Cause Of Mass Shootings
As most people already know in this year alone two of the biggest mass shootings in the United States
history. The two shootings that are explained are the shooting in Las Vegas, which killed 58 and
wounded 515 and the shooting in Texas which killed 26 and injured 20. You can also look at the
Orlando Florida shooting last year which killed 49 and had 58 wounded (Linnane). Shootings in
America have become more and more frequent, and it seems to some people that nowhere is safe. The
examples given were at a concert, a bar and a church. It seems that no matter where you go there is
now a risk of your life. Just imagine being in the shoes of someone who was in the Vegas attack.
Thinking that they will have a fun time when all of a sudden you see someone next to you drop dead
because someone has started to open fire. Everyone is in a panic trying to get to cover. You witness
people praying that they won t get shot as everyone piles up. How did this occur? Why are these
shootings becoming so common? Why do these horrible situations keep on occurring? Well, due to the
amount of guns in America, the lack of Mental Health Care, and the ease of obtaining a weapon, mass
shootings are increasing with more lives being lost.
It seems that one major reason for the mass shootings is the astronomical number of guns in America.
Max Fisher and Josh Keller state in a newspaper for New York Times says that America has 4.4
percent of the world s population, but has 42 percent of the world s

Hamlet and The Spanish Tragedy
The parallels shown between Hamlet and The Spanish Tragedy demonstrate the influence Kyd s play
had on Shakespeare. The similarities can be seen throughout the plot lines and context of both plays.
While using the plays as different tools, both are used for expediting revenge. Shakespeare, through
the impact of Kyd s play, established and perfected an ideal plot for a play expressing revengeful
tragedy. The actions and thoughts that Hamlet shows greatly displays many characteristics from The
Spanish Tragedy. Hamlet models himself after Hieronimo in the way he approaches revenge.
However, Hamlet wants his victims to suffer not only on earth but in the afterlife. Kyd and
Shakespeare utilize both meta theaters to exact revenge and reveal guilt. The intention of a play within
a play by Kyd is used for the format of Hieronimo s death. It varies from that of Hamlet in layout and
context. Hamlet plans precisely how he will avenge his father s death and when he will strike. Hamlet
exclaims, When he is...about some act/ That has no relish of salvation in t / Then trip him...And that
his soul may be damned and black/ As hell (Shakespeare III.iv.94 100). Killing Claudius in a sinful
state will satisfy him, his father, and affect him by suffering in the afterlife as well. Hieronimo also
plots his revenge, but is solely concerned with achieve earthly revenge. The Spanish Tragedy includes
a play that is longer in duration than that of Hamlet. Kyd does this to allow the audience to

It’s hard to argue that 1994 didn’t have two of the most...
It s hard to argue that 1994 didn t have two of the most influential and iconic movies to date. Both
Pulp Fiction and Forrest Gump are movies that some would say are the best ever. Now, if you were to
compare these two movies, it would seem absurd with each being on completely opposite spectrums
of the moral ethics scale. However, on the surface Pulp Fiction may seem like another gangster,
action, crime flick, but if a closer look is taken and the content really analyzed it can be seen that Pulp
Fiction is really about redemption and how the characters seem to find it regardless of their actions.
Through each separate story that Pulp Fiction tells, redemption runs at the core of the dynamic
characters. If you aren t familiar with Pulp ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

John Stuart Mill s On Liberty And Utilitarianism Essay
This essay examines and inspects liberty and order conflict based on the writings of philosopher John
Stuart Mill, titled On Liberty and Utilitarianism. We will discuss how his philosophical views on
equality as fundamental to what it means to be human. We will interpret John Stuart Mill s theorist
view on equality as fundamental to the good or bad functioning of the state? The question and debate
we would also raise will be, is equality be integral the arrangements of power? Lastly, we would argue
the theorist s approach to liberty fundamentally influenced the way we view equality in the 21st
century. In John Stuart Mill works of On Liberty, the piece focuses and concerns common and social
freedom or, to take a gander at it from the opposite perspective, the nature and points of confinement
of the power that can honest to goodness be practiced by society over the person. In John Stuart Mill
works of Utilitarianism, it offers a possibility for a first standard of ethical quality, a rule that gives us
a model recognizing good and bad. The utilitarian applicant is the guideline of utility. We will convey
works from both pieces and examine his theoretical/ philosophical values of equality. Despite the fact
that all may have concurred that an activity s results for the general satisfaction and happiness were to
direct its rightness or misleading quality, the explanations for the acknowledgment of that guideline
and the utilizations to which the rule was put changed

The stats show that 23% of African Americans who were raised in a middle class family were able to

showed the american dream through their lives. Literary review s provide similarities and defines
differences in analysis. In my research, on the concept of The American dream through generations, I
have come to understand the concepts with a feminist perspective. Part of Sociology deals with gender
inequality, race, age, and class and though my research, I explored options of inequality through
gender and how each factor interacts with each other. From a feminist perspective, one emphasizes
women, their experiences, and their role in society while promoting equality in gender. Cultural
aspects and generational stereotypes are also addressed. Not only does this perspective deal with
females, but also with male roles in society, how to explain social differences between genders, and
gender oppression. Other questions feminist look at are how do men and women s values differ and
how men and women perspectives change in

Explain The Four Levels Of Protection
The EPA has determined four levels of protection. The four levels of protection used during spill
response and cleanup activities are Level A, Level B, Level C and Level D protection.
Level A protection is required when the greatest potential for exposure to hazards exists for skin,
respiratory, and eye protection. The personal protective equipment (PPE) must be gas tight, vapor tight
and splash resistant and it should be worn when there is a possible threat to life and health, or during
operations dealing with an unknown hazard, such as during spill response and cleanup. For example
during spill response and cleanup activities totally encapsulated chemical and vapour protective suits

