Confirmation Is A Christian Rite Of Passage
Confirmation is a Christian rite of passage and is one of the seven sacraments of a Catholic
Church. The purpose of this rite is to seal a person with the gift of the holy ghost and to overall
strengthen a Christian. This ceremony is for young adults who are soon to be fully pledged
Christians, however anyone who has been baptized and is ready for confirmation may receive it.
Bishop s are the ones who performs the confirmation and oversees it. Another person who is
involved in this ceremony is the sponsor, whose job is to bring the person who is to be confirmed
to the bishop. There are several stages to this rite. First stage is when your sponsor brings you to
the bishop who is performing the confirmation. This part is the segregation part

What s Is For Sports Analysis
S is for Sports I have been playing sports for my entire life. I have been a soccer player, tennis
player, and a swimmer. I played soccer for 1 year at a team that is no longer a team. I swam for
eight years, but only three years competitively. I played tennis when I was four, for about two
years, but then I broke my collar bone so I quit. After I turned 12, I started to play again and I
really enjoy it. At the beginning of summer, I started to take it more seriously by getting private
lessons once a week, and I started to go a lot more then I used to. I was going 5 times a week every
week, playing 6 hours a day. Over the summer, I started to get much better. Now, I go 4 times a
week every week, playing an hour and a half a day. Swimming

Dao De Jing And Daoist Philosophy
Imitating a particular action, thing, or other person first entails perception and observing. Imitation
of nature to live in harmony is the basis of Daoist philosophy, which begins with observation.
Having ideals and a path stems from understanding how to perceive and achieve the ideal through
the path. The process of realization begins with chapters from the Dao De Jing, practicing Aikido
with intent, and the connection with our environment. A major part that I observed in the Dao De
Jing is the realization that Dao is significant to a harmonious life. Focusing on Dao and the
passages of the Dao De Jing tie together what Daoist philosophers believe. All these things
combined, brings about the principles of Daoist philosophy.
Before parallels can be drawn between ideals and paths in Daoism, Daoist philosophy and Dao
must be defined. It is hard to put Daoist Philosophy into a nice, neat sentence because of the
complexity and vast amount of information on the subject. For the intent of this paper, Daoist
philosophy is defined as a Chinese philosophy that takes a more naturalist approach to religion and
way of living. It is the connection between imitating nature and harmony. Dao is defined in Chapter
1 as the constant moving everything that surrounds us. It is not tangible, it is just what it is, and
you do not know exactly what this something is.
Living in Harmony with everything surrounding oneself requires a realization of what is around
and how to properly interact with one s surroundings. One must join an ideal and a path to
achieving that ideal. Without a path, can the desired goal have the outcome that is intended? A
reading from the Dao De Jing suggest no, that the path and ideal are connected and one. But first,
one must learn how to perceive nature. Perceiving nature is necessary to be able to imitate it
correctly. Observation of what surrounds us and how we interact with our environment. Chapter 36
of the Dao De Jing talks about the idea of perceiving and understanding one s insight. Whatever is
gathered in must first be stretched out; whatever is weakened must first be made strong; whatever
is abandoned must first be joined; whatever is taken away must first be given. This translates to if

The Anatomy Of The Knee Injuries
Shianne Rey
Complete Tear of the ACL A torn ACL is one of the most serious and common knee injuries. Many
aspects play a role in the treatment and rehabilitation of this injury. This paper will discuss the
anatomy of the knee, describe a torn ACL, and the rehabilitation. The knee is a hinge joint which
gives the legs mobility. The muscles and ligaments of this joint allows flexion and extension of the
leg. Because the knee supports the majority of the body weight, it is at risk of overuse and
traumatic injuries (France). The knee is composed of 3 major bones; the femur, tibia, and the
fibula. The femur is the biggest bone in the human body, the inferior end flares out into two
rounded landmarks called femoral condyles. Their name comes from the side of the body they
are on, which is where we get Lateral Femoral Condyle and Media Femoral Condyle. Superiorly
to these condlyes are the medial and lateral femoral epicondyles. The bones inferior to the femur
are the Tibia and Fibula. The superior end of the Tibia flares out into slightly concave structures
called the Tibial Plateaus. A crescent wedge shape of cartilage sits in each plateau. These are the
Medial Meniscus and the Lateral Meniscus. This cartilage acts as a shock absorber and distributes
forces. The menisci are bathed by the synovial fluid of the knee (France). The meniscus is what
separates the each side of the Tibia and Femur and the transverse ligament connects each menisci.
There is a circular bone on the

Society In A Good Man Is Hard To Find
The characters in A Good Man Is Hard to Find are shaped by the society in which they live in.
For instance, throughout the text, June Star uses phrases which would hurt people and would
be considered disrespectful as natural sayings. When the family stopped by Red Sammy for a
break, Red Sam s wife seeing June Star said, Ain t she cute? [...] Would you like to come be my
little girl? In response, June Star said, No I certainly wouldn t [...] I wouldn t live in a broken

Domestic Abuse And Domestic Violence
I chose to do the domestic survivors subculture I feel as if it was a great topic to focus on its
going to reveal a lot of emotion. Domestic violence can happen to anyone. Domestic violence
sometimes called battering is against the law. At first glance, it is hard to imagine why a victim of
domestic violence would voluntarily remain in the relationship with the abuser. As you may know
domestic violencedoesn t always start off as violence it starts off as in the form of love. The
abuser feels as if they love the person so much that it hurts. That the abuse they inflict on the
person they love is because they love and care about them. Many victims feel as if no one will
believe them. There has been so many cases that have gone unanswered because no one really
knows what goes on. The person being abused hides what the abuser does because they think it is
something they did wrong or they think the person loves them. Domestic abuse comes in different
forms it can be verbal, physical, or sexual. Domestic abuse leaves psychological scars from
anxiety due to living in ongoing danger. In my essay you will get to know a lot of women that
have survived domestic abuse and their stories.
Meet Lisette Johnson she is a domestic abuse survivor her story started off as her husband calling
her names and always talking about her after while it progressed to much more. She feared
leaving him because she had two kids and she was for sure she wouldn t get full custody of them.
So she stuck

Leaders Are Not Made, They Are Exposed
Individual Analysis of Group Two Leaders emerge under different situations and circumstances.
Pepicello (2016) argues that leaders are not made, they are exposed (W. Pepicello, personal
communication, June 22, 2016). This is generally observed when working as a team on a project,
especially in a virtual group setting where members are separated by time, distance, and
communication, collaboration or getting members to fully participate in the project take more
effort than in a face to face setting (Malthotra, Majchrzak Rosen, (2007). Over a period of seven
weeks, Group Two members clearly demonstrated not only leadershiptraits, but leader follower
relationship. This paper discusses the emergence of and presence of leadership or... Show more

Once the group was formed, John immediately contacted group members and suggested a
distance education leader to the group, Dr. William Pepicello, the former president of the
University of Phoenix. He also suggested the mode of communication, (a free conference call
without video) to discuss the interview questions, and a work area for the posting documents or
other matter pertaining to the group. Every team member got on board. However, due to a new
email system, Office 365, at Montgomery College, emails from outside the college were
delayed and I was unable to receive or respond to any email coming from the group in a timely
fashion during the first week. However, once my email was functional and running, I immediately
communicated and collaborated with the group and was committed to playing my part. We all
worked as a team and to an extent, exercised a power base of reciprocity. Each member shared the
responsibility of doing his or her assigned part of the project with the expectation that each
member is obligated to fulfil his or her part (Raven, 2008).
Melanie had also suggested another distance education leader, Robert W. Mendenhall (President
Emeritus of Western Governor s University) and had already done some research on him. The
group agreed to interview Dr. Pepicello but kept Mendenhall as a backup.

