Thank you everyone for joining me today. I am Shawn Rutledge, an Investment Advisor at Nesbitt Burns Private Client Division, which is a part of the Bank of Montreal companies. I have been in the financial industry for almost 7 years now. Now, why are we sitting here talking specifically about investing for the successful high net worth woman? Well, because based on these two statistics, women are becoming active participants in the financial industry and never been a more important time to understand your WEALTH STRATEGY .
At first glance, it may be difficult to believe that women’s financial needs are all that different from men’s… However, while the general principals of financial planning are universal, women face unique challenges that amount to different financial needs…( DISCUSS ABOVE SLIDE ).

Young Canadian women are being encouraged to take a much more active role in investing . Over 54% report that they are interested in learning first-hand about financial planning.* So because of these reasons, let’s look at some financial planning priorities that are often neglected or overlooked. LifeStage 1 is the time to establish good money-management habits. Your basic approach during this period can set the pace for the rest of your life, so it’s important to start smart. There are dramatic, long-term benefits when you begin investing in your 20s.
Women are constantly balancing a number of responsibilities which often include raising families, paying off mortgages, establishing careers and paying down student loan s. Even when employed, women are largely responsible for looking after their homes and families. This generation is often referred to as the “sandwich generation”.