The Government Is A System Of The Dual Federalism
Federalism has numerous levels of government in which each of them have their own self governing
authority over some of the policy areas. It helps in balancing the power between the national and
subunit governments. Various forms of the government are being observed internationally, including
the confederation and unitary government. The Confederal government was the very first form of
government the United States had that is held under the Articles of Confederation; in which the states
hold the authority over a limited national government. The most common form of government
throughout the world is the unitary government in which the national and centralized government
holds the ultimate authority. If there was no form of federal government, each individual state would
face problems that may affect multiple states. This would lead a central government to come up with a
mutual solution that would be beneficial to all the states across the nation or to the ones that need it
most. Some scholars believe that the American government is a system of the dual federalism. This
simply means that the national and state governments have control over unique spheres of policy.
Others believe it to be a shared or cooperative federalism in which means that both the governments
work together in all areas of the policy, or supply their services to the citizens. The balance of power
between the states and the federal government of the United States constantly shifts back and forth

1. What challenges confronted BAL and which were of its own making?
In 1980s, the government s impact was the most challenging factor confronting BAL. It witnessed an
increase in both foreign and domestic competitors because of the Indian government s permission of
foreign technology and local manufacturing capacity expansion. Accordingly, Japanese products were
more preferred than domestic brands due to its durability and eye catching design. Apart from
Yamaha, Suzuki, and Piaggio, Honda who took out the major market share of BAL scooter and
motorcycle segments was its fiercest rival.

They had found that this target market predominantly valued the purchasing maintenance cost and the
low fuel consumption. BAL also penetrated secondary market to buy BAL s used vehicles with higher
price.
In order to match consumers want, BAL reorganized its structure to obtain better cross functional
cooperation among Marketing, R D and Production departments. New products were introduced
periodically and spare parts were sold nation wide with low cost, which reinforced BAL s
competitiveness. Beside strengthening cost advantage, they established a technology acquisition
agreement with Orbital, which provided solutions to improve fuel efficiency and decrease emission
levels.
In order to enhance the competency in distribution, BAL connected with private transport companies
and trained dealers staff to improve their technical capability. BAL also supported their dealers in
planning sales targets for specific products, services and advertising. Regarding developing dealer
network, regional depots were built up to quicken inventory turnover and supply a full range of two
and three wheelers, hence encouraging dealer loyalty.
In addition, BAL provided customers with consumer finance to purchase vehicles by establishing the
Bajaj Auto Finance Ltd. Finally, BAL executives invested more in Marketing Department to secure
brand awareness and preference as well as to introduce new vehicles. BAL not only broadcast their

U.s. History And American History
US HISTORY
FINAL PAPER
Throughout the history of the United States from the 1500 s to 1865 a number of enduring motifs
played out that shaped the future of the country. This is the place in time where the origins of racist
ideologies can be traced back to the introduction of slavery to the American agricultural system in
order to justify its malicious immorality. The 1500 s also saw the infancy of the specialization of the
different regional economies of America to capitalize on what was closely available and abundant, and
scarce and needed in another region; and by the 1860 s those regional economies had developed into
behemoths that exported their products on large scales, not only domestically but internationally as
well. But the most important theme of U.S. history from the 1500 s to 1865 was expansion, from
Europe to colonial America, and then the westward expansion of the United States. I believe the theme
of expansion is so integral to American history because it incorporates elements of the previous two
themes (racism and racist ideologies, and specialized regional development) into it; the European
colonial expansion is where the regional economies and values where first developed and still exist, in
some aspects, to this day. This theme is also so important because the differing opinions on how to
carry out the westward expansion of the United States, specifically whether the new states would slave
states or free states, eventually became so contentious and

Oticon Change Management
How was the resistance to change overcome by Oticon? Change is generating resistance and that can
be attributed to different factors (Buchanan amp; Huczynski 2004). What is important is how a
company can handle and overcome the resistance to change in order to accomplish this difficult
process. It has to be mentioned that, at a certain moment in time, different parts of the same
organisation can be at different stages of the change. There are five main stages addressed by each
individual that goes through a change process: Denial Anger Bargaining Depression Acceptance The
timeline of the Oticon change did last for 6 years, until positive results reported in 1994. After 2 years

Burns listed many definitions of organisational culture, and a more simplistic and reductionist one is:
Culture is how things are done around here (Burnes 2004 p.170). The change in Oticon can be seen as
a Re Creation or Corporate transformation i.e. frame breaking or discontinuous change that impacts
the whole organisation. This means the culture in the organisation will have to change to enable
sustainability of the competitive edge. This is the reason why all things reminding of the past and the
old culture had to disappear. Burke and Litwin (1992) consider that a transformational change
involves a paradigm shift, and completely new behaviours. Instead of changes designed to help the
organisation do things better (incremental change) the organisation needs to do things differently or do
different things (Hayes 2007 p.121). There are four main pillars to success in this type of cultural
change (The Denison Model): * Consistency * Mission * Involvement * Adaptability Lars Kolind
used those 4 main streams in the processes of build, implement, develop and communicate this vision.
Stakeholders were also involved in the in the process as he needed their support in adapting the
company to better respond to market requests. References BUCHANAN, D. and HUCZYNSKI, A.,

Luciferianism In Illuminati
To proceed with, Illuminati really has a religion , more known as a conviction framework, called
Luciferianism or Illuminism. Luciferianism roots from the word Lucifer, which is referred to by
numerous as Satan, the dull leader of the underworld. During the time spent completely understanding
the thinking for utilizing such a dim ruler as a name of a religion, one must first comprehend the
history. In the Bible, a story is told about Lucifer, the most elevated of the heavenly attendants; yet, he
was not fulfilled, and needed more. He needed to supplant God and endeavored creating so as to do
this the first resistance to him. God immediately exiled Lucifer from Heaven and sent him, alongside
one thirds of all blessed messengers away to the underworld. Lucifer, once the great blessed
messenger of light got to be Satan, abhorrent holy messenger of dimness (The New Oxford Annotated
Bible, Luke 10:18). This story clarifies how Illuminati needs the same Lucifer did, the most power
conceivable, which gave them the thought to utilize Luciferianism as their convictions name.