Learning From A Foreign Language
Learning to write in a foreign language Life is weird and unexpected. You don t know what is
coming up or what is going through. You don t know what s next, but you do have choices, plans
and Images of your future. I started reading and writing when I was 4, it was in Arabic and
writing in Arabic doesn t have many rules. So by the age of eight, I was done with learninghow to
read and write, and started my science studies. I gained some of my skills through writingin Arabic
like meditation and the way of thinking, but this part of life is barely related to the kind of writer I
am now, because writing in English is completely different. My first experience with reading and
writing in English started when I chose to attend an out siding high schoolin another city. It was a
school for top students. Joining this school was my start point with the English and academic
writing. It was also my start point to be here in the US, more than 7,000 miles away from home.
Looking back, if I didn t join this school, I wouldn t be able to write and read in English and I
wouldn t be able to come here. So life is pretty cool about that, it s just one choice led to a very
long series of events that shaped my writing skills and attitudes.
Starting the high school, one the most significant series of events that shaped my writing skills,
was my academic studies. When I joined the school, I was very weak in English and most of my

Abstract:
In agricultural industry, along with vegetables, fruit production also plays a vital role. For better
yield of fruit, detection of fruit diseases at early stage is necessary for taking preventive
measures, so as to reduce the loss of farmer. For detecting the disease an earlier approach was to
hire an expert which was time consuming for large farms, hence to reduce human efforts and to
improve the yield of fruits we are proposing a system which includes smart farming technique .In
the proposed system image processing is used for getting the required output, we are using Open

Abundant Thinking On Practice Is Useful For Multiple...
Abundant Thinking in Practice Abundant thinking is useful for multiple aspects of your
everyday life. You can enjoy your good health and be grateful for it, and if you are suffering
from some sort of ailment, you can seek comfort in the fact that it can always be worse. When
sick, we can remember the good health we enjoyed throughout the past and the good health and
fortune of those we care about most, being grateful for it all. It s about perspective; looking on
the bright side of life and seeing the positive rather than the negatives of our respective lots in
life. How can we continue to think abundantly even during hard financial times? What if you
sign a business contract with someone and are somehow scammed out of your money? It s
natural to mourn the loss of your money and focus on what you lack. We don t live in a perfect
world, and there are people out there who take advantage of other people and are out to rip others
off. Handling this situation as an abundant thinker lessens the negative impact of the hardship of
life. Your intent and focus is always on the abundance of happiness in your life, which will help
dispel negative feelings and negative feelings are most unhelpful. You will need to take action to
resolve your situation, and your attitude can vastly improve and ease the rectification process.
Remember your negative feelings can t hurt people who have wronged you. If you give in to
negative feelings, you are the one robbing yourself of abundance and

The Phantom Of The Opera
Phantom of the Opera has been around for longer than I can recall, being the musical to talk about
among my family as something grand. When I was the age of only fourteen I received the honor of
performing the musical for the first time, although I had to learn a great deal about the script for
that performance, the history behind The Phantom of the Operais not clear to me. So I started my
research their tied to the original piece. Phantom of the opera.com gave a timeline that had the
background, explaining that the original piece was published in 1911 by Gaston Leroux.
(Timeline) The author was inspired by a trip to the Paris opera house, explaining that below the
Paris opera house is a lake, and that he recalled an accident in which the chandelier had fallen
some years earlier. (Hall, P.16) Sparking Gaston Leroux to make the book. The book from this
point was given to the hands of a movie producer making a silent film in November 1925. (The
Phantom of the Opera (1925)) The film after its first round was then re done two more times, one
of which was not a success. Andrew Lloyd Webberin May of 1984 hears about the theatre royals
stage performance and then comes up with the ideal to turn the book/ play at this time into a
musical. The musical took several awards and made countless new fans, finally being turned into a
film by Warner Brothers Dec, 22 2004, showing the same amount of success as the musical show.

After answering multiple questions for different situations I was able to obtain information
about my personality. ENFJ is a very unique and has various skill sets that will allow me as
individual to work in multiple roles. Occupations with good interpersonal skills that allow
productive collaboration through any working process. Although this personality can be
challenging it still has many benefits to help build careers successfully. There are many high
rank positions that this particular personality type would be effective in. Some examples are
sales, social services, community care, legal and the list goes on. In all of these roles there are a
broad range of occupations that would fit perfectly based on the personality type. However, the
ultimate focus is to reach their main dreams. Although they may see their selves as helpers or
enablers, this creates the challenge. Throughout the course of years, I tend to find out more about
myself. Every day is challenging and full of many surprises. However, the most challenging thing
in my life is working with other personalities. Only to find myself considered an ENFJ with a
temperament of NF. Yes, I m open to others and would put myself last, but I now understand how to
truly connect. ENFJ This personality trait reflects many strong characteristic in various settings. It
is the most driven personality to seeking their dreams. Through different skills they are able to play

(Miserandino, 1998, p. 287) Athletes can also suffer greatly from anxiety and stress. (Holm,
Beckwith, Ehde, Tinius, 1995, p. 463) Any of these conditions can be detrimental to ones
competitive ability. Techniques such as mental imagery training and relaxation techniques can be
used to attack problems in these areas. (McKenzie, Howe, 1997, p. 196) Marianne Miserandino s
research was focused on failure, and why athletes believe that they don t accomplish their goals.
She learned that starting at young age, athletes are told that failure comes from their lack of
ability. This is called learned helplessness. (Miserandino, 1998, p. 287) In her study she
approached this problem by splitting her subject into two groups. One group received feedback
about their shooting techniques and were told that lack of effort was the reason for missed shots,
not lack of ability. The other group received only feedback on their techniques.
After her 4 week study was done, the group that received the positive reinforcement showed more
mastery of the skills and greater improvement than their counterparts. (Miserandino, 1998 p. 286)
Another study also used basketball free throws as the basis for its study. Craig Wrisberg and Mark
Anshel did this study. It looks at the effectiveness of applying cognitive techniques to improve
performance of shooting free throws. (Wrisberg, Anshel, 1989, p. 95)

Accidents Happen By Edgar Snyder Associates Essay
Accidents Happen According to Edgar Snyder Associates, there were 2,823 motor vehicle
accidents among people ages 13 to 19 years old in 2012. On a rainy day in October of 2015,
when I was 18 years old I got into a car wreck while I was driving to work. Be careful when
driving, you never know when an accident will happen to you. When I woke up that morning I
had no idea what the day had in store for me. To start off, I had gotten up late and I was rushing
through my morning routine. I needed to be at work by 8:30 am and I kept my eyes on the
clock. I really did not want to be late, after all I had only just started working there a few weeks
ago. When I finally had myself all ready, it was 8:20 am. It takes me fifteen minutes to get to
work in Springfield from Williamsville and I knew that if I wanted to get there on time I would
need to hurry. As I went outside to my car I noticed that it was sprinkling rain. I started my car
and I was off. I was speeding and trying to make it through every light without stopping. All the
while I was still concerned with the music I had playing, constantly changing the station. I was
getting close to work now and it was about 8:27 am. I had just passed over the Sangamon River
and was approaching Freedom gas station where I needed to turn left onto Dirksen Parkway. The
light rain was still coming down as I got closer to the turn lane. I soon realized that quite a few
cars were backed up at the light ahead of me. I started to get over into

tonicity on cell membrane lab report Essay
Effects of Tonicity on Cell Membrane
Abstract The purpose of this experiment was to determine the effects of tonicity on a cell
membrane using red blood cells, potato strips and three unknown solutions (A, B, C). First three
slides were prepared containing RBC s and unknown solutions A, B and C. A control slide was
prepared only using RBC s. After observing each slide under the microscope it was determined that
unknown solution A was hypertonic because the RBC appeared to have shrunk. The RBC in
unknown solution B appeared to be swollen, therefor, the tonicity of unknown solution B was
hypotonic. Unknown solution C showed no change to the RBC shape, it was suggested that
unknown solution C was isotonic. To confirm the tonicity ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Cells placed in a hypertonic solution will shrink as the solvent leaves the cells.
Plant cells react differently to osmosis than animal cells. When an animal cell is placed in a
hypertonic solution, water will leave the cell causing it to shrink, this is known as crenation. When
a plant cell is placed in a hypertonic solution the cell membrane will pull away from the cell wall,
making the plant flaccid, this is known as plasmolysis. When an animal cell is placed in a
hypotonic solution, water will rush in to the cell, causing it to swell and sometimes burst. A plant
cell placed in a hypotonic solution will also swell due to water rushing in, but will resist rupturing
due to the rigid cell wall. Plant cells become more rigid in a hypotonic solution.
In this activity we will be observing the effects of potato slices and red blood cells being placed in
varying molar levels of NaCl.
Methods
The materials used for the first part of the experiment comprised of the following: a microscope, 4
slides, 4 slide covers, blood samples, lancet, a sheet of paper towel, 3 test tube droppers, Solutions
A, Solutions B, and Solution C.
Blood samples from a volunteer within the group were used to conduct the experiment. The
volunteer s hands were thoroughly washed and an alcohol swab was applied to further sanitize the
hands. To gather the blood samples needed, a lancet was properly placed on the forefinger and a
firm pressure was applied, which activated the needle inside to

Our first experience of this old English term came about not as secrets in a person s past but in a

families and diverse activities. Among those homes was an old three story English style rooming
house in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan that was owned by the Anglican Theological College of
Emmanuel and St. Chad. Shirley and I had a flat on the third floor with four single girls living
above us and a single eligible theological professor/Priest below us! Not only were the upper
floors busy but we also had a presence living in the basement that from time to time would enter
into our community life. Special care was taken by all of us to ensure we did not have a
prankster amongst us so we made sure to ascertain that the occurrences were confirmed by more
than one person and that they had happened more than one time to different people. Often we
would hear the horn on my bicycle give a blast at different times of the day. Something or
someone had to squeeze the rubber bulb to force the air through the reed on that horn! During a
small dinner party hosted by the professor, the pictures on the wall shifted on their nails, and there
was no vibration on the floors from music, dancing, or any kind of enthusiastic activity! More than

as a practical and theoritical training given to either student nurses or nurses with the sole aim of

nurses because nursing education is not meant for student nurses alone, even the registered nurses
can still undergo some training to help them upgrade themselves and give effective nursing care to
their patients. Nursing education can also be defined as a professional education which is

