Lucidchart is an intelligent diagramming application that brings teams together to make better decisions and build the future. Here are some key features of Lucidchart:
Visualize Complexity: Lucidchart allows individuals and teams to quickly map out processes, systems, and organizational structures. It helps clarify complexity by visualizing where you are, what’s missing, and what comes next.
Common Visual Language: Collaboration is accelerated when everyone uses a common visual language. Lucidchart makes it easy to involve the right people and keep everyone aligned. When you collaborate in the same space, decision-making becomes more efficient.
Bring Plans to Life: Even the best ideas need help to become real. Lucidchart enables you to stay focused and sprint forward with purpose. Bring to life the plans that will propel your business.
Intelligent Features: Lucidchart offers next-level intelligence, including features like the ChatGPT plugin and AI Prompt Flow, which allow you to build diagrams automatically.
Enterprise Ready: Lucidchart is secure and scalable, making it suitable for every team. It’s part of the Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite, which combines Lucidchart with Lucidspark (a virtual whiteboard) to help teams envision and build the future.
Integration with Industry-Leading Apps: Communicate visually and keep teams aligned by integrating Lucidchart with apps like Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Atlassian, Slack, and more.
Whether you’re creating flowcharts, mockups, UML diagrams, or other visual representations, Lucidchart equips you to visualize complex ideas faster, clearer, and more collaboratively123. If you’re interested, you can explore Lucidchart further by signing up for free on their website!
3. What they are…
Database modelling tools are used to visually represent database
architectures, entities and illustrate relations between said
entities. Modeling tools can help provide us with a brief
understanding of how data is organized and the connections in data
structures
5. Intro to Lucidchart
Lucidchart is a primarily web based database modeling
software that allows its users to not only create
flowcharts and diagrams but also allows them to
collaborate, revise and share their diagrams together in
an online space.
7. History and creation
In the year of 2008 the company known as lucid software
created the beta version of lucidchart. Later in the
year 2010, co-founders Ben Dilts and Karl Sun
officially launched lucicart as the first piece of
software published by the company.

8. Karl sun
Karl Sun is the co-founder and CEO of Lucid chart, a software
company that provides a suite of tools for managing data. Before
founding Lucid chart, Karl spent several years at Google, where he
led business development in the Chinese office, established Google’s
patent department, and played a role in Google’s investments related
to advanced wind and battery technologies.
9. Ben Dilts
Ben Dilts is the CTO and co-founder of Lucid chart, a popular online
diagramming tool. He played a pivotal role in solely developing and
building the first version of Lucid chart. His influence continues
to be significant in product development. Prior to Lucid chart, Ben
served as the CTO for Zane Benefits, where he oversaw the
development of one of the leading online health benefits
administration platforms. He also worked as the lead software
developer for Estari. Ben holds a B.S. in computer science from
Brigham Young University

13. Usage
As a data modeling software the tools to create all
three data models (conceptual, logical and physical) as
well as tools for entity relation diagrams amongst many
others are all within lucidchart.
In the next few slides a few basic principles of lucid
graph will be shown
14. 1.Adding symbols
In order to create our models and diagrams we have the
benefit of simpling dragging and dropping our symbols
into our canvas to create it
The list on the right displays a few symbols
that we can use in or diagram.
Fig. 3
16. Advanced symbols
By default the symbols
available a very basic
and aren't much help to
use in database modeling.
Luckily lucid graph has
addition symbols
available for highly
specialized uses. These
symbols however must be
enabled by the user.
17. 2.Creating relations
Now that we know how
to add symbols how do
we add relations
between them. This
process is very simple
as it acts the same as
the drag and drop
interface we are
familiar with.