James Bond Personality Traits
James Bond has been around since 1962, and 26 movies later, his image is still going strong of the
extremely handsome and covert agent that saves the day, and always gets a pretty lady/Bond Girl, at
some point of the movie, to himself. Skyfall incorporated all these traits that make 007 (another name
James Bond goes by) who he is. Skyfall is a Bond movie that describes his comeback to MI6 (his
secret agency) after being off the radar for a long amount of time. Bond shows the usual Bond traits in
this movie, but at the start, he needs to brush off the dust and get back into the hunt. And of course he

of the fight and being the target, even M s entire character changes from a women that was always a

changes though when the villain is staring her in the face with a gun pointed to her head. M knew right
there she was powerless to what happened next. Only one person in Skyfall has the power to save her,
and that is her ace in the hole 007. After a shootout at the court house, Bond and M are going to go to
the one place Bond knows better than his enemy, and that is home. On the way there, M says Too
many people are dying because of me, showing that she truly leave the situation in Bond s hands
because she would never say something like this if she could find her own way out. This speaks to the
masculinity and power Bond has in these situations. At Skyfall, even then you see a male dominated
fighting plan, as Bond and his housekeeper are both equipped with shot guns while M is given
equipped with any resources she can find. When then fight begins M kills two people total and Bond s
housekeeper kills four, with Bond mowing down the rest. Bond even completely exploded the house
after the three had gotten out (nothing is more masculine than an explosion). In the closing of this
fight scene, M is given an opportunity to kill the villain, but she couldn t find it in herself to pull the
trigger. Bond will throw a knife dead center of the villains back to kill the villain taking control of the
situation. M, unfortunately, is overused to the

The hydrolysis of aspirin in the absence and presence of rabbit serum
Results
In both saline and rabbit serum solutions, as the aspirin concentration increased, the salicylic acid
concentration also increased. However, the salicylic acid concentration achieved in the saline solution
at increasing concentrations of aspirin was not equivalent to the increase attained in the rabbit serum.
In serum solution, the amount of salicylic acid metabolized from aspirin was always at least double
that achieved by the saline at the comparable aspirin concentration (x3.375, x2.96, and x2.67 at aspirin
concentrations 0.36mg/ml, 0.9mg/ml, and 1.8mg/ml, respectively; Figure 1). Furthermore, these

Regarding distribution of the hydrolases involved, the major contributors to aspirin hydrolysis activity
outside of plasma are human CES 2 in the intestine and human CES 1 in the liver. In plasma, aspirin is
hydrolysed by BChE, PON, and albumin.
In rabbit plasma, there is a distinctly high concentration of CES, seemingly due to the low expression
of BChE, indicating an inverse relationship between CES and BChE levels (Bahar and Imai, 2013).
PON and BChE expression in all species are ubiquitous, with especially high expression in primates
(Bahar et al., 2012).
In humans, it is estimated that, for aspirin hydrolysis in plasma, BChE is approximately 30%
responsible for activity, and has low and high affinity binding sites for calcium and/or magnesium
(Bahar and Imai, 2013). PON is approximately 50% accountable, requiring calcium for substrate
hydrolysis, and albumin is 16%, acting as a plasma carrier protein by binding, and shows esterase like
activity. In rabbits, CES, due to its extensive hydrolytic ability (Bahar et al., 2012), makes it the
primary contributor to aspirin hydrolysis in rabbit plasma (Bahar and Imai, 2013).
Figure 1 consequently proves the presence of hydrolases most likely CES in the tested rabbit serum
solution. It was an effective medium in which aspirin hydrolysis could

The Meaning Of The Word In English Literature
During literature class, where we read narrative that goes from the middle ages to the present, I noted
that in many writings, several words appeared constantly in different stories from different authors
that nowadays, are less used or uncommon. Including bosom , alas , nay , gay . Where bosom was
used to refer to the chest as the seat of emotions. Alas used an exclamation to express sorrow, grief,
pity, or concern. These words were commonly used in the Middle English 1225 75. Nay is a denial or
refusal that was substituted simply for no . However, the word that had an even more drastic change of
its meaning was gay .
This project analyzes and investigates how common this word was in the English narrative. A
hypothesis will be created of the reasons why its meaning may have changed. An example of its use in
literature will be presented through different periods of time with different authors. At the beginning,
according to the Oxford dictionary and the website dictionary.com, gay evolved from given to or
abounding in social or other pleasures; bright or show; having or showing a merry, lively mood. To ,
in a certain period of time, changed drastically to mean sexually unrestrained or having loose morals.
Turned to be an offensive synonymous for awkward, stupid, bad or lame. At the end, nowadays is
relating to, or exhibiting sexual desire or behavior directed toward a person or persons of one s own
sex; homosexual.
Hypothesis: Originally, the word gay

Gardner Versus Traditional Teaching Methods Rhetorical...
Gardner vs Traditional Teaching Methods Mr. Gardner expresses the theory that students should first
learn how to understand a few important subjects and be able to decipher unique situations rather than
just memorize facts for standardized tests. He builds his argument eloquently using mainly logos and
ethos as his persuasive methods. He uses logos by making the reader think logically and digest not
only his opinion, but the opinion of other experts. As for ethos, Mr. Gardner impresses upon the reader
that he has a wealth of knowledge and an extensive background in the subject of education.
Professor Gardner presents logos by quoting psychologists and educators, usage of historical analysis,
and real world examples. This forces the reader to think about their own experiences and how they
were taught and what teaching style would be best for their own children or themselves. He believes
that students should learn to appreciate multiple perspectives about a subject and rid themselves of
their simplistic misconceptions (Gardner 634). However, wiping the mental slate clean he says, is not
a simple task and he furthers his point using logos in paraphrasing Lauren Resnick , disconfirming