Privileged Communication
Ethics is the study of right and wrong (Houser, 2015). privileged communication, is one of the key
elements of ethics in research. Privileged communication includes conversations within the context
of a protected relationship, such as that between doctor and patient, a therapist and client, an
attorney and client, a husband and wife, or a priest and penitent, under common law, privilege
involves a number of rules excluding evidence that would be adverse to a fundamental principle or
relationship if it were disclosed Such communications are secure, reliable, and meant to be kept
among the directly involved parties ( Ethicsin medical research, n.d.). confidential communication
is privileged depends on the relationship between the parties and the circumstances under which the
communication is made. The primary reason is to allow the patient to speak freely with a doctor
who is treating him or her to ensure that the patient receives the best and fullest medical care
available under the circumstances. For example, should a patient confess to a psychiatrist that he or
she has committed a crime, the doctor would not be allowed to share that information or be
compelled to testify against the patient, If the patient were afraid of sharing the truth for fear that it
may lead to an arrest or damaging testimony at trial, the patient may not be truthful and the
treatment process could become ineffective, take much longer, or lead to an incorrect diagnosis

Aspects Of The Origin Of Ma
Aspects of the origin of MA
Literature on management accounting origin split in to two completely different categories. One
that explains the development through what is called economic approach and the second through
non economic approach.
Economic approach
First signs of management accounting emerged as tool of cost control in early 19th century. This is
when many businesses were simply made up of a group of people who specialised in certain
individual areas. Production and supply of raw materials was completely separate at that time.
These small businesses were therefore easy and straight forward to manage. The manufacturer
would simply determine how much would materials cost and add the cost of work, which is
generally evaluating the time that it takes to produce a certain good and set a monetary value. A
dramatic wind of change to this was seen during the Industrial Revolution. Businesses became
bigger and more complex. Perfect examples could be such as cotton textile factories in England or
cotton mills in United States of America. Now instead of individual craftsmen, businesses became
big hierarchical enterprises. According to Johnson and Kaplan (1987) this was the emerging point
of modern management accounting.
Further advancement was noticed in the 19th century: The emergence and rapid growth of railways
in the mid nineteenth century was another major driving force in the development of management
accounting systems. New measures, such as cost per ton per mile,

Bounded Rationality Theory
I think everyone is in agreeance that there are several elements involved in criminality and why
crime is ever an option. One significant reason why an individual turns to a life of crime is that
of necessity. Certain people believe that they have no other alternative but to rob, steal, or lie to
get what they need to survive, or to provide for their family. About the passage, The working
poor. There are law abiding citizens going to work every day, and they still will not have enough
to sustain a healthy lifestyle. They are the working to be poor. We must give people the
opportunities to succeed so that they do not become criminals or participate in deviant behaviors. I

rewards. This concept is similar to the drug dealer that refuses to get more narcotics that he can
sell. They are weighing the benefits received with only making enough money to buy more drugs.
They do not want to increase their productivity because of the increased risk of prosecution or
being victimized by other criminals. Therefore they stay within a safe zone continuing the risk of
illegal activity but not receiving a substantial reward (Johnson Payne, 2016). I was also intrigued
by the prospect theory, which suggests a value function that resembles the classical benefit in the
outcomes related to targets. Also, a criminal will avoid risk when they are associated with
receiving gains, but will, however, take a chance or risk to avoid losses. Then finally in the
prospect theory the losses massively outnumber the gains, therefore becoming more impactful and
overpowering the rewards. Unfortunately, during my career, I have observed this approach through

The Horror of Genocide in Our World
Genocide is a crucial topic in International Relations, as Genocide means the killing of thousands
of people from different ethnic groups, races, religions, or national groups. After viewing the
full length documentary on Genocide: Worse Then War, I understand what genocide is now and
just how many people it has affected then and now as survivors and family members re tell the
stories from what they remember. This video starts out by explaining what genocide is and how
it s worse than war because thousands of people were killed at once and no one was stopping
this from happening. This video starts out in Rwanda showing the people that have murdered
people during the genocide and a man being interviewed explains some people may kill two or
three people while some may have killed thousands, also some may have never killed any but
they still contributed to the massive killing. When in Rwanda the footage shown in the film is
showing men at a concentration camp digging hole or burring the killed victims and plowing the
land for it to be planted. Elie Ngarambe also explains how a machete killed these people. He
explains that people were hacked with the machete to death, sometimes more than once depending
on how they were hit cutting off the heads and other body parts off the victims. As said in the film
there have been more than a hundred million people killed in genocide making the total larger than
any war fought in that time making genocide worse than war. Darfur is the

The Pros And Cons Of The Acquisition Of Biological Weapons
Given the difficulties to acquire and develop of biological weapons, the DHS likely saw the
acquisition of the REBS as unnecessary. Obtaining a successful biological program is difficult as
seen with past attempts by governments. Both the United States and Russia were two of the best
equipped countries to develop such weaponry and devoted plentiful resources to their programs.
Even with the large influx money, both countries encountered difficult hurdles (Parachini, 2001). If
a terrorist organization were to obtain a biological weapon, the support of a state government
would be needed. The multiple barriers needed to acquire biological weapons coupled with
cheaper, more accessible options dissuades terrorists from perusing biological

Open the hood of your car, making sure the hood is propped up and secure. Locate the
transmission fluid s reservoir, which has a different location in each make and model of car. Use
your owner s manual, if necessary.
Carefully remove the dipstick from the reservoir. The fluid should be visible up the entire length
of the dipstick. Use a clean cloth to wipe the fluid off the dipstick. This will allow you to check
the color. The fluid should be clear enough to see through it. If it appears dark and brown, you
need to flush out the reservoir and replace with a new transmission fluid.
Replacing Transmission Fluid
While some car manufacturers recommend replacing transmission fluid every 30,000 miles, other
manufacturers believe it is not necessary until you hit the 100,000 mile mark. It is best to consult a

10 Christmas Movies that Won t Turn you Into a Grinch or Scrooge
Hundreds of Christmas movies have been made since the invention of motion pictures and are still
being made to this day. There are only a few that are considered Classics . What I consider classics
are the movies that families pull out every year to watch during the Christmas season. If you prefer
more recently made movies, there are many great movies that made it onto my list from the 90s
and 2000s. These are some of my favorite holiday movies that I watched every year since I could
understand the English language and that I still thoroughly enjoy today.
#10 A Christmas Carol (2009) This Disney animated movie is the newest version of the 1938
movie, A Christmas Carol. The famous actor, Jim Carrey, voices Ebenezer Scrooge
. Disney did a
perfect job of following the original storyline with Scrooge, the three ghosts, and all the other
actors. This very exciting film is also very popular in 3D. Because this film is directed by Robert
Zemeckis, it is a fantastic remake of an old, loved, holiday classic, yet some people still prefer the
1984 version.
#9 A Christmas Carol (1984) This Christmas movie is a version of Charles Dickenss famous 1800s
play and book, A Christmas Carol. This movie is one of the most accurate movies based on the
play and book, and never gets boring, because it of the action with all the ghosts. Because of this, I
consider this movie to be the original version although I know it

This case study considers a 63 year old Asian male diagnosed with pulmonary tuberculosis due to
drug sensitive Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
The patient is in the high risk group as his age, gender and ethnicity are risk factors for tuberculosis.
The immune system of the elderly is often compromised (National Health Service, 2012). The
patient s age suggests a weak immune system, increasing his susceptibility to M.tuberculosis.
Individuals originating from countries where tuberculosis is prevalent are at a higher risk of
developing active tuberculosis (National Health Service, 2012). Tuberculosis is still highly

has remained very high from 1990 2013. Baring Africa, South East Asia has the highest incidence
rate from 1990 2013, however the Western pacific has shown a significant decrease in its incidence
rate, showing that tuberculosis is still highly prevalent in certain parts of Asia.
PATHOGENESIS
As stated by Greenwood et al., (2002), the lung is often the location of initial infection. The
tubercle bacilli, consumed by macrophages in the alveolar, replicate forming the initial lesion
called the Ghon focus. The resulting primary complex formed includes the Ghon focus and
enlarged hilar lymph nodes. The nodes contain further Ghon foci which develop due to bacilli
being transported by phagocytic cells. Additionally, bacilli are propagated to many organs, tissues
and other parts of the lung by the blood and lymph system.
However, not all bacillus are destroyed during the immune response. Some survive within the
macrophage, remaining dormant and can later cause a post primary disease. In most cases, the
primary complex is destroyed, nonetheless, on rare occurrences a contagious foci develops and

