Takehe




-The takehe is cousins to the pukeko.
-The takehe is a flightless bird.
-people thoght of it to be extinct.
Kea



-The kea were voted nz smartest bird.
-kea’s are a parrot.
- A kea’s beak is strong enough to
wreck a car.
kaka




-   Kaka have a brush tongue to take nectar from flowers.
-   Kaka use there beak as a third leg it helps them to climb
    trees.
-   Kaka like eating all kinds of berrys and seeds
kakapo




-the kakapo is the heaviest parrot in the world.
-The kakapo is flightless.
-It is the only parrot that has a lek breeding system.
Black robin




-The black robin is a small bird.
-the black robin is black and has long,thin,dark legs.
-females often lay 2 eggs but if a clutch then they often re-
lay
fantail



-there are about 10 speices of fantails three of them live in
new zealand
-the three names of the fantails that live in new zealand
are the north island fantail,the south island fantail and the
chatham islands fantail.
Bell bird




-bell birds make a speical bell noise.
-most bell birds are green.
Kiwi




-The kiwi has very strong legs for burrowing and pulling
apart rotten logs.
-kiwis like very dark places.
-kiwis are nocturnal.