Precision And Accuracy Lab Report
Determining the Density of a Polystyrene Sphere with Precision and Accuracy
Abstract: The objective of the lab is to determine the volumes of the polystyrene spheres with three
different measuring tools: Water Displacement, Analytical Scale, and Triple Beam Balance Scale. The
experiment is meant to help understand the concept and application of precision and accuracy in
experimental measurements. Accuracy is a measure of how closely the results of repeated
measurements are to the true value of what is being measured. Precision is the variability in the results
from the repeated measurements, and how close the repeated measurements were to one another. In
this lab, the method for measuring the volume of the polystyrene spheres is done with the previously
stated tools: Water Displacement, Analytical Scale, and Triple Beam Balance Scale. The standard
deviation for the entire classes volumes and masses are recorded to determine the densities.
Introduction: Accuracy and precision were the major aspects of the lab. Accuracy is how close the
average of the measured values are to the actual value. Precision is the closeness of repeated
measurements. In the lab, the aim was to get as close as possible with both accuracy and precision
when determining the mass and volume of the spheres. The mass was determined by weighing the
spheres on the Analytical Scale and Triple Beam Balance Scale. The volume is determined by
measuring with a ruler and by water displacement. The standard

Bats, balls and Frisbees are readily available for the children to use to develop their throwing, catching
and kicking skills, as well as hand eye co ordination, social skills and problem solving skills. Another
activity which is encouraged is bubble play developing the children s early catching and hand eye co
ordination skills and allowing the children to run around after the bubbles. Craft activities are
regularly set up within this outdoor area. On sunny days water is used for the children to paint with
and observe the sun evaporating the pictures. Chalks are also used for the children to use their early
mark making and emergent writing skills on the paving slabs. Spray painting is another activity used
in the outdoor area using small trigger spray bottles with watery paint inside. Large pieces of paper are
stuck to the walls and fences for the children to observe the effects of the spray on the paper. There are
also moveable sand and water trays for the children to use their manipulation and sensory skills within
both the indoor and outdoor areas. During dry sunny weather paddling pools are set up for the children
to enjoy getting wet and splashing in. The children learn turn taking skills and social skills during this
type of activity. Also during dry spells the parachute is used in this area to encourage listening skills
and skills such as shaking, moving, taking turns, lifting and lowering

Eiffel Tower
The Eiffel Tower is a puddle iron lattice tower located on the Champ de Marsin Paris. Built in 1889, it
has become both a global cultural icon of France and one of the most recognizable structures in the
world. The tower is the tallest building in Paris and the most visited paid monument in the world;
millions of people ascend it every year. Named after its designer, engineer Gustave Eiffel, the tower
was built as the entrance arch to the 1889 World s Fair.
The tower stands 324 metres tall, about the same height as an 81 storey building. During its
construction, the Eiffel Tower surpassed theWashington Monument to assume the title of the tallest
man made structure in the world, a title it held for 41 years, until the Chrysler Building in ... Show

The tower was much criticized by the public when it was built, with many calling it an eyesore.
Newspapers of the day were filled with angry letters from the arts community of Paris. The pig iron
structure of the Eiffel Tower weighs 7,300 tones, while the entire structure, including non metal
components, is approximately 10,000 tones. As a demonstration of the economy of design, if the 7,300
tones of the metal structure were melted down it would fill the 125 metre square base to a depth of
only 6 cm, assuming the density of the metal to be 7.8 tones per cubic meter. Depending on the
ambient temperature, the top of the tower may shift away from the sun by up to 18 cm because of
thermal expansion of the metal on the side facing the sun.
Maintenance of the tower includes applying 50 to 60 tones of paint every seven years to protect it
from rust. The height of the Eiffel Tower varies by 15 cm due to temperature. In order to maintain a
uniform appearance to an observer on the ground, three separate colors of paint are used on the tower,
with the darkest on the bottom and the lightest at the top. On occasion the color of the paint is
changed; the tower is currently painted a shade of bronze. On the first floor there are interactive
consoles hosting a poll for the color to use for a future session of painting. The only non structural
elements are the four decorative grillwork arches, added in Stephen Sauvestre s sketches,

The Message of Hate in Babi Yar Essay
The Message of Hate in Yevgeny Yevtushenko s Babi Yar
There are very few people in the world who are willing to go against the popular trends and do what
they feel in their hearts is correct. But Yevgeny Yevtushenko is one of those people. In his poem Babi
Yar, he tells the story of the modern persecution of the Jews, focusing on atrocities like those of the
massacre at Babi Yar and the pogroms at Beilostok, and also the general anti Semitism that killed men
like Dreyfus and pervades the entire Russian people. The poem uses many literary devices, such as
graphic imagery and contrasts, while painting a very clear picture of the scenes of pure horror.
Babi Yar is written in many different voices, all of which, however, have ... Show more content on

He says that he too must be a Jew for he is afraid of what his people and his society have become.
Many years ago, in the ancient days, it would not be such a shock to see the Jews enslaved in Egypt or
crucified as a means of torture and death, but even in modern times the same things are going on he
still has the marks from where the nails pierced him. The author has used classical examples of Jewish
persecution which every one knows is gone in the physical sense, but show how they still exist in the
theoretical aspect, as the persecution is still occurring.
In the next three stanzas, the poem takes the standpoint of three figures whose stories are pertinent
examples of what Yevtushenko is trying to rely in this poem. First the voice of Dreyfus is used, and
the stanza describes how horribly and unfairly he was treated, and how the country and its leaders
turned their backs on him.
There are two important literary devices used in this section. First the author puts the word pettiness
on a line by itself. This is used as a declaration of what the author feels anti Semitism is based on. It is
because of pettiness that Dreyfus was accused and further because of pettiness that he was not
pardoned when it was proven that he had not committed any crime. The next important device is the
description of ladies with their umbrellas. This is an image to the wealthy

