Title and Font Ideas
After thorough research on the British Social Realism (BSR)genre we decided to look into the fonts and typefaces used by directors such as Guy Ritchie and Danny Boyle within this specific genre. We looked into film posters and opening title sequences in films such as RocknRolla , Outlaw , Goodbye Charlie Bright , The Football Factory and Green Street Hooligans. Many of the listed films where directed by the directors we had looked into. We noticed a similar trends in fonts and typefaces when viewing our choice of films within the BSR genre. Directors such as Guy Ritchie and Nick Love used similar types of fonts in movies such a RocknRolla and The Football Factory . In order to replicate the BSR genre we feel we have to replicate the army/stencil like use of font to achieve our goal in recreating a BSR title for our film opening.
New England London Town Blood Brothers Lucky Number 8 Title Ideas Made in England The Job
After our group pitched in our ideas for the name of the film, we narrowed it down to two names. ‘Made in England’ and ‘New England’ were the two that divided the opinion of the group. As we were unsure of what to call our opening, we asked both our media studies teachers and they both suggested it to be ‘Made in England’. Therefore, we decided to use that as our film name. We thought the name ‘Made in England’ for a gangster film connotes to a different type of gangster film, something perhaps more unconventional which subverts the genre. In many cases, subverting genre could be a positive thing, however we wanted audiences to know that our characters are old-fashioned east Londoners, hence why we decided to use ‘Made in England’. This ensures that loyal BSR audiences will watch the film.

We also analysed films within the BSR genre in order to gain ideas on the use of fonts we could apply in our film opening. Here are a few links which we thought could aid us in our choice of fonts and typefaces: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ac8QExlA1I Football Factory http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYHw_h1YdkA RocknRolla http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DbGhC47NSmY&feature=related Trainspotting