Balanitis Xerotica Obliterans Research Paper
Men who are affected by unusual spots, penis pain, thickening of the penis skin, and phimosis the
inability to retract the foreskin may be affected by a condition known as balanitis xerotica
obliterans. While this condition is not generally serious, it can get worse without treatment and may
lead to more serious complications. Not all doctors are familiar with this condition, so men who
experience the related symptoms should be familiar with the disorder so that they can help their
doctors understand what to look for.
Following is a brief overview of balanitis xerotica obliterans, as well as the available treatments and
some tips to proper penis care.
What is balanitis xerotica obliterans?
Commonly abbreviated as BXO, this condition is considered as the male manifestation of lichen
sclerosis, a benign condition that affects the skin. While the symptoms are not confined to the
penis, they can be most worrying in this area, as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, there appears to be a hereditary component, and men who suffer from BXO are also likely
to experience other autoimmune type conditions. While BXO may appear unattractive and cause
issues with sex, the condition is not contagious and cannot be passed to a partner, either through
sexual contact or otherwise.
Common Symptoms of BXO
The most common symptoms of BXO include white patches on the glans penis, as well as under
the foreskin; a thickened ring of tissue may also form around the tip of the glans, and penis pain
may also occur. Adhesions of the foreskin to the glans may also occur and lead to phimosis, a
condition in which it is difficult or impossible to retract the foreskin over the crown of the penis.
Erectile issues may also accompany these symptoms.
In more advanced stages, the white or grayish patches may reach the shaft, and even the scrotum.
Scrubbing or otherwise attempting to move the lesions is not effective and may cause further
damage to the skin.

The Acts Of The Christian Movement Essay
The story of the Acts details the growth of the Christian movement from a small group of
dedicated followers into a multi ethnic, international movement. As quoted by The Bible Project,
[Acts] is a story about Jesus leading his people by the spirit to go out into the world and invite all
nations to live under his reign (Mackie Acts Ch. 1 12. ). Traditionally this book has been called
the Acts of the Apostles because it describes the apostles deeds in spreading Jesusmessage. As Paul
and Peter journey through the ancient world they bring with them the word of God. Sinners,
gentiles, and persecutors alike are invited to join the movement and seek salvation. In Acts, Luke
details the growth of the Christian movement and attributes that growth to the power of Jesus and
his message of welcome which invites an ethnically and geographically diverse followership.
The story begins in Jerusalem where the risen Jesus Christ describes God s kingdom to his
disciples and instructs them to carry the message of His kingdom to the ends of the earth. The
disciples begin during the Festival of the Pentacost at which Jewish pilgrims from all over the
ancient world have gathered. Thousands of these pilgrims receive God s message and accept his
calling to create communities of generosity and worship. Before the disciples leave Jerusalem, they
are preaching to a mostly Jewish crowd. As such, their persuasive methods are generally geared to
the Jewish tradition. First, the disciples claim

a multicultural method with his five types of Christian ethics (Yoder, 1996). According to Atkinson,
(1995), the fundamental situation is that Christ is against culture. Culture is viewed as being
intimidating to Christianity in belief as well as tradition. Regardless of the society in which
Christians find themselves, they are called to oppose the customs and accomplishments of culture.
Assurance to Christ requires a decision (Yoder, 1996).
Christ against culture known as the New law on this interpretation the Lordship of Christ does
not define that untruth is the uppermost of abundant powers, on the other hand, that He is the
solitary power surrounding the Christians (GCU, lecture). It therefore, awards Christ and culture
as a major one or both superior; if we take up our cross and follow Christ, we need to discard any
faithfulness to culture. For example, the book of (1 John 2:15) declares, Do not love the world or
anything in the world; if anyone loves the world, the love of the father is not in him (NIV, 1995).
Christ of culture known as the Natural Law acknowledges an ultimate agreement amongst Christ

Dr. Heidegger s Experiment
Hawthorne creates a delightfully dreary Gothic short story ВЁDr. Heidegger s ExperimentВЁ
through the use of a dilapidated family estate, heightened emotions from the characters Mr.
Medbourne, Colonel Killigrew, and Mr. Gascoigne, as well as unexplained objects such as the
painting of Dr Heidegger s lost love coming to life.
Hawthorne s short story is set in Heidegger s study, a room that was once magnificent, but when
this story occurs it has cobwebs and layer of dust covering the room. Gothic short stories regularly

The Ethics Of The Ethical Systems
The Ethical Systems In ethics, four systems serve as different beliefs concerning our morals:
Relativism Ethics, Consequentialism Ethics, Deontological Ethics, and Virtue Ethics. These four
theories attempt to define what right and wrong should be and how one should handle any
situation. There are many strengths and weaknesses of each view. The goal is to determine which
theory is the best by exploring real world situations and questioning the claims that just don t work
out.
RELATIVISM ETHICS
There are two different types of relativistic views: Cultural Relativism and Subjectivism. Cultural
Relativism is the belief that culture defines what is right and wrong. Subjectivism is the belief that
the individual person decides what is right and wrong. Many pros and cons exist with an overall
relativistic view. First, the positive: Someone with this view will obviously be very tolerant and is
not likely to discriminate against a different culture or person. Also, morality depends on a social
experience, instead of being derived from a higher being, morality is derived from the surrounding
people. It is good to know the diversity and experience the many aspects of the world. Although this
might sound like a perfect world for everyone to be tolerant and understanding of one another, there
are many flaws to this theory. One flaw is that with this way of thinking, justice cannot exist. If
someone committed murder, they cannot be punished because they believe murder is right, which

Reflection For Classroom Learning
To learn this week s material, answer the discussion post, program the programming assignment,
and get a good grade on the self quiz, I studied the learning material for almost 6 hours a day. I
find if fun to sit down with the learning material, which was chapters one and two, and take notes
during all my free time.
My reactions to the learning material chapters one and two are so much information, that I didn t
have enough time to read the optional learning material, or watch the optional video lectures.
Chapters one and two are more than 100 pages of reading material; however, I did have time to
read the NetBeans tutorials.
I m still waiting for feedback to my discussion posts. I may have gotten my discussion post done
early. There were only 3 or four other discussion posts posted previous to me entering in my
discussion response in the discussion forum. However, I gave these three other students responses
posts to their discussion posts, where I gave good grades for using learning material vocabulary
and learning material insight to what the definitions of four operators are( ++ , != , , and %= ).
I m a little dis heartened right now. The reason for my discouragement is my computer may have a
glitch. Certain mathematical operations are fouled up by some malicious code, and when I
multiply variables by 10 (in Netbeans and other IDEs), I get erroneous decimal places added onto
my figures.
This week, I learned how to setup NetBeans, how to discern basic fundemental programming
blocks of java, how to setup java variables, how to control the flow of execution with branches and
loops, how to test for conditions with operators, how to build classes, how to use installed classes
like String and Math, how to use installed subroutines with string and Math, what the size of
primitive data types are(short, int, long, float, double, char, and ), how to use enums, etc. ...almost
too much to list in one paragraph, here.
What causes me to wonder is the built in methods of the String function, the built in methods of the
Math library, and string formatting options. I want to make a website out of these built in classes
and their subroutines. If I mastered these classes and subroutines, I would be a better

For centuries, humans have loved stories, particularly ones they can either relate to, or ones that are
plain exciting. A story of adventure, mystery, and the honest against the malevolent... the book
series The Castaways of the Flying Dutchman had all of this. Brian Jacques wrote the series, with
the first book published in 2001 and the last one in 2006, spanning over a three book series. The
first one is the one that named the series, the second book called The Angel s Command, and the
author named the final installment The Voyage of Slaves. The series follows two characters, a
boy named Ben and his dog, Ned, as they travel through the world on land and sea, facing
diabolical people and plans. The two ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, the author based the legend in the story off of a real sailor s tale. As previously stated, the
legend this uses features the ghost ship The Flying Dutchman, a name that people have used
over and over again. Although Jacques changed parts of the legend a bit to fit the series, it
introduces the reader to a whole new world of stories. Adapting a legend adds a whole new depth
to the story, as it makes the narrative so appealing. Personally, I had never heard of this legend
before, but the first novel actually made me want to learn more about that time period and the
legends mariners would tell of the mysteries of the sea. Known for his skill in writing the Redwall
books, Brian Jacques carried this style over into the Castaways series. He uses vivid figurative
language, exquisite vocabulary, exceptional dialogue techniques, and creates memorable characters
all throughout the whole series. In The Angel s Command, the very first sentence of the book
reads, Great and golden, like an enormous, newly minted doubloon, the Caribbean sun presided
over the waterfront. From merely the first sentence, the reader can see how amazing Jacques
writes, using similes and excellent vocabulary. Yet he doesn t write with words that no one can
even read, let alone understand. Jacques does a fine job writing with words that are the slightest bit
complex that it increases the reader s vocabulary, yet they know what they are reading.