Western Culture And Policies That Have Shaped The Modern...
Western culture and policies have shaped the modern world, especially the Middle East, in many
ways. Since the sixteenth century, the nations of Western civilization have been the driving wheels of
modernization. Globalization is simply the spread of modern institutions and ideas from one high
power to the wider world. Technological innovation and economic growth along with such concepts as
democracy, individualism, and the rule of law administered by an impartial judiciary, set Western
societies above and beyond any possible rival. Other cultures looked to the West as a model, a threat,
or some combination of both. One country that was most successful in their confrontations with
Western states was Japan, who incorporated Western ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rather, the cultural identity of a society expresses its fundamental self understanding that constitutes
the values of the people. In establishing religions people were looking for constitutional values.
Religion became a cultural value to certain societies. For example, look at the Western political
culture. It has been shaped by Greek philosophy, Roman law, feudalism, and the Renaissance. Western
culture also has been shaped a great deal by Christianity, Judaism and by Islam. Much of the Middle
East experienced centuries of Ottoman rule, generally from the mid sixteenth century up until the
declining years of the nineteenth century. The Ottomans hold on the Middle East was often tenuous
and frequently interrupted. Perhaps the biggest relic of British rule was the institution of monarchy,
which they secured in almost all the lands they ruled. Nevertheless, the powerful forces uniting the
Middle East have at times also been sources of division and conflict. In many historical episodes
subtle differences in dialect or ethnic identity have served as powerful catalysts for the communication
of national or sub national loyalties. The Middle East is far from monumental and homogenous. Its
differences have been a source of both strength and inspiration. The most visible, most pervasive, and
the least recognized aspects of

Sexual Harassment on The Office
The Office was an NBC Mockumentary that for nine years followed the day to day operations of a
mid range paper supply company called Dunder Mifflin. The office manager was an eccentric, at times
wildly misunderstood man named Michael Scott. Throughout his time as office manager, Michael led
his employees through the gamut of human emotions. In some situations, in the real world, many of
the situations that Michael found himself in may have ended with him on the receiving end of a
lawsuit. Michael had a particularly challenging time resisting the urge to sexually harass his
employees, not just the female employees, but the male ones as well. Due to the numerous
inappropriate incidences that Michael caused in his own office, I feel strongly that Michael Scott was
not fit to be the office manager at Dunder Mifflin. Sexual Harassment is any repeated unwanted
behavior of a sexual nature perpetrated by one person upon another. Workplace sexual harassment is a
topic that has been discussed in depth over the past six decades. The Civil Rights act of 1964 saw the
beginning of the end for the normalization of sexual harassment in the workplace. The United States
Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has allowed for strict penalties for those found guilty of
workplace sexual harassment, punishments range from probation to termination. In todays climate,
workplace sexual harassment is something that employers take very seriously. According to a Catalyst
Workplace poll, 46 percent

Mouthwash Experiment
My purpose of the experiment is to test what mouthwash will kill the most oral bacteria or prevent the
most oral bacteria. What I want to know from this experiment is what kind of mouthwash will prevent
the most bacteria and if its wort the money. I choose this topic to see what product will help me
maintain the good oral health.
For this experiment I ran two test on Listerine and crest mouthwash. The first test is to tell us if either
brand of mouthwash will kill any oral bacteria. Second test is to see if any mouthwash will prevent
oral bacteria from growing. This approach will answer my question and will full fill my purpose of

If sterilization was not used in my experiment the results would be inaccurate. This would be caused
by having additional bacteria on plates that was not oral bacteria. The additional bacteria is from
contamination of other types of bacteria on tools I used came in contact with. Using sterilization I was
able to kill other types of bacteria that was on the tools before I used them on my bacteria. Using clean
tools you can have more precise results on how well my mouthwashes worked.
Alcohol is a chemical that is used as an antiseptic and a disinfectant. Alcohol works by denaturing
proteins, that start cell metabolism, by messing with metabolism. Alcohol is used in one of my
mouthwashes as an antiseptic. This was an important ingredient in my experiment because this was
going to tell me if alcohol mattered. Crest the mouthwash that had no alcohol in it did not show the
same results as Listerine. Listerine showed excellent results when it came to preventing oral bacteria
and Crest wasn t able to prevent as much

A Research Study On Health
Abstract Health is the most important part of the existence, and is in today s age the most critical,
costly and time consuming area. People want to safeguard their health and take all the necessary
precautions all by themselves, moving to the healthcare facilities only at dire need. A leading
technology paradigm is the use of biosensors in quantifying the biological and physiological
parameters and transferring the result to a GUI for health monitoring without the assistance of any
healthcare personal. These biosensor enabled devices are becoming very popular in the masses as they
can themselves monitor their health. Biosensors coupled with the wireless technology offer pervasive
ubiquitous remote health monitoring and being extremely small enhances the user s mobility with
simultaneous monitoring. The work has discussed the biosensor structure and its importance in
healthcare. Various breakthroughs in the biosensor innovations have been listed. A varied discussion
about the integration of the wireless technology with the biosensors has been done, emphasizing the
importance of real time healthcare monitoring, and lastly a literature survey for the above mentioned
areas has been given.

A Great Military Leader, Douglas Macarthur
Douglas MacArthur
A great military leader...
8/30/2009
PADM 4400 Summer 2009
John Thompson
The research paper enclosed is one that focuses on a great military leader, Douglas MacArthur. This
leader was a household name in the United States during World War I, World War II, the Cold War and
the Korean War. His name was synonymous with Power and influence, during the 40 s. He became
known for his great strategic battles that ultimately won World War II for the United States and its
allies. However, MacArthur became just as popular for his sometimes off the wall theories and beliefs
on political topics. General MacArthur was born with power in his hands; his parents raised him
instilling great ambitions and the inspiring him to be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Douglas respected, admired and accepted his father s teachings. His father s use of referent power had
a huge effect on MacArthur s aspirations. MacArthur returned to the United States in 1906, he was
appointed aide de camp to President Theodore Roosevelt and in 1913, became a member of his
general staff. MacArthur received notoriety as commander of Rainbow Division, in World War I. It
was at this point that MacArthur became known throughout the United States as a talented but
flamboyant military leader. Douglas MacArthur knew he was talented and he wasn t afraid to let other
people know that he was a great leader. Throughout his career his confidence and bold statements
became well known. He returned from WWI combat with a variety of military decorations. In 1922
Douglas was assigned to the West Point Military Academy. MacArthur served as the youngest
superintendant ever to command West Point. His methods were unorthodox in the books of the
conservative West Point graduates. He was known to the cadets as a leader that put his feet up on the
desk and allowing cadets to take cigarettes from his personal stash. MacArthur did away with written
reprimands; he chose to do them face to face and without any written record. Many cadets were
inspired by his unique style of leadership and his charisma. He had a way of touching your elbow or
shoulder, upping his chin with a slight jerk and crowding in his eye such a warmth of blessing.

