2. O P E N I N G SEQUENCE
• We used the opening shot of Facebook to
illustrate immediately that we are dealing
with new media such as the popular ideal of
Facebook and using the ‘status’ connotes the
feelings of an older generation asking the
young what they would like to be?
• We wanted to create the feeling of innocence
for the opening of our documentary, we did
this through the use of modelling a young girls

3. CONNOT A T I ONS
• The vox pops are just the connotation
of the publics opinion of themselves and
to illustrate how much we view ourselves
on our bodies appearance.
• We used the stop motion as a
connotation much like the use of the
dispersion effect. We wanted to

• Through the use of the media teacher

media can bring through user generated
websites such as Tumblr. We used a screen
capture of scrolling through the pro ana
blog, this is to connote the girl is looking
through the website and to portray a
constant threat and that is seemingly never
ending . We also tried to connote that pro ana
sites are easily accessible as a girl is sitting
using her computer within her room.
• We used many fillers throughout our
7. CONNOT A T I ONS
• We used a montage of film showing the
implications that the internet has had
on our generation. The montage also
helps to enhance the opinion of
bombardment of technical devices such
as iPhones, laptops and tablets.
• The new equilibrium of ‘what can we do’
is in itself the connotation of recovery.
The presentation of the cards
illustrating the text could connote the