A Good Example Of Mr. Johnson s First Amendment Rights
In the year 1984 1989 there was a case that struck America and shows a very good example to
having your first amendment rights, not everyone will necessarily agree with this but this is how
Mr. Johnson took his actions against the supreme court. This case is based on Mr. Johnson feeling
violated against his first amendment right and standing up for himself and burning the American
flag. Many patriotic people would completely disagree with this but, in our first amendment we
have the freedom of speech and freedom of expression. Leading Mr. Johnson to this case because
the American flag is supposed to represent our country and our freedom. Gregory Lee Johnson
burned an American flag outside of the convention center where the 1984 Republican National
Convention was being held in Dallas, Texas. Johnson burned the flag to protest the policies of
President Ronald Reagan. He was arrested and charged with violating a Texas statute that prevented
the desecration of a venerated object, including the American flag, if such action were likely to
incite anger in others. A Texas court tried and convicted Johnson. He appealed, arguing that his
actions were symbolic speech protected by the First Amendment. Based off this case with this
evidence this shows how much this could affect Mr. Johnson and the public significantly. Mr.
Johnson born... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

In Chapter 27, The New Politics of Consumption: Why Americans Want So Much More Than They
Need, author Juliet Schor states consuming is authentic as it gets in the American culture and the
standard of living has changed in relation to consumerism. Americans need to work longer hours in
order to make money that they are then pressured to spend. Schor describes today s consumerism as
the new consumerism. This can be defined by an upscaling lifestyle norms; the pervasiveness of

acquiring them; and the growing disconnect between consumer desires and ... Show more content

The new consumerism essentially with its increasing aspirational gap, has begun to endanger the
quality of American life. Consequently, there is pressure to keep up with commodity goods and not
worthwhile experiences. Schor claims that Americans did not become greedy out of nowhere, but
instead, The aspirational gap has been created by structural changes such as the decline of
community and social connection and the intensification of inequality... (Schor, P.255, L2, L#2).
A right to a decent standard of living and quality of life rather than quantity of stuff are two of
the seven basic elements Schor argues for a new politics of consumption. Author Sut Jhally
stated that a quality of life survey seemed to reveal that things are not fundamentally connected
to goods. It is primarily social life and not material life that seems to be the locus of perceived
happiness (Jhally, P.248, L2, L#13). The new consumerism involves impulsively reacting to
advertisers who create a desire that we have to keep wanting more if we want to maintain some
level of social status. It s a never ending cycle that economists feel will lead to doom, yet do we
really care? Both Jhally and James Twitchell provides an exchange of ideas and question what
happiness truly means in our society. Jhally presents his theory on this subject by highlighting that
Advertising doesn t say that happiness comes only

Analysis of the Painting Great Detonators by Acamonchi
Contemporary art is the art created in the present time. Today, artists affected by the social
context and personal experiences reproduce pieces of art that question or make a point about
controversial issues in our society. A great example is the painting created in 2006 called Great
Detonators ( Grandes Detonadores ) by the Mexican artist Acamonchi. The painting is located in
the exhibition The Very large Array: San Diego/ Tijuana Artist in the Peter C. Farrell Gallery
inside the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (MCA). Acamonchi s piece is a collage
painting integrated by posters, stencils, and graffiti, which illustrate an obvious inspiration by the
street art style. It is composed of cold colors such as blue, green, and aqua. Its multiple media
consist of spray, paper, tape, acrylic, and oil. Moreover, the gallery is presented in big white walls
and it has natural and artificial white light. The surface texture of the piece is a combination of
corrugated, flat and in some parts smooth. The size is about 8 feet wide and 8 feet long, the
condition is excellent, and the frame is made of wood. Furthermore, the painting the Great
Detonators conveys ideas about mass produced waste, political awareness and urban chaos.
Consequently, the artist Acamonchi uses this piece of art to express his opinion about important
issues today during our contemporary times.
First of all, through the use of scale, Acamonchi communicated ideas regarding mass produced
waste in his piece the

Maxine Greene s Shapes Of Childhood Recalled
In Shapes of Childhood Recalled by Maxine Greene the author explores how children and humans
alike absorb and construe the world around them, from shapes and outlines to forming an
understanding and fitting this information in their schema. Greene takes the reader on a journey in
this passage from children not having any prior knowledgeabout their surrounding environment to
being able to retrieve learned material. Many philosophers have used the term tabula rasato describe
how not only children learn from experiences and are initially born as a blank slate but also as
adults continue to learn from what they encounter in life. This term was first introduced by John

Merriam Webster defines the noun horizon as: the limit or range of a person s knowledge,
understanding, or experience, but horizon can also be interpreted as a change or goals that one
might have. When deciphering the meaning of this sentence in terms of the capabilities of a person
we strain toward horizon meaning how much conscious effort is put towards one s education and
towards enjoying life. Living in the United States one is legally obligated to attend school but how
well and how much effort is put into schooling is the student s decision, even though they are
usually pressured by family members and teachers alike to try their best because what they do now
can impact their future. Horizons of what was this line from the passage can be interpreted as
looking at the past of what happened in education, the policies and ways of teaching that were put
in place. These are still constantly changing and molding to the students and educators making sure

Drinking Culture and American Social Norms
SPEECH #3 PERSUASIVE SPEECH Name: DANIEL C. DILIGENT Title: Lowering the Legal
Drinking Age Specific Purpose: To argue in favor of lowering the minimum legal drinking age in
the United States. Thesis Statement: I will discuss 1) the current legal drinking age, 2) the effect
that this drinking age has upon American social norms, and 3) the potential benefits of a lower
drinking age. I. INTRODUCTION A. Hook: Alcoholis ever present in today s American society.
Television viewers are constantly bombarded with advertisements promoting its consumption.
Social events rarely take place without their attendees drinking some alcoholic beverage or another.
However, young people in America are told by society that they are not allowed to... Show more

Alcohol would no longer be perceived as a forbidden fruit
III. CONCLUSION In conclusion, the current law setting the minimum drinking age at 21 has
failed in its effort to keep America s young people safe from the dangerous aspects of alcohol
consumption. In addition to being ineffective, the law impinges upon the rights of individuals to
partake in activities which are otherwise pervasive in today s American social culture. Though
those who are 18 years old are considered adults in nearly all facets of the law, including voting
rights and the ability to join the military, they are still treated as minors when it comes to
drinking. If an 18 year old is old enough to make those important decisions, then he or she is
certainly old enough to decide whether or not he or she is ready to consume alcohol. Because of
the current laws, young men and women are compelled to furtively experiment with alcohol.
Rather than beginning their drinking experiences under the supervision of responsible adults, the
young people do so in secret, because the laws and the culture they have created refuse to allow
them to explore their natural curiosities. By lowering the drinking age, the U.S. can begin to raise
more responsible drinkers, who will not be as prone to alcohol abuse or addiction as today s
Americans are. Thank you.

the Old and New Testaments. Various exercises were employed to display gentleness using songs,

The Reality of To Kill A Mockingbird Essay
The Reality of To Kill A Mockingbird
The novel, To Kill A Mockingbird, takes place during a racially intense time in history. Harper
Lee s novel was intended to bring a harsh sense of reality to the real world, and demonstrate how it
really was during this time in history. This novel is set in Maycomb, Alabama, somewhere during
the time period of 1925 1935. Times were hard for the citizens of Maycomb during this period,
because of the depression. There are many fictional events in this novel related to non fictional

Although the actual number of lynchings declined after 1892, the percentage of Black victims
increased. (Gibson 1) There are 2805 documented victims of lynch mobs killed between 1882 and
1930 in ten southern states. Although mobs murdered almost 300 white men and women, the vast
majority of almost 2,500 lynching victims were African American. Of these black victims, 94
percent died in the hands of white lynch mobs. The scale of this carnage means that, on the
average, a black man, woman, or child was murdered nearly once a week, every week, between
1882 and 1930 by a hate driven white mob. (Braziel 1)
On top of lynching, African American s had to deal with hate groups, such as the Klu Klux
Klan. William Joseph Simmons founded the second Ku Klux Klan in 1915 atop Stone
Mountain, Georgia. Middle class whites filled the ranks of the Ku Klux Klan. Many had worked
hard to achieve a measure of economic independence, which they feared they might lose in an
increasingly industrialized society. The typical 1920s Klansman managed or owned a small
business known as a mom and pop store. They feared socialism and loudly denounced anything
considered communist. The Klan achieved considerable political power in several states, including
Indiana, Colorado, and Oklahoma. (Klu Klux Klan 1) Ku Klux Klan membership peaked in early