The Effects Of Facebook On Romantic Relationships
The Adverse Effects of Facebook on Romantic Relationships
Around the world people are updating their statuses on Facebook, double tapping pictures on
Instagram, tweeting, snapping, following, blogging, creeping, and commenting on posts. People do
these things so often that they have become second nature. More often than not, if you ask any random
person on the street if they have a form of social media they will say yes and will have at least one
type, if not more. As social media has grown, the habits that come with it have been incorporated into
many people s everyday lives . However, many people fail to think about how the things they do
everyday on their social media are affecting their relationship with their romantic partner. According
to one study done by Fox and Warber, Facebook could lead to negative effects, such as drama and
jealousy, on romantic relationships (Fox and Warber 5 6). Another article by Seidman and Robertson
supported this claim, agreeing that Facebook can lead to conflict and confusion, jealousy and anxiety,
less time spent with a partner, and deteriorating relationships with others (Seidman and Robertson).
This has been a controversial issue since the dawn of social media; however, Facebook has definitely
been seen to have negative effects on relationships by giving people more access to monitor others,
increasing jealousy and anxiety in relationships, and by simply taking away time from a relationship.
Since the beginning of mankind, humans

Digital And Technology And Copyright
Technology and Copyright
Introduction
Digital and networking technology have vastly reshaped the way the world acquires and uses
knowledge; by increasing the amount of creative content that is available to everyone worldwide and
the variety of sources from which an individual can choose to acquire that data. This content is often
created by many individuals collaborating to form large groups of people who all contribute creative
content. Intellectual property (IP) is the content that is created by either an individual or a group of
individuals. The distribution of free content, software, and ideas has successfully limited many
societies dependency for established channels of distribution and production [cyberethics]. More and
more however as the internet becomes a digitally real the ability to go to the internet and escape the
established channels of distribution has become increasingly difficult, concerns over the legal issues
with the way some, or at times most, of the ways material is acquired. Some experts believe that
intellectual property laws have stifled the access to many of these works, and in doing so have
decreased the rate at which the creative content can expand, grow, and progress. Laws like the Digital
Millennial Copyright Act (DMCA) and the Copyright Term Extension Act (CTEA) have shifted,
perhaps unfairly, the balance between intellectual property owners and the general users of these
creative works. These laws have been put into affect for the sole

