man still living as a heterosexual. 4) Bring an emergency kit full of the following items: aspirin, deodorant, valium, tooth brush and a thick black marker pen. Well, as it turns out, Marcus brought all those things himself plus a couple of other things that weren t on the list: a hunting knife and a cycling magazine. Not sure why he bought the knife, but the magazine doesn t surprise me because as a kid, Marcus was well into his bikes. He was always getting the latest model of whatever was the latest craze. This was great for me because he would generally have a spare bike for me to ride. In fact, I spent an entire summer riding around with great pleasure on Marcus s Chopper. 5) Make a speech to the bride and groom. Well, I thought that this meant just the bride and groom, so you can understand why I was a little flustered when I was told it was to 95 others as well. 6) Dance with the bride, after the groom, her father, and her father in law. • 7. New Technology Research Paper Throughout the 20th century, the advancements of technology have increased, as well as the population in each state prison. The real question is has technology advanced enough throughout the years to help capture criminals more than the years past? Having new technology will increase the number of criminals to be caught, even on cold case files. As the years surpassed, cases became cold but only the technology has not. New systems were implemented in DNA testing, allowing it to be easier to trace down one criminal. Tracing back to earlier years you ll notice that s where most technology rose from. In the 1800s the first use of toxicology (arsenic detection) was used in a jury. A few years after the first recorded use, fingerprints helped linked suspected to crimes . The developments became easier to detect which leads to the development of the first crystal test for hemoglobin hemin crystals. Shortly after, the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The 21st century was where many advancements were fixed and also created. The Department of Forensic Science will still develop and mature. Currently, The USA position about Iran nuclear deal has been one of the most controversial topics in the political and international affairs fields. People are taking sides about what should be the best decision for the USA government. Should the USA tear up the deal or stay in it? During these past days, the news is so focused on the subject Iran, here are some headlines: Scuttling the Iran deal will lead to another North Korea, how the Iran deal prevents a covert nuclear weapons program, the sun sets on a good Iran deal. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As president Trump s reluctance to certify if Iran is following all the requirements, it illustrates that the deal remains under threat. First all, the USA administration, president Donald Trump and some his political adviser, are willing to end up the USA involvement in the JCPOA and the US president claimed that it was the worse decision. For me, it was one of the most successful deals in the last years because it is preventing Iran from building nuclear weapons and provide improved transparency. Which means that under a nuclear agreement, Iran has the obligation to permit the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to conduct a deep inspection on Iran s nuclear facilities if IAEA requests to do so. However, If Iran violates the agreement, it will severely punish and all sanctions will come back and Iran aliens will not be able to reverse the situation or block the sanction applied to Iran such as economic, political and others that can break the Iran economy. The US government can do nothing to stop Iran to improve its nuclear weapons. If Iran decided not to make new nuclear weapons, it was because they decided not to do it. Some disagree that, the Obama administration is prepared to sign an agreement that will expire in a mere 10 years time. At this point, any restriction that the deal imposes on Iran would be vanish. According to The Association of Schools of Allied Health Professions (2016), allied health is the segment of the health care field that delivers services involving the identification, evaluation and prevention of diseases and disorders; dietary and nutrition services; and rehabilitation and health systems management. One of the many health professions in allied health is in physical therapy. Physical therapists can diagnose and treat people of all ages who have medical or health related conditions. These conditions most likely limit their mobility and their availability to perform everyday activities. Some of these medical or health related conditions include: cardiopulmonary, hand and feet issues, musculoskeletal, neurological, pediatrics, sports injuries, women s health, and pelvic floor. A physical therapist is in charge of helping patients restore mobility, manage pain, and sometimes they can even reduce the need for surgery or prescription drugs. This is done by executing a treatment plan. The treatment plan may encompass exercise, soft tissue massage, functional training, physical modalities and other types of therapies (Onks Wawryzniak, 2014). To become a physical therapist, one