  • 2. Confirmation Is A Christian Rite Of Passage Confirmation is a Christian rite of passage and is one of the seven sacraments of a Catholic Church. The purpose of this rite is to seal a person with the gift of the holy ghost and to overall strengthen a Christian. This ceremony is for young adults who are soon to be fully pledged Christians, however anyone who has been baptized and is ready for confirmation may receive it. Bishop s are the ones who performs the confirmation and oversees it. Another person who is involved in this ceremony is the sponsor, whose job is to bring the person who is to be confirmed to the bishop. There are several stages to this rite. First stage is when your sponsor brings you to the bishop who is performing the confirmation. This part is the segregation part ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I played soccer for 1 year at a team that is no longer a team. I swam for eight years, but only three years competitively. I played tennis when I was four, for about two years, but then I broke my collar bone so I quit. After I turned 12, I started to play again and I really enjoy it. At the beginning of summer, I started to take it more seriously by getting private lessons once a week, and I started to go a lot more then I used to. I was going 5 times a week every week, playing 6 hours a day. Over the summer, I started to get much better. Now, I go 4 times a week every week, playing an hour and a half a day. Swimming ... • 4. Dao De Jing And Daoist Philosophy Imitating a particular action, thing, or other person first entails perception and observing. Imitation of nature to live in harmony is the basis of Daoist philosophy, which begins with observation. Having ideals and a path stems from understanding how to perceive and achieve the ideal through the path. The process of realization begins with chapters from the Dao De Jing, practicing Aikido with intent, and the connection with our environment. A major part that I observed in the Dao De Jing is the realization that Dao is significant to a harmonious life. Focusing on Dao and the passages of the Dao De Jing tie together what Daoist philosophers believe. All these things combined, brings about the principles of Daoist philosophy. Before parallels can be drawn between ideals and paths in Daoism, Daoist philosophy and Dao must be defined. It is hard to put Daoist Philosophy into a nice, neat sentence because of the complexity and vast amount of information on the subject. For the intent of this paper, Daoist philosophy is defined as a Chinese philosophy that takes a more naturalist approach to religion and way of living. It is the connection between imitating nature and harmony. Dao is defined in Chapter 1 as the constant moving everything that surrounds us. It is not tangible, it is just what it is, and you do not know exactly what this something is. Living in Harmony with everything surrounding oneself requires a realization of what is around and how to properly interact with one s surroundings. One must join an ideal and a path to achieving that ideal. Without a path, can the desired goal have the outcome that is intended? A reading from the Dao De Jing suggest no, that the path and ideal are connected and one. But first, one must learn how to perceive nature. Perceiving nature is necessary to be able to imitate it correctly. Observation of what surrounds us and how we interact with our environment. Chapter 36 of the Dao De Jing talks about the idea of perceiving and understanding one s insight. Whatever is gathered in must first be stretched out; whatever is weakened must first be made strong; whatever is abandoned must first be joined; whatever is taken away must first be given. This translates to if you ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Anatomy Of The Knee Injuries Shianne Rey Complete Tear of the ACL A torn ACL is one of the most serious and common knee injuries. Many aspects play a role in the treatment and rehabilitation of this injury. This paper will discuss the anatomy of the knee, describe a torn ACL, and the rehabilitation. The knee is a hinge joint which gives the legs mobility. The muscles and ligaments of this joint allows flexion and extension of the leg. Because the knee supports the majority of the body weight, it is at risk of overuse and traumatic injuries (France). The knee is composed of 3 major bones; the femur, tibia, and the fibula. The femur is the biggest bone in the human body, the inferior end flares out into two rounded landmarks called femoral condyles. Their name comes from the side of the body they are on, which is where we get Lateral Femoral Condyle and Media Femoral Condyle. Superiorly to these condlyes are the medial and lateral femoral epicondyles. The bones inferior to the femur are the Tibia and Fibula. The superior end of the Tibia flares out into slightly concave structures called the Tibial Plateaus. A crescent wedge shape of cartilage sits in each plateau. These are the Medial Meniscus and the Lateral Meniscus. This cartilage acts as a shock absorber and distributes forces. The menisci are bathed by the synovial fluid of the knee (France). The meniscus is what separates the each side of the Tibia and Femur and the transverse ligament connects each menisci. There is a circular bone on the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Domestic Abuse And Domestic Violence I chose to do the domestic survivors subculture I feel as if it was a great topic to focus on its going to reveal a lot of emotion. Domestic violence can happen to anyone. Domestic violence sometimes called battering is against the law. At first glance, it is hard to imagine why a victim of domestic violence would voluntarily remain in the relationship with the abuser. As you may know domestic violencedoesn t always start off as violence it starts off as in the form of love. The abuser feels as if they love the person so much that it hurts. That the abuse they inflict on the person they love is because they love and care about them. Many victims feel as if no one will believe them. There has been so many cases that have gone unanswered because no one really knows what goes on. The person being abused hides what the abuser does because they think it is something they did wrong or they think the person loves them. Domestic abuse comes in different forms it can be verbal, physical, or sexual. Domestic abuse leaves psychological scars from anxiety due to living in ongoing danger. In my essay you will get to know a lot of women that have survived domestic abuse and their stories. Meet Lisette Johnson she is a domestic abuse survivor her story started off as her husband calling her names and always talking about her after while it progressed to much more. She feared leaving him because she had two kids and she was for sure she wouldn t get full custody of them. So she stuck ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Pepicello (2016) argues that leaders are not made, they are exposed (W. Pepicello, personal communication, June 22, 2016). This is generally observed when working as a team on a project, especially in a virtual group setting where members are separated by time, distance, and communication, collaboration or getting members to fully participate in the project take more effort than in a face to face setting (Malthotra, Majchrzak Rosen, (2007). Once the group was formed, John immediately contacted group members and suggested a distance education leader to the group, Dr. William Pepicello, the former president of the University of Phoenix. He also suggested the mode of communication, (a free conference call without video) to discuss the interview questions, and a work area for the posting documents or other matter pertaining to the group. Every team member got on board. However, due to a new email system, Office 365, at Montgomery College, emails from outside the college were delayed and I was unable to receive or respond to any email coming from the group in a timely fashion during the first week. However, once my email was functional and running, I immediately communicated and collaborated with the group and was committed to playing my part. We all worked as a team and to an extent, exercised a power base of reciprocity. Each member shared the responsibility of doing his or her assigned part of the project with the expectation that each member is obligated to fulfil his or her part (Raven, 2008). Melanie had also suggested another distance education leader, Robert W. Mendenhall (President Emeritus of Western Governor s University) and had already done some research on him. • 9. Learning From A Foreign Language Learning to write in a foreign language Life is weird and unexpected. You don t know what is coming up or what is going through. You don t know what s next, but you do have choices, plans and Images of your future. I started reading and writing when I was 4, it was in Arabic and writing in Arabic doesn t have many rules. So by the age of eight, I was done with learninghow to read and write, and started my science studies. I gained some of my skills through writingin Arabic like meditation and the way of thinking, but this part of life is barely related to the kind of writer I am now, because writing in English is completely different. My first experience with reading and writing in English started when I chose to attend an out siding high schoolin another city. It was a school for top students. Joining this school was my start point with the English and academic writing. It was also my start point to be here in the US, more than 7,000 miles away from home. Looking back, if I didn t join this school, I wouldn t be able to write and read in English and I wouldn t be able to come here. So life is pretty cool about that, it s just one choice led to a very long series of events that shaped my writing skills and attitudes. Starting the high school, one the most significant series of events that shaped my writing skills, was my academic studies. When I joined the school, I was very weak in English and most of my ... • 12. Abundant Thinking On Practice Is Useful For Multiple... Abundant Thinking in Practice Abundant thinking is useful for multiple aspects of your everyday life. You can enjoy your good health and be grateful for it, and if you are suffering from some sort of ailment, you can seek comfort in the fact that it can always be worse. When sick, we can remember the good health we enjoyed throughout the past and the good health and fortune of those we care about most, being grateful for it all. It s about perspective; looking on the bright side of life and seeing the positive rather than the negatives of our respective lots in life. How can we continue to think abundantly even during hard financial times? What if you sign a business contract with someone and are somehow scammed out of your money? It s natural to mourn the loss of your money and focus on what you lack. We don t live in a perfect world, and there are people out there who take advantage of other people and are out to rip others off. Handling this situation as an abundant thinker lessens the negative impact of the hardship of life. Your intent and focus is always on the abundance of happiness in your life, which will help dispel negative feelings and negative feelings are most unhelpful. You will need to take action to resolve your situation, and your attitude can vastly improve and ease the rectification process. Remember your negative feelings can t hurt people who have wronged you. If you give in to negative feelings, you are the one robbing yourself of abundance and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When I was the age of only fourteen I received the honor of performing the musical for the first time, although I had to learn a great deal about the script for that performance, the history behind The Phantom of the Operais not clear to me. So I started my research their tied to the original piece. Phantom of the opera.com gave a timeline that had the