  • 2. Cause Of Mass Shootings As most people already know in this year alone two of the biggest mass shootings in the United States history. The two shootings that are explained are the shooting in Las Vegas, which killed 58 and wounded 515 and the shooting in Texas which killed 26 and injured 20. You can also look at the Orlando Florida shooting last year which killed 49 and had 58 wounded (Linnane). Shootings in America have become more and more frequent, and it seems to some people that nowhere is safe. The examples given were at a concert, a bar and a church. It seems that no matter where you go there is now a risk of your life. Just imagine being in the shoes of someone who was in the Vegas attack. Thinking that they will have a fun time when all of a sudden you see someone next to you drop dead because someone has started to open fire. Everyone is in a panic trying to get to cover. You witness people praying that they won t get shot as everyone piles up. How did this occur? Why are these shootings becoming so common? Why do these horrible situations keep on occurring? Well, due to the amount of guns in America, the lack of Mental Health Care, and the ease of obtaining a weapon, mass shootings are increasing with more lives being lost. It seems that one major reason for the mass shootings is the astronomical number of guns in America. Max Fisher and Josh Keller state in a newspaper for New York Times says that America has 4.4 percent of the world s population, but has 42 percent of the world s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Hamlet and The Spanish Tragedy The parallels shown between Hamlet and The Spanish Tragedy demonstrate the influence Kyd s play had on Shakespeare. The similarities can be seen throughout the plot lines and context of both plays. While using the plays as different tools, both are used for expediting revenge. Shakespeare, through the impact of Kyd s play, established and perfected an ideal plot for a play expressing revengeful tragedy. The actions and thoughts that Hamlet shows greatly displays many characteristics from The Spanish Tragedy. Hamlet models himself after Hieronimo in the way he approaches revenge. However, Hamlet wants his victims to suffer not only on earth but in the afterlife. Kyd and Shakespeare utilize both meta theaters to exact revenge and reveal guilt. The intention of a play within a play by Kyd is used for the format of Hieronimo s death. It varies from that of Hamlet in layout and context. Hamlet plans precisely how he will avenge his father s death and when he will strike. Hamlet exclaims, When he is...about some act/ That has no relish of salvation in t / Then trip him...And that his soul may be damned and black/ As hell (Shakespeare III.iv.94 100). Killing Claudius in a sinful state will satisfy him, his father, and affect him by suffering in the afterlife as well. Hieronimo also plots his revenge, but is solely concerned with achieve earthly revenge. The Spanish Tragedy includes a play that is longer in duration than that of Hamlet. Kyd does this to allow the audience to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Both Pulp Fiction and Forrest Gump are movies that some would say are the best ever. Now, if you were to compare these two movies, it would seem absurd with each being on completely opposite spectrums of the moral ethics scale. However, on the surface Pulp Fiction may seem like another gangster, action, crime flick, but if a closer look is taken and the content really analyzed it can be seen that Pulp Fiction is really about redemption and how the characters seem to find it regardless of their actions. Through each separate story that Pulp Fiction tells, redemption runs at the core of the dynamic characters. If you aren t familiar with Pulp ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 5. John Stuart Mill s On Liberty And Utilitarianism Essay This essay examines and inspects liberty and order conflict based on the writings of philosopher John Stuart Mill, titled On Liberty and Utilitarianism. We will discuss how his philosophical views on equality as fundamental to what it means to be human. We will interpret John Stuart Mill s theorist view on equality as fundamental to the good or bad functioning of the state? The question and debate we would also raise will be, is equality be integral the arrangements of power? Lastly, we would argue the theorist s approach to liberty fundamentally influenced the way we view equality in the 21st century. In John Stuart Mill works of On Liberty, the piece focuses and concerns common and social freedom or, to take a gander at it from the opposite perspective, the nature and points of confinement of the power that can honest to goodness be practiced by society over the person. In John Stuart Mill works of Utilitarianism, it offers a possibility for a first standard of ethical quality, a rule that gives us a model recognizing good and bad. The utilitarian applicant is the guideline of utility. We will convey works from both pieces and examine his theoretical/ philosophical values of equality. Despite the fact that all may have concurred that an activity s results for the general satisfaction and happiness were to direct its rightness or misleading quality, the explanations for the acknowledgment of that guideline and the utilizations to which the rule was put changed ... • 8. The Government Is A System Of The Dual Federalism Federalism has numerous levels of government in which each of them have their own self governing authority over some of the policy areas. It helps in balancing the power between the national and subunit governments. Various forms of the government are being observed internationally, including the confederation and unitary government. The Confederal government was the very first form of government the United States had that is held under the Articles of Confederation; in which the states hold the authority over a limited national government. The most common form of government throughout the world is the unitary government in which the national and centralized government holds the ultimate authority. If there was no form of federal government, each individual state would face problems that may affect multiple states. This would lead a central government to come up with a mutual solution that would be beneficial to all the states across the nation or to the ones that need it most. Some scholars believe that the American government is a system of the dual federalism. This simply means that the national and state governments have control over unique spheres of policy. Others believe it to be a shared or cooperative federalism in which means that both the governments work together in all areas of the policy, or supply their services to the citizens. The balance of power between the states and the federal government of the United States constantly shifts back and forth causing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. U.s. History And American History US HISTORY FINAL PAPER Throughout the history of the United States from the 1500 s to 1865 a number of enduring motifs played out that shaped the future of the country. This is the place in time where the origins of racist ideologies can be traced back to the introduction of slavery to the American agricultural system in order to justify its malicious immorality. The 1500 s also saw the infancy of the specialization of the different regional economies of America to capitalize on what was closely available and abundant, and scarce and needed in another region; and by the 1860 s those regional economies had developed into behemoths that exported their products on large scales, not only domestically but internationally as well. But the most important theme of U.S. history from the 1500 s to 1865 was expansion, from Europe to colonial America, and then the westward expansion of the United States. I believe the theme of expansion is so integral to American history because it incorporates elements of the previous two themes (racism and racist ideologies, and specialized regional development) into it; the European colonial expansion is where the regional economies and values where first developed and still exist, in some aspects, to this day. This theme is also so important because the differing opinions on how to carry out the westward expansion of the United States, specifically whether the new states would slave states or free states, eventually became so contentious and ... What is important is how a company can handle and overcome the resistance to change in order to accomplish this difficult process. It has to be mentioned that, at a certain moment in time, different parts of the same organisation can be at different stages of the change. There are five main stages addressed by each individual that goes through a change process: Denial Anger Bargaining Depression Acceptance The timeline of the Oticon change did last for 6 years, until positive results reported in 1994. Burns listed many definitions of organisational culture, and a more simplistic and reductionist one is: Culture is how things are done around here (Burnes 2004 p.170). The change in Oticon can be seen as a Re Creation or Corporate transformation i.e. frame breaking or discontinuous change that impacts the whole organisation. This means the culture in the organisation will have to change to enable sustainability of the competitive edge. This is the reason why all things reminding of the past and the old culture had to disappear. Burke and Litwin (1992) consider that a transformational change involves a paradigm shift, and completely new behaviours. Instead of changes designed to help the organisation do things better (incremental change) the organisation needs to do things differently or do different things (Hayes 2007 p.121). There are four main pillars to success in this type of cultural change (The Denison Model): * Consistency * Mission * Involvement * Adaptability Lars Kolind used those 4 main streams in the processes of build, implement, develop and communicate this vision. Stakeholders were also involved in the in the process as he needed their support in adapting the company to better respond to market