has to undergo many vigorous steps and obtain a Doctor of Physical Therapydegree. The work environment of a physical therapist typically includes private offices and clinics, hospitals, and nursing homes. • 11. Tennis Has Long Been A Favorite Sport Of Mine Due To The Tennis has long been a favorite sport of mine due to the constant movement and the sense of suspension that it creates. The observer never knows what the players are going to do next with respect to where, how hard, or even how soft they will send or hit the ball. All of this movement is not just by chance however, physics is at work throughout every moment the ball is on the court. Starting with the basics we must look first at force. Force can be defined as the strength or energy exerted or brought to bear which causes motion or a change in motion. There are multiple forces acting on the ball throughout the course of a match. The main force being exerted comes from the racket which gets its energy from the player. Other forces acting... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since hitting the ball is really how the game of tennis is played these laws of motion are very important. Another concept that is important when looking at the physics of tennis is gravity. As mentioned earlier, one of the main forces acting on the ball is the force the ground exerts on the ball to make it bounce back up into the air. The force of gravity is what pulls the ball to the ground so the ground can exert its force on the ball. Just like everything else on Earth, or any planet or celestial body for that matter, gravity is acting on the ball at all times. Now, from the previous discussion on force we know that force is in a direct relationship with acceleration. So, because the exact force of gravity is at all times acting on the ball. The ball is constantly accelerating. Now, due to the force of the players on the ball and the ground on the ball once it hits the ground it is always accelerating in different directions; however, it will always tend to be pulled down toward the ground due to gravity. One can calculate the exact force of gravity on the ball by multiplying the mass of the ball times the acceleration due to gravity which is always of the value of 9.8 m/s2. Another concept of physics that plays a role in tennis is that of momentum. We have previously discussed that the racket exerts a force on the ball and the ball exerts a force on the ... The Compound Effect By Darren Hardy Griffey Halle Bus 210 Dr. Carl Wysocki Book Summary June 11, 2017 The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy This was a very good and intriguing book to read throughout the past couple weeks. I thought that Darren Hardy made handling money and life very simple and easy unlike other books. I Thought for my summary of the book that I would share some of his great ideas he presented in the book with his wisdom. Success and failure are the results of the choices that we make everyday. Part of the compound effect is making the right decision over and over again for a long period of time in order to be consistently successful. I fid myself spending my money way to fast and wondering how it disappeared so quickly. In the book it says to make sure you record everything that you buy so you can make improvements on what you are doing with your money. Tracking is a simple exercise. It works because it brings moment to moment awareness to the actions you take in the area of your life you want to improve (pg. 38). Another great part about this book is when he talks about riding the momentum of success. Its important that when you find success that you go back to what got you there and work just as hard as you did before and you will begin to ride this wave or rhythm of success. Achievers People who get into a successful rhythm continue busting their butts and end up achieving more and more (pg.94). We go up the steep slope from the basement up through the driveway. We prepare for our 3 mile voyage and go through winding roads. The landscape of our region featured tree farms comprised of mostly eucalyptus trees, miles long vineyards on varying hills expanding into the horizon, and the frequent parked tractor where an old couple would be caring for their land. First Person Narrative Catcher In The Rye The Paradox of Subverting Identification through First Person Narration Personal narrations typically allow the readers to immerse and identify themselves with the protagonists however some writers have used the first person narration as a strategy to challenge identification. J.D. Salinger s Catcher in the Rye and Sherman Alexie s True Diary of a Part Time Indian both use this strategy to subvert identification. They are awarded and beloved books, but are also hated since they are certain conservative lists of banned books due to the realistic content. In Power, Voice and Subjectivity in Literature for Young Readers, Maria Nikolajeva says that most teachers might even ask the children and adolescents to identify with the character. Nikolajeva calls this identification compulsion. This idea might be restrictive to the reader, since both narrator and protagonist are the same person and limited by the same