2. Thriller Music What are the types of music used in thrillers? After analysing a variety of film openings of thrillers, we took in mind what we could use in our film opening. Panic Room is a good example, the music starts off slow with the use of very ominous well held notes. Alongside diagetic sound of the urban city being played at the same. The title is shown afterwards then the music gets faster in paste which generates the idea of panic and at unease; which corresponds well to the title. Non-diagetic sound of the clock ticking, emphasises the idea that time is running out which could inform the audience what is going to happen in the film. As it is a thriller, it creates suspense and curiosity. Click the link before for the opening scene of ‘Panic Room’ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqIclb4qsJI