background, explaining that the original piece was published in 1911 by Gaston Leroux. (Timeline) The author was inspired by a trip to the Paris opera house, explaining that below the Paris opera house is a lake, and that he recalled an accident in which the chandelier had fallen some years earlier. (Hall, P.16) Sparking Gaston Leroux to make the book. The book from this point was given to the hands of a movie producer making a silent film in November 1925. Andrew Lloyd Webberin May of 1984 hears about the theatre royals stage performance and then comes up with the ideal to turn the book/ play at this time into a musical. With such an increased focus on sports, the athlete s performances are put under a microscope. This puts more pressure on athletes to give a winning performance. Techniques such as mental imagery training and relaxation techniques can be used to attack problems in these areas. (McKenzie, Howe, 1997, p. 196) Marianne Miserandino s research was focused on failure, and why athletes believe that they don t accomplish their goals. She learned that starting at young age, athletes are told that failure comes from their lack of ability. This is called learned helplessness. (Miserandino, 1998, p. 287) In her study she approached this problem by splitting her subject into two groups. One group received feedback about their shooting techniques and were told that lack of effort was the reason for missed shots, not lack of ability. The other group received only feedback on their techniques. After her 4 week study was done, the group that received the positive reinforcement showed more mastery of the skills and greater improvement than their counterparts. (Miserandino, 1998 p. 286) Another study also used basketball free throws as the basis for its study. Craig Wrisberg and Mark Anshel did this study. • 16. Accidents Happen By Edgar Snyder Associates Essay Accidents Happen According to Edgar Snyder Associates, there were 2,823 motor vehicle accidents among people ages 13 to 19 years old in 2012. On a rainy day in October of 2015, when I was 18 years old I got into a car wreck while I was driving to work. Be careful when driving, you never know when an accident will happen to you. When I woke up that morning I had no idea what the day had in store for me. To start off, I had gotten up late and I was rushing through my morning routine. I needed to be at work by 8:30 am and I kept my eyes on the clock. I really did not want to be late, after all I had only just started working there a few weeks ago. When I finally had myself all ready, it was 8:20 am. It takes me fifteen minutes to get to work in Springfield from Williamsville and I knew that if I wanted to get there on time I would need to hurry. As I went outside to my car I noticed that it was sprinkling rain. I started my car and I was off. I was speeding and trying to make it through every light without stopping. All the while I was still concerned with the music I had playing, constantly changing the station. I was getting close to work now and it was about 8:27 am. I had just passed over the Sangamon River and was approaching Freedom gas station where I needed to turn left onto Dirksen Parkway. The light rain was still coming down as I got closer to the turn lane. I soon realized that quite a few cars were backed up at the light ahead of me. I started to get over into ... First three slides were prepared containing RBC s and unknown solutions A, B and C. A control slide was prepared only using RBC s. After observing each slide under the microscope it was determined that unknown solution A was hypertonic because the RBC appeared to have shrunk. The RBC in unknown solution B appeared to be swollen, therefor, the tonicity of unknown solution B was hypotonic. Unknown solution C showed no change to the RBC shape, it was suggested that unknown solution C was isotonic. To confirm the tonicity ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Cells placed in a hypertonic solution will shrink as the solvent leaves the cells. Plant cells react differently to osmosis than animal cells. When an animal cell is placed in a hypertonic solution, water will leave the cell causing it to shrink, this is known as crenation. When a plant cell is placed in a hypertonic solution the cell membrane will pull away from the cell wall, making the plant flaccid, this is known as plasmolysis. When an animal cell is placed in a hypotonic solution, water will rush in to the cell, causing it to swell and sometimes burst. • 18. Inside The Closet Skeletons in the Closet Our first experience of this old English term came about not as secrets in a person s past but in a house! Over the years, we have lived in a variety of old homes that embody the history of many families and diverse activities. Among those homes was an old three story English style rooming house in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan that was owned by the Anglican Theological College of Emmanuel and St. Chad. Shirley and I had a flat on the third floor with four single girls living above us and a single eligible theological professor/Priest below us! Not only were the upper floors busy but we also had a presence living in the basement that from time to time would enter into our community life. Special care was taken by all of us to ensure we did not have a prankster amongst us so we made sure to ascertain that the occurrences were confirmed by more than one person and that they had happened more than one time to different people. Often we would hear the horn on my bicycle give a blast at different times of the day. Something or someone had to squeeze the rubber bulb to force the air through the reed on that horn! During a small dinner party hosted by the professor, the pictures on the wall shifted on their nails, and there was no vibration on the floors from music, dancing, or any kind of enthusiastic activity! More than one person experienced someone answer a phone call to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Nursing education can be defined as a practical and theoritical training given to either student nurses or nurses with the sole aim of preparing them towards carrying out their profesional duties as nurses. Privileged communication includes conversations within the context of a protected relationship, such as that between doctor and patient, a therapist and client, an attorney and client, a husband and wife, or a priest and penitent, under common law, privilege involves a number of rules excluding evidence that would be adverse to a fundamental principle or relationship if it were disclosed Such communications are secure, reliable, and meant to be kept among the directly involved parties ( Ethicsin medical research, n.d.). confidential communication is privileged depends on the relationship between the parties and the circumstances under which the communication is made. The primary reason is to allow the patient to speak freely with a doctor who is treating him or her to ensure that the patient receives the best and fullest medical care available under the circumstances. For example, should a patient confess to a psychiatrist that he or she has committed a crime, the doctor would not be allowed to share that information or be compelled to testify against the patient, If the patient were afraid of sharing the truth for fear that it may lead to an arrest or damaging testimony at trial, the patient may not be truthful and the treatment process could become ineffective, take much longer, or lead to an incorrect diagnosis (Legal Resources, n. d).... • 22. Aspects Of The Origin Of Ma Aspects of the origin of MA Literature on management accounting origin split in to two completely different categories. One that explains the development through what is called economic approach and the second through non economic approach. Economic approach First signs of management accounting emerged as tool of cost control in early 19th century. This is when many businesses were simply made up of a group of people who specialised in certain individual areas. Production and supply of raw materials was completely separate at that time. These small businesses were therefore easy and straight forward to manage. The manufacturer would simply determine how much would materials cost and add the cost of work, which is generally evaluating the time that it takes to produce a certain good and set a monetary value. A dramatic wind of change to this was seen during the Industrial Revolution. Businesses became bigger and more complex. Perfect examples could be such as cotton textile factories in England or cotton mills in United States of America. Now instead of individual craftsmen, businesses became big hierarchical enterprises. According to Johnson and Kaplan (1987) this was the emerging point of modern management accounting. Further advancement was noticed in the 19th century: The emergence and rapid growth of railways in the mid nineteenth century was another major driving force in the development of management accounting systems. • 23. Bounded Rationality Theory I think everyone is in agreeance that there are several elements involved in criminality and why crime is ever an option. One significant reason why an individual turns to a life of crime is that of necessity. Certain people believe that they have no other alternative but to rob, steal, or lie to get what they need to survive, or to provide for their family. About the passage, The working poor. There are law abiding citizens going to work every day, and they still will not have enough to sustain a healthy lifestyle. They are the working to be poor. It refers to the idea that the human information processing restrictions place limitations on the ability to make determinations, which is not necessarily rational because of the control of the rewards. This concept is similar to the drug dealer that refuses to get more narcotics that he can sell. They are weighing the benefits received with only making enough money to buy more drugs. They do not want to increase their productivity because of the increased risk of prosecution or being victimized by other criminals. Therefore they stay within a safe zone continuing the risk of illegal activity but not receiving a substantial reward (Johnson Payne, 2016). I was also intrigued by the prospect theory, which suggests a value function that resembles the classical benefit in the outcomes related to targets. Also, a criminal will avoid risk when they are associated with receiving gains, but will, however, take a chance or risk to avoid losses. Then finally in the prospect theory the losses massively outnumber the gains, therefore becoming more impactful and overpowering the rewards. If you prefer more recently made movies, there are many great movies that made it onto my list from the 90s and 2000s. These are some of my favorite holiday movies that I watched every year since I could understand the English language and that I still thoroughly enjoy today. #10 A Christmas Carol (2009) This Disney animated movie is the newest version of the 1938 movie, A Christmas Carol. The famous actor, Jim Carrey, voices Ebenezer Scrooge . Disney did a perfect job of following the original storyline with Scrooge, the three ghosts, and all the other actors. This very exciting film is also very popular in 3D. Because this film is directed by Robert Zemeckis, it is a fantastic remake of an old, loved, holiday classic, yet some people still prefer the 1984 version. #9 A Christmas Carol (1984) This Christmas movie is a version of Charles Dickenss famous 1800s play and book, A Christmas Carol. • 33. The Acts Of The Christian Movement Essay The story of the Acts details the growth of the Christian movement from a small group of dedicated followers into a multi ethnic, international movement. As quoted by The Bible Project, [Acts] is a story about Jesus leading his people by the spirit to go out into the world and invite all nations to live under his reign (Mackie Acts Ch. 1 12. ). Traditionally this book has been called