point of view. Conversely there are many techniques that can be used to distance the reader and to deter this identification compulsion. Some of the techniques used by Salinger and Alexie were othering the voice and othering the reader. Some writers might use this distancing tactic as a way to ensure that readers are not only passively identifying with their characters. Perry Nodelman in The Pleasure of Children s Literature observes that one of the joys of reading first person narration is the reader s ability to see it objectively, around or through the narrator. Therefore this paradox of first person narration that subverts identification can be more enjoyable. Theatricalism, for the purpose of answering the question, is the following of a 20th century theatre movement, that rather than being focused on the natural world, and staying true to that realism, focused on the story and lesson to be said and taught without regard to whether or not the work was realistic. Example 1, The Angel: The angel is probably the most obvious example of theatricalism, because, though angels, may or may not exist, it is unheard of to be visited by one. Such task is achieved using an endovascular device. The circulatory system being tortuous, improvements to endovascular devices are being investigated. Here the process involved in improving this medical field was by combining two technologies together: endovascular devices and ionic electroactive polymers(i EAP). Medical procedures such as angioplasty, coronary and peripheral, atherectomy, interventional nephrology, interventional radiology, thoracic endovascular aortic repair, full biliary catheter procedure require a skilled physician to operate an endovascular device. The five major characteristics are size, length, stiffness, coating and tip configuration. Endovascular devices are made up of a stainless steel coil which surrounds a tapered inner core, where the tip of the wire can be straight, angled, or J shaped and some include a shaping ribbon allowing the physicians to adjust the tip angle to their liking. Their diameter varies from 0.010 to 0.038 (0.254 mm to 0.9652 mm), many have a diameter of 0.014 as it allows for an easier access to more places [1]. Endovascular devices can have polymer covers, coils, coatings all of which will have a different effect on different properties. Coils provide tactile feedback, radiopacity and maintain constant overall diameters and polymer covers/sleeves provide optimal lubricity to overcome resistance and access to the lesion. An Electroactive Polymer (EAP) is a polymer that undergoes a change in size or shape when subject to an electric field. These are most commonly used in actuators and sensors. Ionic EAPs (i EAP) require much lower voltages for actuation to occur, 1 5V compared to 10V/Вµm, and they have low electromechanical coupling. This makes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. Displacement Reactions And The Single Displacement Reaction Introduction There are two types of displacement reactions : One type is called the single displacement reaction, the other is called the double displacement reaction. During a single displacement reaction, an element substitutes another element in a compound, creating a new element and a new compound as products. In most single displacement reactions, either a metal replaces another metal, or a non metal replaces another non metal. The more reactive element takes the place of the less reactive element in the compound, otherwise the reaction will not occur. The general chemical equations of single displacement can be: A (metal) + BC в†’ AC + B, A (non metal) + BC в†’ BA + C. Double displacement reaction is a chemical reaction , where the positive ions of two different chemical compounds exchange and produce two new compounds. The products may contain a precipitate. The general chemical equation of double displacement is: AB+ CD в†’ AD + CB The purpose of the lab is to observe the reactants and the products of three chemical reactions and determine which type of reaction occurs in each chemical reaction. The solubility tables can be used to help better determine the reaction types. The solubility tables refer to the solubility of ionic compounds in water. By using the solubility tables, we can know whether a compound is soluble or insoluble. • 38. The Battle Of The Punic Wars Joel Medero History Western Civilization Professor Smail THE PUNIC WARS During the 3rd and 2nd centuries B.C., three wars were fought between Rome and Carthage. The name given to describe the wars Punic, is a divided word from the Latin and Greek words for Phoenician. The city of Carthage, situated in what is now Tunisia in North Africa, was founded in 814 B.C. by the Phoenicians. The first two wars were the longest 23 years and 17 years, separated by an interval of 23 years. The last and third war lasted only three years. It started 52 years after the end of the second Punic War. All three wars were won by Rome, which automatically emerged as the greatest military power in the Mediterranean Sea. The hostility of Carthage impelled Rome to build up its large army and create a strong navy just like the one Carthage had. Strong military leaders