The document discusses potential locations at a school to take photos for the front cover and spreads of a magazine. Some locations mentioned include leaning against a wall to look urban, lying in the grass for a playful look, and peeking through windows for a creative edge. Sitting on a park bench in different poses is also suggested to look playful. Walking or standing across a path like The Beatles' Abbey Road cover could appeal to both young and old audiences.
2. ocations
After looking around
the school for
various locations for
my
magazine, although
being a boarder
limited the shots
differentiation, I did
find some good
locations to possibly
use for mainly the
front cover and
double page spread.
Some of these
locations can be
edited in Photoshop
to be made black
and white, sepia
tone etc. depending
3. Leaning against a wall
Insert:
Similar
location
found in
Rolling
Stone
magazine.
In these locations, each member could be leaning against the wall in a casual, playful stance
in a full shot of the members. Using the wall gives an Urban appearance and similar rock
bands have done the same.
4. Lying on the grass
Insert:
Similar
location
found in a
recent Q
magazine.
In these locations, the band members will be lying on the grass in a similar birds-eye position
to the insert to give them a playful and quirky appearance normally associated with alternative
bands.
5. Peeking through
In this location I thought
each band member
could appear in the
window with
mischievous
expressions to give
them a creative, playful
edge
The brick walls also add
again an urban feel to
the shots, but the
foliage below the
windows may be
distracting.
6. Sitting on a bench
The band members for numerous shots could be
placed in different positions with different facial
expression to give the shots a creative flare and
playfulness. The park bench above is an example
of an angle the shots could be taken in, with one
of the band members up-close to the camera
(looking into it) in front with the others surrounding.
7. Insert:
The
Walking/Stood across
Beatles –
Abbey
Road
The band members
in this full shot could
stand side by side or
be of a pose similar
to the insert. Being a
similar pose to the
insert may be a
pleasure for the
audience as it may
remind them of the
famous Abbey Road
shot and appeal to
an older and younger
audience.
