The history of whaling originates all the way back 3000B.C. Whaling is killing whales for meat and
oil. Huge fleets of whalers did not come around until the 1700 s. By the 1930 s 50,000 whales were

The sculpture that caught my eye the most for this assignment is called Reverence by Jim Sardonis.
This piece of artwork is a three dimensional assemblage sculpture. It is made of pieces of granite

Sardonis made this art to show the world that we, as a whole, have a great effect on the living
creatures in this world, no matter how big or how small. We should have much more respect towards
animals that live in our oceans. The whales tails in the sculpture are about 12 feet long. I assume they
would look very large in person but they are nowhere near the size of a realistic whale s tail. I think
seeing the big tails in person would make people realize little things can and should be prevented so

humans let unnatural substances into the water, (example: oil spills) it causes pollution which is

At the ten Booms residence it would never have crossed their minds as to whether they should open
their doors to ones in need. Even before the war, the family had raised eleven foster children in a