of the war for Carthage and his sons Hasdrubal and Hannibal. Rome s outstanding leaders were Scipio Africanus. Belief holds that Phoenician settlers from the Mediterranean port of Tyre discovered the city state of Carthage on the northern coast of Africa. By 265 B.C., Carthage was the richest and the most advanced city in the region, as well as its prominent naval power. • 40. Hamlet Foils In Hamlet The foils of Hamlet In Hamlet, the main character tries to get revenge on his father s death by plotting the murder of Claudius, but it is his indecisiveness that leads to many problems. He is supported or opposed by characters who are considered foils to him. A foil is when a main character is compared to another character to better reveal the characteristics of the main character, as well as his intentions and motivations. There are many characters who can be considered foils to Hamlet. However, the characters that truly stand as foils to the protagonist are Laertes, Fortinbras, and Claudius. Hamlet and his foils are all put in a similar situation, but it is how they react and deal with their issues that makes them distinct from Hamlet. To begin with, Laertes is the most similar foil to Hamlet when it comes to circumstance and rage. They both want revenge for their father s death, though their method of revenge are different. Laertes is a man of action and wants to get revenge right away after learning that his father Polonius has been killed. In contrast to Laertes, Hamlet does not even make public knowledge of his father s murder. Laertes doesn t procrastinate his attempt at revenge like Hamlet. However, he is very shallow and Hamlet is a genius in comparison. Hamlet thinks of ways to plan his revenge against Claudius, though it is his tendency to overthink that leads him to his tragic flaw. He himself realizes that Laertes is put in a similar position to himself. I ll be your foil, Laertes: in mine ignorance your skill shall, like a star i the darkest night, Stick fiery off indeed (V.ii.5 7). Rage is another emotion the characters have in common. When Laertes learns of his father s death, he gets enraged and wants to get revenge instantly. To hell, allegiance! Vows, to the blackest devil! Conscience and grace, to the profoundest pit! I dare damnation: to this point I stand, that both worlds I give to negligence, let come what comes; only I ll be revenged most thoroughly for my father. (Act 4 Scene 5 lines 128 134). However the anti knocking properties of diesel is measured by its cetane number. The cetane number is the measurement of the anti knocking and the combustion quality of diesel. It is the equivalent of octane number for gasoline. The average value of cetane number for a diesel fuel ranges from 42 to 45 but for premium diesel cetane number can be up to 60. Another important property of fuels is the calorific value. The calorific value is the amount of heat or energy produced when the fuel is combusted. Therefore the calorific value determines the output power produced by the fuel. It is either measured as either gross calorific value or net calorific value. The most commonly method of comparing calorific values of fuels is net calorific value. The net calorific value of gasoline is 44400 KJ/Kg. This means that 44400 kilojoules of energy is produced for every kilogram of fuel burnt. In comparison, the calorific value of diesel is 43400 (Bureau of Energy efficiency, p.4). The calorific value of diesel is lower than the calorific value of gasoline and hence gasoline has a higher output power than diesel. The output power is one of the most important factors on which efficiency is dependent. Hence it can be said that the efficiency if petrol is higher than that of diesel. Natural selection in the environment is not enough for many animals to keep populations at a manageable rate. Wildlife levels have been on the rise and are now at a point of overflowing their carrying capacities (Emmons 3). So the need for controlling animal populations is growing. Thanks to the increase of population of humans, we are taking more and more land which is making many environments become much smaller or disappear. With the shrinking environments it becomes easier to reach the carrying capacity because the carrying capacity shrinks due to the limited environment they can access. The BrontГ« children wrote together and had their own roles in the works of literature they composed. Emily and her sister, Anne decided to write their own story with a fantasy world after their Brother Branwell allowed them to give him ideas for his own story but did not include them in writing it (Benvenuto 6). The sisters story was ...a saga centered on an imaginary island in the north Pacific, called Gondal (Benvenuto 6). Gondal appears in the earliest piece of writing from Bronte that we have, a diary entry dated November 24, 1834, when she was sixteen years old (Benvenuto 6). At the same time the church was leading but her great strides were infiltrated or became mixed with pagan/ Greek values that were seemingly unacceptable. Thus, the European world saw the reason to question the church s consistency in the religious matters and the absolute attribute of things to God or religion.