the Acts of the Apostles because it describes the apostles deeds in spreading Jesusmessage. As Paul and Peter journey through the ancient world they bring with them the word of God. Sinners, gentiles, and persecutors alike are invited to join the movement and seek salvation. In Acts, Luke details the growth of the Christian movement and attributes that growth to the power of Jesus and his message of welcome which invites an ethnically and geographically diverse followership. The story begins in Jerusalem where the risen Jesus Christ describes God s kingdom to his disciples and instructs them to carry the message of His kingdom to the ends of the earth. The disciples begin during the Festival of the Pentacost at which Jewish pilgrims from all over the ancient world have gathered. Thousands of these pilgrims receive God s message and accept his calling to create communities of generosity and worship. Before the disciples leave Jerusalem, they are preaching to a mostly Jewish crowd. As such, their persuasive methods are generally geared to the Jewish tradition. First, the disciples claim ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Light banter continued as the three moved down the hallway to a small conference room. Well, great news, Tom! DEP has the contract again! O Leary paused, then continued, But there s going to be a slight modification. Instead of the traditional 2 year contract we re only going to offer a 1 year deal. Nothing personal, just that management feels it s only fair to Richard that these last contracts I negotiate be limited to a year. That way he doesn t get locked into any deals that might make him look bad! O Leary roared with laughter at his last comment. It is certainly no reflection on DEP, Richard interjected. It simply gives me a chance to evaluate suppliers in the coming year without being locked into a long term contract. If my evaluation concurs with what Mr. O Leary has told me about DEP I see no reason that our successful relationship won t continue. Entirely understandable, replied Tom as his mind pondered the meaning of Binish s evaluation. I m confident you ll find DEP s service and product every bit as good as Mike has told you. Following the meeting O Leary invited Lippet to join him for a cup of coffee in GARD s lunchroom. Binish excused himself, saying he had other matters to attend to. As they enjoyed their coffee, O Leary sighed. You ll be seeing some changes coming, Tom. The best I could do was get you a year. I m not sure I understand. As far as I know GARD s ... • 42. The Ethics Of The Ethical Systems The Ethical Systems In ethics, four systems serve as different beliefs concerning our morals: Relativism Ethics, Consequentialism Ethics, Deontological Ethics, and Virtue Ethics. These four theories attempt to define what right and wrong should be and how one should handle any situation. There are many strengths and weaknesses of each view. The goal is to determine which theory is the best by exploring real world situations and questioning the claims that just don t work out. RELATIVISM ETHICS There are two different types of relativistic views: Cultural Relativism and Subjectivism. Cultural Relativism is the belief that culture defines what is right and wrong. Subjectivism is the belief that the individual person decides what is right and wrong. Many pros and cons exist with an overall relativistic view. First, the positive: Someone with this view will obviously be very tolerant and is not likely to discriminate against a different culture or person. Also, morality depends on a social experience, instead of being derived from a higher being, morality is derived from the surrounding people. It is good to know the diversity and experience the many aspects of the world. Although this might sound like a perfect world for everyone to be tolerant and understanding of one another, there are many flaws to this theory. One flaw is that with this way of thinking, justice cannot exist. If someone committed murder, they cannot be punished because they believe murder is right, which ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Reflection For Classroom Learning To learn this week s material, answer the discussion post, program the programming assignment, and get a good grade on the self quiz, I studied the learning material for almost 6 hours a day. I find if fun to sit down with the learning material, which was chapters one and two, and take notes during all my free time. My reactions to the learning material chapters one and two are so much information, that I didn t have enough time to read the optional learning material, or watch the optional video lectures. Chapters one and two are more than 100 pages of reading material; however, I did have time to read the NetBeans tutorials. I m still waiting for feedback to my discussion posts. I may have gotten my discussion post done early. There were only 3 or four other discussion posts posted previous to me entering in my discussion response in the discussion forum. However, I gave these three other students responses posts to their discussion posts, where I gave good grades for using learning material vocabulary and learning material insight to what the definitions of four operators are( ++ , != , , and %= ). I m a little dis heartened right now. The reason for my discouragement is my computer may have a glitch. Certain mathematical operations are fouled up by some malicious code, and when I multiply variables by 10 (in Netbeans and other IDEs), I get erroneous decimal places added onto my figures. This week, I learned how to setup NetBeans, how to discern basic fundemental programming blocks of java, how to setup java variables, how to control the flow of execution with branches and loops, how to test for conditions with operators, how to build classes, how to use installed classes like String and Math, how to use installed subroutines with string and Math, what the size of primitive data types are(short, int, long, float, double, char, and ), how to use enums, etc. ...almost too much to list in one paragraph, here. What causes me to wonder is the built in methods of the String function, the built in methods of the Math library, and string formatting options. A story of adventure, mystery, and the honest against the malevolent... the book series The Castaways of the Flying Dutchman had all of this. Brian Jacques wrote the series, with the first book published in 2001 and the last one in 2006, spanning over a three book series. The first one is the one that named the series, the second book called The Angel s Command, and the author named the final installment The Voyage of Slaves. As previously stated, the legend this uses features the ghost ship The Flying Dutchman, a name that people have used over and over again. Although Jacques changed parts of the legend a bit to fit the series, it introduces the reader to a whole new world of stories. Adapting a legend adds a whole new depth to the story, as it makes the narrative so appealing. Personally, I had never heard of this legend before, but the first novel actually made me want to learn more about that time period and the legends mariners would tell of the mysteries of the sea. Known for his skill in writing the Redwall books, Brian Jacques carried this style over into the Castaways series. He uses vivid figurative language, exquisite vocabulary, exceptional dialogue techniques, and creates memorable characters all throughout the whole series. In The Angel s Command, the very first sentence of the book reads, Great and golden, like an enormous, newly minted doubloon, the Caribbean sun presided over the waterfront. From merely the first sentence, the reader can see how amazing Jacques writes, using similes and excellent vocabulary. Yet he doesn t write with words that no one can even read, let alone understand. Jacques does a fine job writing with words that are the slightest bit complex that it increases the reader s vocabulary, yet they know what they are reading. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A Good Example Of Mr. Johnson s First Amendment Rights In the year 1984 1989 there was a case that struck America and shows a very good example to having your first amendment rights, not everyone will necessarily agree with this but this is how Mr. Johnson took his actions against the supreme court. This case is based on Mr. Johnson feeling violated against his first amendment right and standing up for himself and burning the American flag. Many patriotic people would completely disagree with this but, in our first amendment we have the freedom of speech and freedom of expression. Leading Mr. Johnson to this case because the American flag is supposed to represent our country and our freedom. Gregory Lee Johnson burned an American flag outside of the convention center where the 1984 Republican National Convention was being held in Dallas, Texas. Johnson burned the flag to protest the policies of President Ronald Reagan. He was arrested and charged with violating a Texas statute that prevented the desecration of a venerated object, including the American flag, if such action were likely to incite anger in others. A Texas court tried and convicted Johnson. He appealed, arguing that his actions were symbolic speech protected by the First Amendment. Today, artists affected by the social context and personal experiences reproduce pieces of art that question or make a point about controversial issues in our society. A great example is the painting created in 2006 called Great Detonators ( Grandes Detonadores ) by the Mexican artist Acamonchi. The painting is located in the exhibition The Very large Array: San Diego/ Tijuana Artist in the Peter C. Farrell Gallery inside the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (MCA). Acamonchi s piece is a collage painting integrated by posters, stencils, and graffiti, which illustrate an obvious inspiration by the street art style. It is composed of cold colors such as blue, green, and aqua. Its multiple media consist of spray, paper, tape, acrylic, and oil. Moreover, the gallery is presented in big white walls and it has natural and artificial white light. The surface texture of the piece is a combination of corrugated, flat and in some parts smooth. The size is about 8 feet wide and 8 feet long, the condition is excellent, and the frame is made of wood. Furthermore, the painting the Great Detonators conveys ideas about mass produced waste, political awareness and urban chaos. Consequently, the artist Acamonchi uses this piece of art to express his opinion about important issues today during our contemporary times. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Alcohol would no longer be perceived as a forbidden fruit III. CONCLUSION In conclusion, the current law setting the minimum drinking age at 21 has failed in its effort to keep America s young people safe from the dangerous aspects of alcohol consumption. In addition to being ineffective, the law impinges upon the rights of individuals to partake in activities which are otherwise pervasive in today s American social culture. Though those who are 18 years old are considered adults in nearly all facets of the law, including voting rights and the ability to join the military, they are still treated as minors when it comes to drinking. If an 18 year old is old enough to make those important decisions, then he or she is certainly old enough to decide whether or not he or she is ready to consume alcohol. Because of the current laws, young men and women are compelled to furtively experiment with alcohol. Rather than beginning their drinking experiences under the supervision of responsible adults, the young people do so in secret, because the laws and the culture they have created refuse to allow them to explore their natural curiosities. By lowering the drinking age, the U.S. can begin to raise more responsible drinkers, who will not be as prone to alcohol abuse or addiction as today s Americans are. Thank you. IV. BIBLIOGRAPHY 1.