requests. References BUCHANAN, D. and HUCZYNSKI, A., 2004. Luciferianism roots from the word Lucifer, which is referred to by numerous as Satan, the dull leader of the underworld. During the time spent completely understanding the thinking for utilizing such a dim ruler as a name of a religion, one must first comprehend the history. Only one person in Skyfall has the power to save her, and that is her ace in the hole 007. After a shootout at the court house, Bond and M are going to go to the one place Bond knows better than his enemy, and that is home. On the way there, M says Too many people are dying because of me, showing that she truly leave the situation in Bond s hands because she would never say something like this if she could find her own way out. This speaks to the masculinity and power Bond has in these situations. At Skyfall, even then you see a male dominated fighting plan, as Bond and his housekeeper are both equipped with shot guns while M is given equipped with any resources she can find. When then fight begins M kills two people total and Bond s housekeeper kills four, with Bond mowing down the rest. Bond even completely exploded the house after the three had gotten out (nothing is more masculine than an explosion). In the closing of this fight scene, M is given an opportunity to kill the villain, but she couldn t find it in herself to pull the trigger. Hydrolysis Of Aspirin Lab Report The hydrolysis of aspirin in the absence and presence of rabbit serum Results In both saline and rabbit serum solutions, as the aspirin concentration increased, the salicylic acid concentration also increased. However, the salicylic acid concentration achieved in the saline solution at increasing concentrations of aspirin was not equivalent to the increase attained in the rabbit serum. In serum solution, the amount of salicylic acid metabolized from aspirin was always at least double that achieved by the saline at the comparable aspirin concentration (x3.375, x2.96, and x2.67 at aspirin concentrations 0.36mg/ml, 0.9mg/ml, and 1.8mg/ml, respectively; Figure 1). Regarding distribution of the hydrolases involved, the major contributors to aspirin hydrolysis activity outside of plasma are human CES 2 in the intestine and human CES 1 in the liver. In plasma, aspirin is hydrolysed by BChE, PON, and albumin. In rabbit plasma, there is a distinctly high concentration of CES, seemingly due to the low expression of BChE, indicating an inverse relationship between CES and BChE levels (Bahar and Imai, 2013). PON and BChE expression in all species are ubiquitous, with especially high expression in primates (Bahar et al., 2012). In humans, it is estimated that, for aspirin hydrolysis in plasma, BChE is approximately 30% responsible for activity, and has low and high affinity binding sites for calcium and/or magnesium (Bahar and Imai, 2013). PON is approximately 50% accountable, requiring calcium for substrate hydrolysis, and albumin is 16%, acting as a plasma carrier protein by binding, and shows esterase like activity. In rabbits, CES, due to its extensive hydrolytic ability (Bahar et al., 2012), makes it the primary contributor to aspirin hydrolysis in rabbit plasma (Bahar and Imai, 2013). Figure 1 consequently proves the presence of hydrolases most likely CES in the tested rabbit serum solution. It was an effective medium in which aspirin hydrolysis could ... The Meaning Of The Word In English Literature During literature class, where we read narrative that goes from the middle ages to the present, I noted that in many writings, several words appeared constantly in different stories from different authors that nowadays, are less used or uncommon. Including bosom , alas , nay , gay . Where bosom was used to refer to the chest as the seat of emotions. Alas used an exclamation to express sorrow, grief, pity, or concern. These words were commonly used in the Middle English 1225 75. Nay is a denial or refusal that was substituted simply for no . However, the word that had an even more drastic change of its meaning was gay . This project analyzes and investigates how common this word was in the English narrative. A hypothesis will be created of the reasons why its meaning may have changed. An example of its use in literature will be presented through different periods of time with different authors. At the beginning, according to the Oxford dictionary and the website dictionary.com, gay evolved from given to or abounding in social or other pleasures; bright or show; having or showing a merry, lively mood. To , in a certain period of time, changed drastically to mean sexually unrestrained or having loose morals. Turned to be an offensive synonymous for awkward, stupid, bad or lame. Gardner vs Traditional Teaching Methods Mr. Gardner expresses the theory that students should first learn how to understand a few important subjects and be able to decipher unique situations rather than just memorize facts for standardized tests. He builds his argument eloquently using mainly logos and ethos as his persuasive methods. He uses logos by making the reader think logically and digest not only his opinion, but the opinion of other experts. As for ethos, Mr. Gardner impresses upon the reader that he has a wealth of knowledge and an extensive background in the subject of education. Professor Gardner presents logos by quoting psychologists and educators, usage of historical analysis, and real world examples. This forces the reader to think about their own experiences and how they were taught and what teaching style would be best for their own children or themselves. He believes that students should learn to appreciate multiple perspectives about a subject and rid themselves of their simplistic misconceptions (Gardner 634). However, wiping the mental slate clean he says, is not a simple task and he furthers his point using logos in paraphrasing Lauren Resnick , disconfirming experiences do not always suffice to dissolve faulty conceptions and ... Precision And Accuracy Lab Report Determining the Density of a Polystyrene Sphere with Precision and Accuracy Abstract: The objective of the lab is to determine the volumes of the polystyrene spheres with three different measuring tools: Water Displacement, Analytical Scale, and Triple Beam Balance Scale. The experiment is meant to help understand the concept and application of precision and accuracy in experimental measurements. Accuracy is a measure of how closely the results of repeated measurements are to the true value of what is being measured. Precision is the variability in the results from the repeated measurements, and how close the repeated measurements were to one another. In this lab, the method for measuring the volume of the polystyrene spheres is done with the previously stated tools: Water Displacement, Analytical Scale, and Triple Beam Balance Scale. The standard deviation for the entire classes volumes and masses are recorded to determine the densities. Introduction: Accuracy and precision were the major aspects of the lab. Accuracy is how close the average of the measured values are to the actual value. Precision is the closeness of repeated measurements. In the lab, the aim was to get as close as possible with both accuracy and precision when determining the mass and volume of the spheres. The mass was determined by weighing the spheres on the Analytical Scale and Triple Beam Balance Scale. The volume is determined by measuring with a ruler and by water displacement. The standard ... Newspapers of the day were filled with angry letters from the arts community of Paris. The pig iron structure of the Eiffel Tower weighs 7,300 tones, while the entire structure, including non metal components, is approximately 10,000 tones. As a demonstration of the economy of design, if the 7,300 tones of the metal structure were melted down it would fill the 125 metre square base to a depth of only 6 cm, assuming the density of the metal to be 7.8 tones per cubic meter. Depending on the ambient temperature, the top of the tower may shift away from the sun by up to 18 cm because of thermal expansion of the metal on the side facing the sun. Maintenance of the tower includes applying 50 to 60 tones of paint every seven years to protect it from rust. The height of the Eiffel Tower varies by 15 cm due to temperature. In order to maintain a uniform appearance to an observer on the ground, three separate colors of paint are used on the tower, with the darkest on the bottom and the lightest at the top. Many years ago, in the ancient days, it would not be such a shock to see the Jews enslaved in Egypt or crucified as a means of torture and death, but even in modern times the same things are going on he still has the marks from where the nails pierced him. The author has used classical examples of Jewish persecution which every one knows is gone in the physical sense, but show how they still exist in the theoretical aspect, as the persecution is still occurring. In the next three stanzas, the poem takes the standpoint of three figures whose stories are pertinent examples of what Yevtushenko is trying to rely in this poem. First the voice of Dreyfus is used, and the stanza describes how horribly and unfairly he was treated, and how the country and its leaders turned their backs on him. There are two important literary devices used in this section. First the author puts the word pettiness on a line by itself. This is used as a declaration of what the author feels anti Semitism is based on. More often than not, if you ask any random person on the street if they have a form of social media they will say yes and will have at least one type, if not more. Another article by Seidman and Robertson supported this claim, agreeing that Facebook can lead to conflict and confusion, jealousy and anxiety, less time spent with a partner, and deteriorating relationships with others (Seidman and Robertson). This has been a controversial issue since the dawn of social media; however, Facebook has definitely been seen to have negative effects on relationships by giving people more access to monitor others, increasing jealousy and anxiety in relationships, and by simply taking away time from a relationship.
